I can't believe this place isn't rated higher! I am so glad that I found this place. Feels tucked away and not as trafficked but this coffee lounge is as good as it gets. The quality of the coffee aligns with the standard that is Portland coffee. But above all, it was the service and the friendliness of the staff that stood out. They were so kind from the moment I walked in. I had my hands full between the coffee & my little one and they were kind of enough to open the door for me on my way out. I don't normally go out for coffee; I make a nice cup at home, and generally spend my money on other things, but I went in today before a doctor appointment and oh, my. I was incredibly impressed. I got a standard latte and a bagel, and folks... that latte was amazing. Beautifully poured (with art) and served at the perfect temperature, velvety in texture. The bagel was toasted nicely and might have been a bit thin on the cream cheese, but I'm sort of gluttonous when it comes to cream cheese... this was probably a normal amount. Anyway, it was really nice. Very clean establishment, friendly service. And again... the coffee was *excellent*. Will be back, 100%. Thanks for a lovely morning, Blend. read more

I've been stopping in every Thursday and Sunday since January of 2025. The friendly employees and delicious drinks keep me coming back. One of the baristas (named Tai, I think) has the demeanor of an excellent bartender. I only wish they had more baked goods to choose from, but maybe I just need to get there earlier. read more

Supper friendly staff. Amazing drinks and just a cool place to hang out in. Happy we stopped and sat down for a bit. The area is relaxing and the seats are great. Prices are great and in line with most and under some. The taste and quality is what will bring this place over the top for you. We got an iced americano and a mocha but the mocha was so good. The americano was also amazing and just fun to look at as the espresso fell into the ice water. If we are in the area we will be back. I recommend you check it out! First time here. Ordered a decaf latte, and it tasted really good! Service is awesome here. Seems like a ton of locals go through here every day. They have a water station too, which is awesome since I'm always needing to refill my water bottle. Good sitting areas with places to plug in and charge up too! What a lovely little cafe. I stopped here pretty early for a breakfast bagel sandwich after searching near my destination (who has a breakfast meeting where you have to bring your own breakfast?!). It was super friendly and warm, and very welcoming. No, it's not the fastest place in the world, and no, these ain't no East Coast bagels. And somehow, the toaster didn't really toast it....oh well. But the man at the counter was kind, personable, and engaged in conversation while making my sandwich, and also while serving other customers. When I reached my destination and bit in, it was as decent a sandwich as I could have expected. It has reasonable pricing, there is street parking all around it, and it's pretty simple to find. Was looking for coffee while visiting from AK. We have a coffee hut on just about every corner there. I picked this place and we left happy. I got a 16oz mocha, one of the best mochas I've had. I'm constantly on the search for an amazing coffee experience! Having that coffee passion paired with being in the field myself has made it interesting when I come across a place that I love so much I have to review it. Atmosphere: I actually walked in and thought "oh wow! They actually like coffee here" instead of the usual menu and piles of pastries, they had a small food case to the side and a menu posted to the right of counter which made conversation with the barista a possible thing. Personality: The barista at the front was nothing sort of wonderful, greeted with a smile and asked for my order. When I asked about the flavor options he ran me through I think five of them (which is honestly a perfect amount, because too many choices makes for a hard decision) and then said "but we've been playing around with some lavender if you wanted to try that" and I was sold. Anyone who knows me knows that lavender is my thing sooo I went for it. Quality: I was everything but disappointed. Hands down BEST LAVENDER SYRUP - I do NOT give out that title lightly. I've been to numerous coffee shops and have numerous lavender experiences and none have outweighed 'Blend' I hope they continue to make in house syrups! STUMPTOWN-GET IT IN!!! Sorry, I just like saying that, "Stumptown get it in" is kind of my motto when I'm working on a deadline here. I'd throw it up in a pic because I go hard like that, but I don't think anyone has a sign for this...joke - please no one do this. WHAT'S GOOD? Errythang! No seriously, since my big sis bought a house on this side of town, I have been in search of a low-key study spot to "get it in." Her old neighborhood had Extracto and well - I'm one of their biggest fans. So, I found one other cafe over here, but Blend is a sweeter trek; not too far from here I can walk to this big open space with a view - off this little side street. Parts of this city really remind me of parts of downtown Mill Valley - cute and sweet. THE VIBE ...is go ahead and handle your business, or just sit here on this couch and think about what you'd do if you had business. These people don't bother you - even when they should tell dude with the bluetooth that he's being obnoxious. Whatever, I did in my diplomatic way =0 that Stumptown magic or little liquid courage in my coffee? SIZE & EATS I like that it's small and definitely a local spot. The coffee is bomb but that glass case full of baked goods has it going on. I don't know who makes this cheese bagel but I chase them all over the city like it's one of my hobbies. I think they are the same bagels as the ones from Extracto...maybe. Vegan pastries - nope no problem for me. LAPTOPS & WORKSPACE Last thing that makes this place really work for me: wifi and outlet. I can plug my laptop in and zone out for hours spreading out all of my papers and books on a table like this place is my very own war-room. Done it a few times and I am not playing. Lately I have found myself wasting time on Yelp as a way to procrastinate on my homework. On the verge of feeling like a slacker, I had a revelation...if I were to search for a place to go to work on my assignments, my procrastination tool and "wasted time" would actually be beneficial towards finding an appropriate study environment (or so I reasoned with myself). So after doing an ever so creative search for "coffee," I decided upon Blend Coffee Lounge, packed my bag, and headed over. As I walked inside, I instantly felt good vibes by the very clean and rather swank-tastic shop. I could not help but be fairly surprised the place was so empty, but at the same time I didn't mind because that meant less waiting! When I approached the counter, I politely ordered a sugar-free vanilla latte, for here. In return the barista scribbled down my order on a to-go cup and extended her hand for payment, all while maintaining her "imperative" conversation with the other person working. Had it not been awkward to the point where I almost felt the need to apologize for imposing, I would have been impressed by her multitasking skills. Thankfully, once I had caffeine in hand and an iPod to drown out the barista gossip and Depeche Mode overhead, the rest of my visit was far more pleasant. Having free range over the shop, I grabbed a spot at the bar by an open window and began to work, sipping on my drink periodically to keep the creative juices flowing! I wouldn't say the latte was anything extraordinary. I never did taste the vanilla flavoring, but you don't need to mask Stumptown anyway, right? Looking at some of the previous reviews, I am going to go ahead and assume I just stopped by on a bad day. While I don't foresee going out of the way to stop by again, if I were in the area and needed caffeine, I would most likely give this place another shot. In all fairness, even if unpleasant people were working, at least more enjoyable than sitting at home doing homework! Speaking of which, I should probably go finish writing my paper. read more

Just your average coffee place, but there are definitely other better non-busy coffee places around this area. This little café is very cute though. I just got a regular iced coffee and it was a little watered down as I would like. I have had better and more concentrated plain iced coffees at a cheaper price in the Portland area. My friend also got a breakfast bagel, but she said it was alright and she has tried better for a cheaper price as well. read more

When I worked at adidas, there was no Starbucks nearby. That was okay because it forced me to visit Blend Coffee Lounge. It definitely gets a lot of traffic from adidas as it's about a five minute walk from the campus to the shop. They've recently remodeled the establishment and it looks fantastic! Everything is wooden and the walls are straight concrete. There is more seating to the left of the main entrance and I think it's really cool that they have outlets on the seating bench. No need to extend your laptop cords across the table and interfere with someone else's visit. It's got such a modern look and is super cozy to get work done, yet quiet enough to have an intimate conversation with a friend. The employees are always super friendly and the owner was very personable during my last visit. I'd be surprised if someone found something bad to say about this coffee shop. read more

This place is where I go when I need my cup of coffee in Portland. I currently live in Houston Texas, but visit family here often. I've tried other coffee places around town and blend coffee is still my #1 choice. Coffee: can't start out a review without mentioning their main attraction; their coffee. One word; amazing. It's a different blend each time I visit but the quality never fells from each visit. I believe the skills of their Barista plays a big roll in the consistency of the taste. To compliment the coffee, if available, I would recommend their fruit danish. Environment: The staff is so nice and welcoming. Warm smiles and friendly conversation. Dog friendly and kids friendly. Stopped in here for a quick coffee with the kiddo in tow and was happy to find not only the best americano I've had in a long time, but a friendly staff (especially the barista), and a generally nice-to-hang-out-in environment with or without kids. Felt like a stop off for locals, and I saw some other kids, but I didn't really see any special amenities for them as another review mentioned (I'll have to look next time!). All that is to say that it works well for kids without looking or feeling like any part of it has them in mind, if that makes any sense,which I mean as a good thing for everyone. We also got a shortbread cookie that was great, and my other got a delicious latte. I wouldn't say it stood out in a huge way in a city full of great coffee, but the coffee was delicious and the place felt good, so it's worth a try if you're nearby looking for coffee! read more

Beautifully made drinks. Pretty presentation with prefect, not too sweet tastes. I left feeling satisfied and cozy inside. While sitting there sipping our cups of liquid gold, we had a conversation about how even if we had an equivalent espresso maker at home and the know how to use it, it would just never be the same as what we were drinking in this coffee cafe on this cold, blistery day. I'm so thankful that this coffee lounge is on my way to work and so close to my home. The staff is always friendly and my soy lattes are with love and perfection (and pretty feather art). They serve Stumptown coffee and yummy local treats (carrot zucchini muffin, hello!). I've never been when it's super busy - but what lines I've seen are handled quickly and calmly - which is something I can really appreciate since I'm usually running late for work. I don't normally review coffee shops, but I guess I should make an exception for this one. My partner and I stumbled upon this gem while walking a neighbor's dog. I was in dire need of a hot cup of tea thanks to a sore throat. My partner went in to order for us, and I'm not sure what he ordered for me - some type of green tea - but it was exceptionally good. I'm kind of a tea snob and a Tao loyalist, but I was rather impressed by whatever they're serving (it's loose leaf, so that's a good sign). My tea was rather complex with fruity notes and a natural sweetness. Any coffee shop with a superior tea selection is a winner in my books. Additionally, my partner declared his vanilla almond milk latte "the best [he'd] ever had" - and we're both pretty snobby about coffee. It won points for its use of high-quality milk, balanced espresso, and the perfect level of sweetness. Can't award 5 stars since I didn't go in and am not able to comment on customer service, etc, but we'll definitely be back! read more

Went here yesterday before work because I was running late and couldn't go to where I usually get coffee and to my surprise (without looking at the reviews) I found out it was the greatest coffee I ever had. Literally. I just moved here from LA and I was convinced I would never find better coffee than at my favorite place there but this is legit my favorite coffee shop in the entire world. In the land of Stumptown how does a coffeeshop set itself apart? Blend's coffee is superb; the folks who make coffee there, including the owner, take it very seriously. They have a small but sufficient and tasty food selection. They have the basics more than covered. The reasons why I go out of my way to go to Blend is because the ladies that work there are very sweet, their decor is comfortable (they have couches), and the light is really good. I go to coffeeshops to read and they've created a great environment to do that. read more

I have gone here sporadically for the past few years. I use it as a backstop for my usual coffee place. The coffee is excellent, but a little over priced. Have not tried the food, so not sure. Looked good though. Since I don't go there that often it always seems to be someone new behind the counter. I don't know if they have a high turn over or what, but most of the people seem kind of stuck-up or aloof. That hipster stare. Like they are looking at you, but through you. However, last week early on Saturday morning I stopped in and this one woman working at the front was very nice and even offered my a coffee card and asked me to come back again. She wasn't overly perky or anything, just coordial. Maybe she was the owner. The point is she was trying to make new customers. What a concept. Cheers! read more

I was thrilled when this second location opened up in the neighborhood. I had a standing coffee date at the Burnside location that I could now move closer to home! The coffee here is always fantastic. The service is great, there's always good music playing, and there's more seating than the Burnside location as well. The only drawback is they won't be bringing the fantastic sandwiches along to this location :/ Regardless, the bagels are still on point. Side note, the owners are really sweet and wonderful people.
