This place is okay. The asada is pretty good but nothing that blows me out of the ballpark. The flavor was mild not too salty. The fat and meat ratio is decent. Not a lot of fat. But the meat isn't dry. The quesadilla with asada and cheese was better than the tacos. The hot sauce is meh. I like how they open at 6am so if you are up very early, it's the only spot open. This is the best spot here in the East Side. Everyone is nice, the food is great, it's crazy how the ratings are so low. It's authentic Mexican food. My uncle introduced this place to my dad about 20 years ago, my dad always tells the story of how excited my uncle would talk about this spot. Boasting about how great the tacos and gorditas were then proceeded with a *chefs kiss*. When my uncle moved out of state, it soon became a spot my dad and I would come to often, for as long as I can remember. Now we come and reminisce of the place and the years that have past, and the excitement my uncle had. We now come to this spot in his honor as he has passed a few years ago, and we continue to enjoy this place, even more than before. We've shared so many memories at this spot, and the place hasn't really changed and I love it. Every time I walk in, it's a time capsule of all the memories shared with my dad and family. The quesadillas are amazing! Growing up, the quesadillas were my go to, but then, I encountered the gorditas. The gorditas are TO DIE for. They're crunchy on the outside, the perfect soft crunch on the inside, the beans are cooked and made to perfection, the fresh lettuce give it the extra crunch and fresh taste, the cotija cheese is like the cherry on the top and ties it all together. My dad always gets them with chicharron and I get them with milanesa, and they both just melt in your mouth. Their green sauce is my absolute favorite, and gives it the extra "umph" if you need a little extra. All together, by far the best cozy Mexican spot in the area. read more

I think my co-worker likes this place for their tortas. They get pretty busy at lunch so we called ahead. We were told 20 minutes. But ended waiting more like 35 minutes. For those who have a short lunch breaks, this sucks. So we had to bring it back to the office and enjoy while working. I got two tortas, one carne asada and one tripas. Piled high with meat, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and radishes. I think I preferred the carne asada to the tripe though. Everything tasted delicious. I think that's part of the reason it takes so long - they make everything fresh and to order. It's good but not sure if it's worth the wait. I could tell it was authentic Mexican food being that I was the only white person in there. She ordered the Torta with ham and grilled Queso Fresco for the both of us. I agree with the other reviewers that it does take a long time to receive the food, but it was worth the wait. The torta was yummy!! I thought the place was busy as every table was taken, but my girlfriend informed me that is wasn't! Busy is with a line out the door and people having to eat while standing up. I can't believe this place doesn't have higher ratings. It looks like a hole in the wall place, but let me tell you the quality of the food is excellent and authentic! Everything from their milkshakes to their food is delicious. We ordered the torta de milanesa (highly recommend adding cheese), gordita de chicharrón, tacos de asada, taco de tripa dorada, a fresa banana nuez milkshake and a papaya banana milkshake with cinnamon powder and chocomil. The torta was sooo good and I regretted not adding cheese on mine after trying my husband's. The meat on the tacos was well seasoned and the tortillas are handmade Their Gordita de chicharrón was the best I've had in a while. Most places that offer chicharrón don't make it good but Fausto's was really flavorful and the texture was perfect! Their milkshakes were also bomb. You can actually taste the ripe fruit in it, unlike other places.. and they're not overly sweet! Highly recommend getting one with your order. Next time, I want to try their mamey milkshake. Their customer service is also excellent, I was surprised to get our order within less than 10 minutes after reading reviews about them taking so long. The employees were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely be back for more! read more
