Went in to get a price on service for my 5 years old car. I needed a transmission, radiator flush and wanted a price on hoses. The first thing "Pierre" said I have to call to get a price. From that point the guy stopped listening!! Ok I said what's the labor if I provide the hoses. I then asked if we combine the two flush services can I use the Nation wide Big O coupon. The Pierre then focused on not if you supply the hoses. I had to say your not listening I said just the two flush services? He then picked up the phone to call and said while on the phone "I always listen". At that point I said dude I am done and walked out and stated expect to be yelped. The other service writer next to him just grinned at me like this happens all the time. To the owner I did try to get your contact information from the Clayton store this guy Pierre is killing your business. Terrible. Set an appointment online for when they opened (8am) and arrived 5 minutes early to check in my car. After waiting 35 minutes while my car sat in the parking lot, I asked one of the guys what's the hold up to which he replied, "my tire technician isn't in yet." Are you kidding me?!? I asked for my keys back and will never go back with all the options in the market. Les Schwab down the street took me in right away with a far better approach, attitude, and facilities. I was on my way to drop off the kids at school and the tire warning light went off on my car. Fearing an imminent flat, I pulled over to the nearest spot for tire repair at the time, this Big O on Concord Ave. With my kids in the car, Pierre kindly checked the pressure and filled all my tires, which I had just let get too low. Waited over 3 hours to have a new set of tires installed and have the alignment done. There were 2 other people in the lobby when i came in. Extra star because they remounted the spare under the truck when they were done, which was nice. Probably won't return here. LOOK FOR JASON IF YOU EVER NEED TIRE OR COME VISIT THIS PLACE!! Got a flat tire the day before my birthday so I have to get it fix on my birthday in order to drive it to my dinner place, so I found this place which sell tire. Got on spare tire on and bring the broken one to the shop, a nice and tall gentlemen greeted me and input my personal info as a new customer, his name is Jason S., My first time getting a flat tire and I know I'll have to pay over a hundred dollar if I'm getting a new tire, so I gave him the key, sit down and let him take care the rest. After a while he came with a nice smile and told me, "I got it fix for you", while I'm ready to pay, he didn't give me a invoice to pay but a business card, look for me if you ever need new tires. HE FIXED MY TIRE FOR FREE!! I'm not sure if he saw my birthday on my driver license while inputting my info or not, but this is a very very nice birthday gift for me. I would have given this place no stars but thought I would be a bit more kind. I went to this place as a last resort since many of the other tire shops were closed on Sunday. I called to make an appointment 2 hours before my arrival time to avoid further delay of service. The guy on the phone took down my information and I explained what I needed done, only to arrive to a guy that seemed completely clueless of my conversation with him. Then he begins to ask me who I spoke to while mentioning he was the only person there this morning. I was very disappointed with the fact that he seemed unaware, and it only made matters worst that he was rude, and not helpful. 20 minutes into my wait, I realized that I was not going to pay over $500 to have my car serviced by men that were unpleasant so I asked for my keys, and explained that I was disappointed with the fact that he seemed oblivious to the fact that I called this morning and clearly explained what needed to be checked. I walked on and looked else where, and I am glad since I went to Wheel works on parkside dr in Walnut Creek, and I am highly satisfied with the service. read more

These guys have gone above and beyond when it comes to customer service. Ever since I bought my first used car (2004 Honda Civic) I feel like Big O has been next to me the whole time. They helped me buy my first set of tires without any pressure and at a great price. They even threw in a tire car package for free rotation, balancing, tire repair and roadside assistance anytime I need it. After a while I came by for a nail in my tire and decided to ask how much for an oil change. The associate gave my the standard price but also told me there was a coupon online for $20 off. I pulled out my phone to look for it but the associate told me not to worry because he would even look it up for me. A couple months later I needed a new battery and of course this was my first stop they decided to check my starter, alternator and battery to make sure it was what I need. I also bought a truck (Toyota Tacoma) and unfortunately within my first week I got a flat and a nail in my 2 front tires and the guys at Big O gave me a courtesy fix on both tires. I have to say sometimes it is intimidating walking into these places especially if you don't know too much about cars (my girlfriend and I for example) but these guys always made us feel comfortable and once even grabbed my son's toy firetruck out of the car because they saw him looking for it. 1 year from my initial visit I am a very loyal and happy customer and I would recommend these guys to any of my friends read more

I brought my car here for a tire plug after noticing a screw in my tire. I was told it would be no problem, I showed the employee which tire had the hole, and was called within the hour and informed my car was ready. I paid for services and picked up my car only to find the screw still in the tire, my tire more flat than before and the vehicle unmoved from the spot I parked it in when I first dropped it of for repair. There had been NO work done to my car and no apology when I pointed out my car had not been fixed or nonetheless, even touched. Caused me a huge inconvenience and two trips back for what I was told was going to be a simple tire plug. read more

Had a horrible experience today at this Big O. I've been going here for over 5 years and up until today, they've provided good service. My experience from today, however, was so bad I will not EVER go back. I want to preface by saying that I have had over $5,000 worth of work done on my wife's cars, as well as 3 of my own. I have had brakes done, suspension, purchased wheels and tires, alignments, rotations, etc. Basically everything they offer, we've had done on our vehicles. I usually like higher quality equipment then the OEM or lesser quality parts offered at most repair shops so I order my own parts (such as Bilstein shocks/struts or PowerStop/Brembo rotors and calipers) and bring them in to have them installed. Never in the last 5 years has this been an issue... until today. Had they just told me when I made my appointment that they would not install parts that I did not purchase through them, I'd say fine and find a new shop to do it. Instead, they took my appointment knowing that I was bringing my own parts, wait for me to take the entire day off so I could come down to the shop, then at the last minute decide arbitrarily that they now have a policy of not installing "customer parts". It's not like I hand crafted these shocks and struts on my own. They are the #1 manufacture of performance shocks and struts IN THE WORLD. Guess they we hoping I'd put their POS Monroe shocks and struts on my 2017 Explorer Sport. I don't think so. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. I'll never give them my business again. read more

Went in for new breaks. Picked up my car and it was making a weird noise. They forgot to reconnect the air filter.

I had a problem with a clunk in the front end of my Navigator that I had been chasing for some time; the Lincoln dealer in concord (now out of business) couldn't even fix it and did some work on the car it probably didn't even need. Jason spent some time looking over the truck and told me it didn't need the tie rod ends that I thought it needed but rather found the front x-member and trans x-member bolts loose! It's so much better now and they hardly charged me anything to do the work. Great service; I'll be coming back. read more

Keep in mind all Big O Tire Shops are independently owned and operated. For several years now, every time we've needed new tires, we always go to Big O on Concord Ave. We have experienced the best service by Brian and Pierre. Recently went in for new tires and an oil change. Brian made sure I received the best tires for my situation and made sure I was fully informed about what was happening when they found some issues my vehicle was having when they changed the oil. This review is for the store on Concord Ave, but I've the same problem at the store on Clayton on a different vehicle a few years ago too. You cannot put different diameter tires on the same car. My girlfriend went into the store on Concord Ave this morning with a flat and was told that the spare which was 1 inch in diameter smaller would be fine to drive on "for quite some time". Are you kidding me that's like wheel 101. Save yourself and your wallet pains down the road and go to America's Tire or where ever for that matter just not Big O! Hopefully I just need to replace her tire now and not a rear end and tire. read more

Took my truck in for tires and ball joints spent 3000 bucks, a week later i noticed my axle was leaking on the side they replaced my hub because the bearing was bad. I was thinking no problem they touched it they should fix it. Take it down for a day. they never move it just look at it and 7 hours later they say, yep its leaking it will be $1700 bucks to fix it, I tell Jason that since you touch it isn't it you who should fix it? He then tries to blame the trucks age etc, but I'll give you a deal of $800.00 bucks. so i proceed to tell him how i feel i'm being taken for poor workmanship as it never had any problems with gear oil leaking from my truck and give him a chance to split the difference of the 800 and i would pay $400. So i take my truck down Monday as he tells me it's a 2 day job. So after no calls all week i get a call @ 5:30 on Thursday tell me my truck is ready and now i owe $535.00. To make it even sweeter i go down "already pissed" since the price is higher and to my disbelief they didn't put the dust seal on the side they worked on so they hold my truck for another day to fix the problem. At this point i have lost all faith in this shop and after reading YELP reviews it sounds like par for the course. I would stay away from this place like the plague. I will say that after the huge fit i threw they didn't charge me a dime as they should't anyhow since they are the ones that touched it. I believe they do this to try and get more money out of your pocket as they have a rookie crew of mechanics and managers. Stay away my friends read more
