Took car in for repairs was charged over $2300, 2mos later and less than 500 miles it broke down WITH THE SAME ISSUE! Big Nick's towed it and said all was under warranty. After 2 weeks and very poor communication I got it back again but this time it was leaking when it wasn't before, took it back AGAIN only to be told the original problem really couldn't be fixed due to them not being able to test pressure?! They should have known all of this at the onset, there's good reason shops are AAA certified, do research, this shop would NEVER qualify! read more

I have done business with Big Nick's several times. I feel Nick is over booked with appts he forgets when he tells his customers to come in. I went there twice, and neither time did I receive good service because he forgot. He promises his customers that he will throw something in for giving him business then doesn't do it. His wife works in the front to make the appts she's a trip VERY RUDE to customers. He needs to hire someone that is professional because she will leave a nasty taste in your mouth. Let's start out by saying they were very nice in the beginning. I I was late for the appointment and they still let me drop off my truck. They were supposed to call me that night and let me know what the issue was. I received a call two days later which isn't a big deal. they told me what the issue was, and that they were going to further look into the matter for me because I wasn't understanding why that happened and was wondering if there was another underlying cause. They told me the total price of the vehicle repairs this place does not have any type of financing, which again is a big deal, but due to the price of the repair, I knew I would need to come up with money. unfortunately due to the times of the shop open at eight and closing at 5:30. It would be extremely hard for me to pick up my truck after they ran the diagnostics. As I get off of work at five and I work in Westminster. Goes by, they call me understandably a little aggravated that I have not yet picked up the truck. They let me know that they will leave the key somewhere for me outside so I can pick it up when I get off of work. I was told I was going to receive a photo with the whereabouts of the key. This did not happen so on Thursday morning the night after I was supposed to receive a text message I decided to go to work late go to the shop pull some tools from my work truck get the key so that later that night I could come and pick up the truck. whilst arriving before 8 AM, the mechanic came out and proceeded to scream at me for not moving the truck. I let him know that I was told I was gonna receive a text message the night before of where my key was going to be he proceeded to yell at me and tell me we sent you picture she sent you a picture and I sent you a picture is what he told, I showed him my phone and told him I did not receive any pictures but I'm here to get the key right now and I can move the vehicle if it is hindering. He proceeded to yell at me about the issue about how I'm blocking all of the cops she came out and started to scream at me as well saying I sent you a picture and then I continue to tell both of them I did not receive a picture I can move the vehicle right now, then she says well I forgot to send you the picture, but I told you where the key would be. I said well I was waiting for the picture to show me where it was at and that didn't happen. He then takes the key from my hand and says well we're gonna need to hold onto this key until you come pick up your truck I said give me my key right now and I will move the vehicle off of your site right now. I continue to try to talk to him calmly, even after he stepped with an inches of my face, and proceeded to yell at me telling me I needed to listen to him. After this aggressive exchange, I decided I would not want to do business with them, and requested my key so I could move the vehicle. I have since moved the vehicle off of the lot and will not be returning. Again, they were really nice in the beginning they did not charge me for the diagnostics. but unless you feel like you want to have a screaming match with two employees of this auto shop, I suggest you do not do business with them. I will be awaiting communication from somebody on this yelp review as I believe their argumentative attitudes will not allow them to see this, and not have some sort of rebuttal. This is why people do not tend to do business with smaller shops, or family own businesses because of the way the employees act. I am very disappointed with the way I was approached this morning. Hello again! I believe I got upset after you and your husband tried to have a screaming match with me out front. If you both would learn to keep your mouth closed and listen to a customer we would have had an understanding. Don't forget you admitted to not sending me a text message with a picture and information on where my key would be. Ridiculous how after admitted that you returned inside. I arrived at 7:55 to get necessary tools for my work day as well as get my key to move it off the lot, as well as let you know I had the money to make the repairs and schedule a date to return with my vehicle. But, instead of giving your customer a chance to speak the owner chose to come out of the building screaming at me. Through this entire "conversation" I kept asking him to calm down and let me speak. Which he many times told me" I will speak and you listen!" Not the best way to handle a business!! Thankfully i decided to take my truck and business elsewhere. As my truck is fully repaired and for a lot less money than what you were charging and I did not have to deal with two very unprofessional business owners. I thank you for your award winning attitudes. As it saved me a ton of money! I felt as though I WON the LOTTERY!!!!!!! On Tuesday, my car was making concerning sounds so I called Big Nick's Auto to see if I could bring my Audi in, & Jami said sure even though they were really busy. When I got there, Nick took a quick look at my car and said it wasn't great news which I expected. It was going to cost between $500-$1,000 depending if the wheel bearing could be saved. I could not afford to have my car fixed, & I knew how long it would take me to get to work taking buses and trains so I was in tears leaving my car there hoping my husband would help me. Yesterday, I dropped my Fiat 500X off at Big Nick's to diagnose a rattling noise under the front of the vehicle every time it hit a bump in the road. I expected to pay thousands for this repair. Instead, I walked out with new sway bar links and a bill of $266.85. I couldn't believe it. Such a low price and a great value. The price was more than fair and there was no evidence that the price for parts had been unfairly marked up or the labor rates unreasonable. I will be back again. This is a great group of people with fair and honest pricing. That is exactly what I need from an auto shop. And, get this. I was so impressed that I wanted to tip them $200, but they said they could not accept tips. They simply requested that I refer new customers to them. Fair enough. That's what I am doing. Brought our car in for AC repairs and told them that we did not need the system to be charged but that the condenser fan needed to be replaced. They said they charged it anyway at a cost of more than $300.00, something I could have done at home in 10 minutes with a $40.00 AC charger from AutoZone. They they charged another $700 to replace the condenser fan. We feel ripped off and will never take a car there again. read more

I called Big Nick's Auto to see if they could fit me in to take a look at my wheels after I hit a curb. They were able to fit me in 2 hrs later. I got there for my appointment and they looked at my car asap and done in about 15 minutes. Not only were they fast but also told me I didn't damaged anything and just needed a wheel alignment. I was thinking it was going to be costly for a wheel/axle repair, which they could have easily said. No charge for looking at my car. I asked if they could do the alignment but they said they don't offer that service and pointed me to the tire place next door. I'm just blown away by the incredible customer service and ethics of Nick and team. My check engine light went on 3 days ago on my 2016 Ford Edge and the Ford dealership wouldn't even schedule an appointment for me. I was of course terrified of an impending break down, being just shy of 50k miles and in desperate need of a vehicle as I'm starting to commute back to the office again. Recently was stranded via my starter. Had done some research on yelp and facebook and chose Nick. So thankful I did as I have had some recent BAD luck in two other locations. Nick took my towed car right in and had an immediate quote for me. My comfort level was stable and had him look into an additional leak problem. His communication was wonderful and his quote came in $200 lower then the last. He was honest and exact on parts and time spend, even came in a little under his quote. I took my truck in to get a new motor replaced. From when I got the truck back it did not run correctly and eventually ended up blowing it. They took off my radiator mounts and never put them back on and never put the motor in correctly either bolts and hardware were missing from my transmission(a part they weren't supposed to work on) in total a $3000 motor job ended up being over $7500 to fix correctly. When asked if there was anything Nick could do he only got angry and started to cuss at us. -missing bolts in transmission -missing bolts in headers making them warp and not fit new motor -brand new radiator that was correctly installed before came back without bolts and missing the mounts causing a hole to form. -put the wrong parts on motor - gave us a bad motor that already had coolant and gas in the oil. I called Nick this morning to inquire upon an oil change. He said he would get it right in. When I showed up, there was a line of cars and the wife and I prepared for a long wait. Looks were deceiving. The crew had just cleaned the shop and got me in and out with expert efficiency. This is a family owned, LOCAL, shop and they treat you as such. When they say "nice to meet you" as you shake hands you'll find you're reciprocating the feeling. Excellent customer service and a pleasant experience. These guys deserve a shout out We bought our Toyota Avalon 12 years ago and it has been a super smooth riding vehicle that's been easy on gas. In all this time we have been here and there to get minor maintenance and repairs done, but nowhere that has been worth returning to. When we moved to Centennial/Aurora a few years ago we found Big Nicks. I am SO thankful we did! The owner, Nick, and his amazing partner, Jamie, have been incredible. They have built up our trust by letting us know the essential repairs necessary and when we might hold off on less urgent items. This week we bit the bullet and had several repairs fixed up. Today when I picked up our Avalon, it was liking driving her brand new again. She is driving Amazing like we are in the clouds. Oh and the customer service is incredible kind and welcoming. Went in for a free estimate on my truck and the lady at the front desk who helped me was super nice and professional! I had a mechanic who wanted to buy the truck so I sent a family member to pick up truck and get ready to sell while I was working. Nick got angry and charged me $70 for the estimate. When I contacted him about it he said he would refund the $70 because the website clearly states they give free estimates. Never received the refund. I don't recommend this place to anyone if you are looking for a professional Service. Bad business etiquette. read more

We took our truck to Nicks for a small oil leak. We have a new driveway and did not want it to get spotted with oil. The estimate came to $2,200,for the oil leak and a few other things they said were wrong. They changed the hoses on the power steering. When we brought the truck home the power steering was making an awful noise and the truck was now leaking more oil. We took the truck back, still the problem was not fixed. Now we have coolant leaking into the oil. The funny thing is we haven't even driven the truck 50 miles since we took it to Nicks the first time. For the amount of money we paid $2,200.00, we can't even drive our beautiful truck. Nick told my husband he did not feel comfortable working on our truck any more because we complain to much. Buyer Beware! Response to NIcks Auto, your information is incorrect. We never took our truck to 3 other shops. Yours was the first one, and you came highly recommended. We did take the truck back to you, and you told your coworker to check the coolant and put some in. How did you know there would be a problem with that? Now all of a sudden there is coolant leaking into the oil. We took the truck to one othe place,because you told us to take the truck to another garage (because we were too hard to please) we did,and were told the oil is overfilled and had coolant leaking in the oil. Nobody touched the engine but you.The truck is now undrivable, because we do not want to ruin the engine. To resolve this you could have done the work right in the first place. 1. The power steering. 2. The coolant leaking in the oil. 3. The oil leak. We are not hard to please we simply feel that the job should have been done right in the first place. We feel we were set up for more repairs and charges. You took advantage of a senior citizen. Remember you were paid $2,200. You should do the right thing. read more

I stopped by to see if I could get an oil change to fix an issue I had when changing my own oil at home. They were able to squeeze me in which was great but told them I only needed new oil and the oil pan drain valve looked at, the oil filter was brand new. They completed the oil change but changed my filter anyway, not a fan of people that don't listen. Service staff was friendly and they did find the problem. I would most likely return. read more

This place is a joke! I contacted them to purchase a turbo and paid up front. Due to the fact that I live 4 hours away Nick said he would ship it. After payment and being told it was shipped I never received tracking info. After several attempts to get the tracking info I randomly get a text saying he lost the tracking info and I never received the turbo. A week later received another text saying he received the turbo back and has not responded since. My truck is my work horse and he has put me out of work for weeks. I've lived in Denver/Aurora for 10 years and have been going to Big Nick's for about 3 of those years. I wish I would have found them sooner. Great customer service and rates always 5% lower than even the cheapest places around that I've found. That doesn't mean it's less service though! We've had 3-5K worth of work done in the past few years and it's been easy and well worth it. They've always gone above and beyond with even the small things that we bring up.
