The owners and the staff are exceptionally kind and positive people. I always get the absolute most positive service here. Their matcha almond lattes are absolutely perfect in the mix and taste,, and other matcha drinks they serve are equally excellent as well. There are very devout and charismatic people who are their regulars and this brings a really old school neighbourhood charm to this particular location of this franchise. There are plenty of coffee shops in Vancouver. But this Blenz is a rarity as it is open 24 hours. It is centrally located in the West End on Denman. Close to English Bay, Robson Street and Stanley Park. While it is part of a chain, the feel of this Blenz is more like a neighborhood independent coffee shop. It is not the hugest of spaces, but it does not feel too jampacked. There is free Wi-Fi here which is a must. You can find a couple of lounge chairs in the back if you are looking for seclusion. While the front is filled with high tables and a small stage area in front ideal for live music. The pricing here seems to be a bit higher than Starbucks. Though I did find the tea drink selection to be better. There were numerous tea lattes to choose from like Royal Milk tea latte. I tried the London Fog tea latte ($3.70) which consists of Earl Grey tea. It is a very creamy/dreamy type drink. Seemed like a better option than drinking coffee which would keep me up all night as it was midevening when I stopped by. If you are looking for a late night workspace in Vancouver, this Blenz is a nice spot. Though you might want to bring headphones just in case someone is jamming out while you are here. read more

I usually avoid Blenz because of the overrun expresso (which inevitably tastes burnt or so overpoweringly dark you can't taste anything but the burnt) and usually terrible atmosphere but when it's the only 24 hour coffee shop in the hood it's all I've got! (I stick to steamed milk and tea anyway...) This location is indeed 24 hours but if you come here bring headphones - the music is always terrible, almost everyone in the place is wearing a pair anyways. Horrible R&B or bad New Age jazz, or something equally intrusive and unpleasant... makes me want to rip out my eyes. Also, if you decide to sit in the comfy chairs at the back you'll inevitably smell the bathroom and whatever air freshener they use in there, which just reeks. This location's recent 'makeover' is a step up from it's previous look but is still too... unwelcoming and sterile. The walls are just too white and they seem to be trying to hard. I really wish there were other all night options in the West End as I'd go anywhere but here, but sadly there aren't. At least in the middle of the night the place is full of people, alone, with headphones, plugged into their laptops, studying/reading, and ultimately ignoring each other. read more

I was biking this afternoon in the westend and wanted a chai latte pretty badly. I found Blenz. Well, I already knew it was there but I found it first before I saw another coffee shop and so I went in.. I ordered a soy chai latte please. The price for a small size comes to $4.42 but I accidently put down an extra 2 bucks which the guy behind the counter was oblivious to as he was scooping it up to throw in the til. I caught it just in time but when I reached for my coins he jerked his hand back, then I had to tell him what happened and he took a good thirty seconds looking into his hand before letting me take back my money. Doosh. At that same moment I caught the girl making my drink with REGULAR milk! She was mid pour when I squealed "SOY please!" and instead of ditching the mix of chai and god knows how much real milk, She took out the soy milk and poured it in as well. Double doosh. At this point I was like, ferget it, gimme mah drink yo. I took my first sip once outside and severely burnt my tongue. Not a happy experience. read more

So in order to keep things as simple as possible, I'm going to go w/ an Incredible Hulk review: BLENZ GOOD! NON-COFFEE PRICES BAD! HULK SMASH! You get the idea. A decent alternative if you're sick of Starbucks, or want to see where Canadians go when a Starbucks isn't nearby. I can confirm this location has free wifi, but it also has babies. Not sure if that's a deal-breaker for some, but having a lid-less cup of scaling hot coffee near a crying baby is perhaps more temptation than one really needs. If you are traveling down Denman and you are craving a sweet treat, this is the place to go. Their were so many temptations to choose from it was hard to pick just two. The coffee was delish... but we were their for the desserts. When you are inside the coffee shop, you are taken away from the hustle and bustle from the neighborhood outside. A beautifully designed place to get a way or meet a friend. The staff is very friendly, and you never have to wait long for your drink We will definitely be back! read more

I live down the street from this place. It's been good to me. It does have some quirks, like the homeless staying on the patio all hours of the night just to use the heaters, the fact that this is almost Koreatown and the clientele suggests such (good food in Koreatown), and it's obvious what this place is here for, is the laptops! Everybody's got a laptop, there's a plug in at every table, and free wireless access with purchase for two (2) hours. This day, I have pneumonia. I just needed to get out. I am actually here right now. I had a soy milk latte and a croissant. Both were just fine. In fact, I'm tempted to get another coffee. Blenz is a good location on Denman and it has a nice patio that was busy on an early afternoon. When we went it, we joined the end of the line which was getting close to the door. To the right of the door, there were a few small tables for a single or double. Making our way to the counter, there were a few high tables on the left. I wouldn't enjoying sitting here as you couldn't have a private conversation if meeting a friend but it seemed to be fine for the customers who were reading the paper and working on their laptops. There are more tables and chairs on the outer edge of the coffee shop. The cream and sugar are is small and doesn't allow for more than a few people standing there. It's a good place to get your drink and/or coffee and then enjoy the seating outside of walking outside as we did. Coffee and muffin prices are comparable to other coffee shops. Like the other reviewer pointed out, this place has an awkward design. The space is incredibly narrow and to make it even more inconvenient, once you have received your order from the barista you have to turn around and make your way back through the line that you were just standing in to get to the door. If there were two doors, one at the front and one at the rear it would be much more user-friendly. When my wife and I came in here there was a long line to the door and as mentioned, we were constantly having to move back and forth to make way for customers ahead of us leaving with their beverages. There are a few tables and chairs if you want to stay around and consume your order inside but these tables make the space even more congested. The cream and sugar counter is located amongst the tables making the space all the more crowded. The line actually moved pretty quick and the service was friendly. I got just a regular coffee with a cranberry orange muffin. The coffee was good and the muffin was fresh. No complaints about the food and beverages - this coffee shop just isn't for the claustrophobic and crowd weary. The place is shaped like a bent nail. read more

Something about the weather in Vancouver just made me want a Chai Tea Latte every afternoon. We stopped at different Blenz's through the city during our week there. Every drink was good, but nothing exceptional. I feel like it's on par with Starbucks, but I personally prefer a smaller, privately owned coffee shop. That being said, Blenz did nothing wrong, but when you are that close to Seattle, there is a lot of gooooooood coffee around. read more

In general Blenz is my go to coffee chain in Vancouver, and I really like this location. It is in a quieter section on the West End and has a cozy feel to it. There are big comfy leather cigar chairs and outdoor seating. The coffee is good and there is free wifi. read more

I designated this place as HOME during my week stay in Vancouver. 24 Hour means I've seen quite a few staff at various times of the day while everything here is perfect for WIFI users although their WIFI Key slip states 4 hours limit. I've noticed the Morning Group of 2 Girls I will call them Ying & Yang. The Asian girl Happy Bubbly Friendly while the Western girl Nonchalent Quiet. They are quite a good combination and have an enjoyable time while working away and greeting the "Regulars". Since the abundance of Regulars, I probably looked quite out of place but I still enjoyed my time there enjoying cups of Teas and Coffees. It's perfect since other Blenz close around 1am(?) and only offer 2 hr limit and little-to-no Power Outlets. Next time around, I'm sure you all know where to find me. :D read more

Great coffee!! Visiting in the area and have been here a few times over the past couple days. In comparison, I find this much better than Starbucks coffee. We've gotten our coffee to go each time, and didn't have an issue with the layout of the store. Always were able to get in and out quickly. I see from some others comments about the layout, and now they mention it a back/side door could be useful to exit. But really, I didn't have an issue. read more

The "Blenz-around-the-corner". It's the one 24-hours Blenz that I know of. With non-stop hours of service, comes a non-stop flow of students; and people sans wi-fi at home -- how do they do that?! Personally, I hate dragging myself and my stuff out of my apartment, even if it's just to a place around the corner. Contrary to most people, I cannot be productive when I'm out in public with a laptop. When I do visit this Blenz, I'm here with a friend for tea. I will not comment on the coffee at Blenz because I wouldn't know about it. I have probably never had a coffee at Blenz. Should you enjoy this sort of working-in-public type of environment, this Blenz will suit you nicely. Everyday, the windows surrounding this Blenz is lined with people with their headphones and laptop. On the couches you will find more people with laptops and headphones. Oh, yes, free wi-fi for the price of one cup of coffee or tea; there is no minimum purchase. There doesn't appear to be a seating time limit either. The outside of this Blenz has become a usual hang-out spot for old people and just... well... old people. I have yet to see otherwise. When the old folks gather, believe me, they can cause quite a stir. Everybody ignores the "No Smoking within 6 meters of a commercial/residential building" sign. Tsk. Sometimes, however, I get a soothing glimpse of the odd police vehicle sitting around this Blenz. It puts my mind at ease, especially when I'm all alone! read more

Blenz makes the best hot chocolate of any of the chain style coffee shops, my personal favorite is the dark chocolate. They use real chips of the various chocolate rather than those devilish flavour pumps. The drip coffee is great but this location has a problem with burning (almost) every single Americano I have ever bought. The location is great for convenience because I live in the neighbourhood. The staff are usually pleasant, even when I'm a grumpy gus because I haven't a caffeine fix. They have free WIFI, this seems to attract a number of seat savers/regulars and that makes the place busy, often. Open 24/hrs! The pre-frozen treats and microwaved savoury stuff are in a display case at the front counter. The weirdest thing about his location is the narrow design. There are two doors to enter (in the same area) and they lead to a bottleneck by the counter. You retrieve your orders from the farther side and politely (hopefully!) have to make you way back through said bottleneck. The patio seating is a decent size but since you are on Denman or Barclay, the foot and car traffic can be heavy at times. read more

I'm definitely not a Blenz fan but it is centrally located and it wasn't my choice of meeting place, it was my client's. The layout is kind of peculiar with two concrete columns by the door that you could hide behind if you want to play hide'n seek, or just hide -lol. The coffee and espresso were palatable, nothing special and when I asked if they had any non gluten food items, the sweet girl had to repeat the word--- "gluuu--tun?" she didn't even know what that is. wow. Nothing like educating your staff about food allergies. They do offer sammies, and even samosas, which is a nice change from the usual mass produced fare. read more

I love Blenz in general. But at this location the customer service didn't seem very good. I went there for the first time yesterday to get my favourite milk hot chocolate on the way to English bay. The lady at the till wasn't really welcoming, she even seemed kinda of impatient while I was reaching for my wallet. They made my drink after the drink for the person that was behind me in the line. And didn't even apologize for that! And, finally, seemed kind of annoyed when I double checked that the drink was non-fat. Out of all the Blenz this one has an awkward shape to it being on the edge of a building that is rounded. It is a decent size, however, the way that they tables and chairs are situated is semi inefficient. I got my green tea latte made to order perfectly, no language barrier issues at this location, therefore, they earned a tip. They also carry Stevia which is a huge plus for me. read more

I was pleased to hear that blenz has implemented a 2 hr per purchase limit on their Wi-Fi, as there are rarely any free seats when I go, and half a dozen laptop users taking up table space who have no drink or food at all. It may encourage me to go back to blenz. It's irritating to spend $5 for a drink and have to lean against a wall for 10 minutes waiting for seats to open up... while these 'laptop hobos' hog space without consideration for any other customers. Over my hour there with my friend ($25 spent of drinks and treats) none of the 6 people (with computers but no drinks) got anything else. Used to be in a busy place you vacated the table when you were done to leave space for the next person. read more
