    Escargot with bread

Lovely restaurant with dark wood and leather seat interiors. Our servers and wait staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. I had some escargot to start off with. They're already taken out of the shell but I kind of enjoy doing it myself when I eat them. I got the seafood bouillabaisse for my entree, and it was well stocked with shrimp, mussels, and salmon along with some bread for dipping. Went with a friend and she is obsessed with their sticky toffee pudding for dessert. We also tried the crème brûlée and it was made perfectly! Seems like an earlier crowd who eats here, at least on a Thursday night. We were the only two people left inside the restaurant by 7:45 PM with another table sitting outside on the sidewalk under heat lamps. Would definitely like to come back for a cute date night.

Came here for a birthday dinner. Food was great overall and service was amazing. They also kindly gave us free cheesecake for the birthday celebration! Truffle fries: A- Bouillabaisse: B Sticky toffee pudding: A Cheesecake: B+ Standout for me was the sticky toffee pudding. Also tried some of their short rib and that is what I would order for myself next time.

My second time eating at the restaurant. They offer a $25/person 3-course Early Bird Special from 4:30 PM-5:30 PM every day (excluding special days). The menu includes a choice of salad, select entrée, and gelato. It was my friend's first time dining there, and she's vegetarian. We both ordered the Mista Salad with baby mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, sliced strawberries, gorgonzola cheese, candied nuts, and balsamic vinaigrette. For the entrée, I had the Grilled Salmon with red quinoa tabbouleh, diced cucumber, orange segments, and green goddess sauce. My friend ordered the Truffle Ravioli stuffed with mushroom and ricotta cheese, served with olives, Calabrian peppers, garlic cream sauce, and truffle essence. For dessert, I had the Double Chocolate Gelato, and my friend had the Sea Salt Caramel Gelato. I liked the salmon with the quinoa, and the salmon portion was a good size. The $25 Early Bird 3-course special is definitely worth the value. I would definitely come back again.

came for their early bird dinner special ($25 for 3 courses). service was excellent, very friendly and accommodating. I requested the penne without chicken and they suggested they could add asparagus to it. it was a nice touch adding more veggies into the pasta and it ended up tasting delicious. i also ordered the caesar salad and it was very well dressed and a nice size portion. for dessert i had the blackberry sorbet and i enjoyed it as well! i ordered the pomegranate martini and it was tart and a little sweet. ambiance was cozy and the noise level was fairly quiet (although there were only a few tables filled on a wednesday at 4:30). would definitely come back again for great service and delicious food!

This is a great neighborhood restaurant. I found it charming and waitstaff very nice Three of us picked the $25 3-course deal and we also ordered the crab cakes. Which were delicious.... They came with two spears of asparagus on a bed of roasted red pepper puree. I had the salmon which I enjoyed The seafood fettuccine and short rib pasta also were good. The portions are generous. We loved the gelato and one of us got the sticky toffee pudding, with a little discount to upgrade, which we all loved

So i wanted to try this place as they had a prefix meal for $25. Its Monday thru Friday from 4:30-5:30 only. You get a salad, entrée, and Gelato. That's a great deal anywhere in the city. I had their Caesar Salad and my husband got their Mista Salad. Both were yummy. For dinner i penne with chicken which was delicious and just the right portion. My husband had grilled salmon. He really enjoyed it. Then for dessert we had dark chocolate Gelato and sea salt caramel Gelato. Both were incredible. This place was yummy and the service was great as well. Its in a quiet area too. I look forward to coming back again.

Really nice spot, good food and great happy hour All tasty food, good salad and pastas. Well cooked and generous portion on seafood in the pasta. Great gelato texture but didn't love the sea salt caramel personally Nice vibe and decor, surprisingly good neighborhood joint

The front door is very heavy to open, but they are open! There's both indoor and outdoor seating (the latter which we used because we brought a dog), and some of the outdoor seating is in a shelter with walls which was good for fighting against the wind. The tables are far enough apart that you can easily have conversation. They immediately gave our dog a water bowl, which we appreciated. All the staff were so friendly and kind! We definitely felt taken care of despite being outside. We got the Burrata and the Bistro Salad to share, and I got the Chicken Marsala as my entree. I also got an Aperol Spritz. For dessert, we got the Sticky Toffee Bread Pudding, and, as a surprise, they gave me a piece of cheesecake with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate! So delightful and caring. Burrata: 4/5, very generous portion of burrata and delightful combination with pistachios! There was a lot of jam and not a lot of bread, but it was all good. Bistro Salad: 3/5, thankful they accommodated my request to have walnuts on the side! Nothing super exceptional but not bad. Aperol Spritz: 3/5, very standard drink though maybe a bit diluted to err on the side of caution concerning the bitter flavor of the Aperol. Chicken Marsala: 5/5, tender chicken with a generous amount of mushrooms! The mashed potatoes were great in texture and buttery in flavor, and the asparagus was nicely cooked. Sticky Toffee Bread Pudding: 4/5, a great warm flavor and the vanilla ice cream was a good creamy balance. The tart berries also helped cut through the sweetness. Birthday Cheesecake: 5/5, very kind of them to give! It was also creamy and delicious, and loved the berries. Overall, wonderful service and a great time. I definitely want to try their Early Bird special, it looks great!

Before the meal started, we were served a small cup of corn soup. It was so intensely corny in the best way possible. It's sweet, creamy, and comforting. Loved it. The bluefin tuna was incredibly fresh, and the portion was generous. I also really enjoyed the zucchini, which added different textures to this dish and made it more interesting. The mackerel was delicious. The skin had this rich, gelatinous texture that I personally loved, and the flavors were super satisfying. The only dish that was a little disappointing was the pork ballotine. It looked incredibly tender and juicy, but it ended up being a bit drier than I expected. Dessert was definitely the highlight of the meal. I had never tried chamomile ice cream before, and it was such a pleasant surprise. It paired beautifully with the caramelized white chocolate, which added a rich, milky sweetness, and I loved the crunchy texture throughout the dish. The warm pistachio paste brought everything together perfectly. So, so good!

C'est magnifique!…read more Authentic French cuisine with the cozy vibe of a bistro in France. Food is simply amazing, and some of the best I've tried ever. Have been here twice now and have left extremely satisfied. Over the past visits I've tried: Goat Cheese Salad: 4/5 very fresh and tasty, the walnut vinaigrette pairs so well with the balsamic. On the bitter side but I liked it Tiger Prawn Ravioli - 5/5, super unique and melt in your mouth. The sauce has an umami flavor and the dish is one of the best bites I've tried Steak (Filet) - 5/5, one of the best steaks I've tried. The seasoning is spot on and is very rich and flavorful Crispy Chick Breast - 10/5, my personal favorite dish. The chicken is seasoned to perfection, and the sauce lives up to the French rule that a perfect sauce is just as, if not more, important to the success of the dish. Love the mashed potatoes as well, my plate was wiped clean Desserts: 5/5 Apple Tart and chocolate cake - très bien The restaurant is tiny but it's part of the ambiance and reminiscent of a classic French bistro. Now it's sixteen years later. After an early start to a Sunday Valkyries game, my friend brought us here for a post game dinner. After finding a parking space a block away, we walked up a little after 6:30 pm. When I reached the entrance, I noticed the sketch board and wrote my name below the names and guest numbers already there. When I asked the hostess, she told me it was likely a twenty to thirty minute wait. The dining room was packed as well as the sidewalk tables and outdoor dining structure. Being hungry and antsy, I walked the various tables to observe the service progression to estimate when we'd be seated. About 35 minutes later, we were seated at the sidewalk table next to the entrance and given menus. It's been a while so a menu study was needed. After some discussion, we decided on our meals and agreed to share bites of each other's food. First came the Acme French baguette and butter (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=b_xeRM764lejQiCnELp7OA), a necessary vehicle to sop any gravy or sauce. Two of us had the French onion soup (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=rJ9tQeC9Al9A0yCiHnA3Fw); it was as I remember, hearty broth chocked with tasty onions with gooey stretchy cheese underneath a nicely browned top. Their staple is consistent with what I remember. My friend ordered the Les Moules 24, poulette (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=ZgxJSrYmiEuwipp8uvkJHA), garlic, shallots, bacon, white wine, cream, parsley; the mussels were good, most if not all opened shells in a variety of sizes. The sauce or broth is the key especially with the baguette slices to enjoy the delicious flavors. For my main meal, i had the pork chop (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=tk0gypyufB2AL0olq-KPHA), Brussels sprouts, bacon, apple cider mustard sauce, suggested and cooked medium; I really enjoyed this as it had a nice outside sear while the meat was tender and still juicy after I cut in. The flavors from the accompaniments paired well and the portions were generous. In fact, a fellow diner mostly ate the accompaniments as our shared format in trying the other dishes filled my tummy. I tried a few bites of my friend's roasted duck confit, French fries (subbed from potatoes gratin), haricot vert, port reduction; sorry, no photo as this disappeared relatively quickly; the duck was tender and fork tender with a smoky flavor as it came right off the bone. I also tried another diner's fettucine, creamy white wine sauce, mushrooms (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=X5em6PctUtXUbiuM7uLmPg); the balance of sauce to pasta was perfect and you know me and mushrooms. It was tasty and is definitely hearty, portions and taste wise. As we dined, more diners added their names to the wait list until there were only two names left when we left around 8:30 pm. The guests were a mix of neighborhood locals and sports fans who came from events since Chase Center and Oracle Park are nearby. I saw a table with guys wearing Giants and Braves jerseys. Thanks to J. Garen who waited on our table and the bus staff who cleared empty plates and bowls and refilled out water glasses. Big thanks for Naomi, the hostess, who kept all waiting guests updated and kept a watchful eye to make sure the tables turn efficiently. As we left, we greeted waiting guests in Valkyries jerseys and we briefly talked about the game and, of course, gave our "Go Valks" cheer. Looking forward to our next meal here.

I have lived on the 500 block for 16 years and this is an amazing add to the neighborhood. We've never had our own authentic taqueria this close. And I can tell you that the tortillas here are LEGIT. On to the experience. The staff is awesome, you will be well attended here. You can order at the register, but there is full wait service. The interior retains the French look, and has added some Mexican touches. There is a parklet outside. In the dining room, there are large open windows with bar seating. A true indoor / outdoor spot. On to the food. I got the Al Pastor tacos, which are traditional street style, though they were nice enough to add cheese to the tortillas. Red and green salsa on the side, and I'm told they're looking into a spicy sauce as well. Open on Friday and Saturday until Midnight. Check www.divistaqueria.com for their weekly hours and menu. Directly across the street from both Emporium and Independent on Divis. And a delicious lunch if you're in NOPA. Place will blow up and couldn't happen to better people. Get ready for this business!!

Amazing french food here!! *chefs kiss*…read more Found this gem when we were heading to the Independent for a concert but was early and decided to grab a bite as my boyfriend suggested this spot after seeing it on Yelp close by. The server sat us down and gave us menus right away with ice waters. The interior was nice and cozy with French music and decor. We shared both the Boeuf Bourguignon and the Champagnarde Galette and both were wonderful. The presentation on both were elegant and appetizing. The flavors and textured worked well in both dishes and the portions were satisfying. My boyfriend also ordered a glass of wine he enjoyed. I would love to come back and try their different dishes as I had a hard time decided since everything sounded so delicious! Great dinner spot, felt like a mini getaway.

This was a decadent, sweet and savory corn soup topped with popcorn that offered a nice textural contrast. We highly recommended this to the table next to us. - Spring Risotto: A flavor that I can still recall weeks after our meal here. This featured crisp cherry tomatoes and herbs on a bed of creamy risotto, which contrasted well with the sunflower seed topping. - Steak: Deliciously seared and seasoned. We ordered this medium rare, and it did end up appearing slightly rarer than we anticipated, but we loved it anyway and demolished the whole thing. Staff was friendly and warm -- even though we were seated outside on the patio, it was easy to feel attended to. Would easily come back to this restaurant!

Everything was fresh and delicious but honest and straightforward. The owner checked on me a few times during the meal, and made sure my water glass stayed full. I am sure they have a good selection of wines, but it was getting late and I decided not to partake. If I was back in the neighborhood and craving classic but not pretentious French cuisine, I would stop by again.
