VTM was pretty strong. Definitely keeps us awake! Their drinks just have way too many ice. I asked for light ice but they'll give you like 3/4 full cup. ~5.60 for their larger iced drink. I guess ice coffee doubles the price in Irvine. I like the idea of having Vietnamese coffee in Irvine Spectrum though. However, I didn't like that when I used the retail therapy app for the buy one get one free VTM, the cashier who seems like the owner/manager also marked the coupon used for their jamboree location. I tried using it today and it didn't show up and saw that the coupon was redeemed the same day as the one in Irvine spectrum. I definitely don't appreciate that. No wonder he was pressing around on my phone when I paid. That's very dishonest of him and not trustworthy at all. It's not like many managers/ owners I've met in other coffee shops who sell Vietnamese coffee. read more

Alright.. so I stopped by here kind of against my will and stepped in with a positive attitude... unfortunately my premonition of how horrible the coffee, service, and clientele was, was too true to ignore. In fact, I walked around the spectrum for two hours debating whether or not to leave a review because I didn't feel like this place was even worth my time. Coffee: we ordered an iced Vietnamese coffee and a cafe au lait. The Vietnamese coffee came out of a plastic box with a spout and as I watched the "barista" make it, he spilled it all over the place, on his hands, on the floor, on the cup and just kind of wiped it with a dirty rag and went on with his life. My cafe au lait tasted like burnt coffee and watered down milk. Service: okay.. so I get that high school and college kids need jobs- but at leave have a sit down and explain that customers come first. These guys were too busy giving their friends free drinks, answering texts, and making themselves drinks as they were coming on and off the clock. Clientele: I know it's not really their job, but it's not really safe to let little kids running around and bumping their heads everywhere. The parents should have controlled their kids, but a manager should have stepped out and asked the parents to keep them from throwing coffee kids, playing with sugar packets (and putting it back) and just being disrespectful of the business. I love supporting small businesses and anywhere that has coffee, boba, and food sounds amazing but this establishment missed the mark. read more

Placed an online order and it was not ready when I was told it would be. When I walked in I was not greeted by the staff and I was standing there for a solid 10 minutes waiting for my order. Part of my order was sitting on the back counter for quite some time before they finished the rest of my order. Food had good flavor, but sadly it was cold by the time I finally got my order. I was very disappointed with my overall experience, but more so not being greeted by any staff. read more

I think this place offers some delicious coffee varieties. However pleasant my experience was - the staff offered warm smiles and the service was speedy - I was just not a fan of their Cold Brew. I drink a lot of coffee. But their Cold Brew just did not do it for me. It had a bitter and pasty after taste that I definitely did not enjoy. I know people who swear by this place. And I must admit that I really enjoyed the Iced Latte that my friend ordered. So i'm surely going to return and try their other stuff. This review may be updated in the future! Until then, I will steer away from the Cold Brew. read more

If I could give negative stars, then I would. I ordered $50 worth of food and drinks for my party & proceeded to sit down and eat/drink at the available table inside. Not 30 seconds into my first bite of avocado toast, an employee comes rushing over and orders me to leave immediately. He said that there's no eating or drinking inside. So you mean to tell me that I can order $50 worth of food/drinks and leave a generous tip, only to be booted out for enjoying the very food/drink I purchased. Make that make sense. Period. read more

VTM coffee was great. The first time I went it wasn't filled up all the way. I was pretty sad. The drink was nice and strong, but a "little" sweet for me. I usually have a cold brew that's why, but I like to try Vietnamese coffee from all coffee stores I go to just to compare. BLKdot coffee is pretty good and would recommend it to others to try. read more

I think this place has great coffee. I had their mint mojito coffee and it was pretty good. I wish however it had a little more kick to the coffee flavor. It felt like the mint and the sugar in it was too overwhelming. On top of that, the ice was just added too heavily. So I would have to give it a 4/5. The place was hard to find. The yelp address is completely inaccurate, so I had to call in and ask them where they were at. They're next to the new playground at the Spectrum and on the newly finished side of Target. I think if they were re-located where many people walk by at the Spectrum, this place would do extremely well. Anyways, kudos to this place for its uniqueness! Undrinkable. The VTM coffee is so strong it made me gag every sip. I had to pour a gallon of milk before it was somewhat drinkable. That coffee lasted me 4 days... Also I get it, you're supposed to put a lot of ice in a Vietnamese coffee but putting ice to the point where I can't even fit the straw in the cup, that's over the line ... My girlfriend seemed to enjoy her lychee tea drink so that's why I give it an extra star. But honestly it's definitely not a coffee I'll order again. read more

Love their exotic passion tea with chia and crystal boba. They also have a wide selection of coffees and select pastries available. There is limited seating inside but plenty of space outside since it is in the Irvine Spectrum Center. read more

I would not recommend ordering online at this location. Or really going to this location in person. I waited almost an hour for my online order and then watched as employees pushed my order behind "in person" customers because "they were there." They also got my order wrong and promised to refund me the difference, but never did. I prefer the Tustin location. read more

We went here to try out something new and not only is their coffee amazing, but when we miscommunicated about the order they fixed our order without being asked. I offered to play for the coffee since we did not say what we wanted correctly and they said no. They wanted to make sure we were taken care of. I would recommend this to anyone. read more

Came here for the ice blknd mojito coffee. You can definitely taste hints of mint in the black coffee. No cream or sugar needed. I've been to the location at the google building as well and they use the crushed ice which I personally favor. Pick up a stamp card and collect away. The workers are friendly and offered a free cup coffee drink to someone since it was their birthday. read more

If you want to be punched in the face to get woken up, opt for the VTM iced coffee here instead. It'll give you the same effect without the black eye! Man, the coffee here is SOOOOOO good!!!! And it's REALLY, REALLY strong. I got one drink and it lasted me three days since I just poured some out and diluted it with some hot water each morning. I tried the LVTM that my friend got and this is going to be my go-to drink from now on. It's lighter (has less espresso I think?), and has no condensed milk, so it's more bitter, but it's a really good bitterness that I really like!! It's not burnt-bitter like a lot of other coffee places. They also have a stamp card, but it's 12 purchases to a free drink, unlike the usual 10 at boba shops. read more

New favorite local coffee spot. VTM coffee was delicious, not overly sweet for my taste like some places do. We also got the lychee peach tea with chia and lychee bits which was super good. Not usually a fan of the sweet fruit teas but this was stellar. Not too sweet, good texture balance. read more

I love the mango delight tea and get it every time. The mango bits are unique. My gripe is the portion served has changed since I first got it. Now it's mostly ice for the large size. Ask for less ice? Sure they can do that but it just won't be filled to the top. For a $6 drink it's disappointing. read more

After doing a bit of shopping we got snacky, and blkdot hit the spot! I got the sausage egg toast and a green tiger, both of which were delicious. It tastes like they use real matcha, and the toast was STACKED with the toppings. So yummy. My boyfriend got a cold brew and the brekkie bowl, which he said were good too! The smell of his food was making me drool while I waited for mine. read more

They moved the cups, then stacked them all together, then touched them all 2 more times to get them in a line again. Meaning they touched your cup tops multiple times and the inside of your cups touched multiple other surfaces - cross contamination. Just keep your cups in a line in the first place, there's no reason to keep moving them back and forth, up and down, stacking and un stacking the cups and touching them multiple times before you've even made the drink. It's not like any of the baristas washed their hands in the 30 minutes that I was standing by the counter watching the drunks getting made. They then proceeded to stack the cups again and dropped two in the floor. Because of this it also caused them to become disorganized. We got our drinks 10 minutes away from each other because they lost my cup due to their stacking and moving of cups. I hate that I tried this new place and I wish I didn't come here. read more

We haven't discovered many good coffee spots since moving to Irvine, but this is definitely a good one! Just to help any newcomers, this is located on the end of the Spectrum by the Apple store, and is right in front of the colorful children's net playground (we had trouble finding it at first). The coffee is really delicious, and has a nice sweet note to it. My wife had the Vietnamese coffee, and I had a latte. Both were great, and it was awesome to see the barista make each coffee with some TLC. Shows how proud they are with their craft (and so so admirable and worthy of praise). The staff has been incredibly kind and friendly. This makes the location stand out above MANY. Great coffee, great service. That's a recipe for success. The location is a cozy little shop, with a few outdoor seating options. They offer some pastries, along with hot espresso drinks, and cold iced coffee drinks as well. Overall this is definitely one of the good places to visit if you're in the area! Definitely recommend. read more

Pretty unique coffee styles! But i usually buy my caramel macchiato from 85 degree bakery right next door!! Delicious. Perfect blend. I came into BLKdot because 85 degree bakery had too long of a line. Their caramel macchiato tastes watery and bland here!!! What!!! It came as a shock because of all the different varieties they offer I would expect exceptional coffee. Needless to say... won't be getting it from here the next time. If you need a kick for the long day ahead get a Viet coffee from blkdot coffee! It is bomb! I usually make my own Viet coffee at home because I like it extra strong. Blkdot coffee version of traditional Viet coffee is extra strong. I even got the drink with less ice because I thought it'll be watered down too much, but I was wrong I should have gotten full ice. I ended up having to add more of my own ice because it was so strong! I got a large cup and that drink can probably be split into three servings with a cup full of ice each. SOOO STRONG SOOOOOO GOOD! Will definitely be getting it for my drive home to the Bay everything I'm in socal! read more

Their in-house syrups are pretty good and coffee/espresso generally taste like a smooth pull. The quality of the tea is terrible and the fruit used doesn't taste or look fresh at all. I tried the strawberry green tea and the lychee green teas. The lychee tea I threw away after one sip, the strawberry tea I struggled with and couldn't finish either. !!!! Take a look at pictures people post of the strawberry green - it looks brown with a few chunks of soggy fruit. Let me tell you it tastes the way it looks. Anywhere else the same drink is naturally red with fresh fruit. I've also tried other fruit teas multiple times across several years since they opened in case I came on bad days. It was just as bad a week ago as it was when they first opened...Never spending a single penny more here. Perhaps the milk teas are decent, but I honestly don't know how they could be when the fruit teas are such a miss...

One could probably eat it by the spoonful! Such a complex flavor complement to the matcha latte. Caveat: I am partial to mango/coconut milk or mango sticky rice matcha lattes. The goma matcha was worth the $8 pricetag. Tip: Matcha Mondays=10% off matcha drinks! The milk bread ($5.50) was soft, with a delightful bursting sweet cream filling topped with those shite pearly crunchies-- unique and delicious. The restroom is located in a separate building across the courtyard and watching people search for it can be mildly entertaining LOL It is a nice place to work with plenty of natural light and a wonderful patio for enjoying nice weather. I just wish the drinks were a little better. But because of the convenient location I will probably try it again. Maybe Ill try something iced?

The Matcha with Cream Top was also incredible. The first sip was so thick and creamy that I barely got any matcha which is honestly a good sign. They stick to a more traditional approach and don't add sweetener unless you ask for it. Lastly, the pourovers. Some people might question the price, but take a minute to smell the different beans at the counter. You'll quickly realize that not every bean smells like coffee. The tasting notes actually come through and you can tell a lot of care goes into every pour over they make. Most drinks, aside from the pour-overs, are around $4.50 to $7, which is a far greater value for what you're getting in sheer quality. There are way too many cafes these days that focus on aesthetics and end up sacrificing quality. This place feels like it's run by people who genuinely love coffee and it shows in every order. Last note: they have their system down to a tee. The wait in line may be long but once you order it's super quick to receive your order.

Not huge, which is a plus! The cashier was great at suggestions and describing what each drink or crepe was. Love how you can see everything is fresh and made to order. I suggest if you do get a crepe eat it straight away. My favorite was the mango drink. Heavenly! The sitting area is fun and whimsical. Best thing is it was kept clean even with all the foot traffic. We wanted to try everything so I know we will be back!

I was in town recently, and after dinner(elsewhere in Irvine) we decided on Suul and Beans for some Bingoo dessert. We shared 2 Strawberry Bingsoo among the 4 of us. This visit reminded me why I normally don't choose to come here, except for convenience reasons, like on this evening. Their Bingsoo is too icy and is not creamy and pillowy soft like other BIngsoo shops. Their Bingsoo almost tastes like shaved ice with fruit on top. Also, the condensed milk was given to us in a small cup and wasn't mixed in the bottom layers of each bowl. So, it was icy at the bottom, all the way to the top and then some strawberries with a condensed milk drizzle, a few mochi pieces, and then we were given a small cup of the condensed milk to sweeten it up ourselves. I don't think I will be back, except if I really don't have a choice for a dessert nearby.
