Ribs were cooked just right and they didn't skimp on the meat, which I appreciated. The brisket was ok; it was a little dry, but flavorful. Pull pork was juicy, but could have used some more seasoning. Out of all the sides we had, the cream corn was definitely the best! Very disappointing 4th of July dinner. Invited friends who had never been here. They,too,were disappointed. Arrived at 6:30. Sign at the entry to the line said "No Brisket". That is what my wife and I had been craving. As it turns out that is what our friends wanted too. I'd understand if it was 8 pm on a normal weeknight. Not 6:30 on a holiday. That's just poor planning or poor cooking schedule. After ordering and paying.....go to get drinks. Wife wanted sweet tea. That was out. The soda machine had many flavors out and I heard several people..including our friends..frustrated because it forced them to a choice they didn't want. Food arrives at the table....with the server telling me oh we are also out of turkey.....and asking what else I wanted. Very disappointing. I don't mind paying $50 when we are getting what we wanted...but when it's not what we wanted....not very happy about that. Our friends spent about the same and were disappointed too. They suggested we go to Bell's next time. Saw quite a few employees working but nobody really stood out as leading/managing what was clearly a dinner disaster. We've eaten in this place many times and have ordered take-out or DoorDash a couple of times. Generally, the food has been very good. (Review June 2021, my wife gave 5 stars.) Today we DoorDashed and, to my surprise, my food was not acceptable. I had the Chicken and Pulled Pork two-meat plate. When I bit into the chicken, I found the meat around the bone to be raw! Not pink, not red; RAW! (See photo.) The styro-foam container with the Chicken and Pulled Pork was full of grease (see photo); so the meat also tasted of grease. My colleague and I happened upon this restaurant after a long day attending a conference. The front face of the restaurant stuck out as it was surrounded by bland office buildings. The inside is differently styled from other restaurants...lots of knickknacks, picnic tables and benches for groups and some smaller tables with lots of open space. Ordering is super simple...line up, order at the register and pay. Nothing fancy. My colleague and I separately order a three meat combo...and we both regretted it because it's a lot of food! I put a nice dent in it (during dinner) but I ended up taking the rest back to my hotel and having some brisket for breakfast! Lol I think you get a lot of food for the money and for me was a great value. Ultimately, I can't say anything negative about the bbq; great flavor and falling off the bone tender. My only thing is the over all lack of restaurant service...that's their concept, everything is self serve which I'm not a huge fan of but that's just my sensibility. Also, it's a very casual atmosphere...we looked pretty silly dressed in our business attire. Unfortunately this is a very rare 1 star on both food & customer service from a phone call with a manager. I gave this place 3 times and the last experience was an automatic NEVER AGAIN! First 2 times one sit in, second to go . First time Ribs were dry, sauce kinda watery and bland. Brisket was good and had a good ring on it. Second time, brisket burger spot on and nice portions. Third time and most recent causing this review was by far disgusting. I ordered a brisket burger with fries and mac & cheese to go. I asked for fatty pieces of brisket, instead I got dried out lean cuts when I took bites it was crunchy. Even pulled a piece out that so dry you couldn't eat it just by looking at it. You can see in the pic I posted. mac and cheese was lukewarm and fries were fine. I had came in on a Friday night at around 8pm and they closed at 9pm. Have in mind I was driving a friend all day visiting Hoover dam and when I came home I didn't call that night and complain. I waiting until the next morning and I spoke with a manager and she decided instead of apologizing about the food, I was being questioned why I couldn't call them that night? And I repliedit was close to closing time and the brisket wasn't edible so why would I want another burger potentially with the same issue? Also I said I was tired and didn't wanna go back out and drive that night. She then went and said," well next time call that night and we could have replaced it for you and basically said have a great day and hung up on me. There's way too many other options for bbq in the Henderson area to have a bad attitude towards your customers especially when they are in the wrong and all I suggested was to be aware of what you serve because the brisket was by far one of the worst Ive ever tasted. I have to say that I have never been so dissatisfied with a bbq restaurant. The sides were all terrible. The creamed corn wasn't remotely creamy.. it tasted like canned corn that they whizzed up in a blender. It was all fibrous and watery. The mac and cheese tasted like milk - no cheese or seasoning. The beans were overly sweet. The coleslaw was the only side I would order again and that still needed more seasoning. Worst yet was the meat. We ordered to go and their website stated it would be a 10 min wait when you got to the restaurant because they cut the meat to order. No problem! But I got there and waited 24 mins. They were not busy. Got home and was so disappointed. The brisket was dry as a bone. I had a huge hunk of an end piece that was hard as a rock and couldn't even be eaten. The pulled chicken was SO dry (you can see in my picture) it literally looked like sawdust. The hot link had zero spice -- it tasted like kielbasa. But, was the best meat I ate. The dining room is huge with picnic style wood tables and plenty of big screen TV's, perfect for bringing the whole family. It's easy to order. Just line up along the counter and view the meats as you approach the register. Don't forget about the Yelp Check-In offer (free side order!). Corn was a bit overcooked and a little mushy. The seasoned fries were savory and a large portion. The fried okra was crunchy and we topped it with ranch dressing. Their smoking approach with Mesquite is spot on. My only disappointment was the beef ribs. Not a lot of meat on the bones and a little dry. I shouldn't have to rely on the sauce to fix that. I liked this place the minute we walked in. Staff extra friendly, you could tell that they actually liked being at work and liked each other. I ordered the 3 meat plate with Babybacks, Brisket & Hot Link. Babybacks fell off the bone, brisket had a nice pink smoke ring. I was expecting a hot link, like andouille. Link was pretty mild. They do have a jalapeño version. BBQ sauce on the table, however it's not marked so it's hard to tell what you're gonna get. I chose Mac n cheese and fries as my sides. Fries weren't crispy, but they were good and lightly seasoned. The Mac n Cheese wasn't my favorite. Either someone put too much cream cheese/ sour cream or ?? One small bite was enough for me. Husband ordered the Ultimate BBQ sandwich. This thing is enormous, filled with every kind of BBQ you could imagine. I had my doubts he could eat the whole thing... of course he did!! This place is a disgrace to texas bbq! How this place has 4.5 stars blows my mind. Meat: Moist brisket, Turkey, jalapeño cheddar hot link The "moist brisket" was dry, and didn't pull apart. It was so dry that it just crumbled. To try and alleviate my mouth from the exfoliation from the dry meat, I tried to slather the meat it in the bbq sauce but even that couldn't save my mouth from this horrible experience. I've had jerky that was more moist than their "moist brisket" The meat is either over cooked or from the previous day. This place needs to rethink how they are cooking and identify a better system for quality control. This shouldn't have been served. On the bright side your macaroni and cheese + jalapeño cheddar hot link were the best things here and that's not saying much. P.S. When Big Bs first opened by my house I was extremely excited to have good barbeque. They did an amazing job with friendly service and quality product. For the first few years, I would dine here at least once a week with my favorite order of baby back ribs, pulled pork and coleslaw. There was once an issue with a delivery and the owner called me up and personally delivered to my house, talk about service!!! I noticed over a year ago that product quality was not consistent and started going less often. I decided to try them out and ordered online for a pick up. Major mistake, they couldn't find the ticket then argued with me that I didn't pay, even though I had a receipt from the ordering app. (Not sure if why they decided to argue about payment when they didn't know what I ordered???) Instead of handling the issue, they decided to have me wait while they took orders of 5 other parties. After waiting nearly 20 minutes, they finally acknowledged they had my order and made it. Poor service, poor experience, ok food. Brian, if the restaurant cannot service pick ups and looses orders, I would suggest removing any pick up at your outlets or it will turn more customers like me off from returning to what used to be a great independently owned restaurant.
