Not impressed. Slow service, unpresentable plates and sticky tables. This little Texas Roadhouse wannabe missed the mark.

My husband and 4 daughters stopped here on the way home from a week long trip. We walked in and got seated right away. Our server greeted us and took our drink order right away. She was very friendly. She returned with our drinks and then took our food order. Two of our girls ordered kid ribs. One ordered grilled cheese. The last ordered a plain cheeseburger. I ordered the cod sandwich and my husband had the loaded baked potato with a salad. The food was all ok. Nothing stood out to me as out of this world fantastic. Kid meals were all the common kid meals. They served warm buns with honey butter. My girls all devoured that!! Over all food was good. The place is very family friendly (my girls thought it was pretty fun throwing their peanut shells all over the floor), and the service was fantastic. If my family is hungry while in this area again we would stop again. read more

The only reason they are not getting 5 stars is because it's so loud in there. The acoustics are terrible. That being said- the food is always a solid choice that will fill you up. And who doesn't love throwing peanut shells on the floor?!? The servers are almost always engaged, energetic, and on top of things. They pay attention to their tables and either anticipate drink refills needed or at least ask if you want a refill. Great local spot. read more

Terrible experience unfortunately for a large group if you come in without a reservation. Instead of a very sincere, " Sorry, we won't seat more than the ten already at your table, but we will do our best to find a table nearby so you can be close"... this is after it clearly says on their front door window that they accept parties of 20, without mentioning reservations... here is what we were told, " The table is already full. You can sit at the bar or put your name down on a wait list for a table... you should have made reservations ". With all that said, we couldn't leave as we were there to celebrate a retirement. We ordered at the bar ( food was good), but overall very disappointed with guest services. This company (and their corporate credit cards) will not return knowing the customer is basically lectured and not accommodated without feeling like it's a huge imposition on the manager. read more

Salmon and baked sweet potato dinner is delicious. Brown sugar and butter on the potato or on the side. Would not recommend the Reuben sandwich, though. It was very dry with little dressing. read more

A year ago I left the opposite review. What a difference a year makes. Service was inattentive, food was wrong and dead by the time it made it to the table, we waited over 30 minutes after we ate for our bill and when we tried to address it with the manager they were not available. We even tried to send them an email, the response was basically - an auto reply. Won't be back and no longer recommend. read more

Have eaten here several times before but this was the final straw..seated in the bar area and then table of 8 VERY LOUD people seated right next to us so we could not even hear each other..Did not ask to be seated in bar and would not again but that was not the worst..had a french dip sandwich and the meat was like it had been left for a long time and then thrown in the aujus and thrown in a sandwich with just bread..no cheese, no mayo.dry and beef chewy and lots of grizzle..if they are cutting back on quality to save money.not a good iea. No going back. With $$ amount the same as other places..will go where the quality is good. read more

Food was ok not great, waiters sat our group of 7 at a booth with a table shoved up to it! We have some Big guys and they could not fit, asked to be moved to tables and they said we would have to wait 30 mins there were four tables for 6 all sitting there empty! Quick pit stop for dinner. Stopped in around 7pm. The restaurant was busy with quite a few tables with customers. Noise level wasn't too loud tonight and conversation was easy to have. Our sever was attentive and friendly. He made us feel welcome and had a good time with us. He went out of his way to make sure our to go bags had our food and he threw in some of the rolls. Food was good. Not for my wife she got the chicken sandwich and it was not put together and she had to rearrange it so she could eat it. The service was good. I've been to Billygan's many many times over the years before i spent any time on Yelp. Tonight, i finally took time to check in and wrote a review. Michelle was our server. Smiled and upbeat every time she came by. Came by A LOT. We had a couple ipa beers & mixed drinks - a long with our meals. Only $5 for beer/$4.50 mixed. Wife had Salmon ($21) & I had 1/2 rack baby back ribs ($18). Im not exaggerating- this was the best restaurant meal we've eaten in a long time. My rib meat literally did fall off the bone onto my plate. My wife's salmon was perfect. The rolls and honey butter was amazing!! My sweet potato fries were crisp, crunchy and hot. Better than any I've ever had. I don't normally give a 5 star (see my other critical reviews) - but the server, the cook/chef, the price/value was ON POINT. They nailed it tonight. read more

Stopped in for lunch: first time visiting. The decor is dark yet pleasant & so very nice to have been seated by the lovely, large fireplace. The bowl of peanuts waiting at our table was enjoyable & fun to toss the shells on the floor. VERY pleased with our lunch & even more so with our server Michelle, who was very attentive & always with a smile. After ordering, we were served warm (ciabatta stole) sweet rolls, evidently made in- house! My man had a shaved beef sandwich which appeared to be on a (long ciabatta type) roll that also appeared to have been made in-house! I enjoyed a Chef Louie salad with side of sweet potato fries- OMG, soooo good! The salad was made with romaine & iceberg lettuce, or I was given choice of just one type of lettuce, but chose to keep the blend. Cannot say enough good about our visit & will happily return to try more of their offerings. Billygans has always been my go to steak house. Last year I ordered a medium rare rib up. The price was a few cents short of $28.00. The steak was horrible. Thin, over cooked, full of gristle and hard to chew. Took most of home for my dog. Went last night and decided no steak again so I ordered medium rare Prime Rib. It was horrible! It had a small center that was on the pink side the rest was like shoe leather. It was very thin and again just full of gristle. I ate as much as I could but never again. The beef they are buying is not top quality. Waitress said they cut their own steaks and boy are they thin. I don't even think they are correct on the ounces they are charging for. If I ever go back it will be for a sandwich and a dirty sundae. NEVER will order their beef again. There are no steak houses left in Vancouver now. Very disappointing. read more

I arrived at Billygans at 4pm and placed an order for three ribeye wit two sides. After I was finished, paid, then waited in the lobby while a friend used the facilities, I noticed the special was the same size ribeye with one side for $6.50 cheaper. So why didn't the waitress mention the special to me to opt for it? I feel cheated. read more

First the peanuts on the floor (speaking as a wheelchair user) are nasty having to roll through. My daughter and I went there for happy hour. The bar does not have seating at wheelchair level only high tops or raised booths. We asked if there was any table accessible for me. We got the dead stare (as if my request was unreasonable). We asked if we could sit at the lower tables on the floor directly next to bar. Reluctantly we were allowed to. We expressed our gratitude repeatedly only to be told that if we ever came back not to expect this accommodation. The staff came back to take our order which we ordered happy hour menu items and again we got this drawn out explanation of how this was not typically allowed. We reminded her that had there been a standard or wheelchair accessible table in the bar we would have happily sit there. The waitress continued to explain how Billigans doesn't allow this. We asked so are you saying people in wheelchairs are not allowed to partake in your happy hour menu because you don't have a place for disabled people to sit in the bar? And she proceeded to tell us that it's just not allowed. Now I feel completely unwelcome, so I asked if I should speak to a manager. She tells me she is a manager and while she will allow us to order from the HH menu she just wants to make sure we know it's not typically allowed. She returns a 3rd time asking if we needed anything and we informed her that my husband would be joining us. Again she went into another explanation that a large party could not be accommodated in this section with the happy hour menu. When is 3 people a large party? This waitress did everything she could to make me feel unwelcome and as a burden for wanting a table I could eat at. This was a very awkward experience and I find it absolutely appalling that this is the way Billigans treats disabled people. Shame on you Billigans - you need to do better! Bonus: one of our drinks came in a glass that had a huge jagged chip on the rim. read more

We went there for our Dads 91st. Birthday We had a group of 7 we got there on a Saturday about 6pm. And had to only wait for about 10 minutes to get seated not bad for that big of a crowd i thought. My dad Got the 8oz prime rib. He said was good. I got the 16 oz prime rib and it was one of the best I have had it was excellent. And I had a cup of clam chowder it was really good and thick like I like it. My wife got one of the salads she said it was really good too. one of my niece's got the French dip she said it was good too. My wife and I will go back for sure. the waitress was awesome. read more

No, I wouldn't recommend it. I was excited thought maybe they were a sister restaurant to Texas Roadhouse, but the menu is different! They do not serve yeast rolls once you seat I had to ask after we place our food order. Fish and chips small, fries not crispy friend got cheesesteak. It looked dried and only onions, no peppers. I get they were busy since it is Mother's Day, but if you ask for a med rare steak, get a closer to med well that tastes like a dirty old grill that hasn't been cleaned in awhile, this is your spot. It's a bonus too, if you like a your steak charred because almost every bite I took had a heavy char flavor. I mean heavy. I tried to finish the steak but couldn't, I didn't even keep it for the dog. Let me start by saying the employees are amazing, It's really too bad they have to serve low grade dog food to their patrons. $17.00 for chicken strips you could get at an Arco for $4.00. If you want "spicy chicken strips" you're in luck, they will bring you out a side of buffalo sauce in a plastic urine sample container!! If you love thawed to order food, like Applebee's, you'll love this establishment. I suggest you take your money to a local, non commercialized restaurant, that features chefs that work with real food and actually prepare and cook your meal. Came here for Mothers Day as we where told the Country Fried Steak was really good, and that's her favorite brunch dish. The place is what you would expect of a "Roadhouse" here. Dark wood walls, black floors, fireplace. Pretty large open spaces. Shelled-Peanut appetizers (which looked old). The atmosphere was a lot nicer then any of the "Original Roadhouse Grill" we've ever been too, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! So why the 3 star? The food was incredibly bland. All of it, but especially the sides. The onion rings where oldish looking and crumbling apart, the mash potatoes where tasteless, the mac n cheese was over cooked and looked like the cheese was tossed in last minute. Even the chicken fried steak was lacking. The gravy on the mashed potatoes was good, and the sweet potato fries are definitely the winners of all that was ordered, next to the free biscuits you get. Overall.. kinda disappointing, but at least the staff was friendly (they were the best part). Not worth the over $60 we spent. read more

Went to Billygan's tonight for dinner and I was very disappointed. I ordered a simple mushroom burger, I let them know that I wanted it well done. When I got my meal the burger was raw in the middle. They brought me another burger and it was so hard that it was really hard to eat because it was extremely crunchy. I would not recommend this place. I went there because it is always busy but that was my mistake and I will not return. Service was amazing for they don't know how to cook well done without it being a hockey puck. read more

We celebrated my 60th Birthday last night at Billygan's and was pleasantly surprised by the staff and service we received. Hostess was friendly and greeted us after not really knowing where we needed to be to be seated, hostess stand is a bit away from the front door. Place was was not really busy, so we got seated right away, from the dining room appearance I'm guessing I know why it wasn't very busy, it could use a deep cleaning and some updating of the decor. They certainly shined in customer service though, our server Donovan was outstanding, he never forgot anything, was always prompt in bringing what ever was needed. We chose to split a full order of babyback ribs, the order was split on two plates instead of just bringing an extra plate as most establishments do, we did add a baked potato and dinner salad as sides, they were placed and presented on the second plate just like we had ordered two full dinners. We enjoyed our meal last night and wanted to give Donovan a big thank you for your excellent service and hope your manager recognizes that they have a great employee working for them. read more

We were at your restaurant today, 5/3/2021 As we walked in we were greeted and automatically taken to the lounge, we don't drink so I was irritated that he would assume we wanted to sit in there... So he seated us and .... maybe 10 minutes later a waitress came and we ordered.. the Mozzarella sticks weren't hot. As we sat there I opened my utensils and my napkin was stuck on the table.. Yikes, the food here is, not good. We ordered the grilled cheese for my son & two French dips, one with cheese. It's always a MAJOR turn off when you visit a restaurant and there are additional fees as far as the eye can see. I substituted my fries for a salad, which was $2.49 extra. For a dinky small salad that had tomatoes and cheese. Really? I took one bite of my French dip and retuned it. Flavorless and awkward tasting. I had a bite of my sons grilled cheese and so did my fiancé, and we both spit it out. It was awful!! In California we have Texas Roadhouse which I was told was just like this just a different name. It's not! Will never be back here. Save your money and go to Black Angus instead! read more

At the request of my parents for my Mom's B day she wanted to got to Billygans in the Couv. I have experienced their yeast rolls and peanuts on the floor once before. The service thru out the meal is typical chain restaurant style. They seem to have the hardest time finding good servers as the best ones don't want to work in a chain restaurant. I feel for the management as I did restaurant managing for about 10 years. The food itself upon presentation is alright but the flavor and correct doneness of the ingredient is not. The baked potato was not done or hot enough to melt the butter. The breading on the fish was extreme in relation to the portion of the fish. The patty in the hamburger was over done and so forth.
