Coffee and food are great! Just beware Saturday mornings are crazy! I waited in line for 10mins (people stand in line for so long and then get to the front and have no idea what they want) Then after ordering I waited 35 mins to get my avocado toast! 35 mins!!!! There's a lot people walking in and on top of that they have mobile orders. I get it they're busy but for a coffee shop that's insane it should be a sit down restaurant at this point. I have ordered twice from here during quarantine (to-go only). Really loved the service even if it was only over the phone. My dad wanted strawberry cream cheese for his onion bagel, and the nice woman offered to make some because they did not typically sell that flavor of cream cheese. I think that type of service is what makes it a local favorite. The bacon avocado toast was great - and I enjoyed my bagel and lox. I am pretty skeptical and picky when trying out new places for bagel and lox because most places usually don't put that much lox in their sandwiches. This place definitely doesn't skimp on ingredients or fillings. I have never been inside the shop physically, but my family that runs inside to pick up the order expressed the same sentiments regarding customer service. I hope that once the pandemic ends, I will be able to dine-in. read more

Finally a place that gives veggies it's place of honor. The food was tasty and fresh. I ordered their avocado toast with bacon on squaw bread. Wow... these guys do not skimp on anything- a decent portion of avocado, cucumber, sprouts, red onions, tomato, boiled egg and lots of bacon on top. Love that they have an array of lattes- I choose the Vanilla lavender latte with almond milk. The perfect meal perfect after a rough six months of Covid-19. FYI- they have outside seating but seems to be always full of patrons which says a lot. And I saw all the sanitary precautions in place. Overall great friendly service. read more

BE CAREFUL WHEN PLACING PHONE ORDERS!! I live nearby and I used to come here a lot until the service started to decline. There's a lack of communication between the cashier and the other workers who prepare the food. The last time I came a month ago I placed a phone order and then stood in line to pay and the people before and after got their food and when asked is my phone order ready it was of course sitting on the counter that I seen when I walked in after waiting over half an hour. (This is after I called 20 min ahead.) A month has gone by and I thought to give them a shot again. It felt like deja vu because the same thing happened. The people in front of me and behind me who didn't call ahead received there orders and when asked for my phone order of course it was sitting on the counter. This time I didn't ask for my food to be remade since it had been sitting for over half an hour again. This post was to hopefully inform people for phone orders to double check that there order isn't already made and sitting on the counter getting cold. Also keep track of who is in front of you and behind you that do not have phone orders. Good luck and hopefully they fix this issue. read more

Bixby Joe is great for getting work done! I come here when I want to be productive and work on my laptop. Free wifi! The benches are comfortable with adorable pillows, and plenty of space. As for the coffee, I've had the mocha on the rocks and the iced latte, which both to me seemed on the sweeter side, though I'm sure the sweetness can be modified if you ask. They do have some food items as well, such as bagels, sandwiches, pastries, and their own version of avocado toast with a hard-boiled egg on top. Overall I've had a good experience with this new neighborhood coffee shop, and I know I will be back soon! read more

DJ is the best, he knows your favorite and it's like Cheers when you come in m. He makes the best grilled cheese, just right. My new favorite is the veggie and hummus sandwich, also the pineapple smoothie with ginger and honey, and of course the americano. And carrot cake. Good breakfast, and coffees. They just do NOT have enough people working. When I come into work at 8:00 AM I will be there by 7:30 AM one person is taking orders back to back, and you got one person preparing all the food. I called in advance at 7:35 for a bacon egg and cheese bagel i get there at 7:55 my order was still not ready. I ordered through the app once and I asked for avocado to be added to my bagel and I was charged an additional of 99 cents, when i get my sandwich I come to work to eat it and there was no avocado on my sandwich Another time I ordered my food there and then the girl told me it wasn't ready so I wait on the side as she continues to take orders. I happen to be by the bar, and i see a bunch of drinks and food in the back bar. Once she kills the line she goes to the back bar, and finally starts calling out names, my name gets called. So my food was already ready, but doesn't get called until she kills the line. Additional time I've gone there, I ordered a raspberry bar and lemon bar. I see the girl package it up in a bag and instead of calling out to say it ready, she waits for the cashier girl to finish taking orders so she can call it out. Like what happen to team work make the dream work sisss. They're just short staffed all the time, and even when they do have a decent amount of works, they are all over the place. I love this coffee shop. They have excellent coffee and a nice variety of flavors and seasonal drinks. I discovered this place during the pandemic and they always adhere to the guidelines. This coffee shop is open until 9pm on the weekdays so it worked perfect for me to enjoy while I did my homework using their WiFi. Apparently the wifi was bad before and now it's really fast, and it's true! I arrived on a perfect night, they had live music and it was the owners mom's birthday! So they sang happy birthday to her and they passed a slice of cake to everyone! How cute is that? I ordered a green tea matcha latte, and a chicken panini. Once my drink was ready, I was asked to taste it and if it was sweet enough for my taste. I thought that was really nice. This is my second time here, I came in today and was the first one in line. I ordered a medium vanilla iced latte with oat milk. As I'm waiting I noticed the girl who was behind me in line starting to get her order, I didn't make a big deal about it until almost 20 minutes went by. I asked the barista if they called my name already, come to find out they "lost my order." The coffee is good but I could've went to Starbucks for about the same quality and have it ordered ahead already waiting for me to pick it up. Soo the owner manager is personable and excellent with names. Your specialty here is that the food is well prepared. I recommend the breakfast sammies on a bagel. Later in the day wraps and salads are also available. Healthy options like bananas and fruit cups are available. Lots of beverage choices beyond coffee. All teas are prepared when ordered. The place has become very busy and has well attended event nights like open mic. night. read more

Very good food and drinks! Four stars because service here could benefit from some better organization and accountability. Order pick up and check the order. I sat by the handoff counter so I could clearly hear the numbers they called out and collect my order. Most of my order was made and I was waiting for the last item. The barista called out 62, a number after mine. Another customer quickly took the first item. I realized the barista called the same number again and no one came to collect the second item. Things slowed and people behind me in line were collecting their food orders. The barista making food put their hands up in a "I'm done" sign. So I went and asked. They checked the sandwich on the counter and they realized a customer took the wrong one. They told me they would remake it for me. That's fine. Mistakes happen. I didn't tell them the barista called the wrong number for the first order. They put numbers on the items but if people don't hear the right number and don't look, what's the point? It might be better to have the barista wait to hand things off and confirm the number? I didn't say these notes but just said "That's fine. Thank you." I was a Barista for four years, I always tip well and try not to complain. However, I ended up still waiting for my item for another 15 minutes because they decided to make it a training opportunity. They had a new hire (Told me they were new as they struggled with the POS system) move from the register to the food counter to get trained on how to make my item while they made it. So, I had to ask for a bag twice as I defended my other items from flies and they fixed their mistake as slowly as was convenient for them. read more

But this morning they had the phone off the hook (I think they do that During their breakfast rush). I was in the area so I just walked in. Big mistake. They were busy, but not ridiculously so, but it literally took 30+ minutes from the time they took my order till it was handed to me. Front counter staff and helpers are all always very nice. But when the owner handed it to me today and I asked what happened he just shook his head and said "a lot of orders". He didn't smile, thank me or apologize. It was cut and dry. It felt like they don't need me or my business (because they're doing SO well I guess). Which really sucks because I love this place. Before today I felt a part of a little community that knows a delicious secret in the Bixby Knolls area. Now I'm kind of sad. To the owner of Bixby Joe's I hope you read this. Just a few words to me could have kept you at 5 's. But I guess you have enough base clientele for me not to matter, and you know I'll probably keep coming back because my coworkers like your bagels too. I certainly do. My sister and I stopped by for a quick bite before work and this place is a real hidden gem. Their turkey/ham chicken wraps are so good. Their coffee is so good. The chicken wrap is so good. Their customer service was... you guessed it; SO GOOD. The ambiance of the location is relaxing and I just wanted to read a book just to join the community.
