    Prime rib

Black Angus never disappoints. The food always hits, and every meal I've had has been consistently delicious. The prime rib is my favorite... it's high quality, flavorful, and always cooked perfectly. Not just the prime rib, but everything I've ordered has been prepared just right. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their food and getting the cook exactly right.

The food was delicious, the place felt cozy, and the company was exceptional. But one of the most important factors that made everything come together so beautifully was Estefany. People like "ESTEFANY" turn a restaurant like this into an unforgettable place you want to keep coming back again and again!!!!

I got the campfire feast for one. Great deal! And, the deal is also available on Groupon so it's an even better deal. I paid an up charge for the ribeye. But, first the meal came with an appetizer (shrimp cocktail) for me; two sides -I went with a salad and green beans, and a dessert - I went with a cheesecake with strawberry sauce. The shrimp cocktail was excellent. I'll definitely order it again - five stars. The salad was OK; You standard salad. The green beans were slightly underwhelming to me, but they were OK. I ordered my ribeye medium. Ribeye has a lot of marbling so it can handle a medium Cook and I like my outside to get us chard or seared as possible. I did not receive a medium cook ribeye. I did not receive a medium rare ribeye. I would say it was slightly under medium rare but better to be slightly undercooked than slightly overcooked so I ate it and it was still pretty good. For the price point I definitely recommend this place and I'm sure I'll be back.

The food by far exceeded my expectations. He ordered the prime rib and I ordered the filet mignon. Both were cooked perfectly (medium rare, of course.) and melted in our mouths when we ate them. Service was excellent. Our server was Franky (Francisco). He was professional, friendly, & attentive, and made some excellent recommendations. He shared information on their rewards program which is actually pretty good. The ambiance was casual and comfortable.

I have not been to a Black Angus in so long and this was my first time at this one which is located in the city of Montclair. Our server was nice and we got seated right away. I ordered an iced tea, and then came the tasty bread with butter. Yum! Don't skip off on that part. I also ordered a filet with two lobster tails and that was super filling. You get two sides with the entree and I picked a garden salad and a regular baked potato which comes with butter, sour cream, and chives. Overall, the food was tasty and I enjoyed the dinner with my friends. They liked it too!

Wow! If you feel you need to go to the gym and sit in the Sauna go sit at the bar in black Angus! FYI, bring your own Eucalyptus! Management get it together fix the HVAC RTU that serves the bar! The swamp coolers and floor blowers are not making it cooler! Kudos, to Emma, Marisa & Estefanay. These three ladies are on point. All three ladies seem to always apologize for the uncomfortable setting due to lack of management doing what they should do, fix the have yout corporate fix the AC!!! Black Angus you should be so proud to employ these three lladies that go above and beyond, as the sweat because black Angus provides an unsafe working environment for their employees!!!!

Food is always great and Aydee is a great server, we love this place. However we wanted to see a movie and in the restaurant we can't bring up the wifi although there is one it hasn't been update since Nov. 30th 2022! Come on gang! Update it so we can use our phones to look up stuff on our phones!

Black Angus is absolutely a fantastic steak house with a great price. This particular location has really attentive and kind staff, and even when I ordered the salmon, I asked for something that was closer to medium rare on the temperature internally, and they absolutely nailed it. In terms of the ambience, it's exactly what you would expect at any black Angus it's just got those cowboy vibes and it's comfortable with air-conditioning. If you're looking for a date night, you really cannot beat the campfire feast deal for two and with inflation and everything going on nowadays you get really good quality meat with good service and all the fixings.

I ordered 1 child tukey dinner ($12.99) on 11/17/25 for pick up Thanksgiving Day. I had a $5 reward coupon I wanted to redeem so ended up buying something small for thanksgiving. Very busy Thanksgiving day with lots of customers dining in as well as ordering to-go meals!

We love coming for the outstanding service Emma provides while we visit. Very attentive and makes sure our order comes out timely and accurately. The steaks are normally really good here for the price.

Our food, apps, and drinks were great. Service was okay. However, they charge a "service fee/surcharge for using a credit card". Which is illegal in California. Not only that but they charged my debit card the surcharge which is illegal in ANY state. Only a few bucks but still they should build it into the menu prices if that was the case. Suggest the owner/manager looks into the legalities of this. (We left cash tip)

Always enjoy Black Angus's Whiskey Tasting events. We tried the High West whiskey tasting event this time and it was another great night of cocktails and food. See pics for menu for the night and cocktails & dishes. I highly recommend attending a Tasting if you have a chance.

I ended up in the corner, which was a perfect spot to enjoy the atmosphere and do a little people watching. They have a great happy hour and daily specials. My server, Clint, recommended the Fidelity red blend. I'm usually a Pinot Noir drinker, but this was a great choice and paired really well with my filet and lobster tail. The steak was cooked perfectly, the lobster was excellent, and even the drawn butter was served at the right temperature. I finished with the peach tart for dessert, and it was delicious. I also met Anthony, one of the owner's sons, who was making his way around the restaurant checking on guests. Both he and Clint were friendly and attentive all evening. Unfortunately, my daughter's $47 entrée contained a metal wire bristle from a grill/cleaning brush. Thankfully, she noticed it before swallowing it, but this could have resulted in a very serious injury. To the restaurant's credit, the manager came over promptly, apologized sincerely, and handled the situation professionally. We appreciated that acknowledgment. We also chose not to make a scene or demand anything because we understand that mistakes can happen. What disappointed us was how the situation was ultimately handled. When our bill arrived, my daughter's entrée was actually charged twice. We had to point out the duplicate charge to our waiter. When he returned with the corrected bill, one of the duplicate charges had been removed, but the remaining $47 entrée--the one that contained the metal wire--was still on the bill. We were then told that my daughter's dessert had been made complimentary. While we appreciated the gesture of the complimentary dessert, it seemed to fall well short of what would have been appropriate given the circumstances. A dessert does not compare to paying for a $47 entrée that contained a dangerous foreign object. This review isn't meant to criticize the quality of the food, it was outstanding. It's about the response to a significant food safety issue. I believe most guests would expect that a meal containing a metal wire bristle would be removed from the bill without question. Instead, we left feeling disappointed that the resolution did not reflect the seriousness of what had occurred. I sincerely hope this was an isolated incident and that the restaurant reviews its food preparation and grill cleaning procedures to ensure this doesn't happen to another guest.

Gosh this will be a very difficult review to write. First…read morething is first, this is an interesting restaurant with a tradition of cutting ties. If you will venture out this way, wear an ugly tie for it to be cut. I was fortunate to witness this and yes, it was fun. Wear a tie. The restaurant is nestled in an area surround by the hill and shrubbery. Not much around the location. There's an outdoor waiting area, a small waiting area indoor, OR you can wait at the empty bar while you enjoy some beverages. I highly recommend going to be bar if the wait is long. The service was great. The waitress checked on us and made sure everything was okay. Now to the most difficult part, the food. This establishment, compared to other older steakhouse, is doing something different. They are attracting younger folks to continue this tradition. Majority of other steakhouses are not bringing in the younger crowd, and this will adversely affect them when their customers start to move on to a different life. The first thing that comes out is complimentary bread. The bread is just bread. Taste like a thick wonder bread. There's a brown slice and a white slice. The bread is very dense and it is just bread. The butter is airy and whipped, which compensated for the plain bread. I understand that the slice is traditional in the past, but gosh, it is so plain. Throw some honey in the butter or serve corn bread or some other bread. I would rather not have the bread unless if I ordered BBQ to make a sandwich. Next came the salads. The salad is your typical garden salad but with grape tomatoes and croutons. Per the waitress, the dressings were made in house, with blue cheese as their popular choice. Beans came out next. Man, think of pinto beans with Oregano juice. Gosh, it was different but utterly meh. If they have been serving this recipe for so long, I guess people like it. I ordered the "angus" ribeye, where my girlfriend ordered the cow girl steak aka T-bone. Not sure why they would gender a steak as most men would not order a cowgirl steak. The ribeye was not tough and cooked well over their famous fire grill. The T-bone was a bit tough. Majority of the poor reviews complained of the steak being plain. Well, steaks are meant to be indulged without any sauces and as it with seasoning when it's cooked. Some people enjoy this, but not all. Objectively, I can see why no sauces are offered. I understand why they have regulars and the way they do things is meant to be what I mentioned, so it should be respected. This is why I gave it a 4/5. I do think they should offer sauces on the side. Whether it's made in house or from an A1 bottle. Bottom line, some people like sauce. This is something you should experience, and something that you should be the judge of. It's an experience and it's a long standing restaurant in the city. Lastly, for godsakes, it was very warm in there. The heat was almost unbearable.
