I relocated to the central coast 3 years ago. One of the first places that I visited was 825 in orcutt. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. It was huge, the chicken was amazing the chicken went over the bread about a half inch all around. I was like wow! My friend and I ordered the same thing. We were like next time let's split the meal! The second time we went we did just that! We looked at each other and thought wow what happened! It was so much smaller. It was still great tasting but the portion sure changed! Needless to say it was downhill from there. We go to 825 because we like the ambiance we watch sports on the tv, so it's nice to chill but after this last visit we probably will not go back. We ordered off their new menu and tried the Alfredo, yes we split the plate because we had some wings first. I'd have given them a 3, the Alfredo were suppose to be Al dente and from what I understand that means semi firm, these noodles were mushy and the Alfredo sauce lacked flavor, the flavor that came through was the smoked chicken which the menu said lightly fried chicken. If it had said smoked I'd have past on it. We have been here many times and visited the other cc locations so we like the place but each visit is a disappointment and it gets worse each time! Really enjoyed Blast825! Hadn't gone there prior to covid but they really are doing a great job. They really just moved the restaurant outside. It's very clean. Menu is on table with an app. I got the carnitas. I'm a bit of a carnitas snob but I'm a total taco fan so you can't really ruin a taco for me. These were top notch. The Fireman got the Veggie pizza and just to note it will feed two hungry adults. It didn't disappoint my husband. Check in on yelp and you get free chips and dip. I'm all about that onion dip!! Overall ambiance was very laid back, casual which is nice. We are excited to try their Sunday brunch and bottomless mimosas for $25 one of these Sunday mornings. Served until 2pm. If you are looking for a casual, laid back feel with typical pub food items then this is your spot! Great beer list, wine menu and short cocktail offerings but I'm sure if you were looking for a specific cocktail the bartender would be more than happy to help you out. I haven't tried all of the food, but the food has always been in generous servings. The meat is done very well and they always give you a variety of options on how you want it cooked. Finally, the bar selection is good and a lot of people come here just for that. It can get very crowded, especially on weekend evenings, so be aware of that. I've been living in Santa Maria for the past 20+ years. I've been visiting this restaurant since before it became Blast 825-formerly Rooney's Irish Pub. Over the past few years their quality of service has continually declined, with today being the worst experience I've had to date. From the moment we walked in and sat at the bar we were treated poorly. The bartenders ignored us throughout our meal. We had to ask the bar back for our drinks. I tried to get the bartenders attention to ask about drinks we ordered that still hadn't been served and she literally ignored me when I said "excuse me." We waited a while and they ended up serving part of our order to other patrons. We had to wait for it to be remade. No one checked on us throughout the meal and we had to remind servers for everything. I can understand if the restaurant was busy but there wasn't a huge crowd and even with the Covid implications that isn't an excuse to treat paying respectful customers so poorly. If you hate your job or don't want to be there don't take it out on people trying to have a good time and enjoy a decent meal. So Theresa, I don't know what we did to upset you but a little kindness goes a long way. read more

I've been here twice and both times have been a pleasure. I enjoyed the atmosphere, food and server was attentive. I got the regular burger with a salad and my significant other got the cowboy burger with fries, both were good; we were really full and it was plenty of food. I ate some of his fries and he didn't even notice because there was plenty of them. They serve potato chips with a sour cream as complimentary appetizer. The second time I went, I had the tacos and they were amazing! I had the tri tip and fish tacos. They were both tasty but i prefer the tri tip, a little more flavor. We also had the bacon wrapped shrimp as an appetizer and it was full of flavor. There was a band playing, made good ambience for a Friday night. The bar staff are also very attentive. It closes too early (what bar closes at 9pm?), the food is decent (tri tip is the best); but the appetizers are way too expensive and are the same price as a meal, and how good the drinks are depends on the night and who is tending bar. My family and I had a horrible birthday experience. We didn't get all our drinks, had to ask multiple times, food took a while and we all got our food at different times. Salad had brown lettuce, meat in nachos wasn't cooked (because it was rushed due to them forgetting) they added extra items to our tab and even said they fixed it but it wasn't fixed. The waitress was super overwhelmed and her manager was texting on her cell phone and basically said "idk" when we asked why our food took so long. This review will unfortunately be about nothing to do with the food but rather the staff etc. On a random but regular basis we have ordered food for takeout from 825 Blast Brewery since they opened and always have had pleasant interactions both with the food and the experience. That was not the case here. Called to place a takeout order and after a brief pause the staff answering said, in a way too flippant and abrupt way, they don't take phone orders (although we have ordered over the phone countless times) and we had to go into the restaurant to order. When I asked whether she was serious she giggled and said yep. That was that. She said bye and hung up. What a disappointment! The management at this establishment is very immature. We had only two complaints, one being that the steak was VERY over well done and the second that we were being served cold food. His response was that we had a party that was TOO LARGE and that the kitchen couldn't handle our table of less than 10 people. If you confirm a reservation and then proceed to flip any wrong situation on your customers, obviously your customers are NOT your priority. Tre, the management shoe does not fit your foot. However!
