Fried green tomatoes - 3/5 (lots of extras that masked the flavor of the tomatoes a little too much) but was tasty. Blackened Brie - 5/5 Roasted beet salad -3/5 (arugula was kind of wilted) French onion soup - 3/5 Fried oyster salad - 5/5 Scallops - 3/5 (the tomato risotto tasted like it was made with jarred spaghetti sauce and way too much sugar. It was that sweet) Filet mignon - 4/5 (steak was great, mashed potatoes were cold and the kale was sugar sweet) Ribeye - 4/5 (steak was great, fingerling potatoes were cold and lacked flavor but were crispy and well cooked) The filet was undercooked and they forgot to substitute mashed potatoes on the ribeye. Service was good, our server was great! Bathrooms are a little outdated. My biggest red flag - the chairs are horrible here. They don't have enough support and you sink into it so much that the wooden frame of the chair is pushing into your thighs the whole time. Ended finding Bijoux after another local restaurant canceled our reservation with only a hour notice and I have to say it must have been meant to be. The staff got us in within a hour and our server Michael was amazing. He told us the specials and gave us recommendations... I ended up having the Comboy Ribeye and my husband had the lobster tail, both meals were cooked to perfection, I've never had a better steak. For dessert I had the Chocolate Hazelnut cake and my husband had the apple cheesecake, both were delicious, the chocolate cake had the best mousse The atmosphere was calm, quiet and relaxed, all the staff all were on top of keeping our water glasses refilled and plates bussed. read more

After desperately googling places that would still be open after 9pm at 8:45 on a weeknight, we called Bijoux to see if we could still get in and they kindly waited for us, as we arrived just as the kitchen would be closing. What an amazing surprise! The food was amazing and our server was wonderful. It's a bit of an older crowd and the ambiance was a little weird and too-quiet but what's not weird post-covid? The fried green tomato appetizer was better than any I've ever had due to a very unique preparation which I'm not going to reveal here but I suggest you try them for yourself! Literally the best dining experience I've EVER had. Picked the spot while on vacation for my boyfriend's birthday. The service was superb, I can't say enough positive things about Genie. So knowledgeable about the menu & attentive to literally every need. We ordered the crab beignets & the duck confit... both were AMAZING in both presentation & taste. For entrees, we ordered the Roasted Airline Chicken, which was extremely succulent & I couldn't eat the polenta & broccoli fast enough. The fried Brussels were a perfect texture contrast. The veggie plate needs a magazine cover all its own, honestly. Apparently the sous chef is responsible for creating the veggie plates & on this particular night, the line cook arranged it. Pictures don't do it justice. It was simply AMAZING. I smell a James Beard in the future. Defies any veggie plate you've ever had, I promise. Couscous & cauliflower, baby carrots, tempura haricot vert, topped with arugula salad... all atop a Thai yogurt sauce & balsamic drizzle. Everything was simply amazing. Can't rave enough. Our experience started a bit confusing and frustrating, but ended great. Keep in mind, we got a reservation in the middle of pandemic. Anyway, long story short, we couldn't find this place for half hour as GPS map says we were in the location. We called the place and it says it was disconnected. Whoa! Thought we were pranked. I even checked their social media and a post was made five days prior to our reservation. It was really weird. We drove off frustrated. We got a voice mail ( luckily! -- Bec we couldn't find a place to eat in the area; it's the pandemic!!); hosts left a message making sure we don't lose our table. My friend called the number the host left to call angrily. We got to the place and our mood changed. Food was very good and fresh. Server was pleasant and accommodating. So, I would have given this a higher rating BUT: 1) they told us they had a kids menu but it is not printed so you are at their mercy. They recite verbally the kid choices. Our children chose their preference. We were surprised to learn that a KID MEAL COSTS $21! Our other daughter's meal was $9. They should be transparent about this. This is not professional or customer-centric. 2) They charged us $2 to split a salad without telling us. That is a 14% up charge for using a second plate. COME ON! Do not go here. First this place is amazing. Our waiter Jacob was the best. For starters my wife and I had the Crab Beignets, "AMAZING". Even though I'm not a fan of cole slaw. And the swordfish soup was great. For the entree I had the Grouper Almandine I was good but not what I expected. I'm guessing it's because this was my first time having grouper but if that's the case I'm not a fan. My wife had the Black Skillet Filet Mignon which was mouth watering. For dessert I had the Cheesecake du Jour which had caramel on it, in opinion was a fail. It was ok but caramel and cheesecake don't mix. My wife initially had strawberry shortcake but they but chocolate on it that threw off the entire taste but we exchanged it for the Chocolate Hazelnut Cake which was awesome. Especially with the ice cream. I would definitely come back to try a couple more dishes. This is a great relaxing place to come enjoy your. Oh and I had the Abstract wine. I wish I could give this a 6 star review. I travel a lot and love to try new restaurants each place I stay. My experience here was top notch from start to finish. Before this I had never had a dining experience where there was nothing that could have been better. The waitress(a young blonde woman with a slight accent) was extremely friendly and gave us great recommendations about what on the menu we might like. We got the pork belly as an appetizer, the red snapper and grouper as our entrees, the Nutella cheesecake for dessert. For our drinks we went with the grapefruit martini and lemon/strawberry martini. We went here last night and it was delicious! We had the brie appetizer that was the best brie we've ever had. I had the scallops and my husband had the black skillet filet mignon and we both loved our food. Service was excellant. Only thing I'd change is request my lobster tail broiled and not fried. Bijoux is slightly buried within a courtyard of a local shopping area. You will not see it from the front, so my advice is to drive around the back and park. There is a fairly romantic and upscale feel to the place which also houses a more contemporary full bar at it's entrance. Service - The service was wonderful. Courteous, attentive, and well-informed regarding wine and the food being served. No complaints here. Food - This was much more to be desired. The blackened brie was a worthwhile choice and it this author's only recommendation in this review. On special was a creole tomato and shrimp bisque, which was disappointing in that the only taste mustered was that of a burned roux (a cardinal sin for any Louisianian). The filet was not terrible, but was simply mediocre - fairly bland and paired terribly with bacon sauteed kale which overpowered the steak's flavor profile by a sizable margin. Worse yet, one of my party opted to add lobster with the steak. WARNING to any who wish to entertain this option, the lobster is fried! This was an expensive lesson to learn as we probably wouldn't have opted in had this fact been made clear. When brought up, the response was "that's how we've always done it". Overall - As much as I wanted to like this place, the evidence of a good meal just was not there. If you wish to try this place, I hear the grouper is good, but do your diligence and ask questions to make sure you are getting what you want. From my standpoint, this was a large tab for a meal choice that I regret. I don't like being this person (proven by my multitute of other reviews), but three strikes...you are out, Bijoux. Also, there is a well-meaning wine list with plenty of good choices...but have more than one in mind, as the stock may work against you. read more

A hidden gem! Trying to find it is the only negative. It is in the back of the shopping plaza. You can't see anything from the road. It's worth the effort to find. We went there last night after hearing they were known for their steaks. The filet was amazing, cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits and they were just okay. The reason for giving this restaurant 3 stars is because of the service. We weren't greeted for almost 10 minutes and when we were, we felt very rushed. We don't except this when we go to a fine dining restaurant. We ordered a bottle of wine thinking this was going to be an experience where we could sit and enjoy ourselves. That wasn't the case, the food came out 5 minutes after we ordered and we felt rushed to eat that as well. If we are spending 200+ dollars on a meal, we would expect to be there more than 30 minutes, and we weren't. Good food, not great service. read more

I know three stars sounds low given that I actually had a really lovely night here. My husband and I went with a group of friends. The cocktails were the best part- inventive and delicious. The appetizers were something with crab and the baked brie. Although they were soooo good, I could not believe how small the brie was. 4 of us wanted to split the two apps but there was barely enough brie to each have a bite. My husband ordered steak (rare) and it was overcooked and not good- the quality of cut just wasn't what we expected at a place like this. I got the oyster salad as my meal because it sounded so interesting, but it was pretty boring, and I only ended up eating a couple bites. I will probably go back when I'm there for a conference in the future because the atmosphere and drinks are nice, but I did not feel it was worth the money ($150 with tip for my husband and me, 2 cocktails each, appetizer, 1 salad, 1 entree). read more

A serious restaurant in Destin/Sandestin. Have been frequenting this restaurant since it opened in Baytowne Wharf which it outgrew years ago. Through two wonderful owners it became much better than where it was. Now right outside the gates of Sandestin and no longer plagued by the fictitious fees and taxes supporting the developer, this restaurant shines and brightly! Everything is right, the design, staff, bar and especially the food. Have never had a meal that wasn't superior to any other restaurant within 10 miles. It's just all good. Price for product is right on the point and atmosphere in or outdoors only enhances the total experience. If you are looking for a fine dining experience and not expecting chain restaurant or tourist prices ....there are only two around Sandestin....Bistro Bijou and Seagar's at the Hilton. And for the buck...there are no better two. read more

We were looking forward to eating at Bijoux this past week, as it had great reviews. They were very slow taking our order, bringing drinks, bringing out the food, and there weren't 4 other tables filled. We had to ask for bread. The runners (table cleaners), not our server, came out and just took away the remainder of our appetizer before we had finished. The other runner came and took my bread while I was still eating my main course. The grouper almandine was very bland, with a thick crust without much flavor. Needless to say we were VERY disappointed, and wouldn't recommend Bijoux based on our experience. read more
