However the customer service is horrible, the women working had horrible attitudes and were barely listening to me while I was trying to place my order. Finally, a place where I can successfully build a pizza that personifies schizophrenia at the affordable price of $8. As others have said, this is the "Chipotle" of pizza joints. The only difference to me is that Blaze is actually GOOD! I am so indecisive that it's off-putting. Blaze is okay with this. In fact, I don't really need to choose anything at Blaze; I just get everything I want. Half tomato sauce with meat and arugula drizzled with pesto on one half to feed my love handles - half alfredo and pesto sauce with all veggies and goat cheese on the other half to pretend I'm still on a diet. All this and more for $8? Uh, yes please. The service is better than you'd expect with so many young adults behind the counter. Bravo to the staff for being fast, being thorough, always smiling, and for putting on a professional visage. This type of work ethic is rare to see in most young people let alone a whole crew. Before you pay at the register, DON'T FORGET to order the S'more Cookie. Actually, get two... or three. Ask them to warm it up for you. I could eat pizza every day and never get tired of it. I've also been on the hunt for something new and close to work for lunch during the week. I think my prayers have been answered. This place reminds me of a certain burrito place where there's a line where you pick your toppings, and then pay at the end. Yesterday during lunch this place was BUSY. But I had ordered ahead of time, and was able to skip the line and hit the register. However, I noticed that the line did move fast - and there were plenty of employees to ensure that this was possible. I did get to peak at the toppings and they were all very fresh and vibrant looking. The decor was pretty modern and new. I liked the dark wood tables and the orange accents. Now - my pizza: phenomenal. It's super thin and crispy crust with just the right amount of sauce and toppings. I love a good white sauce, chicken and spinach. Oh how I wanted my heart to be a"blaze" about this place since it is right by work, but sadly some things just fell flat for me. I had a hard time picking between two and three stars. First off, it's in a great location (hwy6/59 area). The interior space is great - lots of seating and its 'new & pretty' inside. It has a very laid back feel to it. However, I arrived at 4:00PM on a weekday and it looked as if they hadn't even cleaned up yet from the lunch crowd - dirty floors and tables - gross! There is a nice BIG patio out back by the creek you can chill and grub out on if you prefer to not sit inside which is a bonus. But again, thumbs down, no dogs allowed. What??? Leave fido at home - no way!! Next up is the food. I had the guy who didn't know what things were building my pizza. Is it a big deal if you ask for Ricotta and you get Feta crumbles? Not if you love cheese like me!! But I'm sure that would cause some displeasure for some. He was friendly and I get it - people are learning. I do love this subway system of top it off down the line. Lots of places are following suit and pizza seems like a great item to rock this concept really. But what I didn't like is the salads being pre-made. Hey - I want to add what I want to ALL my food ;) The pizza was actually really good however. The crust was thin and light and the toppings were fresh. There wasn't a thing about the pizza I didn't like. But the final loss of a star for me was the fact they didn't have beer! What?? No beer or wine?? This is pizza people!! That's a must for me!! This is my favorite pizza place in Sugar Land! When we got there, we were greeted with friendly and enthusiastic workers who greeted us and made our pizza to order. They were friendly enough to call us by our names (which is written on the sheet which contains the pizza order), and even made sure they pronounced the name correctly. They did everything they can to make sure the pizza comes out the way we like it--from the kind and amount of sauce, to the amount of cheese and meat and vegetables put on it. I ordered the Red Vine pizza and my boyfriend ordered the Green Stripe pizza. Both were extremely delicious!!!!!! The red sauce was really good, and so were all the fresh mozzarella and vegetable toppings. They all tasted so fresh. The Green Stripe pizza also had a very very tasty pesto drizzle on top, which was a great finishing touch to the pie. For dessert, we ordered the S'more Pie, which was really good! If you are a s'more fan....try this! The prices of the pizzas are very reasonable, and one pie is enough for one person. Depending on the amount of toppings and how hungry one is, one can even have leftovers to take home. What I really liked is how you do not have to pay PER topping (like in other places). Next time I go there, I plan to try the Spicy Red Sauce and plan to build my own pizza. The staff is also very very friendly and joyful. As stated above, they were very enthusiastic when greeting us and were very pleasant to speak to as they put toppings on the pizzas. The manager was also very nice. He walked around to make sure everything tastes good and is fine. He even helped people look for places to sit during the peak hours (since seating can be quite tough to find when it's packed). I have been wanting to try Blaze for awhile now to compare to PizzaRev. It seems like these 2 franchises get the most props for build your own pizzas. The price at both places is fairly identical. They both offer a few dough options, several sauce choices, and cheese options. The meat choices and veggie options seem somewhat comparable although it seems like PizzaRev might have a few more than Blaze. I don't know if all Blaze locations are laid out the same way, but I like the Pizza Rev seating area in Round Rock a little better. It is more open and spacious, they offer the infinity coke machine, and they have the self serve sauce area with Srircha, chipotle sauce, and other hot sauces in bottles to top your pizza. Now on to the actual taste of the pizza. Blaze puts a nice char on the crust of their pizza which I like, but at the same time the dough was a little chewy which wasn't to my liking. Blaze is great for the concept, which is basically Chipotle except for pizza. Unlimited toppings and you can customize it however you want. Red sauce and white sauce together? Half pepperoni and sausage and half pesto veggie? Whatever you can dream up, you got it! And all for the same price of ~$8. When you go in, you pick a personal sized crust (normal or gluten free) and move down the line. My friend recommended the red sauce and white sauce together but to be honest I couldn't really taste it once it baked up. Then you get to pick your cheese. I love that they have fresh (ovalini) mozzarella and ricotta, yum! And then come the meat toppings and veggie toppings. Some standouts are Italian sausage and turkey meatball, and roasted garlic and zucchini. Then they bring it to the oven to bake, which I think takes 3 minutes (super fast!). When it comes out, you have the option of topping it off with olive oil, pesto, BBQ sauce, and/or fresh arugula. The downside is that if you have a lot of toppings, the super thin crust will not hold up well and will get soggy. I didn't have THAT many toppings on mine but it was still soggy :/. I got a pack of flavors in my mouth! Everything was so good and seasoned so well. I absolutely love Blaze and I never really enjoyed pizza before! This is why I love Yelp. They really make me try out different types of food that I wouldn't usually go out for. The workers are friendly, but they don't do much small talk. It also depends on who builds your pizza because one person can give you a lot of toppings and another would give a few. Quick and fun place to go to grab some tasty pizza! Ordered a pepperoni, black olive, and jalapeño pizza on gluten-free crust. The gf crust was thin, but cooked perfectly and about 6 good-size slices. There are three sauces and I chose the "classic sauce" which was somewhere in between tomato-y and garlic-y and wasn't chunky which I love! The toppings which you choose from as you go down the line in a subway-style manner all looked fresh and plentiful. If they don't put enough on your pizza, just politely ask for more! It took me about 5 minutes to go through the line, and about 10 minutes to get my pizza cooked--very reasonable for going on a Sunday at lunchtime if you ask me! They have a blood orange lemonade which is pretty sweet but different and also fresh squeezed lemonade which was good too. Need ranch with your pizza like me? Okay, two visits under my belt and I've decided that yes, I like it. As you've probably read in other reviews this is a "chipotle/subway style" pizza place. Dress it however you like from the large variety of toppings or you can choose a signature pizza. It's thin crust and the size is right for one, maybe two people if you are not really hungry. The staff was extremely friendly and checked on us maybe every 8 seconds while we ate lol! I'm sure the newness will wear off. I think I found my perfect combination this time: mozzarella, smoked ham, bacon, & spinach with a sprinkle of sea salt and oregano & a drizzle of olive oil. By the time I paid, got my drink, and found a table, they were already calling my name. Super fast! I think it's a fun spot to hit for a quick meal at a decent price, especially if you have kids. We love to come here on a nice day and sit on their back patio by the little lake and eat our pizza and watch the ducks and turtles. They have great pizza, similar to "Mod" but I think Blaze is better. Kudos to making your own pizza! This is my kind of place. Toppings galore and vegan cheese that's actually worth eating. Their aesthetics fit. Nice patio in the back, with a pretty decent view of the water, although the scenery looks unfinished, but that's a city of Sugar Land problem. Clean establishment and nice staff. Score! Their pizza is quite good. Being vegan, it's rare that you'll find a place that'll have good or even mediocre pizza, but they've succeeded. Lots of toppings and they're all fresh. Everything from grilled onions to pineapples. Nice cheese selections too. If you're on a special diet or allergic to any foods, I'd recommend asking them to change their gloves, especially if they're prepping someone's else's pizza beforehand. They may not change them if you don't ask. If I had to nitpick, that would be my biggest gripe. My smallest gripe would be the mini cups they give you for drinking water. They'll refuse to give you a bigger cup if you're not buying soda and I rarely drink so or juice, so prepare yourself to go back and forth refilling your tiny plastic cup. Overall, I must say, I really enjoyed their pizza! If you're vegan or not, I would definitely recommend coming here. Finally decided to try this place out, since they offered delivery service to my work for $1.99 charge. From online order and by the time it go to me, it was about 25 minutes. I build my own with meatball, jalapeños, onions, parmesan and mozzarella. I love the fact that you can add any of the toppings and different cheese as it is stuff I enjoy on my pizza! The pizza was great, thin crust, fired, real cheese used! The toppings were all fresh and tasted great. Blaze is still pretty good. They have started to offer garlic pesto sauce as well as a thicker crust! But I still chose to go with the thin crust, build your own pizza. There isn't much to say about Blaze's pizza that other people who wrote reviews have already said. But I noticed that Blaze's service is extremely lackluster compared to the first times I have been there. The service is not as friendly. No one smiles or seems like they want to be there. They kind of just throw toppings on your pizza and asks the questions very brusquely and abruptly. The pizza is fine but the service is kind of just meh now. Also, if you can, you should definitely sit outside in the back patio. It's really peaceful besides the lake. I came here the other day and got the gluten free build your own pizza. It wasn't as good as I remembered when the place first opened. I feel like they also got rid of some of the toppings... but I could just be remembering wrong as well. I felt like the pizza wasn't as crunchy and the crust I could barely bite into. They also have some amazing simple salads now not only look aesthetically pleasing, but is also really good. I couldn't help but order a small salad with arugula, blueberries, strawberries, and feta. It was drizzled with a balsamic dressing. I wont lie, I been thinking about that salad ever since. I know it sounds weird but I would totally go back for the salad more than the pizza. read more

Blaze is true to its calling -- it is fast AND delicious. It is also reasonably priced, and you can put whatever you want on your pizza, all for a flat price. Their pizzas are thin crust, and you can build your own customized pizza (the option I recommend!) or pick an option from their menu. They also have salads and 1-2 options for sweets/dessert. It's kind of like Chipotle, but for pizza instead. You go down the line & ask them to put whatever sauces & toppings you want (the ovalini mozzarella is delicious -- GET THIS on your pizza)... then you pay & they pop your pizza into the oven. Blaze has become my go to pizza place besides Mods pizza in Sugarland. It's a toss up because I like Blaze's pizza ingredients better. Blaze has more variety of ingredients than Mods pizza. On the other hand, Mods pizza has a better atmosphere and is way cleaner. Mods' management is on point and I have never had any issues there. Now, blaze pizza's staff are young kids and have been slacking for a while now. I don't see how management hasn't fixed this. I'm not surprised if Blaze pizza has dirty floors and tables every day. Anyway, Mods pizza tastes really good as well. Blaze wanted to charge me for 2 cups of water! I told the skinny boy cashier that it was just water! He then replied "oh yea, it's water". His name is Kevin. Well, Kevin was being stingy with the ingredients, like if he was buying them out of his pocket. He was also folding about 100 pizza boxes while the tables and floors were dirty and being neglected. SMH, Kevin! All in all, Blaze and Mods are very similar. You have to try both and be the judge. On a final note, Blaze has more selection of fountain drinks to include Prickly Pear agua fresca, Key Lime Mint agua Fresca, Blood Orange lemonade, and original lemonade plus the usual sodas. My peeps get the normal crust and at times get burnt edges as well. The person that slices the pizza tends to cut the edges off but still I wish they wouldn't come out mildly burned to begin with. TLDR: Expect a scarce amount of the new (not spicy) ghost pepper meatball. Service is non-existent at this location. Don't even bother with curbside as they won't bring it out to you! This location used to be absolutely spot on with service. However, I've ordered for curbside pickup three times in the past few months and sat waiting in my car for at least 20 minutes each time. After waiting in my car with no update and no Blaze staff bringing my order out to me, I've had to go inside the store and get it myself. Service: My curbside order yesterday was an absolutely terrible experience. My pickup order was scheduled for 11:30am. I arrived, called the number listed on the curbside pickup signs, and informed the lady who picked up that I was parked and picking up my curbside order. She replied, "Okay give me a minute and I'll have it right out." 20 minutes later, literally NO ONE comes out. Please keep in mind, there's only one other car parked around the corner from me, so they're not swamped with people picking up curbside orders either. I thought, maybe they're busy inside with people dining in. Therefore, I head inside to retrieve my order myself. Once inside, I see that there's only two people dining in. They're not busy. I told the Blaze staff that I called and was waiting to pickup my curbside order. One female employee led me over to a stack of four pizza boxes sitting on the top ledge of their counter and shoved them to me. She then quickly turned and walked away before I could even utter a word to purchase a brownie. Food: As expected, all four pizzas weren't fresh anymore and had gone cold. I ordered the new ghost pepper meatballs, which aren't spicy, on one of my pizzas, but was extremely disappointed to find about 5 dime sized pieces on the entire pizza. UPDATE: so my original review was completely spot on and I still agree with everything. However, they've been open awhile now and I expected the issues to have been addressed, which they have t. The lines seem even longer, the service is still terrible, but the food is still good. I stand by my original review but drop a star for the poor service that seems to be part of the order here. The main issue here is everything except the food. Behind the counter seems a bit chaotic and disorganized- which can lead to the problems I've seen mentioned in other reviews (slow service/ burnt pizza). My personal experience- the line was about 5 people ahead of me. It went by quickly. They slammed the ingredients on the dough (they don't offer wheat and I've seen prettier pizzas). I went through the line and didn't see an option for pesto- I asked at the end and they added it when my pizza came out. Pizza was cooked fast and wasn't too hot when it came out- just right. Didn't charge extra for ranch- yay! I hate the new modern cement and open roof style- it results in a super loud restaurant. They had what looked like a nice sized porch out back but it was raining. I recently described this place as "Chipotle but for pizza". Blaze has a variety of toppings and choices for you to choose from. I always get the build your own pizza since you can just ask for every topping they have and they charge you a flat price of $7.65. The only gripe is that the line to wait and order at the counter can get pretty long since the pizza is so customizable. The pizza goes into the oven when you pay at the register. With a quick 3-4 minute wait, your pizza is ready. I also noticed that you can get a pesto topping free of charge when the pizza cutter guy is putting your pizza in the box. I never thought I'd see the day of fast food pizza but blaze does it with style and deliciousness. In this particular location, the backyard patio makes it a unique place to enjoy your pizza. Sometimes the tables and areas can get dirty since people eat and just leave. I'm pretty ok with it since I just use a napkin and a quick wipe to clean off the left over crumbs. But beware to those who are a bit more germaphobic. Overall, a great experience and would definitely come back again, when the crowd is less crazy for good, fast and cheap pizza. read more

Enjoying making my own pizza on a thin crust! It's nice to have a flat rate (about $7-8) and just throwing all the yummy toppings on there without additional charge. I wonder how long that will last? Of course if the options are just too much for you, they have a few pre-made set pizza menu items. However, I bet you will change your mind and end up adding your own toppings to it. At least, that's what keeps happening when I dine in. You get to pick your sauce, your cheeses, veggies, and meats. They roast it in the oven and call you when it's done. They don't always advertise it when you pick up your finished pizza but you can ask to top it if with some pesto basil sauce. So far the service has been welcoming and friendly on my visits. I've been for lunch and dinner. Been fortunate it hasn't been too busy or I just beat the family crowds coming in. It's great to custom your own pizza, just hopefully you don't get stuck behind someone indecisive. That just backs it all up. I'm glad to see a new joint like this item up for fresh food on the go. For $7.65 a pie, I am quite impressed. This is no Subway (thank God there are no microwaves, or at least that I saw). Yes, it is a bit like Chipotle but much more. Why? A blazing hot oven that infuses everything together. What a huge difference between places that simply assemble food for you, versus those that seek to really integrate the ingredients and create new, fresh, and winner combinations (like Blaze). I went the "Build Your Own" option and was interested in the Ovalini Mozzarella. When I asked what it was, they said it was a fresher type of mozzarella. They said when it was heated up, it had a very rich, stretchy texture. I was sold and got some, along with classic red sauce, sausage, canadian bacon, spinach, mushrooms, green peppers, and roasted garlic. When I got the pizza, it was very hot, thin crust, just the way I liked it. It was not burnt or anything of that sort. The first thing I noticed was the stretchy, gooey nature of the Ovalini. Really made it for me as the thin crust can make it like you are eating a piece of cracker bread. The cheese makes me believe I am eating a pizza. Everything integrated well, although I thank a previous reviewer not to get too much meat or it will seem salty. The ordering process which is walk up, was a little confusing. I always feel "rushed" at this type of restaurant. The pizza was good. I have to say not amazing but good. The cheese and red pepper was in small little to-go packets. The seating area had a semi-industrial wear-house look. Not exactly inviting. It was small and noisy. So, pizza was good. Build your own pizza, now there's a concept I can get behind! It's kinda like subway or chipotle, but for pizza! I especially like the fact that there's no restrictions... You can have as many or as little toppings as you like all for one price! Actually, I found out, if you want cheese pizza only, you pay less! I like the location, enjoyed the food (although to be totally honest, I have had better pizza before) and of course friendly staff. I'll be back for sure to try different variations. read more
