But I had my grandbabies and they were hungry so we went there and the wait for food was a little long but the food was delicious and they loved buttering, syruping, cutting their pancakes them selves. Not too sure what to say. I have dined here about four times with mixed results in terms of both service and quality of food. The first visit was excellent all the way around, the second was good for the most part as was the third. Then on the 4th visit it seemed to take forever for our food order to be taken and a long wait for it to finally be served. Upon being served many of the orders were lukewarm and several were missing items. In one case there was no syrup for pancakes and after asking for it along with a few food items we were missing, we again had to wait and by the time most of it was served we were more than half way through with our meals. I am hoping that 4th experience was a fluke and am planning to try one more visit before giving up! read more

Searched for dog friendly breakfast and Big Bad Breakfast came up in the results. So my dog and I came here to check it out. Was pretty crowded for a Thursday at 9:00am. I ordered a water, coffee with 2 creams and a veggie omelette. Service was good, but not great. Omelette comes with a salad and French fries. No salt or pepper but it did come with cardio for the fries. My server topped my coffee and checked on me a couple times which was good, but no additional cream for the coffee. The omelette was ok, but nothing stellar. The fries were warm, but not hot. It just was not worth the $14.00. Doubtful I will come bac again. read more

For this review, I am looking at Big Bad Breakfast - Greystone. This place is amazing! Before you enter, it is located in a large, clean location with lots of parking. Like its exterior, the interior of this location is very clean and has lots of natural light (which is something I always enjoy). For warmer weather, they also have patio seating available. Regarding the food, I ordered the chicken and waffles. This meal is absolute perfection. Both the chicken and the waffles are so good that they could be their own dishes. However, Big Bad Breakfast puts them together and adds honey to top it off. You will not be able to find better chicken and waffles within Birmingham! However, even if chicken and waffles aren't to your liking, they have a plethora of other courses available. The grits, the omelettes, the French toast, all of it is out of this world! Everything I have ordered here has been a 10/10 meal. The service here is also incredible. You feel like a part of a family instead of just a customer! In summary, I highly recommend this location, and highly recommend Big Bad Breakfast as a whole! read more

We tried to come here for breakfast Labor Day weekend when we were in town, but the line was out the door. RJ brought me here this morning and there was no wait. We sat outside and Carrie was our waitress. I ordered a Diet Coke before I saw they had Breakfast Margaritas, what! I ordered that too. I have a thing for chicken and waffles so I went with that, and RJ got the Big Bad Breakfast skillet. Omg the food here was fantastic. My chicken and waffles had local honey, and the chicken was boneless and crispy and juicy. The waffle was light and fluffy. It was the best I've had. RJ's breakfast skillet was banging! Great place with huge portions. Staff was friendly and the place was packed. Our food came out hot and just as we ordered. We had a hard time selecting what we wanted because everything looked delicious and the prices were reasonable especially considering the portion size. I only removed one star due to the tight space. We were in a spot semi close to the register and while staff cannot blatantly tell people to GTFO, it would have been nice if they received some direction on where to stand while waiting to pay or after they have paid-I had a guy literally with his butt on my leg for a second before I spoke up and told him to stand against something other than me. Biscuits as big as your hand made with Cathead vodka for flakiness, freshly squeezed OJ and generous pours on their mimosas, potato hash like my grandma used to make and enough Southern hospitality to make one feel right at home. I LOVE Big Bad Breakfast and have to give the chef a standing ovation for thinking this one up. We first visited on a Saturday afternoon after the farmer's market. It was fairly early but they place still had a line out of the door. Lucky for us it was mostly families and we were able to find a seat at the bar. After ordering a mimosa for myself and a greyhound for my partner, I really started to dig into the menu and steal glances at people's plates. We got there at the right time, right before the rush on Sunday morning. Service was fast and friendly. The menu had different choices which left it hard to choose. I selected the Fried oyster scramble which was quite tasty. My husband got the shrimp and grits which had great flavor. Biscuits are big and fluffy! They also had jumbo donuts that looked amazing, but I couldn't handle a biscuit and a donut! The place had a very good atmosphere with a great mix on the playlist. Consistency is key when it comes to BBB. I have been multiple times and they never disappoint. The space is one large, open room. So while they are super busy on the weekends, the wait is worth it and they can generally seat your party fairly quickly. They have a coffee bar so put in your name, grab a coffee, and enjoy the company of those around you. Portion sizes are HUGE so come hungry! Service is your normal southern hospitality so no worries there. I don't even have a suggested thing to get as I wanted to try everyone's dish at my table and they were all fantastic. We went to the Greystone Al sat feb 13. My wife put our name ( V Smith) online at 9:50 and it said to check in at 10:37 We went in at the time and they said it would be another 40 min but took her number and said they would text when available We waited and waited and finally went back in to find out why she hasn't been texted. She was told they had tried but her phone did NOT have a record of a text Then we find out they were down the phone number. I complained to someone that identified themselves as the GM. She got us seated right after but by now it was 11:25, so approaching 2 hours since we put our name down! I understand people get busy but other than a weak obligatory apology there was no real compassion for our ordeal In fact there were a series of excuses, " we had a party of 24 before yall" blah blah. No real apology for writing down the wrong number etc. The food was good but I will never go back there and I will tell everyone I know how incompetent this location is. Again it's not the time it took, it's the last of enthusiasm for caring. I was in and out of the place rather quickly because the service was so efficient at the time. I ordered the Yard Work with wheat toast. If you're looking for something a little lighter and healthier, I would suggest this. I was able to eat everything, even the toast. I also got a side of spicy bacon.
