Wow how it pains me to say that this chain of restaurants has gone down in quality and value. I mean if you want to come in for drinks sure but the foods is atrocious. I ordered a Santa Fe salad I mean how are you gonna mess up on a salad? But the chicken tasted disgusting. It tasted like old Burt frying oil. The dressing had no flavor. We ordered a flatbread pizza and the crust tasted like it was one of those frozen pizzas.

The avocado egg rolls over fried and burnt. Our waitress was nice but as far as the restaurant it was nasty. We had flies bugging us and flying all over the whole time.

My boyfriend and I stopped here for dinner because we were just at Round1. With how late it was and the area we were in, we didn't have much options that we wanted to explore. We came to BJs. Usually it doesn't disappoint, but this experience was something different. The service wasn't great, but it wasn't super awful either. It felt like the waitress was ready to call it night, so she sort of half ass her job.

For appetizers we ordered the avocado egg roll. I got the ribeye steak with asparagus and cheddar mashed potatoes while my bf got the ahi tuna salad. I had asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare and I had wanted the cheddar...

mashed potatoes. Instead my steak was borderline well done, I got plain mashed potatoes, and the asparagus had some pieces that were bad. The ahi salad, was asked to be prepared without the rice wine vinaigrette, and to be brought out with a side or ranch. The tomatoes were in large pieces, as if they were trying to rush the salad making, it was a bit of a messy plate. The looked on my bf face as he ate it was not pleasing. When I took a bite of his salad, I realize that they didn't leave out the vinaigrette. We kinda felt ignored, when we needed to make food request, at least the server refilled my ice tea. I don't know, maybe it's just the area the restaurant was in? We probably would have been better off going through a drive through.

empty dishes to remain on our small table. The large appetizer platter remained on the table as the salads, soups, and main course dishes were brought out. At one point, we began to stack the unwanted dirty dishes on a corner of the table so they could be seen. Before we left, we needed to speak to the manager regarding another matter, and she noticed a stack of dirty dishes on the table corner and offered to take it away. This was a second stack. Unfortunately, we failed to mention to her that the long-handled dessert serving spoons accompanying the ice cream had traces of earlier servings of dessert usage. We notified our waiter, Robert, who immediately responded with new spoons and these only showed a mere swipe of previous usage, smeared the length of the long-handled spoon. We didn't bother him again. We decided to give him a more than 20% tip that probably surprised him. We ate our desserts with the spoons and forks that had been left on our table with the dirty dishes because we knew who had just eaten and left those germs on the silverware! Cleanliness matters! I hope the manager realizes that non-chalant or dismissive staff are a reflection on her, unfortunately.

My friend enjoyed her clam chowder in a bread bowl. The top of the bowl had been sliced into a small piece and toasted. I had a bite and it was delicious. My friend also ordered hot tea. No choice on tea was offered and she ended up...

with two bags of chamomile. That selection was fine with her but quite odd that a black tea was not offered. I had the vegetarian BJ Brewhouse Bowl. (Also available with chicken, shrimp, or salmon.) Love the combination and quite filling. One of the more economical lunches (aside from the lunch specials.) Overall BJ's has a good menu. Something for almost every taste. Pazookies are not my favorite so it would be nice to have another dessert option other than a scoop of ice cream. BJ Brewhouse is looking a bit "tired" ... which can be said of all of Sunvalley. But it still is a decent option when in the area. I'll be back ... despite my three star rating. Food is four stars, but atmosphere and service lower.

Went for our 27th anniversary, and the experience was amazing. I ordered a somewhat-complicated manhattan that wasn't on the menu and our server Justina made it happen! She was super accommodating with my wife's tree nut allergy as well which was so refreshing, since not a lot of restaurants nowadays look out for the little guy. We ordered the Mac&cheese balls for starters, and my prime rib was cooked great as well, compliments to the kitchen! The music was a bit loud but thankfully it was good music :-) definitely another great anniversary on the books because out or server! You rock Justina! -Rich.

What a joke ! Who is running this place? After they screwed my delivery order up, which I ordered through their website. Supposedly my order was cancelled 45 min after I ordered it due to there being no more tritip! I called and spoke with a manager. I told him, you already charged my credit card and charged me for delivery , but I was hungry so I said I'd come pick the order up. Now they have tri tip available again an hour later. That's funny! He told me my order got cancelled because there was no tri tip. Anyhow, I drive down there to get my order, the guy in front seemed brain dead . I told him my name and I was picking up a takeout order. I sat there waiting 15 min and he says , duhhh what's the name for the order again? I give him my name again and he grabs the bag that was sitting there the whole time I'd been waiting. I get home and look in the bag and there is no salad , the baked potato has nothing on it , not how I ordered it and the tri tip was like chewing on a piece of leather. Top it all off and my pazooli cookie is missing the ice cream. Do these people even care to try and get someone's order right? I work hard for my money and to have it wasted on an order that was all wrong and thrown together half ass really pisses me off. So after reading the reply from the business owner below , to contact them at their email which I did , and never heard back from them. I didn't think I would !

Yesterday was my daughter's birthday, so we decided to celebrate at BJ's. With no prior reservation, we arrived at 8 p.m. as a party of 8. The in-laws were in attendance. The wait was reasonable given our party size, and believe it or not, there were quite a few people dining. I wish they had a separate area for larger parties that didn't involve seating us in the middle of the walkway, but what other choice did they have? Our waiter started off strong. He greeted us, gathered our drink and appetizer orders right away. We were saddened to hear they discontinued their root beer wings (a family favorite), so we opted for their peppered BBQ wings as well as the lemon pepper wings. Both were bone-in. Although they weren't as good as the root beer wings, we all agreed the peppered BBQ wings were the better of the chosen appetizers. I ordered my usual jambalaya ( it's a safe choice) along with a side of the honey sriracha Brussels sprouts. My F-I-L ordered the pork chop with mash and asparagus. My S.O. ordered prime rib (medium-rare) mash and asparagus as well. Of course, there were others at the table, but those are the three entrees I'm going to focus on. The food arrived before our table was cleared. The table was never cleared until the end. A pet peeve that will ruin a pleasurable dining experience is being rushed to order, entrees arriving without the appetizer plates being cleared, and being thirsty without water or the waiter in sight. We were victims of all three. As you can imagine, we are already a large party, so space as well as movement were limited when placing the food on the table and indulging. The jambalaya is my safe choice for a reason. Despite how bland I found it to be, it was still edible. The honey sriracha sprouts were a great mix of sweet and spicy with a little crunch to it. It was my favorite part of my meal. The pork chop looked amazing and was well plated and sized nicely, my F-I-L did however complain that it was also bland, we joked that the asparagus were so thin we called them shoelace asparagus, too emaciated to enjoy. As for the prime rib, it was prepared medium rare as requested and devoured though again it was found to be rather bland in flavor. As we went around the table eating our meals, my daughter's baked potato received the highest rating of an 8.4/10. The Pork chop was rated a 7/10, the Prime Rib was an 8/10 and my jambalaya was a solid 7/10. The waiter refilled water for two out of the 8 of us without having to be asked immediately after the food was delivered, in spite of the other cups being visibly half empty. We waited quite a bit for the waiter to return to offer to go containers and take our dessert orders, at this time our table still hadn't been cleared. At this point we have appetizer plates, dinner plates, to-go containers all on the table as the dessert arrived. It wasn't until the birthday pizookie was placed on the table, that the table was cleaned. Around this time we also noted that the door directly adjacent to the table was being opened and closed often resulting in an uncomfortably cold breeze disrupting our enjoyment. With a table full of all the things, and a breeze that gave winter and food that didn't quite meet our standard, we were ready to leave and so we did. The food and service quality has left much to be desired so it will likely be a while before we visit again.

We're finally done with our SF assignment, and I'm so glad to be outta there, with all that traffic and crowds and high prices. Back in the East Bay now and it time to get some lunch. BJ's Brewhouse still has the $13 Pizookie specials. I've had these before at other locations and really thought they were a great deal and very tasty! This location is right off Contra Costa Blvd. in the Sun Valley Mall. Just turn in and park in front. It's so nice to have a big parking lot compared to that disaster in SF! We get seated and drink orders taken. I got the $13 Pizookie special with the Classic topping personal deep dish pizza. You have a bunch of other choices, even a burger, but I think the deep dish is the best deal, cause it comes with a salad as well. All of the Pizookie specials come with a mini Pizookie dessert of different flavors. That mini size is plenty of dessert, yep it's super sweet if you're one of those people that needs to watch their sugar intake. Three outta the four on my crew get the deep dish pizza option. It was a little while for them to come out. We got the salads first and I gotta say the side salads are decent sized here for sure. The pizzas seem small in diameter, but they're real thick and not just all thick with bread but all the toppings! We all finished with that Pizookie dessert and I had the strawberry and cream version, I was actually pretty damn tasty. I'd come back to BJ's of any location as long as they keep this Pizookie deal going!

Came here for happy hour a couple of weeks ago. The bartender was super friendly and constantly checked in on us. Margaritas were great. We also got some wings and a personal pizza. I loved the all meat personal pizza. Loved all the toppings! Good deal on happy hour!!

I had low expectations walking in as I saw two of the staff sitting on a bench at the front door smoking vapes. A complete turn off and such a sanitary situation. They walked in with us, looking back as I mentioned the fact they shouldn't be smoking at the door. Aaron was our server. He was very attentive and friendly. Took our order and it was accurate. The food was good and fresh. Pizza was cheesy and crust was buttery. Pepperoni galore. Salad was delicious and full flavor. The pizookie- triple chocolate chunk- so good. Overall, a good experience. We will be back

Always wanted to try out their $13 pizzokie meal deal, so I finally had time to give it a shot. I ordered via online, so it would be a lot easier for me to pick it up once I arrive at the Mall. Smash Burger: It was a pretty decent burger for the price. There were two patties smashed together, along with the normal fixings of cheese, produce and pickles. It was not too greasy nor too oily. The sauce was not overwhelming either, so the bun was able to keep its form. The fries were a bit of a letdown. It was crispy but I fed the amount I got was a lot less than what I would get if I dined in. Salted Caramel Pizzokie: I chose this as my little dessert. Everything comes separate, so you can assemble it at home. It was a lot of ice cream for the little cookie, but it was absolutely delicious. Definitely taste the salt and the caramel counter balances it for the sweetness. The chips were also a good texture. Overall, I can see myself ordering here again, especially for the pizzokie deal.

Overall pleasant experience during a short visit solely for a dessert and a to-go food. BJ's restaurant and brewhouse is located at SunValley Shopping Center, just outside by the parking lot and no need to go inside the mall itself. This place reminds me of Applebees or Outback steakhouse and similar places vibe. The front person is somehow not attentive, no greetings nor us asked why we are there, we had to ask him and say for two to be assisted and seated. I finally had the opportunity to taste the mouth watering pizookie, we had the salted caramel pizookie and chocolate chunk pizookie, and delectable chicken parmigiana dinner. The server Jade is amazing and helped us all throughout the short visit. Out food arrived in a timely manner, a little bit wait is expected as it is a Sunday I assume. They have a bar, also have an outdoor seating. Overall it's a good experience and would like to come back and try the weekday deals.

Hello. My friends and I were at Bjs yesterday, June 11th at around 8 pm when the mall closed. We were a group of 4 teenage girls and felt like we were getting mistreated because of that. Once we arrived we had to wait about 15-20 minutes which is fine we didn't mind that. When we were seated one of the servers who is a little bit on the shorter side and wore glasses threw us three coasters when there were four of us and said "'ll be back to take your guys's orders." About 15-20 minutes go by and no sign of any workers to take our order. When we were helped by a different sever we ordered drinks and our pizookies together since that's all we were there for. Another 15 minutes go by, no drinks in sight and not even another coaster. After about 45 minutes we get our drinks and then soon after we got out pizookies but, one of them were wrong so the servers brought it back to the kitchen. My friends and I asked for some plates and a couple more spoons and when we were given them, one of the plates were dirty with pizza grease and some sort of pizza toppings. (i'll insert a photo below) We ate the first pizookie in about 10 minutes and waited for our second one for about 20 minutes. While we were eating, we weren't checked up on at all but the tables around us were. When my friends and I were ready to pay we scanned the qr code on our table and found out it didn't work. So, we tried to get one of our servers attention to get the check but we were completely ignored. Once the check was brought we waited another 20 minutes for our server to come pick it up. I understand restaurants can get busy but, at around the time we were there it wasn't that busy at all. My friends and I noticed that all the tables around us were getting served and checked up on regularly and we weren't. After we left we had called the restaurant and were put on hold for the manager. When they answered it instantly hung up. We called again and talked to one of the managers didn't seem to care. We have gone to this location before and it was perfectly fine. I just wanted to come on here and warn people that my friends and I did not have a good experience here yesterday.

Came to BJ's twice and each time the service exceeded expectations. The staff here are friendly, attentive, and quick. BJ is also kid/family friendly. The food, in particular the smash burger is surprisingly good. I always just thought BJ was known for its pizza and pazooki, but the burger is nothing to sneeze at. It's very flavorful, well proportioned, and hits just right. The fries are also crispy on the outside and moist on the inside - very addictive. Will definitely come back and recommend for a family outing.

BJ's is killer when it comes to pizookie. The Concord location has pleasant people working there. Dining at BJ's is always a great time, sports, beers, mozz sticks, can't go wrong. The biscoff pizookie was not as overwhelming as I expected. It was crispy and warm. The ice cream combo was spot on.

The wings are really big and can get you full quick af! The drinks are really good and I recommend the Spicy Margarita. Parking was kind of hard but glad we found a spot because Julie M. was a really great server out of all the different servers I've had here. Vibes were on point tonight.

What has happened to BJ's? This place used to be fun. Once upon a time this place set a standard in the industry for excellent management and consistent food quality. The last few times I've decided to dine with them my experience was horrible. I took my daughter there last night and the place was quiet, very few customers, and the music was so low I could barely hear it. My booth was old and worn out with holes in it. My server was not friendly and seemed to not care. I ordered the Philly Cheese Stake sandwich and it came out very sad looking. The bread was stale and hard. The sandwich was very dry. I couldn't finish it. The sweet potato fries were delicious though. My daughter had the clam chowder in a bread bowl. I liked the presentation because the turned the bead bowl lid into garlic bread. I had never seen that before. The soup itself was lukewarm which made me worry about whether or not it was safe to eat. I don't think they were holding it at the proper temperature to prevent bacteria growth. I never saw a manager which is disappointing. I hope they get back to there core values. I don't think I'll be back to find out though. read more

I frequent this restaurant often and have for a long time. Today, a female bartender served me at the bar top. It was a slow, Tuesday night and I was alone. Nothing that I asked for came out correctly and the to-go containers I asked for, she just decided to bring me what she wanted me to have. I'm sorry, but if you can't listen to a single customer on a slow night, you should not be behind the bar, let alone in the service industry. Ugh! read more

I havent been to a BJ's since going to the one in Fremont back in 2010. Now that I have offspring, thought it would be nice to pay a visit. The nice hostess sat us at a cozy round booth which fit 1 adult and 3 kids well. Hostess did set the expectation there was a party before us and Justina would be with us shortly. Within 2 minutes Justina appeared welcoming us and asking how I was doing. Well I need a (cough) adult beverage. She got our drinks while we scan the menús we each kid already knowing what they wanted. Food came out fresh, hot and overall was an awesome experience on a beautiful Satuday afternoon. Justina kept tas on us to make sure drinks were good as well as the food. Kudos to Justina read more

My son and his IYT group and a lot of his team mates from his basketball team went there from 2pm-4pm and had a really bad experience with the server. The server stated they do not accept cash and they only accept card. Unfortunately for my son. His group leader was able to buy him something but my son didn't want to impose because the group leader was paying for a lot of people because of the issue. Really disappointed. I used to recommended this place all the time. I mean all the time. Key phrase "used" to. No longer.. I would bring my staff members here and treat them or suggest this place when our District would have a managers bonding meeting. They really going to starve a kid and his group and say they don't accept cash but when I called and spoke to a manager he says they accept cash ( I know they do but does your staff know? ). They should really train their team better. Bad service. read more

We visited BJ'S at SunValley Mall in Concord ca. We had a charming diamond ear studed waiter named CARLOS V #114. From his first contact -- introducing himself to all the great service he gave us during our ordering and during our enjoying our steak diner , chips , guacamole/ salsa entre- and drinks. We will return to this BJ'S and hopefully have CARLOS V attend to us again. We strongly recommend the RIB EYE medium rare. Thank you CARLOS V and BJ's.. Bon apetite! I'm not going to give it a 1 start because I can vouch that this location can be a good as I remembered it. Also I want to say thank you to Brian for being a great server and for stepping in when needed. However, I was very unhappy with my experience today. To start, we were seated at a table that was dirty. It wasn't filthy, but I had to ask twice to have it wiped down because our first server never sent someone to do it. Mind you we were sitting at the table for a good 15 minutes waiting for them to take our order. She leaves, then here comes Brian. He looks like he just walked to the section trying to get it under control. I asked him if someone can wipe the table. He offered to seat us elsewhere but I said no. He then wipes the table himself. That's amazing. Later I notice that my napkin is dirty. Like seriously? I asked for a new one and but this is annoying. We get the food and my fries are stale. I'm not asking for it to be made super fresh but I'm also not trying to be chewing cardboard. Brian asked me if was ready for my pizzookie. I was like no because I was ready to go. He told me that it came with my meal. I should have read the menu better but I feel like it would have been great if the person that took my order let me know about a special that comes with it. If everything was cool to begin with, I would have ended up buying one. Thankfully dude knows the menu and knows what he's talking about. In the history of me eating out, I've never not left a tip. Im sorry Brian. I'm not trying to be a bitter customer but your team let you down. After all of this, I was terrified to eat my food. I understand this place is full of young people trying to get paid. But honestly, a good amount of them are an embarrassment to have on the roster. I wish this location better luck in the future. read more

I will absolutely NEVER come to this location again! The service was terrible. Our waitress made a point to let us know we are her only table yet all orders were wrong. 3 had to be remade. The waitress was incredibly rude to the point I thought it was a prank. I assure you it was not. We asked to order dessert & she outright refused. She said "it was all too much for her" we had a graduation celebration. We had a large party. Only 2 children. Nobody had alcohol & we were all very respectful so the unkindness was completely unjustified. Two kids had to leave without their pizookies because she was clearly stressed out & having a bad day. Keep in mind that they have plenty of other workers & we are her only table yet she can't handle it she should have given that opportunity to another server . We all remained very calm but it was outrageous how horrible the service & food was for the price. My husband's steak wasn't well done it was burnt , when he asked for medium rare. This woman made over 100$ in tip money she automatically added after the first person paid & left her nothing . She didn't even bring anything out for anyone. She took our orders walked away , didn't come back until she had a check & gained $100 in tip money for the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life at any business. I highly recommend you go to another location or just somewhere else completely! If I could give zero stars I would have. read more

Finally got the chance to come to the BJ's at the mall - I know this is a chain all over the country - my wife has been to a couple in other states and kept saying we should try this one. Came on Saturday afternoon for lunch. Not a lot of people and our server was a young lady who did a good job. I like the beer selection - both regular craft beers from all over the bay area (Henhouse, Fieldwork and Lagunitas to name a few) which is great - really great selection and BJ's own beer which I have yet to try but hope to at some point. The problem was the food. We ordered the mini pizzas - two of them at 16 bucks a piece. We finished our pizzas in less than 5 minutes and were still hungry. Over 40 bucks later, food that took us less than 5 minutes to eat but took 25 minutes to get it not acceptable. The pizza itself was not bad but was essentially the equivalent of a slice of pizza from a regular pizza place. Ridiculous how small those are. And for 16 bucks a piece. 8 bucks I could see. But 16? And that wait. We had to get more food right after because neither of us was remotely full after that tiny, expensive pizza. Going into a restaurant, dropping close to 50 bucks for lunch and leaving still hungry is very, very bad. Would be 2 stars but the young lady who was our staff person did a good job and apologized for the long wait to get our tiny pizzas so I make it 3 stars. read more

I had to plan a going away party for work friends. Bj's was near our workplace so I check it out. Giovanni (manager) gave me a tour of the area we could have our event (raised section in the restaurant). The event was for a group of 20 for dinner and drinks. We selected from the buffet menu. The food was great, the set up was perfect and the group was happy with the event. Giovanni and his crew took great care of us. I would recommend this location for a group get together. read more

So normally this is one of my go to spots. Honestly, I don't know what happened this time. We didn't get the drink with the kids order (may have been DoorDash's fault), my husband got the tri-tip and chicken combo and literally choked on the fat and it definitely wasn't a tri-tip cut. My fish tacos were so fishy I spit out the fish (usually those are super yummy). I don't know if they were just having an off night, but needless to say we are going to bed hungry. Usually, I eat in with my friend and we have had mostly good experiences. I will say that the manager was super nice about all of it, but tonight was disappointing. read more

We always enjoy ourselves when we come to BJ's. The husband loves trying the always rotating beer selection. The portions are huge, even at lunch, big enough to share. Shared some mozzarella sticks with the little to start with. She got the chicken Parmesan and I got soup and salad. There is lots of seating but it can get busy since it is just outside the mall. read more

Still no dessert. Asked to speak to mgr - however his excuse was that they got busy. I understand busy and off nights - but this is not the first service has been terrible. Mrg asked what I wanted, and I stated that bday girl never even got her birthday dessert. I was tossed a pzookie card (not valid with any other discounts or coupons). Not what I had in mind. It may not sound like a big deal... but you will have to take my word on this. It was a HUGE deal. It's been quite awhile since I've been back to BJ's and their Pazookies. I was a little surprised that the restaurant was pretty empty at 6:45 on a Thursday night. Still had to wait though for about ten minutes. We were seated and received a greeting from our server. We ordered nachos to start and our entrees. Food was good, not amazing. Highlights were the Surf and Turf with sautéed shrimp and filet, Prime Rib dip, and shrimp scampi pasta. Service was hit and miss- our guy went on break after bringing our food but never came back. Decided on BJ's for early Father's Day dinner, seemed like others were doing the same as it was about a 10-15 min wait for a table. After being sat, our server El Dante (the El was optional per him) came by to take our drink order. He was very friendly and always had a smile when he checked on us. Beers (stout & porter), waters & iced tea came out and we ordered our entrees. Dad decided on a Strawberry fields salad, mom and bf ordered the Prime Rib & I chose the BBQ Chicken Pizza. Food was good, the prime rib was more on the Medium side than Medium Well like they requested. The pizzookies came with the prime rib special, so we got the Strawberry Shortcake & White Chocolate Macadamia Nut. We would go back, but maybe when it's not as busy...so early lunch or maybe a weekday. read more

Okay yassssssss QUEENNNNSSSS!!!! The Dendinger's went to BJ's for family dinner. The place looked so nice from the outside. We decided to go through the Round doors. When we got in we were greeted by the hosts and asked us party of 4 we said yes. Table was ready for us right away. We had brought a big uno cards game to just enjoy our night. I ordered the Parmesan chicken with spaghetti. For drinks I ordered the Lavender lemonade sparkling no alcohol and a Dr Pepper. Wife ordered a bacon cheese burger and a Mountain Dew my daughter ordered the same as her. My son ordered the grilled chicken Alfredo. For the table we ordered the chicken pesto pizza and spinach, artichoke dip. All the food was amazing I had some of the pizza while eating my parm chicken. The chicken was not dry it was juicy and very crunchy from the outside of the breadcrumbs. Wife hamburger was a hit as well as for my daughter. My son was fascinated with the garlic knot he was given and all the broccoli he could want in that pasta it was a yes to coming back for a family night out. Not to mention as well to go visit our best server Rocco this guy deserves a best employee award. All the time he had a smile not only that he was hilarious. He did not think of our table as that omg can't wait for this table to go home type instead he actually laughed when my wife said "she said she won't put out tonight in going to have to get two separate checks" yes we know how inappropriate but hey we are weird sorry not sorry. But wait I forgot a few things and I mention for dessert I had the strawberry shortcake Pazookis with chocolate chip ice cream my daughter wanted a root-beer float he brought her the kids size one and it was amazing. I was asked to email the company to talk about what happened and I did. They responded by telling me how somebody will call me within one to two days never got a call never see the voicemail. No nothing they didn't even try to reach out to me and this was back in July 21. I tried to email them again that I didn't get a response and still nothing. I can't say I'm surprised with the way the customer service was in the restaurant and how it's being handled now. I just don't see the point in telling me to email them just for them to not say nothing at all. read more

But customer service needs a serious rebranding. I have never had a good in person/over the phone experience. Their food speaks for itself, but the customer service skills really takes away the value of a local business that has been around for years. I had heard so many great things about BJ's that I couldn't wait to go and try out their signature burger and their Ultimate Long Island. But there were too many things wrong with my experience: Strike 1: I tried their signature BJ's Burger with additional bacon, and the sandwich is served on a toasted garlic french roll instead of a traditional hamburger bun. Oddly enough, I didn't taste any garlic at all while biting into the roll. I had asked for my burger to be cooked medium-rare, and it was served medium-well. (At least the wedge-cut seasoned fries made up for the burger's lack of flavor and juiciness!) Strike 2: I was a bit disappointed in their Ultimate Long Island Iced Tea. It was watered down and had a dark amber color instead of the light blond color it should have. Lo and behold, with my first sip, my taste buds were assaulted with the sweet taste of PEPSI instead of the signature Coke. It also had notes of orange and other things that I do not believe should be in anything called a Long Island. (After drinking it, I looked up the ingredients online and realized that it is created with vodka, gin, rum, orange liquer, sweet & sour and Pepsi instead of the classic vodka, tequila, rum, gin, triple sec, sweet & sour, and Coke.) The mixture they serve is definitely NOT recommended. Strike 3: The area in which we were seated was facing a window at sunset. As the sun set behind the building, it suddenly came into view and the waitstaff could not adjust the blinds in any fashion to prevent the searing white light from blinding us as we ate. Apparently, part of the blinds above the window cannot be adjusted. Anyway, the burger and the "Long Island" cost me $30. I guess the only good thing was that the Dallas Mavericks won the NBA championship while I was there! NOTE: The floors are extremely slippery, so make sure you are wearing a decent pair of non-slip tennis shoes or boots that are made with recycled radial tires. Don't say I didn't warn you. read more

can i emphasize how obvious it is that this business is only out to make money with only interest of themselves and not their customers? let me begin... when i was sat, i was sat literally within inches of another dining customer. all of the tables were soo clustered together that there was no breathing room. i could hear everything in full vivid detail of what the people next to me were talking about without trying to eaves drop. now lets talk about the food... i ordered a steak. it was so chewy, i couldn't even hardly swallow the thing without thinking i was going to choke. i ordered a beer. it was a simple 12 oz. fat tire they they had the audacity to charge me $6.25 for. thats straight rape! sorry. i understand that you all want to charge as much as possible and try to keep the tab up so that the servers get a grip of tips being %20 of the bill, but they honestly dont deserve it for the lack of work they do for the over priced menu, when there are food runners, and bus boys doing most of their job. the servers wear a "professional attire" with their white button up collars and their attitude of being so sophisticated, its such a joke. anyway.. my biggest prob was having to sit next to people without any space between us. how freaking tacky! just cram us in there and roll in those bucks guys!! ... most def not about their customers. BJ's feels very much like a gigantic sports bar. It probably is. I joined a friend for Happy Hour here on Thursday. We walked in a bit early (nearly 4pm) and headed straight for the bar. Our bartender was energetic, helpful and very knowledgeable about all their draft beers....and trust me there's a lot! I like when places give you samples to try before you buy. She definitely helped us out there...I was able to sample a "Nutty Brunette" and a "Jeremiah Red." Gotta go with the red for round 1. After talking and drinking, I realized that I was starting to feel a bit loopy and ordering food would be the best idea. Mini Pizzas were 1/2 off, and so of course we had to get one: Margherita Mini deep-dish pizza. Not salty, felt a bit light yet filling enough to eliminate the buzz. That can't happen so we decided to order another round...this time she let us sample the Lindeman's Framboise, and a pear sparkling cider (sorry, didn't catch the name). Lindeman's Framboise was my choice, a sweet raspberry fizzy cider-like beverage. Not as heavy as a malt beverage like Mike's Hard Lemonade. By the time we were done, the restaurant had filled up and the room was a-flutter with people talking about how glad they are to be done with work for the day. The staff appears friendly but they should listen better and be specific with what the order is. I ordered a New California Supreme Pizza and I received not what I ordered. It turns out the waiter only wrote down what he thought/assumed was the ingredients of the Pizza "Spinach and Artichokes" but not the NEW CALIFORNIA SUPREME PIZZA. Unfortunately when I realized what I had ordered, our waiter was on a dinner break and someone else took over. When I asked the waitress that took over "Excuse me what kind of Pizza is this?" she responded really RUDELY and said, "What do you mean what is this?" Then I asked that I could borrow a menu and I showed her what I wanted the NEW CALIFORNIA SUPREME PIZZA and she said, "Well that's what he wrote on the slip, he wrote "Spinach and artichoke pizza" once again in a snotty tone of voice then finally she asked, "Do you want me to change it? I can give you a new one." Even though I was disappointed and I didn't want to ruin my evening, I just shook my head and said, "no it's okay". We are fans of BJ's in general; NOT THIS LOCATION. Our server Savannah was horrible. Barely seen and certainly not attentive. Server stations to either side of us, the servers were hustling. People coming in well after us were getting their food; pizzas, large orders.... etc. Savan... takes our order.... close to 30 minutes later NO FOOD. Motioned to who appeared to be the Manager, who made eye contact then went directly into the bathroom. Able to flag down our server, she says Oh... We're waiting for the french dip. (We ordered a french dip and large pizza). Finally the order arrives. THE PIZZA WAS WRONG! (the receipt shows the server put it in wrong) and the meat to the french dip dried out. Kept the sandwich; starving. The pizza was reordered... Being fans of BJ's, was disappointed to find the pizza is no better; overall, than a takeout from that delivery place with a Domino on the box. BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse (2 out of 5 stars) We really enjoy the food at BJ's, but the service continues to fall short, both with dine-in and takeout. I've spoken to Jose, the GM, and other managers on multiple occasions in the past, yet the problems keep happening. Tonight I placed a takeout order--and once again, it was wrong. My girlfriend's entire entrée was missing. I normally double-check, but I didn't this time. When I got home and noticed, I tried calling the restaurant to resolve it. I was on hold for over 25 minutes with no answer, and never got the chance to speak with anyone or request a refund. This kind of customer service is unacceptable. It's really disappointing because the food is great, but the lack of consistency, poor order accuracy, and no accountability have become the norm. We want to keep supporting BJ's, but it's hard to trust that we'll get what we pay for. read more

From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in good hands! A super attentive busboy noticed no one was at the host stand and--like a restaurant superhero--quickly ditched his dishes to seat us. Absolute gem of a human! Then came Austin, our server, who was all smiles (seriously, so many smiles!) and made sure we had everything we needed. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he even helped us navigate the menu like a pro. Now, onto the food! The tortilla soup? Packed with an incredible amount of chicken, though a bit salty for my taste. But the clam chowder? Absolute perfection. And let's talk about that vanilla ice cream--so good, we were raving about it. Turns out, it's Austin's favorite too! I had a wonderful dining experience at BJ's Brewhouse in Concord, and a big part of that was thanks to our server, Julie M. From the moment we were seated, she made us feel welcome and comfortable. Julie was attentive without being overbearing, had great menu recommendations (the Southwest salad was spot-on!), and checked in just enough to make sure we were doing well without interrupting our conversation. Our drinks were always full, our orders were accurate, and the timing between courses was perfect. Even when the restaurant got busier, Julie remained calm, friendly, and efficient. It's clear that she takes pride in providing great service. Julie definitely made our visit worthwhile . We'll definitely be back--and hope to sit in her section again! read more

I've been in there 10 times in 2016. 2 out of 10 times they get things right. I usually order the Chipotle Salmon and usually what happens is its undercooked and with a different sauce than what what described. One time it was so bad it has has gotten me sick... The 2 times they got it right was very good however... service was lacking. There have been times where it took an hour to get seated (understandable) then 1:45hr to get our food because the server forgot about us and served the other tables. Also, never forget your wallet because the manager refused to let me look under the table even though I knew it was there. So, this is an update to my last review. Everything about my last review still stands - good food, good beer. Try their IPA and/or the Nit Wit - very good. Why the downgrade? Service. It was atrocious. The drinks came quick, which was nice. We ordered our food (two mini pizzas and a salad). It took 30min for the salad and another 40min for the pizza. During this time we heard nothing from our server. He was too busy with the group of 15ppl that had been seated in his section. When our food finally arrived, it was cold. It took another 5min for the server to get us some ranch. I get that the guy was busy, but at least check in or ask a co-worker/manager for some help. read more

absolutely disheartened by the service I received by not only the server but the staff in the front. Our server started out with a very rude attitude at the first interaction, but the worst was when me and my party of 5 were flat out told "you do know that what you are ordering is $33." What?? We were a group of younger people, coming from someone in the restaurant industry i understand the notion of younger people not "tipping" or being harder to deal with, but me and my party were nothing but respectful and received very poor service by our server Makenzie. The soups here are TERRIBLE! The clam chowder was so beyond salty, the brocolli cheddar tasted like canned nacho sauce, and the chicken tortilla soup was the only one passable. It had several slivers of avocado and chips I picked out leaving the highly toxic processed brown stuff on the bottom. The pizzas were above average. Stick with the pizzas. This place should be prohibited from serving these inedible soups. They are about beer and the soups sucked. Even the caesar salad was terrible. Jack in the Box salads taste better. Food is generally good and have always had good service, until today. Had really poor server this morning in the bar. Got order wrong, then argued it was us who was wrong. He never once came by the table, other than to collect dirty plates. Didn't seem to care. Overheard him complaining to other customers he had a large group that wanted separate checks (the reason he wasn't very attentive to them). Gave us the bill and when we asked for change so we could pay exact amount, he said "I DON'T HAVE TIME." Hope management reads these reviews, because usually the servers are great here. read more

I had such a great experience at BJ's, and a huge part of that was our server, Justina. She was super friendly from the moment we sat down and made us feel really welcome. She checked on us at the right times without being overbearing, kept our drinks filled, and made sure everything came out exactly how we ordered it. Ate lunch here today. One thing I don't understnad is why the don't offer a lunch menu on the weekends. They said because most people have more time on weekends and the food on the lunch menu is designed to be made quickly. OK, but what about the poeple that don't eat those huge portions. Their pizzas are still delicious, but for the most part the rest of their food is over-salty and you can tell it's pre-packaged for the masses. I will give them that their beers are quite tasty, and they make a mean bloody mary (which goes well with beer too!), so I do enjoy going there, especially if a good sports game is on. Overall, I'd say 3 and a HALF stars, but Yelp doesn't allow the half star bonus. :) read more

Saturday i went to BJ's around ll:30 with 2 other people. The restaurant is dark and dreary. We asked for a window table and the waiter said "I have to go talk to my supervisor." Really? There was a total of 20 customers in the restaurant, otherwise, empty. I turned around and walked out. If a restaurant is open for the lunch "crowd" they should have enoiugh employees to adequately serve the customers. It was Saturday and noon houir . . so we left and went to Rred Robin and had a wonderful meal . .served immediately . No hassle read more

Stopped by BJ's in Concord for dinner and had a good overall experience. The highlight of the meal was definitely the Biscoff Pazookie...warm, rich, and absolutely worth saving room for. Easily the best thing we ordered. The Ahi Tuna Salad was decent but not particularly memorable. Cocktails were okay and got the job done, though nothing stood out. Service was friendly, attentive, and one of the stronger parts of the experience. The food overall was average solid chain restaurant fare. It is popular though and always busy. read more

Every time I attend BJ's I am pleasantly surprised by the wonderful service I receive. The food is great and they always let me sample the beer, considering I am not usually a beer drinking. I've ordered anything from their pizza to avocado rolls to their delicious balsamic chicken with mashed potatoes. Their wide variety allows me to try something different every time. I have been at different locations but this is my favorite. One host, Violet, knows me to be a regular and she is always very welcoming. Give it a try! read more

We had such a great experience at BJ's tonight! From the moment we walked in, everyone was incredibly welcoming and kind. But what really made our dinner stand out was our server, Dexter. He was exceptional--friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel cared for. He checked on us at just the right times, made sure our food came out exactly how we wanted it, and had the best attitude the entire evening.
