    Chili Cheese fries
    Eric R.

On a very busy Monday for myself, I found myself stopping in here for a bite to eat. I definitely had a craving for some chili cheese fries and it was just my luck I found this place! My main gripe with most places is that they pile on the chili and the fries get soggy pretty quickly. This place does it better and while the topping isn't drenched in sauce, it's well seasoned and a tasty snack. The burger was cooked well, and wasn't anything fancy but tasty and nicely wrapped. This is the perfect kind of place to grab a bite to eat for an otherwise hectic day. The owners of the place were extremely friendly and that alone is a solid reason for me to always sing the praises of a small business. I am very much looking forward to trying more of their yummy chili too :)

Very quirky little burger and sandwich restaurant I stopped through on a whim before going to an afternoon film. Big Time is owned and run by an Asian couple, a curmudgeon and suspicious husband and a charming and hard-working wife, both well in on their years, as they've been at it for 45 years!!! He manages the register and she does the cooking. They both said they are retiring soon. Try as you might, and as I did, they avoid being photographed... The food here is basic but good; burgers, sandwiches, fries, a gyro or two. I got the bacon mushroom Swiss burger and left it at that. Not the most appealing thing to the eye after having my "for here" lunch wrapped all too tightly in some yellow paper. Who cares, not I. I scarfed my burger in like 2 minutes, liked the textures enough but felt the patty itself could use some seasoning. I also felt it had a wee bit too much mayo for my taste, but for $12 and change all in, it hit the spot. If you are in the neighborhood...

Bro $17 for this is absolutely ridiculous...wheres all the meat!? super disappointed and still hungry ! lol

Plain Cheeseburger w/ extra cheese. This and a can of Coke was $11.18 after tax. At the expense of no toppings or sauce, the burger has a great charbroiled taste along with the American slices. Imagining this with the toppings and sauce would hit a lot harder. Service was seamless and the elder Asian couple who work Big Time were quick and efficient. Quaint spot with a couple of inside seats and one outside table.

This came to our searches when we are looking for a burger place in the area. It is off 170 at Magnolia - on the right side at the corner of Colfax. It doesn't look like much when you pass it, but since my SO is starving we went in. We both ordered the Cheeseburger combo. And Wow.. I am impressed. The first bite was really delish and you can taste the charbroil. The steak fries are really good too. I will definitely comeback and try the other burger combos. We didn't wait long for our orders. Small place with bar type tables. One table outside but it's not recommended with all the fumes coming from the cars. This burger place had been here for 40yrs. It is a husband and wife team. Limited parking space.

I wanted something quick and so glad I stopped here. The meat was juicy and loved the sauce in the burger. The hit was the chili cheese fries, so good!! I'll absolutely be back not just for the food but the welcoming owners. Thanks Big Time Burgers

Old man at the counter rude and pushy trying to rush you to order something when it's only me no other customers. Didn't help out with anything asked what's good or popular nothing. Mainly they got burgers and couple other fries appetizers Ordered gyros sandwich which was actually pretty good. Order of cheese fries nice crispy alittle to much salt

What a hidden gem Big Time Burgers is. It definitely a hole in the wall place that is run by mom and pop's who are very nice. The burger are fantastic and well put together. The fries are nicely done. BURGERS: Avocado Cheeseburger: Good Avocado Bacon Cheeseburger: Good Pastrami Cheeseburger: Good but just wish they added my pastrami. What's even better is a starting Combo will run you under $10. PARKING: They share lot with Yum Yum Donuts and street parking.

This place holds a lot of memories. I went to the high school across the street and would get chili cheese fries all the time. I went back recently with my best friend and it tasted exactly the same! Same owners too! Add a little ketchup and it is perfect, just the way I remembered it. Their burgers are also a decent size and delicious! The price is average. Check it out and support small businesses.

I was given a brief explanation of the type of chili Chili John's serves, and the reason a "base" was needed which in my case I chose spaghetti and beans; others might chose one or the other, nothing or something else completely. The menu also explains the process. I was allowed to try a sample spoon of the spicy chili to see if I wanted a full serving of that or mild. I ended up deciding on medium, which, somehow logically was simply a half mild / half spicy serving . It was fine by me and I thought it was delicious. The ambiance is as to be expected for an establishment that's been around almost a 100 years. It adds to the character, as some might say, including me. I happened to be visiting during Chili John's 80yr anniversary month. Maybe some anniversary specials would have been good. After speaking with my grandparents when trying to figure out where to get food what they shared has left a bad taste in my mouth: My grandparents had an uncomfortable experience here a while back. My grandmother, who needs assistance walking, was going next door to get her haircut like she regularly does. Since they couldn't find parking nearby, my grandfather temporarily parked in the handicap spot behind chili Johns so he could help her safely into the salon before moving the car. Instead of simply just asking him to move it, the manager followed them into the salon and waited there, watching them until my grandfather came back outside to move the car. We completely understand enforcing parking rules, but the way the situation was handled felt excessive and unnecessarily uncomfortable for two elderly people who were just trying to safely get to an appointment.

For our side, we shared the loaded tots. They were crispy, well-seasoned, and a great addition to the meal. Service was good overall. The cashier seemed a little serious at first and didn't really greet us, but when we asked to swap out a drink, she was very accommodating and didn't charge us extra. There was a small misunderstanding when I asked about side options, but she quickly explained that another table had the menu and went to grab one for us. She was friendly and helpful throughout the rest of the interaction. The restaurant was clean, which I always appreciate. The atmosphere could use a little improvement, though. It felt a bit stuffy inside, two of the three menu screens weren't working, and it was very quiet with no music playing, which made the dining room feel a little empty. They have loads of vegetarian options and just about any of them can be made vegan. Their default bread/buns are the King Hawaiian rolls which are vegetarian, made with rich sugar, butter and eggs. I don't eat at D.H. locations often so I sometimes forget O.o Came in with my boyfriend before a screening at Warner Bros ironically enough and we had a nice pre-movie meal. Their Beyond Brat and SoCal Veggie (hold the aioli for me) are my go-tos for sure, but definitely thinking about an Haus Burger next time as they have impossible. From classic dogs, burgers, tenders, wings, nuggets and sandwiches to plant-based and easily modifiable options D.H. has a good variety. All items are individual so if you want more of a meal you'll have to purchase more. What I didn't know is that the Burbank location actually is priced more reasonable than their neighboring locations in North Hollywood, Northridge, Dog Haus Biergarten in the more northern part of Burbank on the cusp of Sun Valley and Larchmont/Hollywood. I would assume being a chain all the prices are relatively the same, but they actually have the best deals by a couple dollars to cents. I haven't had their impossible nuggets or tenders at this location but will absolutely be tending to those for next time. Everything is well made, the service is excellent, and the entire layout feels inviting. They have gender neutral restrooms, all very clean. Indoor or outdoor seating available. Canned or bottles beverages to grab, not to mention classic fountain style soda/soft drink/tea/lemonade dispenser. You can enjoy music and the latest on goings on their flat screen in the main dining area. There's free Wi-Fi, beer & wine available + their pup friendly, which is always a win in my book. It's somewhat limited seating, but a variety of it from higher tables to lower sit down style. Definitely a fan of this fast casual style chain and location, but do wish they have some dairy and egg free bread/roll nom-options. They have no gluten free bun options as well, so maybe a vegan friendly gluten free option would be the way to go in the future ;) You can get a lettuce wrapped burger, sandwich, sausage or dog and I highly recommend it for their burgers, pretty interesting with their links. Additional they serve breakfast in the forms of burritos, so it might be possible to do it this way as well (with a tortilla). Parking lot is easy, though not very big, and even when full there's street/residential parking close by. We got one of the very first spots, which is a swell way to get off to a great start at this German inspired all American Haus of eats.

When I politely pointed out that I had already been waiting a long time and that my order was ready, the employee still refused to hand it to me. Instead, I was left waiting even longer for no apparent reason. This was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. The staff needs to communicate better, treat customers and delivery drivers with respect, and hand out completed orders as soon as they are ready.
