Food was excellent. The service was great. Ambience nice and clean. We would recommend for sure. You will enjoy eating here.

Food was very yummy. The curry sauce and katsu paired well together. For the price, there was a lot of a katsu which is always a good thing. The Mac salad was also good but not amazing. Staff was also very nice and talkative. As for the restaurant itself, the interior is basic but the food does the heavy lifting. Would recommend this Hawaiian bbq spot if you're nearby.

A family-owned Hawaiian BBQ Restaurant in Ontario offering traditional Hawaiian BBQ food, such as Loco Moco, Spam and eggs, Kalua Pork, Hawaiian BBQ short ribs and so much more. Last Monday, we came here for brunch. This is a small restaurant with simple décor and limited seating. We ordered Crispy Shrimp Mini Meal and BBQ Chicken Mini Meal. Although everything is freshly made to order, the service was fast and we received our food within 10 minutes. The food was so good! Both the Crispy Shrimp and BBQ Chicken were fresh and really well made. We enjoyed our food very much. For a quick lunch, a busy-day meal, or a relaxed dinner with friends at a reasonable price, Big Island BBQ is a great choice.

Lots of construction/ office workers so it was pretty busy. I got the two meat combo ($15.95) with chicken katsu and bbq chicken which came with a side of white rice and macaroni salad. I also got a side of spam musubi ($6.25). The wait time was not long and they had a good amount of seating. The portions were a good size and the katsu was crispy and not too thin. The bbq chicken was moist and not too salty. The macaroni salad was not too heavy on the mayo. The spam musubi was fine, not heavy on the rice and the spam was thickly sliced. They have a stamp card. Parking lot can get filled quickly.

    I already started eating it : P

We frequent the Del Taco in the same plaza and stumbled upon this place! I love Hawaiian BBQ and always like to try different spots. Everything was good! We ordered the BBQ Chicken and Beef - comes with veggies, rice and mac salad. Definitely look forward to returning to try the mochiko chicken and musubi.

Drove out of my way to try this place because they had better reviews than Ono, but never again. Worst loco moco I've ever had. The patties tasted like they were not only frozen, but maybe not stored properly & freezer burned? My mom said they tasted like dog food. Bummer, was hoping it was better. Won't be going back there again.

I couldn't remember what it was about this place that I didn't like until I ordered a side of mac salad to go with my mini bbq beef plate...then it hit me, the MAC SALAD SUCKS here!! Nothing Island about it, to be honest, I'd prefer Ono's mac salad over this and I don't even like Ono's like that. Had to leave a review, so if we ever go back for lunch, I'll remember not to waste my money on a side of mac salad. I did order the chicken lumpias too and those were good, it's missing a little crunch, but it is what it is.

Soft grand opening for this place seems to be going well! I ordered the grilled chicken plate with a side of teriyaki! The portion was huge! Two scoops of rice, 1 scoop of Mac , veggies, and plenty of chicken. I had a lot of questions and the cashier answered every single one very kindly and helped me with the expansive menu! As I was ordering, about 4-5 walked in behind me to order. It was nice to hear chill music and see a very clean location! Will be trying it again!

    Katsu and bbq beef

Food was pretty standard, nothing too wowing. Katsu was nice and crispy. Bbq beef was thinly sliced - slightly dry, but it's still pretty good when it's dipped in the sauce. The Mac salad could use a little bit more flavor in my opinion, but it's not bad. We were there to dine-in between lunch and dinner times so there wasn't a lot of people. It was mostly people coming in to pick up instead of dining in. Aside from my husband and I, there wasn't anyone else dining in, so it was pretty quiet.

    Let's try it!

Loco Moco is good for mainland action. Meat is typical burger meat but sort of the quarter pound size so generous in consideration.

The service was good. The food was decent for mainland Hawaiian food. My BBQ meat lacked the charcoal cooking taste. Would I return, yes.

The serving was generous with some of the jalapeños to bring a little bit of acid and heat. Definitely wanna catch them at another pop-up and try some of their other items that lean more towards the Cambodian influence. The vibe getting the food and at the winery was very chill. It was earlier in the day, so maybe people weren't drinking that much yet but I really enjoyed my peaceful time whole enjoying the delicious food.

I said, "I can tell you, but I think it's best I show you." My son and I walked into what seemed like an old Chinese food buffet not too far from the new Tower Buzzers stadium. It was larger than I imagined, but it needed to be. You could smell the flavors right from the front door. I tried to order based on what I had seen on their website, but it turns out their options have changed a bit, so we went with the party wings and the dozen shrimp plate. Shrimp Plate: For the first time in a loooooong time, I had juicy shrimp. I had long lost hope of finding a juicy shrimp on account of most places will overcook them and give you what amounts to breading shells with empty space where the shrimp used to be. The shrimp at NYMK is juicy and the breading has to be a family secret. Party Wings: My son swears by these. He can't have any other wings, now. He loved the mac and cheese - especially when you add a little of the hot sauce to the mac and cheese. After his meal, I told him, "This is your first taste of Soul Food. It can be considered Southern food, but it has its own spices. It has its own history. It's own heart and soul. It stands on its own." I can't recommend this place enough for those folks looking to enjoy something way different than what the IE provides.

That will be the main reason I probably won't return. The service was good. It was quick and friendly. And the ambiance was alright too as everything was clean, efficient, and not distracting. I just agree with the statement earlier that there are better rice bowl, hawaiian, and/or teriyaki food joints in the area at either a much better quality or better pricing. This seems to find that line where what you get, though good, is a bit over-priced for what you get and there is no recourse to get something smaller because then you will be over-paying and still hungry. I'd almost give this place a 4 though because I did enjoy the meal quality-wise.
