I really like this sports bar a lot. It has a lot to offer other than just Food & Drink. Though it appears from the road to be a small building it is actually very very large. There is a large patio area to eat outside during Pleasant weather and garage doors that roll up to allow the outdoor to come in. Besides the patio there are 3 volleyball courts to entertain you if you like. There is also an upper level but I did not go up there. Inside the atmosphere is typical sports bar with TVs everywhere. At one end was almost a theater the screen was so big. UK was playing a game so the place was busy. U of L football was also about to start. The room was alive with noise and I'm not sure if that's a positive or a negative. The acoustics could be better so don't expect if there's a lot of people there to have an quiet conversation. I enjoyed the food. The pretzels and beer cheese is some of the best that I've had. The pretzel by itself had a good flavor. I had a blue Burger which was very good. My wife had pulled pork sandwich that she enjoyed. The service was perfect. Actually I was surprised after we put our odor in how fast our food came out. One other convenience is that I like the fact that they take your phone number and text you when your table is ready. I prefer that over a pager that they hand you. They actually send you an initial text just to be sure they're connected. Overall the experience was excellent and I look forward to going back. read more

I love how this place looks! The lay out and concept is super cool! Service was pretty on point too but we were at a dead time. We went in at 4pm so the traffic was slow. This would be a really awesome spot for watching sports games. The food was underwhelming I must say. I was so excited to bite into a big BLT and it was far from that. They advertise as this super sized BLT and really all they did was place a 3rd slice of bread in the middle. It's too much bread and not enough bacon. My moms BLT's are better! Just saying. Went for the first time Saturday and loved it! We had a table of 6 and our food and drinks were quick and everything tasted amazing. I loved the potato skins, my only complaint was the size of the platter for the cost. 5 small skins for $10 seemed a little steep. I had a great time celebrating my BFF's aunty's BDay with friends and family. This is the first time I visited this establishment, and it won't be the last. When you first walk in you are wowed by a huge big screen tv, and many other sports bar sized tv throughout. You won't have any issues viewing the big games here, with the tv views. The downstairs is huge with plenty of sitting area. I was entertained with the chalkboard hanging up on the outdoor entrance, and all the squirrel inspired decoration throughout the place. The BDay party I attended, rented out the upstairs. The upstairs also had plenty of table space and tv viewing. The part that makes me consider this place to rent out for future parties, is the accessible balcony on the second floor. This makes a great addition to any party. Although the guy that showed me the place was very nice and helpful, the greeters seemed kinda short and snappy with me (a Black female) while being really nice to the white people around us waiting as well. Also it seemed like they just didn't want to do business with us. We are upper middle class black people and you should not stereotype whole groups as being one particular way. I adore the Blind Squirrel! The perfect watering hole for all occassions and ages. The service is spot on, even with a crowd, and the food always satisfies. The live music is a fun addition as well. I am a personal fan of the nachos with or without meat. Be warned, one order can serve a party of 4 or more! There is also a nice selection of healthy options such as Tuna Sashimi and salads. Indoor and outdoor seating makes this a great place to dine in any weather. New place in the area, looked up their menu on Yelp and decided to check it out. They have a huge outdoor area with a volleyball area, corn hole, and live music. Inside, they have huge overhead garage style doors that open the restaurant up to the outside porch. Greatly promptly by the server, ordered fried fish tacos& street corn. Boyfriend had a burger and their pain killer drink. We had a seat in front of the bar, huge big screen tv's everywhere. My favorite part was that they played old school MTV music videos on one of the tv's. Corn and tacos were awesome, cilantro like sauce on the tacos was my favorite part. The Blind Squirrel is a very impressive venue. Lots of space, dining both indoors and out, lots of screens, and three very nice looking volleyball courts with plenty of seating. Cornhole games too. The food is excellent. I had their beer cheese burger. Though the beef was cooked a bit more than I had ordered it, it was still very flavorful. The pretzel bun was tasty and not dry. I don't agree with the previous reviewer. The wait does matter, I literally spent half the time I was there waiting in the bar line just to get a glass of tea. There were no tables, it was standing room only. I stood in line 3 times, The first time for 21 min., A gentleman actually let me go before him. The second time I stood in line for 23 minutes, but she gave me sweet instead of unsweet and I had to get back in line for 17 more minutes, and totally lost my designated area that I had secured to stand out of the way. I didn't see a second bar outside, but I really think they could benefit from opening a bar outside to help the demand. I only saw one bar, which to my knowledge was the only source for all the people sitting at the bar, the servers, the people there to listen to the band inside/outside not at tables. Overall I thought the place had a pretty fun vibe. I went there specifically to listen to a band, unfortunately there are a lot of hard surfaces, and the noise just kind of reverberates through the open space and then the added music, whoa...loud and not the best acoustically . I think they could benefit from someone with acoustical expertise to come in and maybe install some soundboards. Especially if they're going to tout themselves as a music venue. The dance floor was pretty large by comparison to some other area bars. I liked how spacious it felt even though it was crowded. The crowd energy was really high and everyone seem to be having a really good time. It reminded me a lot of how Jim Porters used to be 10 yrs ago. The staff was busy and trying their best, they were kind and courteous, particularly since the crowd was pretty much standing in their way as they try to get to their tables.
