My family and I were In Newport Beach, and we saw a large screw in the sidewall of our car tire. We were supposed to leave earlier the next morning. The problem was this occurred on the weekend and I went to two other shops and they did not have the right tire size and couldn't get them in time for us to leave as planned. I called Bog O and spoke with the service manager, John, and he found the exact tires we needed and got our car fixed and safe for the drive home in a couple of hours. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST. Extremely dishonest. I had a check engine light on because the gas cap wasn't screwed on tight. He said we had to leave it overnight and they'll check the error code for me for free (sounds great). Another mechanic walked by and flat out asked, oh this is the guy that's leaving his car overnight? That was a red flag because he was clearly telling multiple people about this so I told him I'd bring it back tomorrow morning. He said no, I had to leave it overnight. I asked why, he said because they were closing soon. So I said ok, I'll bring it tomorrow morning first thing when they open. He said no, they were booked in the morning. So I asked the obvious question - when were they going to check it then? He said after they close, so I said ok, I'll wait with you. He said no, they will do it in the morning... which brought us back to ok I'll bring it in the morning. Then he just flat out said the only way they'll look at it is if I leave it overnight. What the hell for?? Obviously to do something shady. No integrity. read more

First of all I just want to thank David for his professionalism and patience for the work he's done for me and my car. He was thorough with his work, friendly from the start and attentive to my problems. A little backstory, so I bought a car from a private dealer about a couple months ago and little did I know it came with a list of problems, a list that David here was happy to provide. I came in this morning just to change my brakes, the usual new pads and new rotors and then by mid day David had contacted me about some other issues he saw with my car that needed some attention. Stopped by for a quick tire rotation and they were able to get me in and out within 45 mins. I just went across the street for lunch and when I was done, I got a text that the car was ready. They also checked for a tire leak on my car, but did not find anything. They easily could have charged for that without me knowing, so I appreciate that. When I called, I was greeted by David working the desk. I explained my situation and my plans with him. He said he'd do some research and call me right back. Since I had to drop off some dry cleaning nearby, I decided to stop by and speak in person so I can physically see the tires and quotes. David was still working the front desk! He helped me find the best tire I was needing with the most bang for my buck. David was extremely courteous, respectful of my situation, and was able to help out as much as he could. They have $25 for 4 wheel rotation and balancing coupon online, which sounds really good. I took the coupon and dropped off the car during my lunch break and expected it to be finished after my lunch. I received a call while eating and was told the rear tires were worn and need to be replaced. I knew they were low but they still have about 3/32 left, I declinded the tire offer and requested to do the balancing for two front wheels only. One hour later when I returned. They told me they didn't even touch my car, and told me balancing won't solve my problem unless I replaced the tires and maybe other things in suspension. If you don't want to hornor the online coupon, please don't post it. It is wasting all of our time, giving you nothing but angry customers. read more

This review is long overdue but after a less than savory experience down the street, I was inclined to finally get around to my review of Big O. EXCELLENT SERVICE! You will not be disappointed here. First, they are honest. They have told me what is important to spend money on to get my car safe to drive (e.g., brake pads, rotors, tires) and have advised me to hold off on repairs that might not be worth doing for a 10 year old car that is running fine. Second, the price is very reasonable. They also have a no-interest credit card so that you can pay off your repairs in installments. I had a recent experience where I needed a number of expensive, yet obviously necessary repairs (bald tires, new brakes). Instead of it costing me 1,000 dollars, I can pay 100 a month. No big deal. And it rolls over for every charge, helpful if you have a few things come up over the course of a year. Third, they are fast, communicative, and are very competitive in terms of the price. I would recommend that anyone take their car here for big and small repair needs. read more

I went in for four new tires (and all that goes with it) and was told I also needed brakes. Luckily I did not fall for it (they said I needed them "now") and when I took my car in to the dealer for new brakes a week later, was told that I DON'T need brakes and that I had 30% wear/at least 5,000 miles left on them. So don't trust these guys, I heard another older gentlemen being sold a bill of goods I don't think he needed either and he passed too. "If your Big O brand tire suffers a non-repairable puncture due to a road hazard during the first three years of service. We'll replace it at no charge." These guys are thieves. I had my warranty and apparently no charge means 55 dollars. Here it's where it gets shady. I bring in my tire and I see the fat nail that is causing the leak. I brought the tire in the trunk. I thoroughly inspected it and only found one big fat nail. I take it into big o tires and since I have my warranty, no charge for patch up the one nail. That's my thinking. 20 minutes later I get a call saying I need brakes. I decline and I ask to please just patch up the tire. They agree and hang up. 20 minutes later, oh sir, your tire can't be patched up, there's actually two nails and we need to replace it... Ok, I have the warranty. It should be no charge. They tell me I have to pay 55 dollars. I argue that I have the warranty and it clearly states, "no charge". I get some runaround and bs and just agree to pay for the tire. Last time I ever go to big o tires. save your self the hassle and go elsewhere. Trust me. read more
