I only have two vegan friends so I'm always bringing my meat loving friends and crossing my fingers that they will be open minded enough to step foot into a vegan restaurant. I was excited to find a restaurant that's entirely vegan, tucked into a little complex full of Indian restaurants and shops. The vibe was cozy and cheerful. When we arrived there were a few other families dining; a server kindly showed us to our table, but another customer got upset about the seating and made a scene. I felt bad for the server -- if you have an issue with seating, please ask politely so staff can help. That brief incident did dampen my excitement, but I decided to focus on the food since a friend had recommended the place. Food-wise, this spot is worth a visit. The house rice claypot is a must-try -- I could have eaten that on its own, it was so flavorful. The jalapeño tofu was served hot and crispy; we ended up taking it home and it was perfect with naan. The vegan "fish" wasn't my favorite, though that might have been influenced by the order timing -- the rice arrived first, the fish came when the rice was almost gone, and the tofu showed up after we were mostly done. Service felt a bit slow or disorganized, which is understandable if they were short-staffed. Overall I enjoyed the food and would definitely come back to try more from the menu. Great to have an all-vegan spot in Pleasanton -- a few tweaks to timing and handling seating issues would make it even better. read more

It's quite nice to find this all vegan spot in an area that's no exactly known for vegans or vegan food. It's mostly Asian cuisine with some American desserts. So basically perfect. They don't take reservations but I went at 12:30 on a Friday with a group of 6 and had no problems getting a table. One of my friends brought her kiddo, and they offered her a highchair or a booster seat. Everything we ordered was super good. Nothing comes with rice so you have to pay $3 for a side of white rice or $4 for a side of organic brown rice. The brown rice was fancier than regular brown rice. It was like brown rice mixed with red rice. We ordered the following dishes: lemongrass chicken, spicy curry soy chicken, queens, a soup, spring rolls, avocado fresh rolls, and sweet and sour tofu. The chocolate cake looked so good so I really want to get that next time. They also have Thai iced tea which is hard to find vegan. read more

I love Vietnamese vegan food. I used to live in San Jose where there are a lot of great Vietnamese vegan spots, so I have high expectations. Since moving to the East Bay, the options are more limited. I had a craving and decided to try Blossom Vegan even though I am not vegan. I ordered the kelp noodle salad and it was really good. I liked the slight crunch of the noodles and it reminded me a bit of a poke bowl. The dressing was flavorful but light, and everything felt well balanced. I would definitely recommend this dish. I also ordered the spicy noodle soup, bun bo hue. This one was just okay for me. I have had vegan versions at other places where the broth had more depth and umami. This broth felt pretty light and did not stand out as much. My partner ordered the Chef Tasty's Treat, which is supposed to be similar to shaking beef, bo luc lac, but it really was not. It was basically fried cubes of soy protein without much flavor. Shaking beef should have a savory soy sauce style glaze, and this dish really needed some kind of sauce. I would not recommend this one. The restaurant is in a plaza and parking is a bit tight. Even with a couple of misses, I would still come back to try other dishes, especially after how much I liked the kelp noodle salad. read more

I'm not a fan of fake meats, but we had an out-of-town guest who's vegan, so we decided to give this place a try. I was pleasantly by several of the dishes. The place feels very homey, and the service was good. What we ordered: + Yum Yum vermicelli - this was really good with lots of raw veggies, like bean sprouts, cucumbers, and lettuce. The eggless roll was so good. It was light and flakey. The soy protein resembled beef and had a beef texture, but not beef taste. + Spicy Potato Curry - The potato and curry sauce was very good. It does not come with rice, but you can order that separately. + Spicy chacha - soy "shrimp" is battered and fried and sits on a bed of lettuce, cabbage and shredded carrots. + Sweet and Sour Savory - this reminds me of sweet and sour pork, but with soy protein instead. Flavor is good, but not a big fan of soy protein. Overall, the flavors are really good. I would stick to the veggies and tofu if you're not into soy protein like me. read more

I ordered way too much food! Here I am used to much smaller portions provided by Chinese restaurants in Oakland and thought I would have enough leftover for lunch tomorrow instead I will have enough left over for lunch dinner and lunch the next day. The curry dip was so good and it's so nice to get a vegan version of the platha, which isn't usually available at most restaurants that offer this. It was tender and flaky and chewy and delicious. These are really excellent portions. Heavy frying with thick batter but not overly doughy and I think that it will crisp fine in the toaster oven. I also got the Thai iced tea, which was delicious. Their food was average! Missing flavors! I will never go there. I had heard very good reviews about vegetarian food so decided to order food for gathering for Father's Day! They have really wierd rules which I have never any other restaurants doing. They automatically charged us for tip or gratuity for food pick up. I always do catering never paid tip unless they deliver it. I picked up food and still there was 10% tip charged, though we never sat in the restaurant or used their service then why tip? For doing nothing. Apart from that they charged us processing fees for CC payment of they had mentioned in advance I would carry cash to avoid that fee. Lack of communication skills. read more

Very yummy vegan foods and healthy at the same time, not too salty, sugary or spicy and the ingredients shine on their own. I just recently became vegetarian and now I seriously crave the dishes from Blossom Vegan. My top favorite dishes are N00-Bun Rieu, Yum Yum Vermicelli, and Mushu Mushu. The first two are Vietnamese and such an authentic delish. So nourishing and comforting at the same time. We tried Blossom Vegan after a day shopping the outlet stores down the road. There aren't a lot of vegan options in the Livermore/Pleasanton area, but this is a great choice. We ordered mushu mushu, raw kale drink, spicy potato curry, and sesame eggplant tofu. Everything was very good, I think the eggplant was the winner. Curry was not particularly spicy, we asked for medium, it seemed quite mild. The veggie rolls were an item I was happy I tried but probably would not order again. Kale juice was refreshing. I was in Dublin for some appointments this month and stopped by Blossom Vegan twice and it was very tasty as always. I truly enjoyed the pho and mushu mushu rolls. I have a very limited experience with this place. I showed up with a friend, who had placed a catering order. We were hosting a party for work, and making sure the vegan/vegetarians get awesome food as well that isn't just salad and bread. We went with this place. My friend placed her catering order a week in advance and decided to also have her lunch here. She enjoyed it very much. We ordered plenty of food for our vegan coworkers. When asked how it was, they loved the food. The workers there were also very nice, we were there to pick our order up and we did have to wait like 15 minutes extra for them to finish making the food. The yum yum vermicelli was delicious and large enough to feed a large man. The flavors were not too overpowering and structured with nuances of sweetness, tanginess and ends with muted spiciness in the throat. Everyone else really liked the food as well. The avocado wraps were really tiny but they were flavorful and fresh. Some of the other food were heavier in flavor and the styles were a fusion of Vietnamese and Chinese flavors. The was very tasty, especially the Spicy Fried Rice. I had to try because it had Tom Yum paste and ive been trying to find another place that makes a fried rice with Tom Yum. They definitely made it on the wok because you can see the sear on the rice and the taste of wok hei. The spring roll was crisp but expensive for $9 for being basically lettuce. The bun bo hue had a good amount of tofu but lacked flavor typically in bun bo hue. Service was OK, forgot about my sauce for a bit and when it came time ask for the check, he forgot to bring it and then we had to ask a second time. Fresh, flavorful, and delicious! I like how they put together a variety of asian cuisine in vegan. Probably more Vietnamese bc I saw several pho noodles on their menu, but there were some Chinese and Thai menus as well. I liked the vegetables were very freshly prepared, with a delicuous sauce that comes as a side so you can customize the level of seasonings. Vermicelli noodles with lemongrass was very refreshing. Peanut and some fried bits were crunchy and delicious. Soy chicken on the special menu came with a bedding of shredded zucchini, which was unique IMO and smart. We had the most amazing meals here tonight. We had a hard time deciding what to eat - it all looked so good!! We ended up ordering the Papaya Salad and the curry vegetables. The "jerky" on the top of the salad is everything that is right with vegan food. The only spicy bite was a slice of jalapeño on top. We added tofu to the curry vegetables and had a side of rice to soak up the amazing curry. We finished off dinner with the mango sticky rice. The service was prompt and friendly. There were at least 6 take out orders that were picked up while we were there - clearly a sign of amazing food. There was plenty of seating because the food comes out fast and piping hot. Tropical papaya salad: green papaya, carrot, fresh basil and soy "jerky" tossed with a vinaigrette dressing. This was the star the papaya salad was fresh and light, the "jerky" has a nice surprise. I've had a few other things on visits when I'm in this area and everything has been utterly delicious, but it's the Jalapeño Tofu that I think about and long for often. I'd come here all the time if I lived in the area. I had the flan for dessert - perfect texture, light flavor and not very sweet: I liked it. I'm not vegan or even vegetarian. Blossom's food is just awesome and full of flavor and having brought a vegetarian phobic friend here once, but who does like Asian food, they were won over.
