Came in for a small bite to eat and the amazing bear claw... Then it went down Hill. I order the 1/2 Ham Sandwich with the bowl of soup. My wife order the grilled cheese sandwich with a cup soup. After about 10 minutes our waitress brings me the bowl and my wife the cup of soup. We sit there for a few minutes expecting our sandwiches to eat with our soup, after another 3 minutes we both wondered where our food was so we began to eat our soup (which was now cold) another 5-7 mins passed and still no food (for a grill cheese and half a Ham sandwich) Our food finally comes and I pointed out to the waitress that it would of been nice to get our soup and sandwich to eat together, hence why we got it. She then points out the " most of my customers want to eat the soup first " I explained to her that this was a soup/sandwich meal not a meal and it comes with a soup or salad. She then augured with me stated, " I assumed you would want it first like all my other customers "... WOW... She leaves, I look at my sandwich and it is Tuna not ham and my wife's $9.59 Grilled Cheese has one slice of cheese on it and it is not even melted all the way... I had to find the host to take my plate back and get a new sandwich...with my cold soup!! She never said anything... She did not even bring me the new sandwich, the host did!! Don't go here if you are already very hungry, in a hurry, or otherwise have somewhere to be. Also, this place isn't cheap and the added price doesn't translate into better food. Ordering for pickup is treated by the business as an afterthought. I ordered here for pickup and was sent back and forth between the receptionist and the grill until I found my order myself, on a hidden table, took it myself, and walked out. We are new to the area and decided to stop in as we were previously told the food here was perfect for breakfast. Immediately we were greeted with smiles and friendly service. Everyone was so friendly and ensured we had full drinks and good food. To top it off, there was a person dressed as a bear walking around and entertaining the kids. I'm reviewing on my meal that I had a couple months back. I heard about the chain from one of my friends who really loves it, so I was excited that one was opening up in Rancho. It took me a while to come around, but I finally got the chance to do so. The ambiance is your typical american diner restaurant, but there's a BUNCH of cute bear decor all around. The servers were nice. The wait wasn't too terrible, but by the time we got our food it was already cold. I dont know if their heat lamp was out, but it felt like it wasn't freshly made. It did also take some time to get coffee refills. I really hope that the quality has improved since then, but unfortunately that experience was definitely enough for me to not really want to come back. read more

Second visit is worse than the first. Waitress never refilled my coffee and seemed bothered when I asked for a refill. She delivered a burnt waffle and saw nothing wrong with that. We waited for service while she and her coworkers goofed around in plain view of customers. My husband ordered the turkey dinner which should be renamed to a dry salt slab. Too bad as we really had high hopes for this place. We will stick to Vegas where service is on point and food is great. read more

Yikes- first time there, last time there... All eggs from my eggs Benedict and my boyfriends eggs were overcooked and hard boiled. Asked for new eggs just for runny eggs benny and it took them 10 min to bring two poached eggs back. Food cold now... and to make it even better one of the eggs came back still a little overcooked and hard :/ Boyfriend asked for crispy hash browns, came out soft. Toast wasn't even buttered... lol! But at the end of the day, he got hash browns, pancake, bacon and eggs and it was $18 for bland, overcooked food. So disappointed! The manager was nice enough to take care of my eggs Benedict & toast, but just bad first experience and 100% won't be back. read more

My fries are burnt, my burger has cheese, and I got a piece of fish in lieu of my fourth chicken strip. I'm just going to pretend the hair that I pulled out of my mouth was my own so that I don't vomit. One of us has a sugar allergy and there was a sweet potato fry mixed into what was supposed to be french fries. I don't know how they managed to make them soggy and burnt at the same time but they achieved that feat. I do have to admit that the chicken strips were delightfully crispy- thank god- because that would have been the straw that broke the camels back. We just went here for Father's day, I called to see if they were taking reservations which they were not and completely understandable. Decent food. Prices higher than before. As a bit unorganized and less than efficient than should be given the length of time open as a business. One thing I noticed was some staff didn't have hairnets/ coverings or gloves when handling food. Not the biggest issue if consistent hand washing is habitual but I saw a few touch their noses and/or faces, wipe their hands on their pants, etc but not wash their hands before going back to handling food. It was even more strange because when cleaning up tables after customers left, they had gloves plus some workers had face masks. So be consistent and please follow food and health standards even without pandemic protocols because that is how you don't have outbreaks of any kind. There was a pretty bad backup of plates at the plate station and a lot of orders coming in but lots of not going out. Seems like a management thing. Today I came in on a Friday night about 6pm place was empty only two other tables going? Ordered the Fish and chips. They were no good, way too much batter and small amout of dry fish. So I changed my order to the advertised special displayed in the lobby. Steak and eggs & toast. So it came out a while later looked like a 4 oz piece of dried out road kill, and that's how it tasted, my server dropped it off at my table and took off before I could say anything, so he came by 5 or 6 min later and I asked him doesn't this come with bread, and he says to me oh I'll get you some Toast if you want. Like he's doing me a favor. It was supposed to come with it anyway. This place is a joke way overpriced so far the food is subpar and the service is now a mess. This place is too overhyped, came in and wasn't really impressed with the selection, decided to get the homestyle fried chicken full course meal that stated to come with a side of country gravy(it did not) it also comes with a salad or soup, two sides, and cornbread. The soup was potato soup usually when you get a potato soup you expect to get it with bacon and cheese on top, this wasn't the case...very bland, filled with more veggies than potatoes and tasted like canned soup for this being the only option I would have hoped it would be house made. The two sides I got was Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes..big mistake...Mac and cheese was served with penne pasta and the sauce tasted like cheap boxed cheese sauce...really can't it from scratch didn't even touch it. The mashed potatoes and gravy were disgusting mashed potatoes seemed to be made with some sort of cheese just winded up being mushy and disgusting the gravy was very salty and tangy it was clearly canned not house made did anyone both tasting these sides before putting them on the menu lol? When we received our food we knew it was supposed to come with corn bread and had to remind the server that it came with the meal, seemed like she didn't really care if we didn't receive everything that our meal came with the server barely came around to fill up our water cups which were almost as small as the kids cups. The only saving grace was the chicken itself very crispy and tasty and the cornbread very soft and yummy. Overall would not come back or recommend wasting your money or time coming here. First time here today. Last time here too. Waited 35 minutes to be seated. We waited because I thought it really must be good eatin for all these folks to be waiting to be seated. Once seated we waited over 30 minutes for our order to arrive and at least 10 minutes or more anytime we asked for anything extra...a straw, a lemon wedge, syrup, napkins. My food was barely warm when it finally arrived, but I was so hungry and I didnt care to wait another hour for them to show up with hot food. My son's burger was pretty small looking considering this place is suppossed to be known for large size portions. He said it was just o.k. The bear claw french toast his girlfriend ordered was layered with thick srambled egg on one side and dry as the desert...unedible. The sweet tea was ok but tasted more like sweet brown water, I traded it in for the coffee which was probably the only thing I can say was actually pretty good oitnof everything we ordered. The check never came and we waited for that for a good 15 min. At that time we were fed up with waiting and headed for the register to settle up. We figured out why all those ppl are waiting to be seated. Its not because the food is so good. Its because the service is so ultra slow that no one can get their food, service or check without their backside and limbs going numb. This is just an upscale Dennys if you ask me.
