First time there and it was pretty cool. I loved the layout of the place. It had just rained so the seats outside were wet, but it was so cool how they could open an entire side of the building so you still could feel like you were outside on that beautiful afternoon, after the rain left. You order your food on an iPad and customize it however you want. Then a timer counts down to let you know when it will be done and which pod it will be placed in for you to pick up. There's hardly any interaction between the staff, but when there is it is extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was GREAT! Since this review I have been there twice, and one of the staff gave me a suggestion on how to have my Nashville experience. The pickles complement the sandwich in the most perfect way, a nice little punch of sweetness that makes you search for a little corner of a pickle with every bite to round out the spiciness of the sandwich. A Birdcall IPA on the side always goes down smooth. Secondly, and most importantly, the service. The impeccable service is reason enough to visit Birdcall. Cherise is the nicest, most welcoming, and genuine person I've met in a long time. She always goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. Was really hoping for some crispy, delightful friend chicken, and honestly we were a bit disappointed! We ordered the original and the deluxe sandwiches. The ordering system is quick and convenient, however they did somehow still mess up our order, giving us french fries instead of the side of onion rings with our combo meal. The sandwiches were average at best. A little too soft for our liking and nothing super special about them. Last night was my first and last time eating here. I ordered a chicken sandwich, side salad, fries and a banana shake. Where do I begin? Upon picking up my food from the pod, I noticed that my shake was very thin, like water. I asked the associate why this was so watery and I was told that the machine isn't functioning properly and that it was off by a couple of degrees. I told her that wasn't acceptable because of the temperature is too warm, it could make people sick. She was trying to reason with me, but I handed her the shake and walked out, without a refund. When I got in my car, I ate a couple of fries. The fries were cold and rubbery...disgusting. The sandwich was okay...very salty. The only saving grace about my meal was the salad. I don't see how people give this place such high ratings. I was highly disappointed in my experience. I will never go back. When I first came to birdcall I was a little skeptical. I was on vacation with my family so that means I had 5 kids trying to order with me on one kiosk...thank GOD David was working that day! He was so good with the kids and was able to help me get through the kiosk ordering easily. He was very sweet and well informed about the restaurant as a whole. Truly 5 star worthy service! Super fast, low key, delicious food with a nice outdoor patio. I love the power salad with added grilled chicken. Tons of crunchy veggies, seeds, creamy goat cheese and quinoa (though I'm not a fan of the dressing and usually just skip it since the salad is great by itself). Very friendly staff -- one time the patio umbrella dumped buckets of water down my back when a gust of wind blew through, and slightly dripped into my almost finished meal. They were super apologetic (even though it was no one's fault), replaced my salad without asking, and even offered me a beer on the house. That's great customer service! read more

If you're looking for Chick-Fila but want something better, Birdcall is IT. The restaurant itself is super cute and their system of ordering and the wait times is really helpful. I had The Deluxe which is just a standard chicken sandwich but oh so tasty. I mean the chicken was the perfect combo of crunchy and moist and the bun perfectly toasted. So, this was an unplanned breakfast stop - and I am so glad we made it! While I generally don't think about chicken for breakfast (yes, I am aware it's a thing but it's not a go-to for me lol) my babe and I stopped here while out running some errands and it was SO good and SO filling. I will say, this would not be a stop to make if you are looking for something light. Fried chicken, cheese and thick buttery biscuits were more than enough to hold us over for a good portion of the day (and um, yea, I ordered tots because - well, tots. I love them.) While we were initially thrown off by the self-serve kiosks (did you see that X-Files episode where they walk in and there's no one there, just robots?) it kind of felt like that, but once we got going at the kiosk and got our orders in, we grabbed a seat and out came the staff with our drinks and we waited for our food to be put into the designated numbered slot. Again, a bit of an adjustment but it's 2018 so, yea. (If you are paying with cash, there is apparently another entrance but we didn't see it and not an issue since we were using our card). There is plenty of indoor seating, a nice sized patio and good tunes. The food was great, the service (while not a LOT of interaction, what we did have was very friendly and helpful) and overall just a cool little spot to get your chicken on! I wish zero stars was an option. The day I went here, there were three people chatting inside - a woman and two men. The two men were both middle aged, balding, slender, and wearing button-up long sleeves shirts. They both spoke with accents. I feel they were higher up corporate types associated with Birdcall. Regional managers? Owners? Anyway, they warmly greeted the person who entered the building before me. When I entered, they looked at me and said absolutely nothing. I didn't think anything of it at first. I assumed they were customers and maybe knew the person in front of me. Listening to their conversation made me realize that they had a connection to the restaurant. As I stood in line waiting to pick up my order, I watched them greet three customers who came in after me. I had never been there before, and wanted to give it a chance in spite of being made to feel unwanted. It turns out the food matches the demeanor of the higher-ups: it sucks. The chicken was ridiculously over salty, rather stringy and not juicy. The fries were not bad but LBH... how hard is it to mess up fires? Fries are like chocolate and Led Zeppelin - even when they're bad, they're pretty good. I assure you my review of the food is in no way tainted by the manager's dismissal of me. While in line, I was thinking that if the food was great, I would simply go to the University location from then on. Luckily there will be no next time. I say luckily because if you think you can demean certain people away from your business, please continue trying. See how far that gets you. You're an overpriced fast food restaurant that targets people who have more money than taste, but as you've made abundantly clear, not people like me. This place was great when it opened! The chicken was perfectly cooked and tossed in the right amount of sauce. But now it seems that it has gotten overwhelmed with the new popularity. Last two times I've been in, the chicken was dry and barely had any sauce. My GF ordered 3 chicken strips and got the 3 smallest strips you could imagine. I heard their head chef left to head up the union station location, so that could be the issue. I really want to love this place. The Nashville Hot chicken was awesome the first few times I had it. Unfortunately the quality has declined since this place started getting busy. read more
