FAVORITE VEGAN RESTAURANT! If your contemplating coming here because you love meat, stop by - you won't be disappointed. I haven't found a great all vegan restaurant in the east bay until we came here. Our service all around was amazing from the host, server and manager. We had ordered crudités, Mac n cheese, mushroom steak salad and funghi sando. The mac n cheese was so delicious - you could not tell that it was all vegan. The mushroom steak salad was nicely tossed in bleu cheese dressing and loved the figs added. Lastly, the mushroom funghi burger was DELICIOUS - it was salty, sweet, crispy and spicy all at once. We had also ordered a couple cocktails and mocktails but everything was very watery and tart. I definitely don't recommend it. I can always count on a delicious, colorful, and seasonal vegan meal at Blossom & RootI wanted everything on the Starters section of the menu! For today's visit I opted for the Brentwood Corn Chowder and the special dish of the day, a bright & cheery Snap Pea salad. The Brentwood Corn Chowder was full of flavor. The vegan queso fresco & popcorn topping were perfect. As soon as our server shared the special, I knew I needed to order that as well. I love pea tendrils so that sealed the deal. Pea tendrils, ramps, and crunchy snap peas on a bed of English Pea hummus. I'll just need to return to try out those other Starters. Dessert was a peach-apricot sorbet and the texture was perfect. Service was also perfect. Our friendly server checked in on us, but was never intrusive. I had a few questions about some items on the menu and he was able to answer all of them. I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now, and it surely did not disappoint. The food was really good. They really know how to season their vegetables. We ordered the mushroom lattice cups and the mushroom steak salad, and it was amazing. We also tried the corn chowder, and it came with a slice of sourdough bread, and that was a fantastic starter as well. Service was great and attentive. The interior was really nicely decorated, and it had a really cozy feel to it. Exquisite dishes - beautiful and delicious. We went here with the whole family when my vegetarian daughter was in town visiting. We kicked off with grapefruit gin and tonic, mandarin mojito and blueberry basil refresher. My husband as older son had the smash "burger" and these two beef eaters loved them. Fantastic plant based meal in Danville!!!! We stumbled upon this place not knowing much about it and absolutely loved it! We are already planning our next visit. We are not vegan, but both pescatarian and my wife is dairy free, so this place worked great for us. We had the fresh bread with vegan cheese and butter appetizer, the fritters and my wife had the mushroom chowder, and I had the Funghi Sando. We finished the meal with the Oreo dessert. Just had an amazing birthday dinner at Blossom & Root! So nice to have something new and unique (and delicious) in Danville. We are spoiled in this town with great restaurants but this is our only vegan choice, and it's a great one. We are not Vegan but it is so nice to have the chance to try excellent vegan food. By the way we were more full leaving B&R than we are after leaving most restaurants- you definitely will not go hungry! The service was excellent - so helpful and warm and friendly. They even sent me a birthday cookie for dessert, which was incredibly delicious and such a nice gesture. We had the fritters and mac and cheese for apps, which were both really good and very filling. The fritters had a delicious sauce that made them very unique, and the mac and cheese was super creamy and rich. The mushroom chowder was AMAZING - i want to buy this buy the quart! Very hearty and earthy. Such good flavor and perfect on a chilly night. I def will come back for this for lunch with a salad. i had the mushroom sando and my husband had the burger - both were delicious and had amazing flavor. Both also very filling and satisfying. Have dined here 10+ occasions so I feel confident in a review. First, we love to support a plant based vegan establishment. The service and ambiance are excellent. The food is inventive and original. Portion sizes are perfect on main dishes. The price reflects the quality and is reasonable. Location is perfect; parking usually easy enough. So all 10s. (Afterwards, don't forget to pick up some high polyphenol olive oil next door - that place is also gem.) If there's a nit to be had, it's that the portion sizes for drinks and desserts is meager. For example the cobbler is a simple dish with cheap ingredients - there's no reason to offer such a tiny amount in a minute ramekin. (And pls bother to cook it - ours was served only semi-cooked on multiple occasions). The drinks are custom concocted (and taste perfect) but again, they are soo tiny (perhaps 4 ounces, less ice) that there's no point in ordering one. read more

Today was our first visit to Blossom and Root and it will not be our last. We visited for lunch today and I did make reservations since it was for a birthday celebration. Probably didn't need the reservations for a Thursday at noon because it was fairly quiet. Staff was absolutely lovely. Polite and wonderful to chat with and very prompt with service. The restaurant itself is very clean with cute decor and an overall great atmosphere. We ate on the front patio and the couches would be fantastic for a group of friends.to get together for appetizers and drinks. The food was absolutely amazing. Three of my family members are fully vegan and it is such a struggle to eat out sometimes especially if you want something other than a salad. So having an entirely vegan menu was a major treat. I was a little worried that my carnivore husband would be disappointed, but by the end of the meal he was saying it was the best thing he had eaten in a long time (he had the Funghi Sando). I was shocked and thrilled. The rest of us had the tofu bowl and it was amazing. The fried tofu was delicious and I don't think I have had broccolini ever taste so good. The "crab" cakes were also delicious although I can't compare them to regular crab cakes since I am allergic and haven't ever had real crab ones. My husband swears they were better than regular crab cakes. Dessert was also fabulous. The chocolate chip cookie is simple but so good. Crispy on top and gooey and soft inside. The Apple bread pudding was also top notch. Highly recommend at least one visit here. I am sure there are some hard core meat and potato eaters that might be disappointed, but I think even most non vegans would be very happy with a meal here. read more

Flavors pop and dishes I've had a million times, they somehow make them taste 10x better and with their own twist. Joe behind the bar is the absolute best!
