BJ's is right across the street from me, great beer selections and good happy hour! I like their deep dish pizza, avocado egg rolls and salads. I went there a few weeks ago on a Saturday night and tried their Prime Rib, I gotta tell you, it's probably some of the best I've had in a while, I don't know what it was but it was amazing, did not expect that at BJ's. We like coming here for happy hour and Wine Tuesday's, I mean, 50%off bottles? It doesn't get any better than that!! You can buy their canned beer Togo now! They even deliver!! We have a couple of Waittres's we like, once in a while you get ok service, it's never terrible! One of the waitresses we like said it's because Oxnards crowd It's not the most generous a far as tipping out , so they don't put too much effort into it!! Horrible service. On multiple occasions has service been bad, food was okay but some dishes didn't make it to the table and we were just given excuses as to why from the waitress. Service is a hit and miss from my experience, on another occasion we were sat at a table and never saw a waiter or waitress, after 25 minutes our party left the restaurant. I love going to BJs especially when it's a game day. There was a bit of a wait but we did get in the waitlist. The waitlist doesn't guarantee sitting right away, we did have to wait about 15 min. Our server was amazing from the beginning, very attentive and kind. We did order boneless wings and artichoke dip as appetizers. The artichoke dip wasn't as good as other times, felt they over did it a little and was a little burnt. The wings were to die for. As our meals we ordered the rib eye and chicken sandwich. And of course little sliders for the little one. Everything was great, sandwich does come with fries and ribeye comes with mashed potatoes. If you love frozen pizza, but you you want to find a place where you can have it a nice venue, say like a restaurant with tables and other people about, seek no longer. Any of the deep dish pizzas at BJ's are indistinguishable from your favorite premium frozen pizza. Well, not the premium frozen pizzas; some of those don't taste exactly like Chef Boyardee with some extra sugar and shelf time. And that's what I love! You can get these suckers (term chosen carefully) for half price on Mondays, which puts them at about twice the cost of a frozen pie, and and four dollars more than they're worth. The pizza I got wasn't up to my Vons special standard though. I think they were having an off day. So I sent that back and got the nachos. Then I wanted my pizza back. read more

OH.MY.GOD. We had dinner here last night for my daughter's birthday and it was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time. From the minute we walked up (trash can overflowing with garbage, trash strewn all over the sidewalk and the parking lot) we were thinking "what's going on here?" We were seated and it took for-everrrrr for our server to greet us. She had absolutely no smile, no "How are you folks doing?"....nothing. She just took our orders and walked away. It took a long time to get our appetizers and when she dropped them on the table, we had no silverware and no plates. We practically had to beg for water, straws, plates, silverware and napkins-two of our napkins actually had food on them when we opened them up!!! Our food took almost 45 minutes to come out and when it did-they didn't have my husband's order. It took another 10 minutes for him to finally get his dinner. I had the mahi mahi tacos and they were terrible. I had to dig around in the tortillas to see if there was even any fish in there with the salsa. My son and his girlfriend ordered pizza and they were happy with their order. With the cost of eating out increasing, it's hard to justify paying what we did for what amounts to a fairly crappy dining experience. I've tried to take in account that many dining establishments are short handed but there was no excuse for any of this. Poor management, apathetic servers, along with what tasted like microwaved food tells me I won't going back to BJ's. No thank you. read more

Worst service ever- we have been going to this location for 10+ years. This was the worst / waitress didn't check in us for 30 min after sitting. Then, we order appetizers and she comes back 15 min later to say they are unavailable, then she comes back 10 min later to say they are making them?!? We finally get beers - then one appetizers comes out. We then order, get the food now 45 min i to stay. Three dishes are stone cold. We call over manager he says sorry do you want time to redo? No! This establishment doesn't even deserve one, star. When we arrived at the restaurant it was practically empty, maybe 4 other groups of people were dining. We placed our order & it took over 40 minutes to receive three different appetizers. When the food arrived I was absolutely appalled at the lack of quality. The food doesn't even look edible. I will include photos of how terrible these entrées were. We requested that the manager come over and speak to us, we were that disappointed with our lunch. Adam (manger) listened to why I was aggravated but truly didn't seem concerned or apologetic for the horrible experience/service. When he became dismissive I told him to take a bite of everything they expected us to eat & he refused. His resolution was to remove the appetizers from our bill but he still charged us for a water & lemonade!!!!! I will NEVER return to this disgusting restaurant!! Today June 10, 2021. Very Sad truth is that this Oxnard BJ's location should be getting positive reviews. But it's the employees who must have bad management that is supporting the rude and bad service our party of 13 just experienced this early evening. If you have positive management then you would have positive waiters. It was sad that our celebration food $300 later had terrible service. Next time my choice would be to order and pick up for our family take out. I had this crazy open face burger called PIRANHA PALE ALE CHILI CHEESE ANGUS BURGER. D@mn was that good! This place is starting to grow on me! Next time? ANGUS POT ROAST SANDWICH-Tender Angus beef pot roast slices are served on a toasted garlic cheese French roll and topped with white cheddar mashed potatoes and mushroom brown gravy. This place was like thee place to have dinner/lunch with friends back when we were in H.S./early college years and I got tired of going. Okay, so we had reservations at 10 P.M. and got seated fast, the waitress took our drink order and freaking took forever to give us our drinks, even just water. Everyone at the table was getting impatient, because it was late and we were hungry and we haven't ordered our food. When we did order our food, it took even longer for us to get our damn orders...someone in our table got their order 10 minutes after we all got ours. The service last night was just so HORRIBLE, they weren't even busy like how the place usually would be - empty tables everywhere! *Food: Last night my bf and I shared the Thai Salmon: Wow, I LOVE salmon, but damn, they did not cook it right, it was too dry = OVERCOOKED the Thai salmon consists of Spicy Thai sauce, white rice, snow peas, carrots, red bell peppers and onions topped with fresh mango salsa, everything about it just didn't taste as great as I thought it would have... = DISAPPOINTED Pizza: I remember trying their pizza once and I hated it, it's too doughy for my kind of pizza. Sandwiches: I've tried a few of their sandwiches and they weren't bad at all, maybe I'll stick to sandwiches that's if when I do go back... Calamari: YUMMY! I love CALAMARI, and there's were good , the down fall was I paid $9.25 and the portion was mother freakingly SMALL! I'd rather go get calamari at Kabuki, at least their portion is decent for the price whether it's happy hour or not. Alcoholic Beverages: Their prices in drinks are not bad at all. A shot of Patron was $8-9; it's usually $10-12 in other places. My best friend and I also got the White Gummy Bear shot and it was only $6.50 and the bartender gave us more than a shot, it was like 2 shots put into a big shot glass = Awesome! Why 2 Stars? well, prices in alcohol is one star, taste of calamari [some places aren't great] is another star, service is minus one star, but pazooki adds back up the 2nd star.... The food was terrible to the point of being offensive. I ordered several dishes to qualify for a postmates discount, so I was able to base this review on three (3) strikes against their menu. I started with the tri-tip salad. This was the laziest dish I've ever had presented to me. They literally cut a head of iceberg lettuce in half, sprinkled some cheese + bacon bits, and gave me a small serving of burnt fat that I assume was supposed to be meat. It was cold, disgusting, and I didn't bother to finish. I was craving some beef, so I moved onto the sliders. It's a simple formula that should be hard to mess up: bread, beef, ketchup, and pickles. They somehow forgot to add pickles, but it didn't matter, considering the beef was over-seasoned and dry. It was essentially inedible, due to the sodium content, so I stopped after one slider. Lastly, I finished off with the crackers and cheese (or I should say their attempt at a flat bread pizza). It appeared as if they were attempting to use as few ingredients as possible. I thought it was missing chicken because it was used so conservatively. The flavor was terrible and I'm convinced this was the dish that gave me nausea after a lackluster meal. BJ's needs to seriously rethink their menu and change up their recipes. I recall their food tasting great over a decade ago, but the quality has taken a nose dive since their menu was originally reimagined some time ago. Don't waste your time going here. read more

We ate here Sunday morning around noon, it was literally empty. It took a while for the waiter to come service us and there were only 5 other tables, most of whom already had their food. It took us forever to order our drinks and then we ordered a large pizza to share. We ordered the half BJs Favorite and half Sweet Pig. The pizza was fine. The service was a bit slow, I believe it took us like 90 minutes to eat here. I didn't give even the waiter my rewards number because I didn't think he was competent enough to get me my points. The final straw was how the bathroom had no toilet seat covers or toilet paper. We went to Golf & Stuff afterwards and their restroom facility was much cleaner. I've been a loyal customer of BJs for decades and I would never come to this location ever again!!! My worst BJs experience so far and that includes when they messed up my order or bill. read more

As a rule I try to stay out of chain restaurants. BJ's and In-N-OUT are the exceptions. Love the beer and love the food. I have never had anything bad here, just things I didn't like as much as other things. The burger is great, the Ceaser is great, the pizza is great (as pizza tends to be. They accommodate kids well: my nieces have loved this place thru grade school and now one is in college. She still loves BJ's I was disappointed my last visit they are no longer selling growlers to go. As I was driving and couldn't take a beer to enjoy at home I was left wishing I could have one more... I have also had the experience of buy a gift certificate here and lost it in the Christmas madness. They were able to get the information by the time of day I bought it and cheerfully replaced it. So my new favorite addition is on the appetizer menu: Dry Rub Chicken Wings in Lemon Pepper; man these babies are deeelicious! Talk about the right way to cook a chicken wing, it's all about the crunch secondary to the flavor and these wings have it all! 10 wings for $10.50 may be a bit pricey, but if you come in during HH, it's $2 off! Plus the mini pizzas are pretty much half off-you chose from the many flavors from their regular sized pizza-great selection on flavors! Man o man, we walked in with a group of 12 and sat down. Angel was awesome got some drinks and some appetizers. Then came the issue, we ordered our food and after about an hour, we complained about the food time. Manager said he would go check and literally never came back. He jumped on the kitchen line and started to make food. We started getting our food and while my food was good, the others, not so much. Salad was wilted, the mash on another plate was cold and the soups were over salted. We stayed for the pazookies but it was not a visit we want to repeat. read more

Came here to watch the Dodger game and eat, Bj's I think all of them their food is alright. It isn't the best. Their is plenty of parking due to Covid the wait is average 30 mins, took 10 mins to sit us down. It was in a awkward area but it is alright. The waitress was super nice, I asked her if I can change seats so I can watch the game and she politely sat us somewhere else. She was very attentive, they are really big on Covid safety there, you have to wear your masks when you walk to the bathroom or anywhere in the restaurant besides your table. Everything was spaced out nicely, bathroom doors were propped open. outside dining in both areas, lots of Tv's for sports. The only thing was that the food is hit and miss. Got the pizza first time trying it and it had so much dough not enough sauce or cheese. The ranch dressing does not taste the best either. Everything else was great. read more

That being said I'm a Loyal BJ's Customer and will continue to be But I don't think I'll be coming back to this BJ's anytime so. The location was Not Clean, Outside trash cans overflowing & Bathroom was Dirty. Staff was Slow and appeared uninterested . Our waiter mumbled when speaking to us. The food was adequate but not it's normal outstanding quality. Even the Rootbeer Ribs needed more sauce. We got there this evening about 620. There's two children and three adults. It took about 10 minutes or so for the waiter to get to us for our drinks and appetizers which wasn't a bad time. It wasn't bad in the room that we were and I think there was one other table at the time that we sat down. It took about 10 minutes to get two out of for drinks. Then a few minutes later the appetizer came. 30 minutes later I went up to the front and I told them that we are still waiting for two drinks and for him to take our order. They said they would get somebody out there. Finally came out we ordered the other two drinks again and he brought them to us immediately. Then he took our order. We had one hamburger medium rare, one salmon dinner, one ahi salad and a child's corn dogs. About 7:40 I went out to the front to find out what was going on with our dinner and they said that they would look into it. We had already been there over an hour and the kids were hungry. They finally brought our dinner out and the hamburger was cold and not cooked properly, the salmon was cold but you can eat cold salmon. The salad was perfect But we still didn't have the kids meal. Finally went and got a manager and told him the problem and ordered another drink for myself. He said that he would check into it get the burger out correctly and make sure that I got my other drink. Well the Burger Came it was almost right But we were too tired and too hungry to bother with re-ordering it. I also never got my drink which the manager said that he would stay on top of. We finally just gave up got boxes to go. There was no comp for having such bad service and the food being incorrect or anything and I never got my drink. I ordered through Postmates switch everything regarding Postmates was exceptional with the exception of the price which I was happy to pay because I was just too tired to go out.. not going to ever get steaks or takeout from here. I placed a to-go order and received a text instructing me to wait outside in the designated parking and to use the link provided to 'check in'. I arrived about 5 minutes early to the designated pick-up time, parked right in front of the door, provided a description of my vehicle and checked in. "Please wait and we will be right out with your order" the app told me. I'm a patient guy, and tried real hard to not be a Karen, but after waiting 25 minutes (thats 20 minutes past the time they told me to be there), checking in an additional time, and seeing no one at all bringing the food outside to any of the other people waiting in their cars I went in to see what was up. Had someone else taken my food by accident? Was the kitchen down? An emergency? After waiting several minutes to be seen at the front desk, they directed me to a second desk near the middle of the store. Here I saw a young woman, and a man in a nicer burgundy shirt I'm assuming was a manager laughing together in some kind of deep conversation about whatever. I ask about my food, they turn around grabbed and bag and handed it to me. "There ya go", they said before turning away from me and immediately resuming their conversation. My food had been sitting there the entire time, with 2 staff members not working, as I'm getting updated instructions to just keep waiting outside. By the time I got home, my food was cold and soggy, worse still - this is the first time I ever got a burger at BJs, but it was absolutely atrocious. At this point, it was nearly 10 PM and I hadn't eaten all day, despite my ravenous hunger I could only bring myself to eat half the burger and threw the rest away in disgust. I've actually been a fan of BJ's in other locations for many years, but this was not even close to acceptable. The disgusting food that turned my stomach was enough to warrant a zero star review here, the awful service is just a bonus. read more

The worst deep dish pizza I've ever tasted! It was like eating plain bread! The crust ( can't really say it was crust) more like bread was way too thick, sauce was non visible, cheese was so minimal to taste, toppings was not sufficient! Don't order delivery. We got a RAW pizza and Rebecca from BJ's says if the cheese is melted that it should be cooked. Nope. Raw dough in the center, why else would we be calling? She said WE could bring the pizza back and pick up another but that defeats the purpose of delivery doesn't it? I called back 10 minutes later at 5:30pm to speak to the manager because in my opinion this was poorly handled by Becky who was short and condescending and paying $45 for a raw pizza is ridiculous, well Rebecca says they were busy and we can't speak to the manager until 8pm.
