Been here a few times when I feel I need a pick me up as they have great Vietnamese coffee but this past week will be my last. I ordered a regular viet coffee and breakfast sandwich for a friend and then asked for a large viet coffee, easy ice for me. The girl behind the counter was straight rude when she said they are going to leave some space in the cup, as if this would cause an issue with me or that I was trying to rip them off. Like relax, I said easy ice cause I wasn't feeling well and don't like ice cold drinks and this place is notorious for pouring a ton of ice in their coffees. On top of that, a breakfast sandwich is now $12 and a large coffee is $6.50. Hard pass from me from now on. read more

This place is so close to my gym so I decided to grab breakfast after workout. First timer! I ordered the iced Spanish latte with soy and to eat I ordered breakfast bun and let me tell you it definitely did not disappoint! The Spanish was soooo good, not to creamy not too sweet just perfection and the breakfast bun omg the bun was so soft and the bacon was crispy just how I like it. The chipotle sauce they use with the slaw made that sandwich really tasty! It wasn't as busy when I went which is right when they opened so I'm not so sure how fast their service is but I got my order pretty quick! Price wise? Congrats to the new location guys!! Came for a media visit, and have been friends with management since the last 3 locations they've opened. Everyone I've met has been friendly and welcoming. Each location has a unique creative outlook in its settings & design. This particular location has a merch stand & exclusive item (the Hot Honey Avo Toast). After reading past reviews, I do agree that it can be kinda pricey but can see the reasoning and comparisons they may be going for. It's like a Starbucks for Vietnamese Coffee. A bit of a niche for strong coffee lovers, complimented with toasts in their own unique styles and blends. What initially was made for friends in a corporate environment, expanding out to locals around. Would second the motion to possibly drop prices down a bit tho, and can makeup in other ways. Maybe bundle / combo deals. And a customer rewards program. Regardless, the food and drinks are great, and the people are appreciated . 5/5 because they must be doing something right, if they're only growing and building out from their now 6th location . read more

Overpriced and discontinued their daily brew. Only option is to pay 1.50 more for an Americano. This was the most convenient place to stop before heading to work but now with no simple cup of coffee and almost 5.00 as the next closest option, they are doing me a favor and saving me $ because I won't be going back. Slow dripped, Vietnamese craft coffee. Blk Dot is a locally owned chain of coffee shops, with 5 locations in OC, and this one, in Long Beach. It is conveniently located kitty corner from Trader Joe's. The shop is small, with a few tables outside. Their menu includes a variety of specialty coffee/tea drinks, sandwiches, toasts, bagels, bowls, and pastries from local bakery Crema. I got their signature Iced VTM, which was truly memorable. The coffee was rich and full bodied in flavor, enhanced by the sweet, creamy condensed milk. It was equal parts strong and sweet, effectively powering me through a 12 hour work day. If you are a Vietnamese coffee fan, you must try Blk Dot's rendition. It is one of the best in town. I was almost equally impressed by the Avocado Toast. They use a rustic, crusty bread that supported the ample topping of perfectly ripe avocado slices and juicy cherry tomatoes, but was not too hard/chewy. I added hot honey, which I highly recommend. The staff were kind and brought my food out to me, even though this is a to-go kind of place. I will definitely come back soon. read more

They don't take cash! This place is small and the 4 people working this coffee shop were not happy and looked miserable. Not one smile. The cashier was kind. I came to the LB location with my wife because we visited the OC circle location and the coffee was good and strong, the prices were decent and the people working + the location had a nice vibe. The coffee at the LB location was not good. We also ordered the avocado toast cuz the picture online made it look so good and all we got was a piece of bread with a few tomatoes and a smear of avocado for 12$. Also ordered a hot mocha coffee and it was cold. Who's running this joint? Is there no management here? Isn't anyone reading the reviews? Before anything, Customer service is important in the food service industry. Sometimes that makes up for bad service and mediocre food. Not coming back and not recommending it to anyone. read more

Love the location and the drinks are high quality and come out quick, the food takes a while but is super delicious and definitely has care put into it. The employees are very friendly and always greet me when I come in, helpful in describing the drinks when I'm curious about them in a friendly manner. Finally! I've tried what People describe as the best coffee! I am caffeine sensitive but asked the barista for some decaf recommendations and she suggested a caramel macchiato. NGL this is one of the best Blk Dots I've ever been to and this is coming from someone who's been to all of the Blk Dots and a regular. At first look it seems like the location is whatevs cause it's made to be as a take out spot only - as in no tables to hangout inside. But the service here is great. TBH LBC and Cypress are the only Blk Dots I've been where the staff is actually nice to you. Like actually helps when you pick up an order. It sets these locations apart from the rest and I dig it. Just posting to let the owner know that the Sunday crew is fantastic. I hope they get raises, healthcare, and paid time off. I work in the same center and they get deluged with orders and walk ins. They treat each other with grace and respect... make sure customers know where their order is at in the process and they take care of a rush in under 15 minutes. The CAB sandwich was worth it and filling and the machta latte was the proper temp.... Pretty impressive given the rush. This place is a special treat for me. read more

This BLKdot coffee is very much needed in this very vacant plaza. I walked in and the girl in front was very friendly and answered all my questions. I have tried BLKdot coffee and the Vietnamese coffee is a kicker that will have you strung up for hours(good if you need to work an overnight shift like me). I went with the light Vietnamese coffee and got a regular size. I definitely became wired for the most part of my day at work, so it did the trick. I also got the jalapeño bagel with crème cheese. I spent about ten dollars which is about fair for a two-item breakfast. Yes they have other coffee items that are not Vietnamese coffee like the cold brew! My friends and I decided to stop by for some coffee and tea after some pilates. I ordered the VTMatcha ( Vietnamese Iced Coffee with Matcha) while my friends ordered the Iced White Chocolate Latte and the Mint Iced BLK'nd Mojito Coffee. Everything was good, but more on the sweeter side than we were all used to, for sure. Out of the three, the Mint Iced seemed to be the sweetest one, then the VTMatcha, then the Iced Latte. I believe you can adjust the sweetness level for all. But at least now, we are all aware of what the standard sweetness is for each drink. I was excited to try this place out after looking at the menu and recognizing it from Orange County, but I was kind of disappointed. I ordered the sea cream jasmine and asked for it to be less sweet. The tea flavor was really weak and when mixed with the cream, the drink didn't taste like anything. My husband got the VTM coffee and it's super strong just as advertised. Prices are a bit steep for what you get in my opinion. I think this place may be ok for coffee but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more
