This place is perfect for a fun, classy, and elevated happy hour accompanied by scrumptious bites or full meals. We came for the wine and early dinner. The bistro park wine flight was delicious. Brian was an outstanding server. He took the time to go through my meal with me and pair wine with each course. Not in a snooty way but he really wanted to help me have the best tasting experience. He was so attentive! The pasta with vodka sauce was perfectly spicy. I loved it all. It was less than $160 for 2 apps, a flight, 2 glasses of delightful wine, and 2 entrees. Saw a posting on Facebook recommending Bistro Central Parc restaurant.. Wow, what a find. Absolutely delicious. I had the Rib Eye special and my husband had the Salmon earlier bird special. The portions were generous. My steak was cooked to perfection and my husband loved his Salmon. The salads were light and fresh. I had an ok Mother's Day brunch here. The food was mediocre, but they had reservations available a week or two in advance, so it's an option when your partner does everything at the last minute. Our table was outdoors, not in the parklet, but in the sidewalk patio that had a canvas wall on two sides. Not ideal, but at least we were mostly shielded from the cold. The interior looked very nice, not that we got to sit there, and the bathroom was also gorgeous (see my photo). PARKING We found a free street spot fairly easily within 2 blocks around noon on Mother's Day. THE COST $100.35 total for 3 entrees and 2 coffees. FAMILY FRIENDLY There was no kid's menu, no waffles/pancakes on the Mother's Day menu (although my partner had scoped out their normal brunch menu does have waffles/pancakes). However, our server offered us chicken nuggets and fries for the kids, which came out very quickly - convenient, but between the speed and the quality of the food, these were likely just popped in the oven from the freezer. THE FOOD * Short Ribs Benedict ($27.95) - 3 stars The egg was watery and rib meat was soft but a little low on flavor. Could have used something other than meat and egg. * Crab Omelette ($25.95) - 2.5 stars Definitely not worth the price. The potatoes were decent with a light crisped layer, the salad simple. The omelette consisted of mostly a thick layer of solidified cheese and some crab. The egg was nothing special, if not slightly overcooked. The jalapeno felt out of place, and the omelette overall was lacking in interesting flavors. read more

The $25 3 course menu is probably the best value meal you can find at a nice restaurant in SF! Served only from 430pm to 530pm every day, you get a salad, entree and gelato for only $25. If ordered separately, even the cheapest item for each course would cost you $40+ so the value is amazing. Especially considering the portions aren't scaled down in any way. The food is also delicious. The only caveat is that for vegetarians there's only one entree, which is the truffle mushroom ravioli. The sauce is rich and creamy and the pasta was tender but slightly firm. It comes with lots of vegetables as well, including olives which was surprising but i actually liked that addition. The vanilla bean gelato is a huge serving and was smooth and creamy. It's served with a biscotto and a small bit of basil. The service is excellent - the staff are attentive, helpful and elevate the dining experience. The ambiance is also classy and for a moment you forget you're in a very suburban area. It feels like a spot you'd find in the heart of the city. The interior is dimly lit with lights adorning the ceiling and plenty of tables along with some bar seating. I've never heard of this place until tonight. Had family friends wanting to get dinner for a bigger group so I found reservations online. I believe the only positive thing is that they had our table ready and we didn't have to wait. I was finally excited to try escargot from a restaurant in the Bay Area as I don't see it often and it's one of my favorite appetizers. Unfortunately all the appetizers were very bad. The mussels were SO fishy (this is coming from someone who doesn't mind the fishy-ness in seafood but this was just next level). The escargot had no taste. It was unseasoned and just tasted bitter if dipped in the oil. A little salt goes a long way. I had to dip it in the chimichurri that came with another dish. The crab cakes? Even worse! The outside crust was extremely mushy and the bell pepper taste was overwhelming to the point where I couldn't finish it. It didn't even look like a crab cake and when looking at the dish, you can't even see the crab cake under all the veggies they put on top. It was just very confusing dish. The one thing I did think was ok was the sea bass. I'm Asian so I'm used to bone in whole fish, so just be careful if you don't usually eat fish this way. Some of the other things I saw or tried at our table didn't look very appealing. The same orange chipotle sauce was served with many dishes and got boring after awhile. The service? Non existent. Especially for the restaurant not being full. We had to remind them for missing drinks, waited a long time to get assistance or the check, no one came back with water, they took our glasses and plates before we even finished for some reason. The paper straws (which I am not opposed to) don't work for this place if you're having more than one drink. It starts to bend and "melt" if you refill your cup. I had to take it out and just drink from my cup. They don't list their beers but ran out of some when trying to order next round of drinks...and it took a long time to get someone to give us a dessert menu. The food also took extremely long to come out. Let's just say I didn't finish the food. I would never order ANY appetizers if you were thinking about it, and would not come back. They only have wine and soju type drinks...I believe due to liquor license. It's important to note, which is no fault of the restaurant itself, but the parking is almost impossible here. We had to circle for a long time before finding something far away. Really wish we didn't cancel our reservation to come here because this was beyond disappointing. read more

My family and I had a wonderful experience at Bistro Central Parc! We arrived early for their specials and each ordered something different, so we could try the ribeye steak and frites, black pepper Alfredo, grilled salmon and chicken Marsala. Everything tasted really good, especially the shrimp in the pasta, but the salmon was mid in terms of freshness and doneness. Very professional service in a dimly lit corner restaurant. I believe this is an old neighborhood fave, but I would return and sit outside on a clear day, because the cleaning agent smell really gets to me (as I have a very sensitive nose). read more

Just moved to the neighborhood, and this place is a gem! My parents are in town and I booked a table only 15 minutes in advance on OpenTable. Exceptional service, food, and atmosphere. Appetizers perfect to split: Burrata with fig jam and the Calamari (sooo tender!) Mains: Bouillabaisse and Short Ribs (see photos). Tender. Flavorful without being salty. Both also large portions perfect for sharing. Dessert: Flourless chocolate cake is rich, creamy, and beautifully plated. *It did get busy and loud at one point, so it can be a bit difficult for those with hearing impairments. Wow this place was so good! Bf took me here on New Years eve first of 2 restaurants and this was definitely the winner. Kind of feels like in the middle of nowhere, had to park a 2 blocks away on street very impacted, but it was worth it! The interior is pretty small but cozy with a beautiful ceiling of leaf design lights. The waiters seem happy here and the service was light and good. I ordered the mista salad to start and it was simple yet very delicious. We also ordered crab cakes and they were good as well, really enjoyed the yellow sauce. The seafood linguine was soo yummy. The red sauce was perfectly flavored and the salmon, shrimp, and noodles cooked perfectly. It was not too salty, nothing was too salty here so i really liked that! We had dinner reservations last Friday. You could totally tell that we were racially profiled, because everybody had their dinner plates served on a timely manor versus us and we had came in way before other people had came in. We waited for over an hour. The manager did not even apologized the waiter just smirked. It's really sad. My son had made the night very special before we had attended to a concert at the Chase Center. We had left and paid for our drinks and appetizers which honestly were not all that. If we would of read the reviews priors would of saved us from the horrible service and experience. But I must say if ever want to have a fabulous dinner awesome staff with wonderful employees who value you go to Miller & Lux Restaurant you will not be disappointed. Visited for the first time with the family this past weekend - was promptly greeted seated as we arrived on time for our reservation. We started off with appetizers - the crab cakes were excellent - topped with shrimp and a delicous sauce which paired nicely with the crispy, savory coated crab cakes - yum! The fried calimari was good, but kinda too small (not the restaurants fault) - it came with both red and tartar sauces that were delish. The beef carpaccio...very tasty - melt in your mouth goodness! For entrees, I had the bouillabase and it was one of the best I've had - generously proportioned with mussels, shrimp, fish and savory tomato broth with garlic - so good! The parpadelle short ribs, seafood linguine, and black pepper linguine were all a hit with our party. We'll definitely be back soon! read more

Came here for a friend's birthday dinner. Our group of 7 just barely fit across their booths at the entrance of the restaurant. I loved the interior and regret not getting a picture of that..I got the bathroom though apparently. We ordered 4 appetizers (bruschetta, crab cakes, calamari, mussels) and an entree each. It was a lot of food. I don't really know how I feel about the mushroom bruschetta. It's different. Great crab cakes, calamari, and mussels though. I got the pappardelle short ribs. Usually when I get Italian, although I do enjoy the first few bites, it's just too heavy and I can't finish the whole dish. I think the flavors were well balanced here and I actually wished I could but didn't because we had a lot of appetizers. I personally thought the service was great personally but the table next to us was quite upset over something. We sat at the bar and were looked after well by the staff, who were also able to answer any questions relating to ingredients for my friend's food allergy. The enduring note is wonderful, warm service in a classic brasserie setting, we had a delightful evening and savory dinner. Bistro Central Parc has changed hands since we were there and the menu has come back down to earth with more affordable mains and smaller, tapas style plates. We skipped around the menu starting with mouth-watering truffle Parmesan fries ($7.99) with housemade aioli then chicken penne pasta in vodka sauce ($17.99), tapas beef short rib over saffron tumeric risotto ($15.99), tapas mussels ($15.99) in a white wine, Dijon butter broth with diced tomatoes. Skip the fried calamari appetizer, over-fried and greasy though I liked the whimsical haricots verts sprinkled onto the plate. I'm sure our server would've made the suggestion forgo the truffle fries since there were frites with the mussels - or maybe upgrade the truffle fries with the mussels- but we ordered in two stages. Favorite bites were the perfectly tender beef short rib and the chicken penne with vodka sauce. A slice of cheesecake with Yelp check-in was a nice touch. My only suggestions are to improve the wines by the glass and work on the risotto that was a touch too gooey. We'll definitely be back - and I already know I'm ordering the roast chicken. read more

Came here two different times and both times did not disappoint. Every time in in SF I have to make a stop in here. The outside is super cute and the inside is small but dreamy with twinkle lights inside. I love the vibe with the booths and the dark walls. The servers are all super attentive and very friendly. The wine flights are phenomenal with so many amazing varieties. Something for everyone. The first time we went for dinner and wanted to try everything we could. We ordered the French onion soup. It was so warm, delicious, and full of flavor. And the cheese pull was great. The beer carpaccio was so yummy and fresh. Seasoned perfectly and big portion. Great for sharing. The escargot was so good. They added 2 snails in each shell. Paired with the bread was amazing. They really nailed it. The truffle pasta was an absolute dream. Everything was perfect and creamy. We also got the braised short rib and that was phenomenal! They nailed this dish to perfection. We got the cheesecake and creme Brule we got Togo and we're fabulous! The second time we went for brunch and did another great wine flight. Just as good the second time. They were able to make a single pancake as a side even though it wasn't on the menu. It's a rare occasion I get blown away by an affordable restaurant jn SF, and this is one of them. On Wednesday's they have a prefixed menu for $25 that includes a salad, select entree and gelato. Thankfully they don't require the whole table participate because I just had to try the short rib. And I'm glad I did. Zero opportunities for improvement there; meat was perfectly tender, mashed potatoes were the perfect consistency and not overly buttered, and the portion was sizable but not overwhelming. I split it with a friend who ordered the chicken penne which at face value sounds boring but it had a perfect kick to it and the chicken wasn't overly dry by any means friends also ordered the salmon and the rib eye which looked delicious. The steak French fries looked so good I asked to steal one and sure enough tasted tripe fried with old bay seasoning- so, so good. I'm not a dessert person but damn, the bread pudding was delectable. The vibe is gorgeous, the interior decorator paid such attention to detail; even in the bathrooms. There's a bar but on a Wednesday night it was mostly families. Looking forward to returning! Even though we didn't have reservations and the restaurant was packed, the server was able to accommodate our group of four. My husband and friend ordered the 3-course meal special (highly recommend!), along with some appetizers to share. The steaks were delicious--my husband and I especially enjoyed them. The meal came with a fresh salad to start and a tasty gelato for dessert. My friend also ordered garlic mussels and another seafood dish, but unfortunately, those weren't as enjoyable. The escargot, served without the shell, wasn't to my taste and felt a bit bland. Aside from the seafood, everything else was excellent. I visited last night for a large group dinner of about 10 people. I had the burrata salad to start which has pistachios which added some crunch & texture. It was served with warm, toasted bread which was perfect because I was starving. I shared my salad with some my fellow diners (to also save room for my entree). I love truffles & the mushroom & truffle ravioli caught my eye when I saw it on the menu. I read that the ravioli was served with Calabrian chilies & I requested to exclude the chilies because I thought that it might have too much heat for my palate. The ravioli & sauce was delicious! The arugula added some color & texture (and provided some veggies). Overall, I would recommend it to any truffle lovers. We were too full to attempt dessert but I might try on my next visit. I've come here twice now and it's honestly AMAZING. We get the three course deal and it comes with a salad, steak entree, and gelato. The salad is always so refreshing and good! The gorgonzola and strawberries and delish! The steak frites are to die for!! Literally a huge and generous portion of steak that's perfectly cooked and JUICY. And the gelato is unreal. I picked this place because of its reviews and it was really close to the graduation we attended. We didn't have reservations and sat at the bar. They stop orders at 215pm so we ordered quickly. I wanted to get both the salmon Benedict and the strawberry pancakes. Perfect because my wife wanted the Benedict to. We shared. The salmon was amazing and the pancakes were really unique. Loved them both. Just a note. They brought me the blue matcha ones first and I had to correct the order. The strawberry one took a long time to come out . We were already done with the Benedict. I found out later my wife told me that our waitress didn't write done our order and that's probably why it went in wrong. I know its all cool to try an memorize your order but if its wrong it's wrong. which makes them look bad and my food wasn't out when my wife's food was. They also took our drink order but never brought us them. We had to reorder. No biggie. Still good food. read more

I booked a Thanksgiving dinner in advance with my friends because both the restaurant's website and the menu at the entrance listed turkey as the "today's special." I had other options to choose from, but I specifically picked this place for the turkey. When we arrived, there was no turkey at all. The server seemed surprised, and after some back-and-forth told us they couldn't find a cook to prepare the turkey menu. I made the reservation a week in advance, and the website clearly gave false information -- it completely ruined our holiday experience. read more

No gatekeeping here there's a 3 course dinner you can get for $25 a person... and yes in 2024! Just make sure you're in 4:30-5:30 PM. Citrus salad was delicious and refreshing. Got a glass of Pinot with my Truffle Ravioli (also great). Vanilla bean gelato nothing special but hey it's part of your $25 dinner deal. This is my favorite restaurant in SF! I go AT LEAST twice a month, sometimes more. Their prefixe menu is EXTREMELY generous, the selections from it are ALL FABULOUS, and the service is attentive and great. Where else can you get a decent sized salad, a full entree and a HEAVENLY gelato for $25? Even though I've been enjoying them for more than two years, I've hesitated to write a review because I didn't want to draw more attention (too crowded) or have them raise their prices. Then I realized how selfish we were being and now we are fine to spread the word. Oh, and their spaghetti Bolognese is the best I've ever had in my life, even in Italy, and I am 100% Italian. read more
