Ate here two nights in a row. Sat at the bar both times. First night ordered the rib-eye. It really sucks when this steak was better than Mastro's. Cooked perfectly. Maybe a little too much parsley or whatever was sprinkled on it, but great flavor. Service was great. Got the "mini" cookie sundae. Not mini. Could be shared. Hot chocolate chip cookie. Very good. This place was the only place in town that made a great Old Fashion. Bartenders know their stuff. Big rock and good cherry. Came back and got the Cowboy burger. Very good. Very filling. Cooked just right. Different bartender. Same quality drink. Atmosphere was lively. People seem friendly here. Customers and staff. Next time I'm in Orcutt, I'd definitely come back. Oh yeah. We came in for dinner and it took a really long time to be greeted by the hostess. The restaurant wasn't too busy, it was a Tuesday afternoon. Once seated it took a really long time to be helped. Our server was quite rude and barely acknowledged us. When he finally arrived with our drinks he slammed them on the table and didn't say a word to us. Honest review: As a regular who would frequent this establishment weekly, I have become disappointed over recent months. Staff is unenthusiastic, no recognition for locals and cleanliness has diminished. Lastly on Mother's Day, my husband and I tried to have a late lunch. We quickly learned they were not selling food and only offering a mediocre at best $50 per person brunch. We will be giving this place a hard pass for awhile till they reorganize their priorities. Love the change from Rooneys to Blast 825. Don't expect it to look like any Blast 825 Brewery though. The inside and out still looks exactly like the old Irish pub which is kind of confusing at first, but ask around and you'll find out that the old owners still are partners with the new business so it's this strange mash up of the Irish pub atmosphere with the Blast 825 Brewery menu. Which, is much much better than the menu when it was Rooney's. They have great salads and sandwiches and burgers. I'm a vegetarian and they have a great homemade vegan patty made from grains and veggies. You can sub that on any burger they have! They also have great shareable apps including an awesome pretzel, nachos, chicken wings and coconut shrimp. You can also get little sliders and mix and match with a few different options. They also have a full bar and good beers on draft... including Jameson Irish whiskey on draft.... remnants from the old Irish pub vibe. They also have a great Sunday brunch which you can add the option of bottomless mimosas or bloody Mary's! Yum!! read more

I am really happy we finally have a place like this in the SM area! The food is really good and the pizza is a must! The pizza has great texture and delicious. This is from someone who has tried THOUSANDS of pizza places. The service is always pretty good and they are super accommodating. They always check up on you and make sure you are happy with your food. I can't really think of anything I don't like about Blast. Its really tough to beat. 10/10 I highly recommend this place! read more

Awesome food! A lot of reviews here talking about the bad service. Either they got rid of the problem or we've been lucky but both times we've been there the service has been stellar! (Great job Jasmine!!) The burgers are really outstanding. Nice smokey flavor, same with the french dip. Use to be good... is how it should be known. When Rooney's (now Blast 805) first opened it was great. We went often & would take out of town family & friends. I'd be ashamed to do that now. The service years ago was hit & miss. Now it's just miss. The food use to be great , now it's not. My husband was thrilled to see the Shepard's Pie was still on the menu. It looked like the original, but it didn't taste like it. Sadly they used cocktail -pickled onions. Why??? He picked them out & ate around them. I had the Beef Dip . It was okay , not bad , but for the price. It should be better than Arby's. Our waitress was okay, sadly she was in a hurry to get back to hanging out w/ the other waitresses beside the bar. So many things to talk about, where to begin? 1.) The hours on the website are different from the hours on the phone number that you can call. Also turns out that they open at a different time than both the website and phone state. 2.) We went for what was advertised as the brunch menu but when we got there you had to purchase the buffet unless you wanted to order lunch. 3.) We asked for details on the bottomless mimosa/ Bloody Mary/ bloody beer deal and the server explained that the drinks were interchangeable. The bartender then said that we could not do that and had to stay with Bloody Mary's. After complaining we were finally able to change to the mimosas that we originally wanted. 4.) The servers talk trash about the customers within earshot of other customers. In conclusion there is no reason I will be coming back here, or recommending it to anybody else. This restaurant is poorly managed and the customer service lacking to say the least. I will gladly drive to AG to have a much better experience dinning out for football games. My familys new favorate place! Fish & Chips are delicious - light and fluffy batter and not greasy. Local burger is the best burger in town and the Lobster Mac & Cheese is to die for! This is the first time we have been to Blast 825 Brew since they made the switch from Rooney's Irish Pub. We went on a Tuesday night and the place was pretty busy for a weekday. As others have noted there are a lot of TV's so you can watch your favorite game or music videos. Overall, I would give Blast a rating of 3.5 with the food getting a 4+. But the service, as others have mentioned was not that great. It took over 10 minutes to have beers delivered to our table. To be fair on this night the computer system had crashed and that slowed the service down, but that was only part of the problem. Our server was nice but not on point and did not remember our table number, so our order went to the wrong table initially. The food was pretty good, we ordered onion rings and the Pesto Chicken Pizza. The onion rings were the best I have had in years. The pizza was very tasty and well cooked. Note, the crusts are very thin and the pies pretty small so be prepared. My only complaint with the pie was there was too much oil on it, they should have drizzled a bit less oil. I will go back and try other menu items besides pizza. read more

Please learn what vegan means. When I ask a question like, "Are the veggie burgers vegan?" Maybe know the answer. Maybe know that the burgers come standard with thousand island dressing and warn a person because that obviously contains dairy. Maybe inform the kitchen that this batch of sweet potato fries should NOT be sprinkled with cheese. Because nothing on the menu indicated that there was cheese on sweet potato fries, so how would I know to ask? I'm not bashing at Blast for not having options, I just wish the menu were more candid about what does and does not contain animal products so it doesn't have to be "a thing." That's so embarrassing for me as a diner. I hated having to return the bottom bun to the kitchen because I can't have thousand island dressing. But it didn't say it was there on the menu. Please learn what vegan means. I know I'm not the only one in town. The only reason I ever go out to eat is because social situations I despise force me to. It's the worst to eat out anywhere. We've dined at blast brewery several times and each time we have a wonderful experience. Our most recent visit we let the waitress know that we had driven a long distance just for the doughboy pretzel that my husband loves. She informed the manager who came over and gave us a complementary coupon for another pretzel next time we visit. So nice! The service has always been good and the drinks are tasty. We usually sit away from the central bar area so it's never been really loud except during the last minute of the Warriors game last week! We should note that they have been closed Monday through Wednesday for remodeling opening late afternoon on Thursdays but soon the remodel will be done. We are looking forward to sitting out on the remodeled patio and enjoying their new pizza oven. Blast brewery is a great place for food, drinks and friends--and we don't even drink beer! read more

I had an amazing time at the grand opening! The owner, his family were gracious and hospitable. Molly Ringwald Project was awesome! I brought a friend another day. We enjoyed the patio, the beer, and the best artichoke with delicious seasoning between almost every layer of leaves. Another time, I brought a different friend and we were in love with the service and artichoke appetizer. Tonight the service, the manager, the pizza guys were friendly and gracious. The artichoke was undercooked. The server took it back. Returned with a fully cooked artichoke, but no delicious seasoning stuffed between the leaves. The manager, Ashley, gave me coupons. On Wednesday night 11/24/21, I was there because of the karaoke special before the thanksgiving. I am a big fan to super awesome DJ Ashley. The kitchen was closed after 9 pm. I requested a self service wine card from waitress Lindsey. I was having fun went to the wine wall for wine tasting all night. Then at the end of the night I went to the bar to pay my bill. A mean male bartender was not nice, he seems like not happy I handed him the self service card. His attitude was showing me why I bother him. (He was smart, his name was not print on my receipt, he is tall, he wore all black outfit including the baseball cap). Anyway he was punishing me to bother him and charged me 20% tips automatically. This is not right. I am not a party of 8 or up. There is no service to me but I want to tip my waitress Lindsey who trusted me and issued me a self service wine tasting card. Folks, better check your bill before get out the door. You can't trust a sneaky bartender like that. I could just walk away not pay that card but I got punished by being honest to paid my bill that night. 100% unhappy and unsatisfied at 825 Blast that night. I am a good customer, look how much I spent on my bill. I come out to enjoy and feel happy but this bartender ruin my night. Manager should discuss with this bartender behavior. read more
