Blast & Brew was our dinner for the night which is close to the Paso Christmas lights downtown! Food was decent, we also tried their pour and drink bar area which was a fun experience. Their brussel sprouts was okay and sweet potato was also decent. Our dinner was okay, nothing that really stood out to us but it definitely filled us up!

This has been a go to place in Paso as my daughter worked there. The server was very friendly. We come here now and then. Pizza is great. I like the Philly Cheesesteak and burgers are all good go to's. Salads are good as well. The pretzel app is yummy within a good sidekick mustard. The beer wall is the attraction catcher in the local joint! Enjoy

Second time, stopping at this place on our way to Pismo. My kids love their pizza. The PB&J pizza and the cheese pizza has never disappointed unfortunately this time they had no chicken tenders which was disappointing. Other than that it's a great atmosphere service is great. The food is great.

On our way to Sonoma/Napa Valley, we spent the night in Paso Robles and made sure to go back to Blast & Brew. We were here over 4 years ago. Of course I remember hanging out here to watch the Dodgers clinch the World Series back in 2020!!! Still the same great comfort food as we remember. We split a Blast & Bleu burger in a toasted brioche with sweet potato fries, which was fantastic. We loved the crispy onion straws in it and the aioli on the side. We also shared an order of Brussels Sprouts with balsamic glaze, garlic and parm. Yumm!

A solid 4, 26 beers on tap, another 8 wine - all charged by the ounce, very cool! Ever wish you wanted another sip or two to go with a sandwich- just pour! Especially if want a taste test, or a full glass. ice cold glasses at either end of the tap line, convenience. The food was above average, we did a second order of wings, so good. The bacon wrapped shrimp, delicious! Looking for appetizers or meal? Service was helpful, and attentive, great concept, prices are reasonable ( for the area). Clean and comfortable inside, also outside seats. Enjoy!

Made a pit stop in Paso Robles and stumbled upon Blast & Brew. We were looking for the drink menu and then noticed the beer wall. We were so amazed to learn about the concept of self serving beer from the tap. It was such a fun experience tasting the different beers and a few select wines they had. We also ordered a pretzel and thought it was delicious. Apparently they are made fresh! We had a great time here and would definitely return if we are ever driving by or in the area!

We had an amazing experience. Very nice clean and relaxing atmosphere. The food was fresh and yummy, no complaints. We absolutely were like wow at the serve yourself beer and wine section, pretty cool, first time experiencing this... Service was awesome, always making sure we were taken care of. We will be back and we Recommend to try it.

A fun stop in the downtown area for some PYOP pour your own pints. A great way to taste various beers, ciders and wines. Full glass or tastings whatever you're in the mood for there's great options. Your server will give you a card to scan for pours. Cold glasses are located in the fridge next to the taps, just help yourself and get to pouring. Lots of screens around to watch the game. Low and high top tables with large windows to open up the space. Needing some absorption, our table shared some sliders and taters. Great service and good food! The traditional menu was much needed to balance our evening before the next stop. Food was hot and fresh. Would definitely return!

Okay mixed feelings here. It is your classic and small chain restaurant that has a nice beer selection and bar food. What I liked, and my mostly IPA beer drinking husband, was the self-pour tap room wall. They give you a small plastic card that registers how much you pour per ounce, per glass. They say they have beer and wine; trust me, I'm a wine drinker, they have a very narrow 4 or 5 selections of wines. Nothing you'd want to drink. I became a Beer Drinker that night! What is really cool; As you are working the tap you can see the price per ounce of each beer or wine, as you fill it up to your desired level you will see the total price of your pour! Sorta like filling up your gas tank. You will know exactly what you're paying for the amount of beer or wine you put in your glass. My husband ordered the tri-tip sandwich and he loved it. His fries were excellent as well. My grilled chicken sandwich not so much. I bit into the sandwich, it was grilled to bits. It tasted almost like I guess what sawdust would taste. I felt really badly because the waiter was just wonderful. Really couldn't say enough about his friendly greeting trying to serve us. In fact, I wasn't going to say anything, but my husband mentioned it to the waiter. He offered to replace the sandwich. I was sort of done and full. The onion rings were good, not super, but good. Our wonderful waiter brought the bill and comped us my entire meal. I told him no, but he said yes. Of course I made up some of the difference in his tip. Bottom line; I'll come back. Our waiter did say they're mostly a pizza place. My husband will order his Tri tip and I will share my pizza with him. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture of the tap wall. I will next time. I'll be back!

I went in planning to order the $11.95 cheeseburger combo, but I swerved and got the gourmet western burger combo for $14.49 instead. Excellent decision. It's a small place, not fancy, but it felt friendly and relaxed, the kind of place that doesn't try too hard and knows what it is. Here are the details... *Service: everyone was very friendly. The guy at the front was genuinely nice, but he was pretty confused and confusing when I asked about the daily specials and pricing. He tried to explain it, but it made understanding what was what harder than it should have been. Nothing negative intention-wise at all, just a little chaotic and unclear. *Food: I ordered the burger medium rare, no cheese. It came out medium well with cheese and a very small piece of pineapple. Not exactly what I ordered, but it still tasted good. It had plenty of condiments, lettuce, tomato, a thin slice of ham, and mayonnaise. Flavor-wise it was solid, just not what I asked for. The fries were excellent. Crispy, fresh, and clearly made from real potatoes. They slice whole potatoes in-house with a slicing machine and turn them straight into fries, which I thought was really cool. They also had some kind of seasoning on them that made them even better. They have a lot of good burger options, plus chicken sandwiches, salads, and chicken strips. I liked that there was variety beyond just burgers. They also do a daily special burger for $10.99, combo meals are $13.99, and you can sub onion rings for fries for $0.99, which felt fair. *Ambiance: it's pretty clean, open, and small, about ten tables inside. It felt comfortable and simple. There are a few tables out front and a picnic table under a big tree, which is a nice idea, but it's right off the main street so it's not super peaceful. *Value: it felt like a pretty good value. The pricing made sense for what you get, especially with the daily specials and combo options. Nothing felt overpriced. *Overall: this was a solid but not standout experience. Friendly people, great fries, good burger flavor, but the order accuracy and confusing explanation of specials held it back. I give it 3 out of 5 stars. It's a decent stop if you're in the area and want something casual and quick. I added a bunch of pictures to help you get a feel.

The town was hosting live music at the plaza across the street so we sat outside facing the plaza. It was a great way to enjoy our meal! The place was pretty packed because of the World Cup going on (Mexico vs Korea) so I understand why our server was a bit slow. She was handling tables inside and outside but keep in mind when it gets busy you may wait a bit longer for things. I ordered "The Steak" which is a hangar steak with a compound butter on top and Brussels sprouts on the side, I subbed potatoes for coleslaw. The steak was cooked nicely and had a great crust on the outside, very flavorful with just the right amount of saltiness. The Brussels were some of the best I've had even though they were so simple. I ate every last one! The slaw was ok but not a ton of flavor, it was pretty light on the sauce. We also got an order of bacon wrapped jalapeños with cilantro ranch. They were so good! We destroyed them in seconds while burning our tongues on the lava-like cheese. Worth it!

November 2025 Since…read moreI gave such a stellar review of the Bacon Crusted Burger at Street Side Ale House, I must update the comments since people do go to restaurants based on other's reviews. And I am so embarrassed to have recommended this restaurant to dozens of people. We raved to our friends about this place and this burger in particular. So, when we traveled with them to Paso Robles this week, we took them there on Thursday night. We passed on having the Wagyu 8 oz. burger and fries at In Bloom (Michelin listed) the night before in anticipation of this burger. Service was abysmal. We sat for quite some time with no service. My wife went in and asked where our server was? Finally, a woman showed up and said our waiter would be with us shortly. Sometime later, a friendly waiter arrived. He was obviously new, under-trained, and spread too thin. He was very personable, but our drinks sat on the bar for a long time and my wife had to go in and ask if she could take then. "No, the waiter will bring them out." Meanwhile, our friends were sipping on their drinks. We got our appetizers and then ordered our meals. The food came quickly, maybe too quickly, and I noticed no egg yolk oozing out (it was halved for us in the kitchen) and the burger overall was much thinner than the last time and the arugula was so wet under the patty. So, we ate a couple bites of it and it just did not taste right. I opened it up to find a baked or boiled grey patty with no crispy bacon wrapping. The bacon was soft, I mean boiled soft and was a small lump on top of the burger patty, not even close to crispy. More like a damp towel. The avocado was sliced but not spread out, so stuck on the left side. The egg was hard cooked with a solid yolk. No pepper to be found. I showed the waiter who was stunned. He thought we were kidding. The manger came out, looked at it, asked what we wanted to do. I was a bit surprised given the wreck that this burger was and said I don't know, what do you want to do? He said the chef wasn't there but took the plate back to the kitchen. He came back and said the chef (wait, he wasn't there) was surprised and said it was not right. The chef (if he was there) should have headed straight out to us and apologized. So, the manager took the burger off the bill but left the same horrible burger ($22) on our friend's bill. I should not have to tell a manager how to fix such a mess and disaster of a meal and service. I hope they fix their kitchen, whoever is checking food at the pass, and the service or they will be another casualty to the restaurant business in Paso. Sorry I had to write this as I rarely post negative reviews in order to not hurt a business and their employees.

I want them to do well...but...they have a few good things...and a few not-so-good that could be improved. I'll try to be constructive. The Good: ========= * Breakfasts: anything/all, large portions, and very good. * Burger/fries: solid. Whether its the lunch/dinner version, or the breakfast one, it's good. * Anything off the smoker: they know what they're doing. * Shrimp Cocktail: wow, the sauce, wow. The Not-so-good: =============== * Suffering after Marty, the host/manager left. He had a wonderful personality, and everyone loved him. Just not the same vibe, and frankly, it was a sucker punch to Spirit. * The menu is boring for lunch and dinner. Bring in some mexican, italian, persian, chinese -- something! It's just too Americana. Step it up. Mike, owner, please be more open to change.
