From all of the rave reviews I've heard about Bishop's Grill, I was sadly disappointed. We ordered the French dip with onion rings, and fried shrimp with potato. When the food arrived, both the shrimp and the onion rings were dark enough they were close to burnt. I decided to deal with the onion rings (and they scratched up the roof of my mouth), but my mother could not possibly eat her shrimp. We politely sent them back and rather than a, "I'm sorry, we'll fix it." Nothing was said until our server reached the open kitchen where someone exclaimed, "Too dark?" with a scoff. The next time they brought the shrimp out so underdone they were inedible. They ended up replacing it with a salad, but we had to ask for something else as there was no follow up to ask how things were. read more

I had a friend tell me that the HUGE cinnamon rolls here were the best she's ever eaten and we'll agree to disagree. The actual cinnamon roll was okay but the frosting was not good at all. I love this place... First time I came here was back in 2014. And I went there every morning for breakfast with my boys. For a week straight while I was in St. George. Its 2019 and This time; I brought the whole fam with me. Taste still just as good as the last time. Prices is still very reasonable. Dood !!! the Dave's breakfast is still the best deal around. Soo much food for soo little. Cant get that in California prices. Our server Allie was awesome. She got everything and made my family feel at home. Service was top notch. On our way to Bryce, my wife and I were looking for a place for lunch that offered comfort food. Using Yelp, we decided to try Bishop's. We were greeted promptly and professionally. The restaurant has a modern look and looked very clean. Our server was attentive and made us feel welcome. The menu is varied and breakfast entrees are offered all day, which is a big plus for me. I ordered a combo breakfast of French toast and scrambled eggs. My wife had a chef salad. Our portions were ample. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. When I pulled up I realized that it wasn't the same bishops that I was familiar with. It was a Friday night and it was not even packed. When I walked in it took about 4-5 minutes to get seated. There were three waitresses, and 20 empty booths. It took another 5 to 7 minutes to get my order in. The prime rib wasn't on par with what it's been in the past. And my waitress said she would bring me horseradish and au jus but it never showed up. 15 minutes after finishing my meal I had to go to the register to get my bill and pay as it seemed there were glasses and plates to stack before I'd get my bill. I loved this place. We were traveling to Zion and stumbled upon it and couldn't have asked for a better stop. Our server was friendly and efficient and the diner atmosphere was cute. I had a raspberry iced tea and a chef salad. The salad was huge (and actually could have been served on a bigger plate as I was fighting keeping all the food on my plate). There were large amounts of turkey, ham, cheeses and eggs as well as loads of lettuce. They gave you a nice amount of dressing as well. My husband loves breakfast so he was able to get pancakes, eggs, bacon and sausage. He loved all his food as well. I was so shocked at how horrible the food was tonight. The hash browns were so undercooked and tasted like soap. They were disgusting. The best thing we had was the toast and it tasted like nothing. If you are passing through St. George, Utah (i.e. on the way to or from Zion National Park), this is the place to go for grub and gas. I will explain: Bishop's has no frills homestyle comfort food for very affordable prices. The Bishop's Combo or the Bishop's country breakfast are great choices to order for breakfast..lots of food and flavor packed on the plate. I saw some posts raving about the Eggs Benedict. For my take on the Benedict, I wasn't blown away by it, but was adequate (I'd order something else in the future). The scone was light and had more than enough sprinkled powdered sugar. Our waitress was very efficient and passed by our table many times to see how we were doing and to fill our water glasses(I would have liked to see her smile some, though). For the gas part, there is a Costco gas station just down the street where you can fill up your tank for CHEAP! (I'm from San Diego, so I was blown away by the gas prices...$1.50 per gallon cheaper than Southern California prices!!). We tried Bishop's for the first time since moving to the area three years ago. We'd driven past numerous times but today, stranded at Costco and in need of something other than food court fare for lunch, we decided to give Bishop's a try. The place was pretty busy but we got seated right away. The menu is extensive, including breakfast, lunch and dinner. Prices are great! Where can you get a 3-egg omelet with a side of potatoes anymore for around 8.50??!! My husband and I both had salads -- grilled chicken for me, crunchy chicken for him -- which were large and tasty. Our waitress was new but did a great job and really outdid herself. It's atmosphere is casual and friendly, very relaxing. We were really pleased with our experience and will go back soon. read more

Love me some good diner food. Good price and food. Everything was yummy, service was good and quick. The cinnamon roll was huge. I didn't quite get the whole butter on the cinnamon roll so we didn't use it. The thing fed our whole family. The frosting is just a powder sugar water frosting. But good. They brought it out warm. I got the Reuben and it was a little fatty and they brought with the sauce on the side. I should have had it put on for me because of the cheese it was hard to pull the bread and meat apart. We were visiting Utah on our way to Zion with our friends and we needed a good breakfast. So we stopped by bishops because they were close and had solid reviews and boy I'm glad we did. Me and the gt other ordered the breakfast sandwich with bacon and it was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had! We found out the jelly is made from scratch so I had to order a scone to pour some of that delicious jelly on and that was a great idea. Hubby and I had an early date night this past Wednesday night. Always wanting to try new places, we came here. The waiter we had was really nice and we had a very nice chat. The food? Hubby had the turkey, bacon, avocado, cheesy, tomato sandwich with a side salad. The homemade ranch dressing (I tasted it) was pretty decent. Hubby said the sandwich was decent...the plus being the grilled bread. I had a french dip (it's been ages since having one of those...I love au jus!) with onion rings. The onion rings were less than interesting...had a couple and left the rest. The French Dip was on a ciabatta roll and also grilled. the meat was obviously pre-frozen, and the au jus? No flavor at all. It was just brown liquid. The prices are pretty good. The place was empty except for a couple of others. The waiter said most of their business is for breakfast. Visited this location and sat at the counter. Placed my order of short stack of pancakes. I could see 15 plus plates of food sitting at the pickup window for over 10 minutes at a time without anyone serving them. Turns out my single order was one of the them. The food was cold and had little taste. I could hear the ours talking about cold good as well. My server had no idea what she was doing and needs more training. It took 15 minutes to get the check even after told her I was finish and wanted the check. Total time on 1 hour to complete my visit and eat the two pancakes, not good! We had the chicken fried steak and the chicken fried chicken. The veggies that came with the chicken were disgusting, out of can and not edible. Both of the meat dishes were just ok. My hashbrowns were not good. Eggs and toast were good. They were not requiring people to enter with masks on, and a lot of construction workers didn't even have masks to wear. This place was sooooo good.. guys if your expecting fancy dancy this isn't your place. But if you are looking for breakfast that you can tell is homemade you've found it. We had a group of 11 and they were able to accommodate us without much trouble. The young girl that was our server was AHHHMAZING! She went back and forth like a million times because we had picky kiddos, and kept a smile the whole time. They have a homemade jam that I recommend you try and put some on the perfectly cooked pancakes. It was super good.
