Much of my desire to finally try Blaze, came after Project Pie sold out to Pieology. I loved Project Pie and if it still existed, I would like it slightly more than Blaze. However, Blaze has seems to be a decent alternative. The pros: -So many pizza sauce options (red, spicy red, white, pesto, etc) -So many interesting toppings (whole roasted garlic cloves, sauteed onion, whole meatballs, kalamata olives, etc) -Great decor w/lots of nice seating options from half booths to cool communal high top tables -Natural-sugar sodas and numerous lemonades -Prices are great, $8 and change for a build-your-own I really don't have any cons... The pizza tasted pretty good...though keep in mind, it's like more of a crispy flat bread than a traditional "pizza." I really liked it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. I wish they had better, aka more central, San Diego locations. read more

Yeah I am a dork and just wanted to say that weird... none the less this pizza joint is like Pieology if you haven't been here... if you haven't been to either one... think subway or chipotle for pizza... I find this place to be a bit of a conundrum for me though. Some of their stuff is excellent toppings wise and some of it, well lets just say I was less than impressed. However the staff is friendly, the process clear and easily completed. The ingredients I believe was fresh as well for the most part. For example, I absolutely loved the sausage as they break up meatballs by hand and spread it around your pie. The crust has a sauce ring in it! They have a lot of meat options that make me salivate thinking about wanting to eat them. However not everything is quite as tasty as you would hope. Something about the bacon here just was a major turn off and it tastes a lil bit funny. The pepperoni is very oily (fatty) as well. The cilantro made things really weird compared to what it normally tastes like. But the crust here is outstanding! Drinks are self service for the most part. The tables don't provide a lot of room to squeeze through to sit down on the long bench, so the bigger folks should sit in the chairs. Bathrooms are down the hall in the far back of the restaurant and seemed to be acceptable. Overall it's an average place to eat, nothing super special or worth making a special trip here for, but if for some reason you do end up here, it should leave you sated. read more

My girlfriend and I came to eat here and we loved it here. The service was amazing, the food was great, the atmosphere was there, it was just a great experience all around. The staff was so polite to us when we were picking our toppings and made sure we were getting the right amount. When we went to pay, the cashier, Emily, was so nice to us. She was funny and she made sure we were satisfied with how our food came out. She was so nice and we could tell everybody there was having a great time there. It was so packed and we were surprised that the staff was holding up and not stopping during all the stress. First time at a blaze. For fast pizza it's really good. The crust is actually cooked all the way through and crispy throughout. Topping selection is very wide and everything seems fresh and clean. Line service is a lil slow but staff seems happy and nice. Pizza comes out fairly quickly and not greasy at all. Such a good option at a great price when everyone has different tastes and preferences- win win! read more

This place is either a hit or a miss. Lately employees are in a bad mood and they have an attitude. Sure price is good compared to what you get since you can have all the toppings you want. While the pizza making seems faster than Pizza Press, getting the actual pizza takes longer. The metal pans the pizza is served on burnt my fingers. The customize your own pizza is a dollar cheaper than Pizza Press but they do not offer a Chapman Discount. Lastly, both my and my co-worker's pizzas turned out soggy. Thankful to have been able to take part of the $3.14 Pi Day special with a build your own pizza. Not sure, but I think this was the only time I had ever been to Blaze. It was really delicious. Of course, mine was mostly greek ingredients! Anyhow, it was delicious. Thankful to have had the opportunity and to be treated by a very dear sweet friend! Lucky the wait wasn't too long when we arrived. I don't have any of the pictures, but its set up is cafeteria style, you choose the dough you want, then you choose all the different toppings you want. The servers are really helpful and quick. You can even ask for double of the topping if you want more. The wait wasn't long after our orders were put in, and my greek style pizza was quite yummy and healthy! The name of this place really cracks me up, but only because I only found out about it at the time when MJ became legal in California. If the company timed their naming to that, they are genius because they're just sending a little subconscious message to people with munchies. ON TO THE FOOD: It is really good!! you would expect it to take a while because they make the pizza right there in front of you, but it surprisingly is pretty quick. Mind you I've never been to Blaze before, I usually go to Pieology or Pizza Press (right across the street). We entered, they were kind enough to ask if we've been there before/explain how it worked. Everyone on the food line was kind and pleasant. Our order was a build your own pizza and an entree cesar salad.Last stop is the cashier, we noticed the salad was really flat, maybe about 20-ish pieces of spinach. I asked the cashier if we could please get more salad and you would have thought the spinach was coming out of her paycheck. She looked at us all and said "uhh yeah" came back with more salad completely annoyed. My wife asked her "do you guys have angry orchard" (we saw a few photos on your yelp page with angry orchard, which is why we asked). She proceeded to roll her eyes and say "uhh NO". At that point prior to surrendering our card for payment, we should have just walked out, but we didn't. We were all completely turned off by her unnecessary attitude by that point. My wife made a comment "well i'm not coming back here again". So we pay, grab our food, sit down and the cashier is GLARING at us from across the room. She was talking to her coworker then they would both proceed to stare. Making for a super uncomfortable experience. I'm not an expert when it comes to customer service, but I don't think we should have been treated like that simply for asking for more salad. I wish I would have asked for a copy of the receipt so I was able to catch the girls name. She had a black nose ring and a small tattoo behind her ear. I've been at this location many time and the service is always the best here. It's located in a beautiful Old Towne Orange. Parking is a bit tough but not hard. It has its own table outside and the view Old Towne circle is spectacular white enjoying freshly made pizza under 5 minutes. I have it with pesto sauce and on the crush and it really delicious. They advertise curbside pickup, but when you call the phone number & press 9 as prompted to let them know you are there, it goes to a full mailbox. If you are persistent & try to talk to a person at the location they do not answer the phone. After trying to reach them for 5 minutes I had to go inside to get order (avoiding this due to Covid 19) & was given cold s'mores. Who eats a cold s'more??? Had to ask them to warm it up & it was barely melty. Took it home & put it in the microwave to make it gooey. Very underwhelming customer service. Blaze pizza is delicious, but vegans and vegetarians be warned-- the likelihood of cross-contamination of meat and veggies is huge. I ordered a vegan pizza and the guy made a second pizza at the same time (someone had placed an online order). The other pizza had meat, and this guy used his gloved hands to grab toppings for both pizzas. He of course grabbed the pepperoni before heading down to the vegetables, and by the time I noticed he was going into the veg for my pizza, he had already gotten a handful of the onions. So one can be certain that the veg has been touched by meat. Now for a lot of people, this isn't a big deal. But I know lots of non-meat eaters would be skeeved out. I was. The guy making my pizza was kind and informed me that this was the process that Blaze always uses. I appreciate his efforts to make me comfortable (swapping gloves, offering to remake the pizza...which is kind but will have the same issue with meat-contaminated toppings). read more

While I'm not a fan of these more established shops and restaurants making their way to the Orange Circle, I am a fan of their pizza. (I'm not even sure if Blaze is a chain/franchised brand, but their restaurant makes it seem so) Bonus points for the orange color in their logo and restaurant belnding in perfectly with the city of Orange. The restaurant has a great clean atmosphere. The ordering process can be a bit weird, since they ask what you'd like, then ask your name, and write your name on a piece of paper, then pass it off to another worker, then halfway through it's passed on to another worker, then we move on to the cashier to complete the order. Nothing too weird, I just thought it was an interesting process. The toppings they have are incredible. Clean, presentable, abundant, and a wide variety. I'm big on presentation and cleanliness, so I keep a close eye on whether meats are touching veggies, or sauces are mixed together, etc. And so far, none of that at Blaze Pizza. The fast fired process is the best. It gives a much better, thin and crispy flavor and texture to the pizza. They also have a good assortment of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. They have several craft sodas and great fruit infused sugary drinks. Delicious! The prickly pear agua fresca was awesome. Overall, a great addition to the Orange Circle. I just hope they don't build a second one across the street as they did with Starbucks... read more

They Even do a well done crust for that crispy bite (if requested). Prices are good too and you see them putting everything on as opposed to ordering delivery. We were happy with the food and service. We were lucky and arrived at the perfect time. The employees were able to take their time explaining how ordering works to us 3 newbies! Once we paid and sat down we watched as people kept coming in and quickly filled dining area. The manager was very friendly and came out several times to make sure we were pleased with our meals. Yo my food was bomb as hell but let me tell you the night workers today on Wednesday (June/10/2020) had major attitude, were rude, and had terrible service. First off they told us as we walked in that we had to have masks on but there were other people there clearly without masks Second, they were in the back talking to each other not attending to the customers Then when I asked for extra pepperoni they denied me the more bomb a** pepperoni because "they can't go back down the line" but no other blaze pizza has ever done this. Kinda stupid G Btw the girl with blonde hair brown skin color, obviously Mexican also started an argument with my girlfriend outside as they were closing for no reason, she also kicked out people from the location as she was closing super rudely and kept mad dogging people. I don't know man, that attitude and picking fights with people is gonna get her in trouble one day ‍ But noticing the reviews I can tell this is a trend with the same closing individuals. This one of the biggest Blaze Pizza's in Orange County with a long pizza assembly line and huge dining room. This is one of my favorite combinations: Start with white cream sauce topped with all of the cheeses, salami, Applewood bacon, chopped garlic, roasted garlic, oregano, salt, and arugula. The creamy cheeses work well with the salty bacon and cured salami. The roasted and chopped garlic adds a slight sweetness and the arugula adds a bitter greenness for a perfectly balanced pizza. Rating: 5/5 Blaze Pizza also has a selection of freshly made, pre-packed salads. Antipasto Salad with House Vinaigrette is topped with mozzarella, bacon, chicken, red onion, roasted red bell peppers, and artichoke hearts. From start to finish this place is first class. I was very impressed by the staffs willingness to answer my brothers questions regarding the ingredients (he's trying to eliminate gluten and soy from his diet). They even brought out the bag of vegan cheese they use for the vegetarian pizza to assure him that it met his dietary requirements. Everyone was friendly and courteous, and the food was amazing. The traditional red sauce has simple flavors but its done well. The thin crust is crunchy on the outside and just the right amount of chew on the inside. Toppings are placed with intention and provide good coverage to the surface of the pizza; no skimping on the pepperoni here! I got my pizza in under 10 minutes and the refills on soft drinks are free. The decor is urban with a bit of an industrial touch. It fits perfectly in the orange circle since it seems that everyone is going for that hipster hangout look. This location is bigger than other blaze locations and the seating arrangements make room for a decent amount of people to eat in. I recommend Blaze if you're in the area and you're looking for a quick bite to eat. The prices are reasonable; I think I paid under $10 for my pizza and drink. read more

I came in last night to order a pizza and the young man (Bryan) was so helpful with me. he explained the menu to me since I had never been there before, and helped me with my pizza down the whole line. I was sharing a pizza with my friend and he noticed that I had asked her if she likes black olives; to which she responded no. Worst service EVER! First, I wasn't able to apply my reward to my phone order so when I walked in I asked one of the employees to help me, but he wasn't able to. No problem, I can just scan it at the front. SO, then we get to the person making the pizza and I say hello and tell her how surprised I am that it wasn't very busy...no response. I can't really understand what she is saying but I know the routine so I tell her I wanted more pepperoni so she added two more pieces. We go over to the vegetable station and I ask for extra mushrooms, I get the regular amount. When I ask for more she throws a couple more pieces on. This happened with the artichoke and the red peppers, she tossed two more pieces on the pizza. I was shocked that there was no communication and that she was so rude about it. I get to the cashier and ask him if she is new and he says no. I said I was trying to speak with her but she wouldn't answer. I said does she speak English and he said no. I ask what language does she speak and he wouldn't answer me. I asked him again because I though he couldn't hear me but then again he wouldn't answer me but I knew he heard me. I told him I speak Spanish but didn't want to assume she also spoke Spanish. He then told me I was antagonizing him. I just can not understand what has happened to customer service.
