After being turned away for being too busy or asked to wait a ridiculous amount of time at locations in San Jose, I received great service here. Lester helped me with a tire rotation and I was out the door in literally 30 mins. I went at 2:00pm on a Wednesday so maybe I got lucky. George and his team were so helpful to me on multiple occasions... 1. About to leave town with my van loaded to gills, I noticed a slow leak in one of my newly purchased tires. (I picked up a screw!!!!) It was a Saturday and was crunched for time. George and his team repaired the tire so very quickly and saved the day! 2. Funny how they are asking me to change my cabin air filter they haven't look before asking. ( I vacuum the cabin air filter and clean the hell out it before coming to this place. How the hell the mechanic thinks its dirty and needs replacing. The same as the engine filter its not that dirty cuase I checked it. I was only expecting to get tire change. They inspect my car and did poorly. Mechanic is saying i need to change my rear strut was hoping the front cuase it needs replacing. Are they trying to get customers to fix things that is not broken. I got all four tires here at Big O Tires a little over a year ago and was told they offered the first tire rotation for free. Whoever scheduled my appt over the phone was very nice. But when I dropped off my car, the guy was unfriendly and unpleasant. David Gee didn't bother to greet me and I was the only person waiting in their lobby at 7:30 in the morning. When helping me, he didn't provide an estimate or confirm that it would be free after looking up my car in the system. Total lack of basic customer service skills. When I picked up my car it was a completely different experience. I was instantly greeted by Linda with awesome positive energy. She reviewed everything they had done and recommendations for the future. She's a gem who reminded me of the quality service I was used to when this place was Pacific Tires. This is the most terrible place I've been to. Def deserves 0/5. I was visiting from sacramento and when I arrived I noticed that one of my tires was flat. I took my car here for my tire to get patched as it was the closest shop available. The guy at the front desk, I believe his name is Manny was super rude. To make matters even worse, I paid $50 for my tire to get patched to only find that the problem wasn't even fixed. Left the shop with my tire PSI at 42 and within an hour, it went down to 32. After a long trip the tire pressure sensor indicated low pressure. I took the car to this Big O location and they checked to individual tire pressures and found no issues. They instructed me to reset the sensor and explained that it was likely due to the car hitting a pothole or bump. The notification cleared and I left. This is a dishonest place. I made an appointment to get my tire repair. The lady asked me all the information (made of the car and year, mileage) when I arrived. I gave her the key and wait at the job. After 20 to 30 minutes. She called me that they could not repair my tire due to this is an original tire from Manufacturer. Less than 6 years and around 30000 miles. I asked the representative why didn't she tell me up front. She claimed she did not know, then her manager just pop up asked me the service for coolant change. Because the coolant could be discolored. I never hear of that and I told him I just have my car PM for 30,000 miles. Do not sell me for that. The representative kept asking me for my budget and kept pushing to change all four tires. I told her please take my car out of the garage and will never come back to a place like that. I went to other tire shop and asked them whether there would be a rule not to repair a tire for 6 years. I drop my car early morning and I told the agent that I need an oil change and tire repair for my rear tire, I asked the agent how long they will fix it and he said 2-2.5 hours, I decided to wait because nobody will pick me up. They park my car in the parking area for along time and nobody advise me the status of the issue, after 5.5 hours I called my friend to pick me up due to I feel hungry and I am dizzy because I am not feeling well. 1 hour before closing I phoned the customer service if my car is ready for pick up, one lady customer service told me it's ready for pick up. When i about to pay the charges I asked this lady if they fix the issues Including the tire repair and she said yes they all fixed the issue. I'll pay the bills and after a few hours the tire inflated again which means they didn't fix it, Why this company charge me without doing the service, this is unfair. Beware of the price difference!! I made an appointment online and it quoted me $120 for 4 tire installation. But when I went in person I was quotes $60 more. I dropped off my car at 12:30pm and I was told it will take 1-1.5hrs. I Ubered home for my meeting/work. I called again at 2:30PM and they told me that I am next and that it will take another hr. I Ubered here at 4PM (1.5hr later) and was told that they need another hr... they said they were so back up today that it is taking longer. But they did not say that when I dropped off my car or when I called them to check at 2:30PM. If they told me that, I would have came in later and not have to call off my 4:30PM meeting because my car was not ready when they said it would be. Don't waste your time here. I just bought new tires for my wife's car and I wanted to do tire alignment. For some reason, the auto shop we normally go to closed during COVID. We decided to drop by at Big O. When arrived, the gentleman that helped us said there was 2 people ahead of us so the wait would be about 40-45 minutes. Due to cold weather, it was bad that we had to wait by standing outside and wished they had chairs for customers to sit. It was already past 40-45 minutes and our car was still not inside the garage. I was getting annoyed and noticed they were still working on the customer's car before us. After about an hour, they finally took our car inside for alignment. It took another 20 minutes and it was done. All of the staff were very nice and helpful, but the wait was longer than I expected. If only we knew, we would had just brought another car to run errands and come back later. read more

I just called and spoke to Brandon who had no interest in helping me and wanted to brush me off to fleet sales. Be aware of this big-o-tires location! As other reviewers mentioned, they will have you replace all 4 tires for a problem in one tire. They claim the tires have life time warranty and they will cover whatever happens to the tire BUT thats a LIE! I purchased 4 tires, one tire had a small bubble on side when it was installed, that time the service rep mentioned its nothing to worry about and I can bring the car in in case of any issues.. Few months later the bubble started to grow and now they are asking me to replace the tire on my cost because there is a possibility it will burst. If you want horrible service please visit Big O Tires. Came here to get my tire patched since I couldnt make it to my preferred shop. The next day it started leaking. Took it to my long time tire shop and noticed two things. Horrible repair work, where they patched the hole was off centered and missed. My preferred shop poked through a thin metal to show me the hole vs the patch. You'll be dumbfounded how horrible the tech missed the hole. Another thing was that they damaged my new tire! They were able to take a good chunk of tire off the center. Good thing it doesn't leak but I'm forced to change due to the terrain me and my family go through while dispersed camping. I can easily go back demand my refund but I wouldn't want to waste my time again. Note this place replaced Pacific Tires, so you will not get that qaulity service as before. Yelpers, you can pretty much ignore the last 10 years of reviews here because this place is now Big O Tires. PHIL HAS RETIRED! Big O bought out Phil undoubtedly for his loyal customer base. Well this is one loyal customer that won't be coming back. Went in to have a tire repaired last week and was surprised when I was greeted in the parking lot by the manager. I was like WTF this is weird, I was looking forward to the usual sparring with Phil. The manager told me about the buyout and then led me into the barren waiting room(see attached pic). Thankfully they are honoring Phil's road hazard warranty and I left the car to have the screw removed and the tire plugged. They texted me an hour later to say the car was done. Came back, picked up my paperwork and went to my car which was weirdly parked in the exact same spot. Luckily I looked at the tire and there was the screw in the tire. THE CAR HAD NOT EVEN BEEN MOVED. Thankful that I did not just drive away and have to take another afternoon out of work when I would have discovered the screw days later. I brought out one of the techs out and showed him the tire and he cringed. It took them almost another hour to get the car in the shop and fixed. Manager stated we must have put your paperwork on the done pile. OK fine, I get it, growing pains and a bit of chaos in the transition. Patch was added to the tire and I drove away. Writing this review right now after coming out of work 3 days later and seeing my supposedly repaired tire nearly flat. Limped to a gas station and pumped it up so I can get home. Also noticed the tech didn't bother save to my chrome valve stem cover which pretty much cemented my impression of the half-assed service. So in summary... Got a nail in my tire. Came in to have it looked at. I asked if it can be repaired and they said very likely. I waited almost two hours before they said it cannot be repaired since it's on the shoulder, and they need to order a new tire. I was outside looking and saw the technician only raised the car to locate the nail and to take a closer look. I decided to leave and to order the tire myself. But before I get a new tire, I wanted a second opinion because I felt the nail is in a place that can be repaired so I went to American Tire on Brokaw. They took a look and repaired it within 35 mins; with live web based status alerting when the work was started and when it was completed. The technician there took the tire off the wheel and rim to assess it before making the repair too. And it was also free of charge. I recommend everyone do consider for a 2nd opinion or goto a honest shop like America tire on brokaw. read more

What happened to this place? I came here about 6 months ago and replaced four tires and had a good experience, today was the exact opposite. My tire had a nail in it, so I came in to get it fixed. After examining the problem, they said the tire had to be replaced. Since I had a good experience the previous time, I didn't question their analysis and agreed to pay the $320 or so for one tire. They removed my flat tire and popped in my spare, and I was on my way home. They would call me tomorrow when my tire came in, and all I had to do was to bring the car back and get the new tire mounted. Sounds like a great plan! Next Day: 1pm - Called Big O. Is my tire there yet? Response: yes, it is here. It should be ready in an hour. 3pm - Called Big O. Is my tire ready yet? Response: Almost, 1 more person ahead of you, it should be ready in an hour. My response, I really need it before 6pm, because I have to pick up the kids. At this point, I was getting nervous about the time. 4:45 pm - Called Big O. Is my tire ready yet? Response: Yes it is. I live 5 minutes away and drove my car to Big O. With an hour to spare, I stopped worrying. 5:45 pm - after waiting patiently for an hour, the customer service person was busy talking to someone for 30 minutes about who knows what. I told him I really need to go because of my situation. The customer service person gets upset and gives mean look. At this point I gave up, called my wife knowing she had plans, and asked her to cancel her plans and get the kids. You guys all know what happens when you ask your wife to cancel her plans on a Friday Night and get the kids, especially when she has planned for it the entire week. Overall, this really sucked! All they had to do was say, "Hey we are busy today, can you come Saturday", instead of dragging out my entire day to fix one tire. Never coming back here again. To be clear, I did not go through with the service here. I came in for a tire patch and left with the gentlemen telling me they can't touch my tire because it is 6 years old and it is against federal law to even touch them. He told me I needed all new tires and that they have the best deal. I told him I would need to think about it some more. After calling to a few different places and asking about the federal law the gentlemen shared with me, all 4 places I called told me 6 year old tires were fine to work on. As a female, I often experience car dealerships and auto repairs shops trying to take advantage of the fact that some females may not know much about cars. I was hoping this place would be different since I saw a few other females waiting at this shop, but unfortunately I was wrong and hope that no one else got convinced into paying more than they need. Brought my mom and her Lexus GS 300 to get a basic oil change and check-up in advance of a road trip. Seemed to go without a hitch, with just a comment that the radiator would probably need to be replaced at some point later this year. After a few days in our garage, we noticed a massive oil leak that wasn't there before - but we didn't have time to investigate before we had to go on our trip. After we came back, we returned to this shop and had the staff look into it. They told us there was indeed a major leak, oil was everywhere, and the engine would need to be taken out to be cleaned - labor probably costing thousands. Asked why this wasn't caught during the oil change, but they deflected all responsibility. Finally got a small apology after a while, but no compensation or remediation. Now we're likely going to need a new car... outrageous. read more

So in 2022 I came to Big O' Tires and got all brand new tires and a new battery.. Recently my battery died and luckily I knew my battery had a 2 year warranty and everything. Come to find out when I brought my battery to another location of theirs because I moved. The battery was never replaced and the worker told me the battery was from 2017 & it wasn't the right battery that was on the receipt that was given to me. The worker and I called this place and we were told that we were speaking to the general manager and when we told him what happened.. all he could say is " that wouldn't happen down here." well that's exactly what happened. Recently had them refuse to back their tires by insisting that 2 Pirelli tires on opposite sides of the car that had large chunks come out of the tread were damaged by "road hazards". But then they wouldn't make their commission if they did the right thing, would they. They insisted my wife buy 2 new tires for over $700. So I took my Lexus to big o tires in another location ( I won't mention name). I ordered a set of cooper endeavor in stock size and set appointment about one week ahead. They installed bigger size tires in which caused it to rub. Gave them a call and went back a week after to get them exchange to the right size. They installed a set of copper procontrol on without telling me about it. The new set makes very loud road noise. At this point I'm done with that location and never wanted to go back there again. Called Milpitas location to see what could be done. David picked up the phone and told me to bring it in. I went in on Saturday and David educated me a little bit about which kind of tires would be best for my driving. He's very knowledgeable. Big shout out to David and his team for making things right. I've been bringing my cars here for years and Phil always gave it to me straight. Phil is no longer the face of the company. Today, after dropping off the car at 9:30, the service manager assured me the tires were in transit to the shop and the car would be ready by lunch. After riding my bike over at 1230, the car was still on the lift and the service manager tells me "25-30 minutes, just doing the alignment.". I go grab lunch and come back and wait and wait. At 2:15 walk into the garage and the wheels are off, old tires still on the rims. 5 hours after car drop off, I'm biking back to work.
