My first time in the new building, and it looks amazing. They really did a great job in here. Menu was fun and reasonable as I remember from the old place. Was not blown away by my nachos but definitely not complaining! I ordered an Ocean State IPA as I formerly loves their beer list here. Tasted like rubber. Tried to harpoon after but that's incredibly basic. They lacked my favorite style, whaler's rise which I can get everywhere. After attempting one more pint of Tendril which was way too heavy for me, I went to Laura's where they have far more variety. I will try Blackies again in the winter and hope the beer list has improved. Service was great, wish them the best. read more

Junkyard Nachos with pulled pork all day every day! The first time I had these years ago. I was blown away - heaping bowl of nachos with a creamy melted cheese sauce that stays melted til the cows come home and loaded with pillows of sweet pulled pork. Side of salsa, guac, sour cream and jalapenos but who's counting. And really, the serving is so huge - this eats like a meal enough for 2-3 people. Came with a gf last night, the place was packed as usual but luckily the bar area still had a few empty high top tables, so we got seated immediately. We came on a mission - pulled pork nachos, everything else was optional. I settled on a passionfruit cider, sounded interesting and it was good. Tasted more like a wine which I had no issues with (Rekordelig Passionfruit Hard Cider - yum!). Service was friendly and fast. The place does get extremely packed so if you're looking for a table - be prepared to wait a bit. They do have a small patio for outdoor eating as well. They also have a large gluten free menu. Doesn't matter what night it is, it will get busy. To me, the menu prices are a bit high for a "tavern" but I suppose they can do this due to the notoriety it's gained. Buffalo chicken dip is akin to crack. It's amazing and you'll eat every last bite!! Service is top notch. Menu changes seasonally and usually has some great core options. I was sorely disappointed in the misrepresented "Whoopsizza" as it's glorified garlic bread delivered on a wooden plate the length of a ski. Odd. Underwhelmed with taste, too... But usually food is great- especially Mac & cheese variations. Ambiance is good. Plenty of free parking. Usually not crazy wait times. Decent bar menu. In conclusion, the buffalo chicken dip is reason enough to go, so give it a shot. read more

When waiting for a table, seats opened up at the bar. Went to sit there and was told they were "reserved".. that was a first. Normally a bar is first come first serve.. or standing room for drinks. Once we got seated and ordered our food was terrible. Pizza was burnt on the bottom and raw on top. We just paid and left and went to another location down the street. We arrived for our 1pm reservation, scanned the menu and proceeded to place our order. We asked about turkey sausage and bacon and was told yes turkey sausage. This was an error on the waiters end which was fine but then we asked what meat option do you have that is not pork and was told nothing. This is extremely disappointing to know they only cater to individuals who eat pork. Then the AC was leaking onto our table and we told someone who looked like the manager and he says "oh condensation" and we told him it leaked into our food he says ok we'll get you a new plate but didn't even bother to change our seat. I even waited about 3min to see if he offered and he did NOT!! I then went and asked and he just pointed to a table and said you can sit there. Last minute pick for dinner as we were driving by, we were able to be seated right away at the Pizza Bar. First time at the new location and I thought they did an amazing job on the decor and ambiance. We ordered a couple drinks and the Buffalo Chicken dip and The dip was as phenomenal as it has always been. The homemade chips make it that much better! Drinks were great and our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. We enjoyed watching the Pizza chefs prep and cook the pizzas (Which was non stop most of the time we were there), they kept their work area neat and clean and had a separate work area for the gluten free pizzas. We had the picante italiano pizza and almost as delicious as the buffalo chicken dip! ( I really love their dip) I will absolutely be back again very soon! read more

Dear baby Jesus!!! I can't get over how shitty the service was the day we went. The bartender pretended we didn't exist. I felt like a turd in a punch bowl, as the other customers at the bar looked in my direction as the bartender blew us off. They could sense the impatience. True the bar was "kinda" busy, but common courtesy dictates at least a "be there in a sec". NOPE, didn't even get that! Not for quite a while. And THEN finally when he came to us, he disappeared after saying he would be back. I think he might be on a milk carton. .The bar back did more work than the bartender. We felt invisible. We called with a last minute reservation which was accommodated. When we viewed the menu, we noticed that it had changed significantly from the previous location. It wasn't what we thought it was. We were impressed with how the restaurant took the safety protocols with COVID. Our waitress was nice and the food was enjoyable. But and this a big BUT... the music. 60-70's disco music and sitting below a speaker, the volume was LOUD and when someone increased the volume we felt we were in a club. The patrons across from us noticed the increased volume too. I asked the waitress to have it lowered. It just never happened. Someone (later found out the owner) came by to ask us how things were. We said good - except for the music. She responded and she received a request and lowered it and we responded no, it didn't. Apparently she didn't like that response and boldly said "I'm one of the owners and I have control of the volume and I lowered it.. but it's probably louder under the speaker. And she was only told once...". How many times do we have to tell you the volume is too loud? So I'm telling you again, you need to respect your guests and maybe check for yourself if the volume was lowered. This visit was okay until that interaction. Drove 45 mins to try Blackies for the first time. Heard lots of great things for Gluten Free/celiacs. Took my 2 girls. Had some issues with accommodations from a new waitress but management later made up for it which was great customer service. Can't wait to try this place again & give it another shot. We dropped in for dinner on a Wednesday night and arrived to a fully packed parking lot. We found a spot at the pizza bar - yes, a second bar facing the gorgeous pizza ovens. Service was outstanding. I tried a Carnitas Bowl - delicious. This isn't my first experience with the menu though. I received a RI Chef's Table cookbook as a gift and Blackies is featured. I have been hearing about Blackie's ever since the ladies took it over a few years ago . I had heard nothing but rave reviews . Last Thursday I finally had a visit . My cousin was visiting from England and we wanted to take her to lunch . We didn't want fine dining but we didn't want McDonalds either . I remembered a good friend always mentioning Blackie's . I hopped online and was immediately impressed with the size of their menu and the variety of dishes offered . It was for this reason I chose to bring my cousin to Blackie's . I figured there had to be something my English cousin would like . She ended up getting the steak tips and a salad . She loved both . My brother built his own burger . I assume he loved it as he pretty much inhaled it . I got the fish and chips . While not traditional New England fish and chips , Blackie's fish and chips are excellent . And I suspect they are healthier than traditional NE fish and chips . The service was very good . The restaurant and bathroom were spotless and the atmosphere for a summer afternoon was appropriate . Thanks to Blackie's and their staff for making us look good in front of our cousin . We will be going back ! read more

Definitely not your average burger and beer pub. As a Bryant alum, I often found myself at Blackie's after class or sometimes between classes. While they specialize in burgers, Blackie's offers so much more than that. The cocktail menu is fun and offers a lot of variety. I usually opt for the Blackie's Pair (pear vodka, elderflower, and citrus martini). I was especially fond of their summer menu last year, which offered a really delicious tuna poke appetizer. It had nice thick slabs of cucumber for crunch, fresh mango for a fruity flavor, avocado, and fried crispy daikon for a little something different. Here's to hoping they bring that back this summer! I was also really impressed with their shrimp pad thai salad, which was a really unexpected take on the classic Thai noodle dish. I'm not really a burger person but their other sandwiches have always been delicious. The chicken katsu sandwich was a definite standout that I hope makes a return to the menu. Entrees are equally yummy, my favorite being the brown butter baked salmon. That oven roasted root vegetable puree is to die for. Menu changes regularly and the frequency of my visits definitely fluctuates depending on what's being offered at any given time but, overall, I've always had good experiences here. read more

Sauces, salsa, cheeses, deserts, etc. Having worked there I can assure you they are quality driven and extremely conscious of the food allergen issues of their customers. Several years later, and I'm back, and they've gotten even better! Tonight I had the calamari, which, even though not super crisy, it was perfectly cooked and delicious. I could eat a gallon of their marinara sauce that comes with the calamari! I also had the OG Salad with grilled salmon, and YES. Great kale salad. A little shy with some of the ingredients, but the salad was still delicious, and the salmon was cooked to perfection. The menu has a ton of Paleo and Gluten Free options which is amazing - even more than before. I appreciate that Blackie's cares about their food and cares about the customers and the food they provide to us. Good quality ingredients, friendly, knowledgable and efficient staff and a great restaurant/bar environment. I love it here and look forward to coming here every time I come to Lincoln. read more

Update in response to owner: Masks for the employees Yes, spacing and capacity definitely NOT. The tables are not 6ft apart at all, and the restaurant had every table packed. I believe other reviews state that as well about the overly full capacity and just how packed the restaurant is. Again, writing this today the rules are a little more lenient and laxed now with Covid, but at the time, blackie's definitely was not following guidelines. The bar area is not visible from the main lobby so had we seen it initially would have probably decided something else, but again, hungry people get excited when a 30 min. bar Area wait decreases to only 5 min, so to then see the bar elbow to elbow of people, we're like okayy i guess we'll sit here cause its not like we're high risk and we are vaxxed, but still packed like sardines!? Changing our minds would have caused waiting over an hour for a table. Now for the fish talk: yes when one orders Raw Salmon sushi rolls at a Japanese restaurant for example, you sort of already know the risks of eating raw food and taking that 50/50 gamble of Hey! i might not feel so good later on, hence the warning on the bottom of every menu I've seen in my entire life stating : "Consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish or eggs may increase your risk of foodborne illness.", The difference is i ordered fish expecting it to be fully cooked. While eating it, I thought it "was" fully cooked, (again just a different type of salmon), but my GI tract clearly proved for hours later on that this wasn't the case, hence, an UNDERcooked piece of fish. I already explained why I didn't speak up in the other review. As for the other 20+ patrons who got the same thing and didn't complain of illness, well lucky them!! because I surely did from dining at Blackie's. I'm sure having to cook food at a rapid fire pace and get orders out as quickly as possible for a super busy, packed Saturday night, perhaps 1 piece (my piece) just got missed that's all. I hope in the future you show more empathy and understanding to patrons who've brought up a concern such as this and don't automatically defend your food because things like this can and do happen. read more

Went last Sunday enjoyed some delicious Apps the Crostini was awesome as was the Nacho's. My Salmon entree was over cooked and dry. The Birdie Gurdi tasted amazing but there was a hair that was not mine baked in to the cheese and my wife couldn't enjoy the other half of her sandwich. Slightly overpriced for killer concepts but average execution . Ambience decent, was clean but also had a cold kinda feel to it. Normally 3 times is a charm, but I have been here 3 times and EACH and every time was a charm. This location is just off of Rt. 7 (Douglas Pike) easy to get to with plenty of parking! There is a patio seating area, which is nice and not overcrowded. The staff, as busy as they were each time we visited, paused, smiled, made eye contact and pleasantly greeted us at the entrance. The bar and high table area is a decent size and clean, and didn't have that bar smell that some have. The dining area is dimly lit, but the TVs on the wall and the interesting colors make it "vibrant" each table has a "candle" as well. Its a table and chairs dining area, which allows for the flexibility of accommodating larger parties. There is a combination of high and low tables. As soon as we were seated, the wait staff starts their work. The quickly take and delivery drink orders. The menu is creative, which hooked me into coming here. The variety of sizable burgers with several different types of toppings can keep my attention for multiple future visits.They offer EGG...you had me at egg. For me, you know it is going to be a BURGER when they drop off a steak knife prior to bringing your burger. The appetizer options are decent as well, however, I can't seem to stray from the pulled pork nachos! They use cheese sauce on their nachos!! Sinfully good. The pulled pork has a great flavor and the corn salsa and guacamole are both top quality, in fact that seems to be the first thing to disappear from the platter before the chips. Yes, I said platter. The platter is almost as long as the width of the table. The nachos can easily be shared by 4 people, even if one in your party is ravenous and a nachos hog. (That would be me). I have tried 4 different burgers and each was perfect! Cooked as we requested, medium. Each burger was assembled with great care with perfect portion side of fries. The apple pie burger is an amazing creation. That chef should win an award...I was nervous, but it just worked and I devoured every bit of it. While gorging on the food, the staff continued to bring refills and napkins without having to be waived down. The staff, so very attentive and prompt - that keeps me coming back as well. Please know the portions are large, be prepared to share or take leftovers home. Kyle our server for our first visit and the Apple Pie Burger and Breakfast burger had us coming back for the second visit. Service and food had us coming back for the third...consistent food and service will have us coming back with friends and co-workers for a fourth visit! In addition to the numerous burgers, entrees and apps I have consumed here over the past year, I have now sampled at least 5 of the desserts (from the menu and specials listings)and this place continues to win my heart and stomach! I stopped in at Blackie's this afternoon to pick up lunch to go and I ordered the clean machine salad. I am SO disappointed with what I received. The menu read beautifully! Shredded, fresh green kale tossed in our roasted lemon vinaigrette, crunchy cucumber, quinoa, buttery avocado, roasted whole almonds, fresh chopped apple, oven roasted butternut squash, pomegranate arils, finely diced red onion. The actual product left me frustrated. For $17 I expected a bountiful salad. Instead I feel like I got scraps. There were minimal ingredients, including SIX almonds, what looked like an 1/8th of an apple, maybe 10 pieces of butternut squash... the "buttery avocado", which I'm sure drives up the price, was nowhere to be found. I'm still hungry after eating this meal. I don't think I'll be going back to Blackie's after this. read more
