My first time in here and I loved it! The service was good and I went right when they opened so I didn't have to wait. Unlike last time I tried to come in there was over an hour wait. I had the bang bang bubble potatoes to start with the chipotle sweet potato flautas. I LOVED the flautas I could have had ten of those for dinner. Sooooo good. Service: was greeted warmly and seated right away. It was a rainy Thursday night so luckily no wait. Our servers were super friendly and knowledgeable. One server was being trained and they both did a great job making sure we were taken care of. Food: WOW WOW WOW. 10/10. We ordered the bang bang potatoes and the sourdough bread with EVOO and they also suggested butter and strawberry jalapeño jelly. Delicious. We also ordered the Lettuce Tofu, bucatini and tortellini. The pasta plates were cleared! The only reason we didn't finish the Tofu wraps was because it's easily enough for 3 people wanting a light meal or 2 for a full meal. No skimping on the servings! Wow wow WOW. Amazing food, I love the variety of the menu. We ordered a few things just to split. The bubble potatoes which were excellent!! The cacio e Pepe asparagus (I was hesitant bc I am not a huge fan of big black pepper kernels) however it was perfect. Great mix of flavors! The spaghetti verde which was out of this world so so fresh and tasty!! For dessert we got the lemon cake which was very light but packed a lot of punch. Additionally the service was impeccable!! They are very attentive and friendly and I loved learning about the process and their dishes. I will absolutely be coming back here again! One of my favorite dining experiences this year. read more

In my opinion the Black Radish is a Top 5 Dinning experience in Tallahassee, FL. It is primarily a Vegan Restaurant yet boasts what many consider to be the best steak in the area. They serve a variety of Vegan Tapas Style small plates along with delicious carnivorous Large Plates (feeds 3). Great for any occasion. The flavors are explosive. Wow! What a creative, colorful, and delicious restaurant in Florida's beautiful capital city! We visited on a Tuesday and it was packed with locals who agree. I absolutely love the tapas style shareable concept. My daughter and I shared the eggplant dish, the potato balls, the acorn squash fritta, and a spicy creamy pasta dish. We ended it with the delicious orange olive oil cake with the vegan buttercream frosting. Chef Matt and his team make vegan food taste heavenly. Oh my goodness! I took my son and his college mates here for dinner last night and I only wish we had a Black Radish where I live. The menu has great vegetarian and vegan options and so much more. We ordered pasta dishes, the bubble potatoes, the cheese plate and two desserts. The orange olive oil cake was the best dessert I ever had. Everything was so divine and it's a perfect place to order lots of dishes to share, tapas style. So lovely. I can't remember our server's name but she was delightful. This was a fortunate surprise and a hidden gem In Tallahassee i would put it in the top 3 restaurants in the area. A true open kitchen design with very fresh ingredients used in every dish. The premade cocktails were a little off putting because they were carbonated. I recommend ordering family style because trying a little bit of everything is a must. For a table of 4 we started with The sweet potato flautas and they were the highlight of the appetizers. We also had the bubble potatoes, baked brie, and sourdough. For dinner we had the campanelle with mushrooms and the Gemlli with sausage both phenomenal. And we split the ribeye dinner for 2 which was well worth it, the steak was a quality cut and the accoutrements were delicious, the chimichurri is mouth watering on the potatoes. The orange olive oil cake is what drew me in and it was unfortunately disappointing. The cake itself was dry but that can be forgiven because of how good all the food was. Service was amazing but wish we stuck with our gut and picked a wine we enjoyed and weren't convinced to try something new. Will definitely be coming back here and trying new things off their seasonal menu. read more

Hands down the most creative restaurant in Tallahassee! The flavors Black Radish is dishing out are phenomenal. The bubble potatoes are worth the hype, but honestly everything I ate off the menu was. My partner and our friends went on Thursday evening and ate our way through a good bit of the menu. The food, the design, and the experience were truly something. My friend got the orange olive oil cake (not pictured) and that was the best dessert of all three options. If you plan on visit soon, leave room for dessert! read more

I've had good experiences here in the past but this last visit definitely didn't hit the mark. Arrived at 9pm. Restaurant was slow and was seated quickly. Was informed there would only be a late night menu which was fine since we were mainly there for drinks and appetizers. Drinks felt less strong and not as balanced as the past. Food was good. The sweet potato flautas were definitely the star. The whole time we were there we kept overhearing the staff being upset that they couldn't close early. As more people would come in we would hear "Ugh why are they coming in" "I wish we could go home" We left within the hour to avoid further animosity from the staff lol. I've worked in restauraunts and I get wanting to go home if its within an hour from close but I feel like staff could at least pretend not to be upset if there is 1hour+ until close Went to ology after for much better service and much stronger drinks! read more

I've been here twice and loved both times I was here. The bartender is so sweet and she gave me many good recommendations for the food since I was unfamiliar with the names and ingredients. Upscale, fine-dining at its finest for Tallahassee!  I ate at Black Radish with a group of vegans, vegetarians and omnivores. We all agreed that everything was wonderful - taste, presentation, service and ambiance. Items that were ranked a favorite by everyone: bubble potatoes (vegan) and handmade spinach tortelloni (vegetarian). Other items that most people liked: bucatini, fried tofu lettuce wraps, orange olive oil cake, and chocolate peanut butter icebox pie. I just love that there is finally a high-end (mostly) vegetarian restaurant in Tally! I also love that so many of their food is sourced from local, seasonal, and organic farms and businesses. My only suggestion would be to create a spinach tortelloni version for vegans. Note for out-of-towners - don't expect the same quality as an upscale restaurant in NYC or LA but this is the best that it gets in Tally! read more

What a fantastic surprise! We are omnivores, and I personally do not eat tofu (texture aversion). However, their Fried Tofu Lettuce Wrap platter was incredible. I learned that I do in fact eat tofu, it just has to be prepared particularly well. Additionally, we had the watermelon tataki, bubble potatoes, fried asparagus, and a few others. Our server was Jordan and Matt the Head Chef were both very attentive and kind. We waited more than two hours to eat dinner here after a graduation ceremony and it was well worth the wait. Everything we ordered was fantastic (bang bang bubble potatoes, tofu lettuce wraps, gemelli with mushroom bolognese, charred broccoli yum yum salad, acorn squash fritti). Even my extremely picky toddler loved the squash, and he's never eaten squash in his life. I live in Manhattan so have been to my fair share of amazing restaurants, and the food at Black Radish is just as good if not better than anything I've had in NYC. Keep up the great work (but maybe *consider* a reservation system). :-) read more

My wife and I stopped in at the Black Raddish after checking the menu out and while most dishes are geared towards vegans (like myself), they did have a chicken dish and porter steak on the menu. My wife ordered the bubble potatoes, and I ordered the Cacio e Pepe fried asparagus watermelon takai and all of the food was off-the-chain good! Met one of the owners Matthew (super nice guy) and complemented him on the menu and food. Highly recommended if you you visit Tallahassee FL anytime soon. read more

Outstanding in most every way. The location is to the rear of the building (the front is a Mexican place). Food is awesome, mostly vegetarian with some seafood and fish be meat dish. Squid pasta was killer. Carrots amazing but unevenly cooked - some soft, some almost crunchy. Great service and fairly reasonably priced. read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Tallahassee! The food here is absolutely divine, with excellent flavors and a seasonal menu. The staff there are very kind as well. While the restaurant is located off of N Monroe St, the noise level is surprisingly low in their outdoor seating area. Combined with the beautiful decoration, Black Radish is just the right mixture of urban and cozy. Their prices are a bit high for the amount of food you receive, but they source a lot of their ingredients from local farms and businesses, so I know the high cost is going to getting quality regional food. Overall, Black Radish is an absolute go-to if you are visiting Tallahassee! read more

Oh Boy, what a great choice we made picking this restaurant, from start to finish, just excellent. The servers were great, the owner Chef came over to bring a dish and he stayed on to talk a little. I have been waiting until I got to try more items on the menu at black radish before leaving a review, and I can confidently say that the food here is phenomenal. I have come for a few late night meals and dined in at regular hours and the food is always phenomenal. The outdoor seating is so well lit with string lights and their indoor decor is so sleek. I love their open layout! The food at black radish would have to be a 4.7 out of 5 for me. I have tried a handful of things that I did not love, but for the most part it has always been phenomenal. My absolute favorite are those bubble potatoes, but no surprise there. The fried potato balls are so creamy and pair so well with that paprika aioli. I got to try their new gnocchi dish last night and that is my favorite pasta dish there. The cheese is nice and pungent, the gnocchi was like eating mini pillows, just a wonderfully curated dish. I was once vegan so I have a high bar for tofu and I loved everything about those tofu lettuce wraps. I had low hopes to get full off of them, but I think pairing them with pasta and a veggie was perfect. I really enjoyed the charred broccolini! I cannot wait to go back and try more of their new dishes. To get the full experience, it is best you go with a group. Between the three of us we got three share plates and their tofu lettuce wraps and it was the perfect amount of food. For dessert we got the peanut butter icebox pie and that always blows it out of the park. It is so creamy and delicious, you would think the peanut butter may over power the other ingredients, but it is really well balanced. All in all, great restaurant with great food.
