Stopped here after going to the Trader Joe's next door. The Coffee Bean that was immediately next door closed awhile ago so it's nice to have a place to grab some coffee. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized it's primarily a Vietnamese coffee shop! I really think Vietnamese coffee is the best out there. They make a Vietnamese coffee that's traditional and hard to find outside of little Saigon that's authentic. My husband doesn't think so but he's not Vietnamese so I don't think his opinion counts as much, haha. We had the VTM coffee which I really liked, and the avocado toast and breakfast banh mi. I felt like the avocado toast was a little lacking in avocado (kind of just a light spread), but the breakfast banh mi was a good take on a traditional banh mi. Would definitely come back! read more

Review is for the Viet ice coffee. Good level of sweetness and good robust taste and strength. A few reviewers mentioned finally a good viet coffee joint outside of little Saigon to go to. I also agree and love that it's local. There is still a hazel nut after taste but the robust of the coffee and sweetness of condense milk make it still enjoyable. Someone mentioned phin on a review and I think it's better than phin. Good dark color and robust smell and taste I appreciate the cup it's served in with the pin back sip lid. I'm so glad BLKdot opened up right in the middle of a horrible work deadline! With a little adjustment to my route in the mornings, I was able to stop and pick up BLKdot multiple times and let me tell ya - the coffee hits your hard! When I'm craving something on the slightly sweeter side, their classic VTM hits the spot. I got a large once and was completely wired for the entire day (probably not a good idea) and a regular size gets the job done really well. Most of the time thought, I just want a simple iced sea salt coffee. Black coffee topped with their sea salt cream (reminds me of the sea cream black at 7Leaves), a little hint of salt, a little creaminess, and a whole lot of coffee to sustain me through the day. Coffee was delicious, first timer! I got the Vietnamese tiger. Soooo delicious. Also tried the Sammie, perfect grilled cheese. It was phenomenal. The coffee shop is great, cute little place. Music was a vibe. Customer service, bad. The cashier, smaller middle eastern looking chick had a rbf. She didn't even greet us at that. She didn't even bother to wait for me to finish paying on card terminal or see if I requested a receipt. I asked for a straw & her body language/facial expression was as if I was asking for a free drink. Didn't like her vibe, attitude & customer service. I'm surprised this establishment doesn't have better reviews. I tried their VTM with Matcha and it was the best tasting dirty matcha I've had. I was worried it was going to be strong or bitter but it was so sweet which I loved. I also got thru hot honey avocado toast and it was amazing. The bread was so soft and generous amount of avocado. You can taste the difference in flavor and quality after you take the first sip of a iced Vietnamese coffee from Blk Dot Coffee. Very chill but prompt service. One of the best Vietnamese coffees we've had anywhere...totally a must try & will definitely come back! Only giving 4 and not 4.5 bc there is one or two areas that could be improved: I wish they would take cash & switch out the plastic white straws they use for a better quality brand straw bc in the past I've had the straw tip break into sharp edges as I'm sipping on it. I will start off by saying that the Dulce vtm coffee is one of the best coffees I've ever had. It was divine. But there was so much ice I couldn't enjoy my drink. I paid almost ten dollars for the drink and I barely got anything. I'm a slow drinker. It takes me a while to finish a beverage. The fact that I finished this drink in five minutes shows how much ice was in there. There was barely any coffee or milk. It was filled to the brim with ice. I came in the morning around 10:30. It was a bit crowded ,but that's to be expected since it's morning time. I got the avocado toast and added bacon, this was really good. I wish I had l just a little more flavor but overall pretty tasty. I also got a chai latte and this was also very good! The only downside would be the price, both of these items came up to $23 , which to me, is a bit pricey for toast and coffee. Overall, I recommend if you don't mind spending a little extra money.:) read more

Their clear crystal boba is better than regular boba. They are able to adjust levels to sweetness. My friend recommends their Hot White Chocolate. Parking is easy. Service is friendly. This is probably my least favorite location for Blk. I just find the staff here to be very unwelcoming and unhelpful. They rush you through your order and has a more of a "what do you want" attitude. The shop is also really small with no seating. There is communal seating outside but if its cold out you are shit out of luck. I do think their drinks are pretty good though but just pricey. I usually come to blk dot once or twice a week if I'm lucky. I enjoy there food and drinks. My current obsession would be their iced matcha Vietnamese coffee. The two stars has to do with the service received today. There was probably five employees today, not one person had a smile on today which I found very unwelcoming and weird since I've been here a few times. I ordered two iced coffee one with ice on the side, avocado toast, apple juice, hot chocolate and chocolate croissant. Five minutes later they tell me they're out of apple juice which I was ok with since they had lemonade, I received my drinks both with ice, and toast about 10minutes later. I waited a few more minutes and still have not received the chocolate croissant having to remind them only to be told they were out of the chocolate croissant as well. I had my one year old daughter in my arms. It would have been nice if employees were aware of my large order and offered a drink tray and bag. They seen me waiting not one person asked or checked if everything was received. Items were out of stock which should have been told when the order was given not when the customer ask where there item is. Terrible customer service on morning of Thursday 4/24 around 8:15 / 8:20 am . Completely unwelcoming and dishonest with customers. Young man completely cut me off when i told him i was here to pick up my order i placed on uber eats 20 minutes prior with a 5 min pickup estimate for one coffee. He didnt even begin making it until i told him i was here to pick it up and then proceeded to tell me it was a work in progress when he hadnt began any of his orders (i could see the whole thing from where i was standing) his coworker was completely snarky once she saw i was dissatisfied and gave me a whole attitude. I come here all the time for your coffee and it just tastes so watered down this time." They didn't even offer to get me something else and charged me AGAIN $7. Don't let the modern decor fool you. This local OC chain is serving up some authentic Vietnamese Coffee aka VTM. ITEM'S ORDERED: VTM (Original Vietnamese Coffee) VTMatcha (Vietnamese Coffee + Matcha) TASTE: The VTM here is well made & what I expect from a good Vietnamese coffee. Strong dark roast coffee flavor balanced out (not overtaken) by the sweetness of condensed milk. Coffee strength is quite present so I could see this maybe being too strong for some people. I do see they also offer a lighter version as well. Towards the middle/end it did get somewhat too sweet & creamy for me, but I am a big strong coffee fan. VTMatcha is exactly what the name implies. For the matcha fans, the ratio of matcha to coffee is on the matcha side. & On the plus side the earthy matcha flavor is not lost. So it comes together with the Viet coffee to make a tasty drink. SERVICE, LOCATION, & PARKING: Service was very good right when we walked in. Cashier was friendly & the girl who gave the drinks to me was kind as well. Just FYI, they don't accept cash. It's a pretty small interior with no inside seating. Pretty sure it's not just a covid thing since I don't see where they'd even put inside tables/seats. Looks like there were 3 tables outside. Interior is a simple, clean look which is still inviting. I like how the ceilings are high to make the small place seem larger. This BLKdot is located Marketplace Long Beach (corner of PCH & 2nd Street) with several other businesses (Trader Joe's, Veggie Grill, etc). There's ample amount of parking & I found a spot right in front on an early Saturday afternoon. FINAL THOUGHTS: Little bit pricey here since you are buying from a newer/modern coffee shop in a nicer area. The VTM was basically $6 while the VTMatcha was basically $7. BLKdot VTM reminds me of the house coffee at 7 Leaves, but stronger. Which makes sense since the VTM does not have the sea foam to subdue/counter balance the coffee strength. It they used crushed ice I'd be even happier. Just makes it that much better to me. They use bamboo straws which hold up much better than paper & are more eco friendly than plastic. I like this. Could you find a similar (maybe better?) Vietnamese coffee at a more "mom & pop" location for lower cost? I've been a fan of BLKdot Coffee since I've tried them in Irvine! They have really delicious Vietnamese coffee and avocado toasts. I'm so glad they opened one up in Long Beach. This location is in the plaza by the Marina, next to Trader Joes. Parking is ample as it's a huge plaza with many stores. The shop itself is small, no room for indoor seating, but there are a few tables outside. I usually get the VTM Tiger (has delicious qq brown sugar jelly), Green Tiger, or VT Matcha. Always strong and tasty. The toasts and sammies are pretty good too! I recommend the spicy avocado egg toast or the cali chicken sammie. Service is friendly and energetic! Food and drinks at @blkdotcoffee. They were welcoming and friendly! They made an extra Vietnamese iced coffee and ask if I wanted it, woohoo! I ordered an Iced Chai Latte and a Brekkie bowl! The staff were so kind and welcoming. Having great service is huge in my book. I used to go to the Irvine spectrum location but glad they opened one up in Long Beach! It's in the same plaza as Trader Joe's which I love.
