I haven't been there in a while, and so I decided to revisit. Some things have changed and I don't like it, lol. They don't have steak soup anymore. With their campfire feast, many items on the menu incur an additional charge. The knife inside my napkin was dirty; there was dried food stuck on it. One of the two prime ribs came out rare rather than medium rare (we didn't ask for them to fix it because we are not that type of people; it's not a big deal to us but it WAS one of the things that did not go as expected). They don't have mud pie anymore; they said the company they buy from doesn't make them anymore. They also charge a 3% service fee for using a credit card. I used to be a loyal fan of Black Angus, and circumstances made me not go for a while, but I was hoping to start going back. With these changes, I don't think I will go back anymore. (The service was good though.) read more

Came in for a treat with my family. I wanted to leave from the beginning, the place had a lot of dust between the benches and on the ceiling. Our utensils weren't clean enough, they had food on them. We told the waiter and he just brought us new ones. After we finished and paid we walked out and they were almost closing so when we walked out we couldn't get back in. We realized we forgot our daughters jacket and tried getting back in. When I went to the door the 3 bus boys looked straight at me and I waved to catch their attention and knocked on the door and they just ignored me. After 10 minutes trying to get their attention . If it wasn't for a customer that let a server know then we wouldn't have gotten in to get my daughters jacket. read more

Went to Black Angus Montclair last week and the food was delicious. Had the 12oz New York steak with asparagus and baked potato. The bread and butter they serve is good. During lunch time on Saturday right when they opened service was fast. What I also like about Black Angus is the high backed booths and wood throughout. Will definitely go back again. read more

The service is slow, the food subpar and the ambiance blah. It had been a long long time since I'd been here and with no wow factor during the recent visit why it'll be even longer if I ever come back! The baby back ribs looked like St Louis ribs, they were fatty and lacked flavor. The Chicken sandwich was worse, it lacked seasoning and the "avocado" was not sliced avocado, it was more like an avocado aioli, yuck! The steak not much better. We liked the bread! I order food delivered. The quality was good, but they screwed up the order. I order the steak "medium rare" it came "medium well". I ordered the potato with no sour cream. It came with sour cream. Mixed with "chives" (really green onions). Impossible to separate. For their prices I expect them to get things right. read more

Everytime we visit this particular BA our experience is always great. The steak is always cooked to order, my drink glass never gets empty. My salad is always served on a chilled plate with a chilled fork. Franky and Estefani are superb in their customer service and we bypass the Ontario BA to come here. Had dinner with the family today at 530pm. The server and the food were good as usual. However when we had our dinner delivered. The person (not our server) was a younger kid with dark curly hair tried to give us our plates too quick that he spilled 3/4 of a container of au jus all over my son's Essentials pants. Knowing what au jus is I still said "isn't that oil? He said no and tried to abruptly leave. Thinking he would do the right thing and try to make it right even though I understand it was an accident, the whole thing was ignored. Unfortunate and disappointing customer service on an employee who basically permanently ruined someone's personal property as that stain will never come off. read more

I generally don't do chain restaurants anymore, but it was Veterans Day, and Husband earned his free steak, so off we went. First the positives. The kids meals are a good value, especially for the ice cream at the end (don't forget to ask for it, I feel like we wouldn't have gotten ours if we didn't), my husband ordered this moonshine lemonade, and he really loved it, very extra with the garnish and nice and strong. Their cowboy beer on tap, or whatever it was called was pretty tasty. Now for the minus, the portions were so small, we only ordered the 8oz steak, but the sides were little, and the bread was stale. My steak was cooked medium like I like it, but was somehow dry on the outside? I think it sat for too long. And as we finished up our meal, our waiter was MIA and I had to ask a passing host to find him so we could get our ice cream and check. Anyway, maybe next year, guys, and I'll remember to order an appetizer. read more

My husband and I decided to come here for last minute date night after buying a Groupon. We got there kinda late, after 9pm and they close at 10pm, they were still gracious and friendly. Our server Tristan was attentive and friendly. He took our order and our food was out in a very timely matter. We shared the Campfire Feast, appetizer was fried zucchini and they are my favorite. For Dinner we each got a 12oz steak, a ribeye and a New York strip. Both cooked well and delicious! The mac and cheese was creamy and warm, as well as the mashed potatoes.
