My salmon and burgers were extremely overcooked, the potatoes were excessively salty, and the pasta soup was not edible, and honestly, it wasn't even soup. It had more of a chicken-and-dumplings consistency. The club sandwich was also hard, as though it had been sitting for some time. What was most disappointing was the lack of any meaningful attempt to remedy the situation. There was no replacement, no refund, and no real effort to make the experience right. I ultimately paid the bill and left. This was supposed to be a birthday dinner for my kids, which made the experience even more disappointing. Food of this quality should never leave the kitchen, and as a server, you should never want a guest to walk away feeling this dissatisfied. I have been a longtime fan of J. I explained that I had called 20 minutes earlier and had been waiting outside. The employee immediately walked over to the bar, picked up my bag, and handed it to me. Clearly, my food had just been sitting there the entire time. There was no apology, no explanation, no attempt to make the situation right, nothing. It was basically just, "Here's your food." When I got home, it was even more frustrating. My Cajun chicken pasta was cold and looked extremely skimpy, with barely any chicken or sauce stuffed in this small container. On top of that, the bag containing the biscuits was visibly ripped open, which is completely unacceptable for a food order. What makes this worse is that I chose not to leave a negative review the last time this happened because I understand that restaurants get busy and things happen. But now I've had essentially the same experience twice, sitting outside for 20-30 minutes waiting for an order that was apparently already sitting inside, with no communication and absolutely no concern from the staff. At this point, it's not just about having to wait. It's the complete lack of customer service or accountability. If curbside pickup is being offered, customers shouldn't have to eventually come inside and track down food that has been sitting there getting cold. And when something clearly goes wrong, even a simple apology would go a long way. When ordering, I asked for my steak medium rare. The bartender told me that meant a cold red center, which didn't sound right, so I questioned it. She confirmed it, so I ended up ordering medium instead. Shortly after, when my wife was ordering, she noticed the menu clearly described medium rare as having a warm, red center, and the bartender apologized for the confusion. That kind of basic mistake was surprising. We also asked about adding onions to the steak and were told they weren't available and may even be removing them from the menu. For a steakhouse of this caliber, not offering grilled onions felt odd. The suggested alternative--crispy fried onions--didn't feel like an appropriate substitute at this price point. Service continued to be inconsistent. I ordered a second drink that never came until I reminded them about 10 minutes later. At this point there were more employees behind the bar than patrons. While our steak and sides were very good, the overall experience was disappointing--especially considering the cost. It simply didn't match the level of service you expect from a restaurant like this. To make matters worse, we noticed similar issues happening around us. One couple was told there were no onions available after their steaks had already been served. Another guest ordered a blue cheese topping that never came--instead of correcting it, the staff just removed it from the bill. In the end, the bartender did apologize (we didn't complain) and comped us two drinks and the food was solid, but the service and overall experience fell short.
