Found this place nearby on thought I would stop in and try it out. It a well designed nice looking place. The service was great. I ended up getting their signature burger that has a fried green tomato on it. This was a great burger. I ordered it medium rare and it came out perfectly cooked and juicy. On their last day, we decided to see the Argentinian tall ship in the Inner Harbor and check out the National Aquarium. So no better place than Blackwall. We had a great lunch sitting outside. I was feeling comfort food so I ordered Shrimp & Grits w/Crab. Surprisingly they was not stingy with the shrimp which I appreciated. Oh it also came with andouille sausage which wasn't bad. Everything was seasoned well, the grits was nice creamy not to thick but not to runny. I wasn't a fan of the diced tomatoes but thats minor. I would definitely like to experience happy or brunch at this establishment in the near future. Everything about this place was hittin. I started with some Bourbon Walnut Manhattan cocktail that tasted delicious. Shrimp & Grits (of course) which wasn't bad. Nice size shrimp. The only thing I didn't like was them not having a substitution for the pork sausage that comes with the dish. Ain't nobody got time for swine. So y'all need some turkey or beef products as an alternative. Got the sweet chili buffalo wings which weren't bad. Very crunchy but was still cooked well if you prefer your wings fried hard (YO). The Maryland Oyster Po'boy ( w/o bacon) was something different that I didn't mind. They could have put another oyster on it, so make sure you request that. Po'boy sandwich came with fries, and man-o-man were they delicious. Perfect to be honest. The restaurant is located in the heart of downtown so I recommend you just play it safe & park in the garage across the street. You might get lucky and find parking on the same street the restaurant sits on. The staff was wonderful & kind. Always there when I looked up for something. Spent about $170.00 on this lovely experience. I surely will be coming back again & again & again because this is the kinda place where bar talk should occur. We went on a Saturday for brunch. I got the signature burger, my partner got the chicken and waffles. The signature burger was cooked perfectly and served on Ciabatta bread. Great flame broiled taste with satisfying breakfast potato/pepper and onion side dish. I recommend it if you're in the mood. 17 dollars for the burg. My partner ordered the chicken and waffles. The fried chicken was sort of bland, but juicy. The "spicy" honey drizzle was ordered on the side but had little to no heat. Partner gives it a solid reason 3.5/5. Come in! Nice rustic looking restaurant . Location is directly across the inner harbor so pretty touristy . I love how spacious and open floor of the restaurant. The staff was in full Covid guidelines and very welcoming. We were a party of 6 so they seated us upstairs. The food a 3.7/ 5 . We got a few appetizers ( fried Green tomatoes , calamari, and crab dip. Decent portions to share with 2 or 3 ppl and also a few different salads . ( capreese , Blackwell and ceaser . I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. I got so much points for that decision. She loved it and so did I. The food is a little bit more pricey than your average restaurant but when your meal comes out you'll see why. The amount of food you get is plentiful and delicious. Normally when you order seafood you spend close to $30.00 for a dish and when your meal comes out it looks like a kid's meal. Not here. Here, you get a reasonable amount of food. They have a great beer selection. You have to ask your server for the beer menu because this place specializes in wines. The bread they give you to hold you down before the appetizer comes out is tasty. Their wings are probably one of the best I've ever had. And the main course was exceptional. We had a remarkably positive experience at Blackwall Hitch for a family lunch event. Keonna was our waitress and she was one of the best I've encountered in a while - warm, engaging, thoughtful. She was encouraging and kind with my newborn and quick to offer not only a military discount on our bill, but also a complimentary dessert to our active duty service member. The service was unfortunately less than stellar. Me and a friend decided to grab a bite to eat. Though we were able to sit at the bar quickly, the service was very slow. We had to wait long periods of time for simple service and there lacked a level of attentiveness. My friend and I had to ask for water refills or condiments because no one would check in on us. To make things worse, I had to go over to staff - who were all standing in a group to ask for condiments after the food was brought it. It just really didn't seem like anyone was attentive. We come here as a big group for a company happy hour. Everything was wonderful, they made us a nice buffet of chicken skewers, bacon wrapped shrimp, shrimp and crab flatbread, capers flatbread, tuna crudo, and crab drip. They also brought raw oysters, chicken wings, cheeseburger sliders, mussels and drinks to our tables. I had a strawberry mojito. It was a refreshing and pretty drink. Other people in my group got wine, craft beer and other great drinks, like their mule looked really cool with the blueberries on top. It was a nice time, the bar area is huge so you can eat drink and mingle. If you park across the street at pier 5 lot, they validate parking so you only pay $12 or they have valet parking for 12 as well. read more

We came to Baltimore Harbor prior to playing in a soccer tournament. We ended up eating here. It was a good choice. I had the fried oyster po boy. It was really good. My wife had the crab cake sandwich. My son enjoyed chicken finger kids meal. The atmosphere is clean and relaxed with a modern semi nautical feel. Loved the nautically themed interior and the welcoming and friendly service. Flaming crab dip was creamy, filled with cheese and crab flavor and accompanied with tiny fried pita bread. We were happy to have taken our server up on his recommendation and really enjoyed the appetizer. I ordered the brick chicken as my dinner and the brussel sprouts were delicious and devoured quickly. Old bay as the seasoning to the chicken was slightly jarring since I'm so used to it accompanying seafood dishes, but the chicken was tasty, if a bit on the drier side. Cauli gratin was cheesy and rich. Husband liked his mahi tacos-the feta gave them a refreshing tang. Childrens' quesadilla and fries were of generous portion and enjoyed. 2 star food at five star prices. I was looking for a nice place for me, my wife and our two kids to have dinner after a day at the Aquarium. I saw the 4 star review on Yelp and the two dollar sign estimated cost, so we walked over to Blackwall Hitch. Neither was remotely accurate. In fact, I would reverse them: 4 dollar signs for food and 2 stars for dinning experience. The food was very expensive, and I'm saying this as someone who lives in NYC. Typically, I don't mind paying a lot if the food is good. This was definitely not that. I ordered a fried fish sandwich - I believe it was $25. My wife ordered a salad which was $18. She added on baked salmon to her salad - which added $16 to the cost of the salad. We also ordered a kids size meal of baked salmon and broccoli. While waiting for our food (we were seated outside) we were interrupted by a homeless guy asking for money. When I said sorry, no. He just stood there staring at us. I started to notice there were a lot of homeless/sketch characters walking about on the sidewalk. Management wasn't doing anything about keeping them from interrupting the dinners. He moved on to the next table, where two women and their two children were eating. Asked them for money, and then stood over them staring at them until they gave him some money. He was definitely more aggressive with them. Again, I've lived in NYC my whole life so my threshold for sketchy characters is pretty high, but this was over and above what I am used to. Finally, the food came. My fried fish sandwich was bland and greasy. I think I had a stomach ache later that day. My wife's salad had wilted and sometimes rotten leaves, but the kicker was the salmon portion. It was literally the same portion size as the kids salmon - maybe two ounces. For this they charged us an additional $16! The kids salmon portion was equally small as one would expect, but tasted good. The side of broccoli was not broccoli but actually broccolli raab, which as you know, is very different tasting from broccolli and not something you typically serve kids because of its strong bitter taste. The kids barely ate it. It was also waaaaayyyy over salted. All in all, it was not a dinning experience worth the money we spent. I recommend you avoid this place and spend your money somewhere else. read more

There are no issues with the atmosphere or service, but when I compare the two meals I have had here against the location that we frequent in Alexandria, it makes you wonder why they are even named the same. The menus differ from the more extensive selection of items found at the VA location. Even similar things like the crab dip appetizer falter here. The dip comes on fire in Alexandria, and there is a slight taste difference. The Baltimore location falls short of what it can potentially be. I enjoyed my shrimp and grits, which were similar. I came on a Sunday for the brunch buffet ($39.99) with a group of friends (4 in total). To start the decor when you walk in is great. The hostesses were welcoming and friendly. We had a reservation from opentable so we were seated right away. They had a jazz band playing and this added to a relaxed yet exciting brunch day. They have $2 mimosas for brunch. However they are premade and taste like a pure glass of OJ. So we decided to purchase a bottle of prosecco instead with a miniature carafe of OJ. Our server was great btw. Here is the downside in addition to the mimosas. The food is hit or miss. Bacon- not cooked and full of fat. Fried chicken was very good. Grits were the bomb. Seafood omelet underwhelming. Steamed shrimp overcooked. Oysters were good. Potatoes(home fries) were tasteless and cold. Beef was extremely rare and fatty. Sausage patties were yummy. Salmon... what salmon? They never refilled it. The tongs to pick up the food were adult proof. Very difficult to use. After we ate we ordered a bloody Mary. Nothing worth remembering. Overall I am glad I came. The location is prime and great for a walk on the harbor after eating. I don't think the food was worth the price paid but it wasn't aweful. Food 2.5* Service 4.5* Ambiance 5* Drinks 2.5* So my overall rating is 3.6* It's a great 1st time experience. However I don't know that I would come back. Well not for brunch. read more

Brunch was just as amazing as I imagined dinner would be. I'm not a big mimosa person but they berry mimosa was tasty. For apps, I started with the crab deviled eggs which was a surprisingly good combination. My boyfriend had the shrimp cocktail. Friends ordered crab soup but sent it back because she wasn't reading and was expecting a chowder. She switched for the fried green tomatoes. Man! They were amazing and that corn!! All entrees would great EXCEPT the mahi mahi tacos. The fish was super small for the price paid. My friend requested an extra piece of fish which they brought out but we weren't sure that it was mahi mahi. Overall, definitely recommend. Maybe just skip the tacos read more

Fantastic place. We hopped in for a bite, ordered various dishes and was excited. First of all service was amazing, friendly and knowledgeable stuff quickly guide us through the menu and ingredients there. Served swiftly, food was hot and fresh. Second thing we liked is great atmosphere and nice design of the place. We got burgers and fries, short rib and chopped Caesar salad, also ordered dessert tasting board. I happened to try this place back in May 2019 when they first opened and was pleasantly surprised by what I ate. I decided to try the mussell's, they have 3 flavors/style's to choose from. I went with the "sassy" option which had red pepper, tomato, garlic, shallot, herb butter, spicy chili broth. The broth had a very nice flavor that complimented the mussell's very well, spicy but nothing crazy in my opinion. I would definitely order those again. I also had a "caprese salad", which threw me off by the way it was served (see pic). Surprisingly, it also had really good flavor along with the olive oil, balsamic vinaigrette drizzle and the olive's added a nice touch of salt to balance out the tomato flavor. I decided to add some grilled chicken also, it just worked well together. The chesapeake flatbread was also really good, again good flavor and texture all around. For dessert I had the molten chocolate s'mores cake. It was visually satisfying to look at, my OCD was pleased at that moment as well as my taste buds. Overall a great experience, the interior restaurant boat themed decor was also nice to look at. read more
