Second time dining here for breakfast. Food is good, though the portion was a bit skimpy today on the scrambled eggs and hash browns for the Gambler's Special breakfast. I would rate the restaurant higher, but the service is just poor to below average. Only one waitress working the first hour of service and she was just surly and operates in slow gear. She really takes her time getting to tables to take orders. In contrast the busboy was friendly, quick, and efficient. It was something to just sit back and watch. The cashier just sat on a stool and watched as well. So a buddy decided to show us "OLD" Vegas on this recent trip and with nothing else going on we decided to follow. Fortunately he knew his way around and we parked in the Binion's Parking. I love me some diners food and since it was on the afternoon of our return home and we where basically broke, the prices lured us in. I have to admit it wasn't the nicest of joints I've eaten in but the service makes up for it along with the prices. My boyfriend and my friend both ordered the Club Sandwiches while I was trying to nurse an upset stomach with some french onion soup. The sandwiches looked delicious and actually was such a large portion they had to ask for too go boxes, I on the other hand basically just had the broth and crackers since it was not the french onion soup I expected, there was at least a whole onion sliced up in my bowl ( sorta looked like worms) but the broth was good. The burger was served hot. It was however needing some added flavor. I did need to add salt although, it needed more than that. I'm a huge coleslaw fan. I order it wherever I eat out. Gamblers Breakfast! Believe it or not that sign brought me to this place... Envision it...you are in Downtown Vegas, hungry and do not know where to go...actually I was starving. There are all those signs hanging on the casinos on Fremont Street for meal deals...most of them you need to either be a member of their casino club or there is some huge line to get into the restaurant itself. Oh yeah, its also 1am. We decided to try Binion's Cafe since it was central and there was not a wait. It seemed like a regular little coffee shop situated in the middle of a casino. The wait staff was veryyyy friendly...totally funny at that. I ordered an omelette with two cheeses, sausage and bacon. The omelette itself was overflowing with ingredients...there were a few stray onions in it which I really hate but I was able to pick them out. It came with hashbrown potatoes which were not totally amazing but were acceptable. It would have been a three star experience but my wife had a Belgium waffle which she proclaimed was the "best Belgium waffle she had ever eaten". So one extra star for that amazing waffle. If I am hungry in Downtown Vegas I would not have a problem eating here again. Big tip: You can park in the garage at Binion's free with validation. Make sure when you validate you validate AT BINIONS. We accidentally validated at one of the neighboring casinos and when we went to leave the parking garage the guy working actually noticed that it was a stamp from another casino and made us pay. The gentleman who brought our drinks was nearly impossible to understand through his mumbles and never once smiled. The waitress was so nasty I'm pretty sure I flinched a few times, at least once when she threw our plates on the table. No drink refills. Not one check back to see how things were. This is a great spot on Fremont to enjoy breakfast or lunch. My wife and I had the Gambler's Token breakfast one morning and we both enjoyed it. The staff are friendly and welcoming. We found ourselves looking for a lunch spot and decided to give it a try and once again, were so happy we did. Their Club sandwich is amazing. Went here for breakfast. I had the gambler's breakfast which consists of sausage, two strips of bacon, hash browns and eggs which I chose over easy. I also had wheat toast. It's your standard breakfast. Hash browns were a little burnt. Bacon was crisp and delicious. Sausage was good. Our meal was free with our play card. It was descent. We ate here for breakfast because we got $17 in comps that we needed to spend. We were staying at the Golden Nugget, right across, but played here as well. The wait for breakfast at 10am was quite long considering half of the room on the right side clearly had empty tables. We actually waited longer to be seated than to get our food. It was about 15 minutes wait to get seated and about 10 minutes to get the food from the time that we ordered. A long line was forming out the door. We ordered breakfast. It was okay food and we were hungry and built up more appetite as we smelled cooked food as we waited to be seated. The waitress was friendly and kind enough to bring us an extra plate when I told her that my son and I were sharing food since we can never finish a meal separately. She also gave us more toasts since there were three people seated at the table. I saw the people next door to us where they got only four or five slices for two people and we got 8 slices. We have to pay at the cashier and noticed most people were so paying using their comps and just paying for the difference. I would come back here if we got more comps to redeem but I don't think I would eat here if I had to use my own cash. read more

Browsing around, were already in the casino & decided to try this place out. First timers for both of us so we didn't know what to expect really. Mind you, my boyfriend ordered a turkey sandwich & I ordered a chicken wrap that's not too complicated nor complex to make. Then the gentleman who arrived after us, was done & got his check. My boyfriend looks around for our server & by the kitchen, our server notifies us that our "food is almost ready"...it's been 30min & the guy that was seated after us, had already received his food & left. Getting a little irritated, it was already leaving a sour taste in our mouths realizing how long it was taking that we didn't want the food anymore. Our sever again tells us that our "food's almost ready" but that was 10min ago...we really don't know what was taking so long... While patiently waiting, we watched other folks eat their food, come & go & FINALLY we received our food for almost past 30min! Luckily our food wasn't bad, but goddamn, what took so long to make these simple dishes?! I wouldn't say our dishes weren't 'waiting for'. Y'all. This cafe serves the BEST cheeseburger. Like, ever. I had forgotten what a good cheeseburger tasted like until I visited Binion's. Suddenly, I was 9 years old and back in my grandma's kitchen and savoring the GOOD stuff. Listen. The fries were mediocre but the cheeseburger was so damned good, I DID NOT CARE. And the older gentleman who served me? He might have been there since Old Vegas opened and I'm a testament to the fact that he's only gotten better with time. This is one of our go-to breakfast spots when we're on Fremont, and for good reason. The food is good belly-filling American fare with the best hash browns in town IMO. The servers are all very efficient and pleasant, and get this: None of them have worked there for less than 30 years! That says a lot about the place.
