I just moved to the neighborhood and needed to find a new nail salon. I tried out Bloom and the customer service was great. Everyone was very friendly and got me in right away. The salon was very clean as well. Unfortunately, the skill set is horrible. I asked for tip extension with a French manicure with powder. The French is completely uneven, thick, and on some nails even straight across the nail. The nails are very very thick as well and shouldn't have been dipped into the powder as many times as they were. The price for this was $83 ... I'll have to go to another salon to get these fixed asap read more

Horrible in every way possible. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. I went in a few days ago. The young lady was extremely rushed. It was a very weird encounter. She was moving unnecessarily fast for no reason. It was not rush hour and not busy at all. She seemed annoyed when I asked her questions. Despite the rush, I liked the way that they came out. She did listen to what I wanted and the shape and polish were perfect. At the end of the service while drying my nails, she came over to give a back massage. When I started to ask about making an appointment, I looked at her reflection in the glass in front of us and she rolled her eyes and sucked her teeth! I take it she didn't realize that I could see her. Flash forward to a week later, I noticed a black film on my nails. I did a bit of research, and it seems that the nail tech must have used the wrong type of top coat polish since it was regular polish instead of uv gel. I went back in to ask about it and she was VERY loud and rude, again for no reason. I wasn't ever rude or loud or obnoxious during either visit. She refused to take accountability and so I just left. I'm not argumentative in that way. It honestly is very unfortunate b/c despite the weirdness, I loved the way she did them. If there was a mistake made, just own it and fix it. She's very unprofessional and I can see the establishment losing a lot of customers b/c of that one tech. read more

Resulted in double ingrown toenail and infection, costing hundreds of dollars to visit podiatrist for. For gel she was working at glacial pace she didn't even speak English so she couldn't follow my simple instructions 1. Don't massage my shin 2. Bait and switch! Do not come here! Upon walking in the door, I flinched when the girl responded that a normal mani/pedi was $43, because I thought that was overpriced. But, it was freezing cold and I didn't feel like walking around looking for a cheaper price, so I went ahead with the mani/pedi. So everything was fine with the service until it came time to pay. First, they don't accept Amex here (boo, no points for this overpriced purchase!). Second, the girl swiped my MC and brought me a receipt for $47. I asked her, "Wait, I thought you said the price was $43" and she starting speaking in Mandarin with another worker and then said "Well, um, we have to charge you tax". On my receipt, there was no itemization of tax--which by the way, their calculators/registers must be broken because 8.875% tax on $43 would bring the total to $46.81. Then the girl gives me two singles back to "make up for it" but I said either charge me the $43 or I won't leave a tip and I won't come back. If I could give 0 stars I would. I am appalled at the people that work here. I came in for a mani/pedi and they showed me a special but apparently the one titled "lavender spa" has actually two different options which was not explained to me. I thought I was getting mani, pedi, callous remover, all of that. When I explained my confusion she was so rude and next thing I know I have 4 people surrounding me- literally ganging up on me telling me it's my fault that I misunderstood. I did not want the mani anymore, I just wanted to pay for the pedi and leave. He would not, literally would not let me leave until I paid for the mani too (even tho I did not get the mani!) he was holding the door shut...as if I was gonna run out without paying!? I had never been treated so poorly at any business or by any person for that matter, in my entire life. I had to pay the full amount even tho I didn't get the mani, the callous remover, etc. they actually threatened to call the police on me which was just ridiculous because I should have called the police on them for harassing me. They have a lot of great colors for gel manicures and they did a pretty good job. However, DON'T DO THE MASSAGE!! I paid $12.50 for a 10 minute massage which was the most useless service I've ever paid for in my life. She used one hand most the time and it was just her rubbing and pressing on my back instead of actually applying pressure and massaging. I honestly felt like giving her a massage at the end of it to show her how it's done. Even though their service isn't the greatest, they did a pretty good job with my nails so if ur interested in just getting your nails done without a massage or any interaction with your manicurist then I would recommend this place. read more

It was my first time at this place to get a gel manicure. It was by far the worst experience I've ever had and I've been getting gel manicures for years. Tina, the girl who did my nails, first argued about the color of the polish with me. It was too much for her to show me different colors apparently. Then she wanted to soak my nails without filing them. She then decided to file my nails so thin, that they would break immediately if it wasn't for the polish. At the end, she didn't dry my nails long enough and when I brought this to her attention she said its a new machine and it drys faster... When wiping my nails off she made a big, clearly visible and noticeable dent in my thumb. I showed it to her and she pretended not to see anything. After several minutes of discussion another girl came over to look at it. She also pretended to not be able to see or feel anything.... I refused to let this go and after another few minutes, both said: maybe you scratched it... Not once did they offer to re-do the nail. To top it all off, I already have 2 chipped nails after not even 6 hours. Most wasted $42 (!!!) of my life. Stay away from this place! I will most definitely not return ever!!!! read more

They have a notice saying that everything is sterlized and they will open the tools in the little sterilization package in front of you - I guess that's a bit like Dashing Diva. I ask for the price of a mani -pedi - it's $39.00 which includes the 20% discount. Ok - I usually pay more at Dashing Diva and it is shiny and new ... I don't do nail polish so the big thing for me about getting a mani-pedi is the massage. This mani-pedi was probably the fastest I ever had. Massage? probably about 1 minute per foot/leg - seriously! Same for my hands :( Greenhouse Spa and Swan Nails are not too far from here and they are both cheaper. When I'm not wanting to splurge at Dashing Diva, I'll head back to either of those places. I got the green tea pedicure for $59 and my feet are still rough on my soles. ( I don't have bad feet, typically get pedicures biweekly). My nails were not shaped to my liking at all! The massage added onto the pedicure was great and just what I needed after three full days of walking in not-walking shoes, but the price was too high for what was given for the pedicure. Poor customer service and not a good enough mani/pedi to justify putting up with it. I got a polish change on my nails and toes because I was in a hurry and didn't have time for a full manicure and pedicure. I asked the nail tech to cut one toenail (no filing, literally just cut one nail) and she said "that will be one dollar extra." I don't mind spending the dollar but it just seemed petty to charge for that. I also paid extra for the quick dry on toes and fingernails and she still told me to sit in the dryer for 10 minutes. After sitting there for the full amount of time she suggested, my toes STILL got messed up. There's no way they used quick dry on my toes (started with toes, then did fingernails, then dried for 10 min). I'm so sad my favorite salon Top Nails on 86th closed.
