This was our first visit to Blue Bayou, and I was incredibly excited because dining here had always been on my Disneyland bucket list. Since reservations are so difficult to get, I felt lucky to finally celebrate my birthday there. I want to start by recognizing the wonderful host, Dani. They greeted us with such kindness and made us feel genuinely welcome. Dani was courteous, friendly, and set a great first impression. Unfortunately, that is where the Disney magic ended. After about a 10 minute wait, we were seated, and our server, Anny, introduced herself. From the very beginning, she seemed annoyed that she was serving us. She asked if we had any questions about the menu, but before anyone in our party even had a chance to respond, she simply walked away. We all looked at each other confused because she never gave us the opportunity to answer her question. Throughout our entire meal, we probably saw Anny only three times. It honestly felt like she did not want to be there. This is Disneyland, where guests expect friendly and attentive service, especially at one of the resort's signature restaurants. We were not expecting over the top service, just someone who seemed happy to be there, checked on us throughout the meal, and made us feel welcome. On the other hand, the gentleman who delivered our food was fantastic. He was warm, funny, and engaging. I wish he had been our server because his attitude reflected the Disney experience we were hoping for. Ironically, as soon as our meals were placed on the table, Anny stopped by to ask how everything tasted. Before we could even take a single bite, she walked away again. My daughter ordered the shrimp and wanted lemons, but after waiting about 15 minutes without seeing Anny return, we finally had to ask another waitress for help. In fact, we saw other servers throughout the restaurant far more often than we saw our own. As for the food, it was actually very good. I enjoyed the ribeye, the mashed potatoes were delicious, and the crab cakes were excellent. The kitchen definitely delivered. One final thing that stood out to our entire party happened as we were leaving the restaurant. After we had paid our bill and were walking out, we saw Anny pointing in the direction of our table while talking with another Cast Member. We have no way of knowing what the conversation was about, and it may have been purely coincidental. However, given the lack of warmth and attentiveness we experienced throughout our meal, it left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. It was an unfortunate way to end what we had hoped would be a special birthday celebration. I truly hope this was an isolated incident because Blue Bayou has such a legendary reputation, and I would hate for another family celebrating a special occasion to leave feeling the way we did. Unfortunately, our first visit did not live up to the experience we had waited so long to have. The food can be great, but service is what guests remember, and unfortunately, that is what made this visit so disappointing.

This feels like the nicest restaurant in Disneyland Park. Made a reservation and dined here for a birthday. When we checked in for 4, I requested a table by the water and they were able to accommodate immediately which was very nice. It's the best ambiance to sit by or near the water. Food was delicious (pricey but it's Disneyland): Appetizers - Bread $13 - would skip it. It's good but it's just soft bread. - Crab cakes $18 - delicious! Lots of crab and great flavor - Gumbo $12 - one of my favorite gumbos. I love ordering it here. Portion is a cup size though. Mains - Ribeye $59 - was my favorite main. Very big portion. It comes bone in but we got lucky and we had mostly meat and barely any bone. - Market fish $46 - this was a steelhead trout, good sized and tender - Roasted chicken $44 - also came with shrimp and rice and flavored heavily. Felt almost like a deconstructed jambalaya. We thought it was a bit too salty. Dessert - crème brûlée $10 - this was vegan and not bad but not good. We didn't like the bread shell it came it. Would skip it. - chocolate cake $13 - very rich and decadent We've been to other Disneyland restaurants for birthdays and they usually give us a small complimentary dessert but they didn't this time which was mildly disappointing. I believe it's up to the discretion of the restaurant / waiter but we've consistently have had complimentary birthday dessert at other places. They did put a candle into a cake but for a dessert the birthday person didn't order (someone else ordered it) so it felt awkward to take a photo and blow out the candle and then pass the dessert off. Server wished happy birthday multiple times nicely though.

Lucky enough to land a 150pm reservation. Check in was easy and quick. It was a very hot day and there was stroller parking near by and the waiting area was covered and cool. The menu was available via QR code to browse while waiting. Inside the atmosphere was perfect. The lighting was dim but fitting of the setting. The wait staff was so attentive my water glass literally never got lower than half and I was drinking fast. As I said it was a very hot day over 90 degrees. I ordered the ribeye it was cooked well and seasoned well. My wife and daughter split the pasta option and a cheese dip bread appetizer. My oldest daughter also grabbed a cocktail and she let me know it was delicious. I've only ever been here one other time many years ago and both times have been great. I highly recommend the experience if you manage to find an open reservation.

Such a fun experience to finally try Blue Bayou! Honestly, considering how hard it is to get a res, the experience of being inside the ride scene at Disneyland is pretty cool. Everything was good food-wise, but the drinks were a huge miss. The Blueberry cocktail at $19 was the worst tasting artificial syrup and popping boba style toppings i've ever seen. I love anything blueberry flavored but this sucked. Luckily the service was great. The 70th celebration pre fixe included Ribeye and Prawns, very tasty but only 2 prawns included felt cheap. The gumbo was fantastic, that really was the star of these southern themed Disney restaurants! The crab cakes were tasty and artichoke heart salad was yummy

Got a last minute lunch reservation, definitely need to book this place well in advance! Pirates was being refurbished at this time, so I think the inside was a bit bright than usual. The service was fantastic. Very attentive and good recommendations. The menu for lunch didn't have as much variety as I would've liked, but it was still good. Everything food wise was delicious. The crab cakes were probably my favorite item on the table though. Desserts looked good, but we didnt try any. Overall, 8/10 will be back!

Love this restaurant!! They are definitely not easy to get into so we made reservations way ahead of time and I was delighted! It had been a long time since I had dined there so the menu changed and has their French New Orleans themed cuisine! The food: eeeeveryone was talking about the monte cristo sandwhich so when I finally tried it, it did not disappoint! It was turkey, ham, Swiss cheese into this crunchy deep fried outside and you can dip in their blackberry sauce. It compliments the sandwich VERY well and very deliciously. For dessert we had the cheesecake that was very very good! It was the perfect amount of sweet and tart! The atmosphere? 1,000,000/10 that's a giant portion of the reason we come here right? How fun it is to be IN the pirates of the Caribbean ride while dining there! I swear I could hang out there all day there's something about the smell of pirates of the Caribbean water that I love lol Service was immaculate, very professional but with a smile and that is just disney for you always going out of there way to make you feel special. It is truly appreciated and always creates a wonderful experience for everyone! Would I return? Absolutely in a heartbeat. I saw some crab cakes and other yummy things I will love to try next time!

Finally was able to snag reservations. I've been wanting to try this place out. First of all the ambience is exactly what you think. Sitting near the Pirates ride. You can actually smell it. IYKYK! Food, & service, were ok. Ordered prime rib. Tasted ok. Nothing spectacular. Very pricey but portions were large. I think people come here more for the ambience. I'll still come back just for that.

    Jasmin S.

The pirates of the Caribbean ride is one of my fav rides and it's difficult to get a reservation for 2 at Blue Bayou. I recommend reserving whatever reservation is available and update the amount of people during your check in. I really enjoyed eating there and especially since they have alcoholic drinks.

Doing a little pub crawl for apps and drinks. Got the last walk! Always go up and ask. Don't just look at the app and think there are no tables. So we were here for apps and drinks so got the gumbo and crab cakes. Gumbo. Deep rich flavor. This is their thing so get some. Crab cakes were fresh and tasty. A cool place to get out of the heat but can be hard to get into. We actually took a chance and walked up and got the last walk up table! Overall the food was pretty good. Felt a little rushed with our first server but he went on lunch and our next one was much better.

You MUST make reservations to Blue Bayou weeks in advance, if possible. Of course, you might find a spot a day before if people cancel their reservations. We had the gumbo (large size), crab cakes, and the pasta and they were all delicious. FYI the large gumbo is off-menu and we didn't know about it until we saw a plate of it for an adjacent table. Crab cakes were chock full of crab, no filler. Onto the pasta, the sauce was really delicious, and with a little explosion of sweetness brought on by the teardrop peppers. The restaurant does not have a full service bar, however they do have pre-mixed cocktails. I had their version of an espresso martini and enjoyed it.

Kid's Meal - Whole Grain pasta tomato sauce, mashed & Rice for sides.

Was finally able to try the restaurant you stare at every time you launch into Pirates of the Caribbean: Blue Bayou inside Disneyland Park. The setting is undeniably cool - a faux moonlit backyard patio along the water with boats drifting by - and it usually takes a reservation if you actually want to eat at a decent time. We lucked out with a Sunday night walk‑in, but by the end of the meal I couldn't shake the feeling we might have eaten better (and cheaper) outside the park. We were celebrating our son's birthday, and while the acknowledgment was nice, they still charged for his ice cream, which felt pretty disappointing given the occasion and price point. What we ordered: * Prime Rib Dinner - Around $58 for a plate that tasted more salty than special. The sauce was overly salty, the portion felt small for the price, and both the mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies were heavy on the salt too. * Market Fish of the Day - Steelhead over flavored rice. This was the standout: good portion, cooked just right with a moist interior and a crisp exterior, and overall not too heavy. * Kids' Meal - Chocolate milk with whole grain pasta in tomato sauce. "Seasonal veggies" were just broccoli, and "seasonal fruit" was a single mandarin. Really? The mashed potatoes were the best part here: creamy and seasoned just right. With how expensive a Disneyland visit has become overall, this meal ended up feeling underwhelming for the cost and hype. The atmosphere delivers the nostalgia, but the food and value didn't quite live up to it this time.

Pro tip: call at exactly 6am PST the month before your desired visit. I've also seen people get same day reservations if there's availability and you're willing to wait. The staff are always so kind and especially attentive as a Disneyland resort restaurant. Being immersed in the ride makes for a romantic, river boat feel that takes visitors to a new little world inside the park. I'd especially recommend a visit for the 70th anniversary prix fixe meal. $89 for a three course meal that was delicious and very filling for a busy day at the park. The meal includes a hearty salad of baby greens, artichoke hearts, heirloom tomatoes, croutons, and cucumbers with a zesty lemon-ranch dressing. The entree is a delicious Ribeye Steak with shrimp with a rich garlic butter. For dessert, a very shareable chocolate pistachio cheesecake. It was a the perfect ratio of chocolate to the nutty, crunchy texture of the pistachio cream. It was such a fun meal and the staff are so helpful with questions about drink pairing or any other questions!

Excellent. 5* for the food, ambience and the service. It was 9pm. We just got off the ride. Curious and wondering how on earth to get into this place, we waited in line and surprised!!!, she said, they can take walk in at the moment. We have been trying to get in here for years. Matthew. Our server. Such a nice, friendly and attentive person. What we ordered; Crab cakes. Delicious. Love the baby arugula salad with a light dressing. Prime ribs. The broccolini is a bit too charred, mashed is perfect. Gumbo. A bit too salty but packed with flavor. Really good. Matt recommended to splash some Tabasco. Even better. Chicken dinner. Tender juicy chicken, pilaf or rice? Plumpy shrimps. True, just like a Jambalaya. Perfect to end the day. Happy time, happy tummy. Thanks. Hope to be back soon.

Ask the Community - Blue Bayou Restaurant

Can I eat at the blue bayou without purchasing a ticket to Disneyland?

Unfortunately no, the only access is from inside the park.

Can someone over the age of 9 order off the children's menu? I have a very picky older kid but don't want the rest of us to miss out on the experience.

I don't think that would be a problem. They are very accommodating.

Is there a waiting list I can sign up for?

You need to try to grab a reservation 60 days in advance OR go to the host and ask if there are any cancellations. They’ll guide you through if there are any.

Does someone know what the little red things are on the arugula salad in the ribeye? They were delicious and forgot to ask our server

I think they're sweety drop peppers!

What time do thet start serving dinner? Trying to book reservations and some afternoon hours are listed...would like to get dinner so need to know what time to book.

After 5 pm I believe!!! If you get an afternoon spot, take it. You can always go up to them at the host stand and ask them to seat you for dinner ( before your reservation). Last week, they didn't accept any walk ups and reservations only. So…

I've noticed most spots at Disney take apple or android pay. Does the blue bayou now accept these payments?

Apple Pay is currently offered at most Quick Service Restaurants, retail locations, and kiosks throughout Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, and it's even accepted at many locations in the Downtown Disney District. Currently, Apple…

Is jambalaya on the menu ? I seen someone had it 15 days ago but when I go to the menu it doesn't have it listed. We go at the end of March.

The did not have it when we went in February.

How do I sign up for the mouse watchers notification?

Sign up on the mouse watcher website

Do they still sell the glowing Tinkerbell or the glow cube for the kids drinks? Thank you!

As of October 26, they only had the normal flashing cubes and the poisoned apple cubes.

How can I make a reservation for Nov 2nd or 4th it shows no availability? I've been trying for a couple of days now and it won't let me :(

Since the previous answers are just telling you "sorry out of luck". This isn't the case. Sign up for a Mouse Watcher notification for the dates you want to go. It's $5 and worth every cent. You'll get a notification once a reservation for Blue…

Do you offer the rosemary bread?

I’ve dined twice since Blue Bayou reopened after the pandemic. Bread service is not provided at this time. You may also notice that while prices are the same, portion sizes for some dishes are smaller than they used to be.

Has anyone been here recently. I cannot get a reservation even though the dates are open?

We were there in January and we were able to do walk up and only waited 10 min or so

Can I call to make a reservation?

Reserve on the Disneyland app or website 60 days before you plan to dine. Be online at 6:00 a.m. on the 60th day as reservations vanish quickly once they open up for a given day.

Is this restaurant inside disney? Should I have a ticket for Disney land to get in the restaurant? Or is this outside without buying the ticket?

It's inside Disneyland (inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride to be exact). You will need a park ticket to dine here. During the pandemic, it's also best to also have a reservation that is made 60 days out in advance.

I made a reservation to celebrate my daughters birthday and also did the add on Mickey cake but noticed in the reviews that there may be a Mickey dessert available. Didn't see on the menu. Is that something that can only be ordered there? Thx!

I did not see the Mickey on the menu, I know they no longer serve bread because of Covid. I would check before going.

Does the Blue Bayou offer a nonalcoholic version of the Hurricane off the menu?

I'm sure they will make it for you and be sure to ask neon ice cube it makes it look so good!

Does blue bayou still five complimentary bread?

    No, not at this time.

Do they still have the lamb?

I didn't see it on the menu last time I was there, a couple months ago.

    Do they do walk ins?

Most likely no. BUT if you arrive exactly at opening time they may have some cancellations. They do accept online reservations up to 90 days in advance on the Disney app. You can keep checking for last minute cancellations on there as well.

Do they take walk in for lunch or dinner ?And when is best time to do walk in when it's least busy? I even tried booking 60 days in advance and nothing is available seriously!!! And I have been trying for longest time and different timing of the day!

Use Mouse Watcher, for this and Oga's. Even with this in a week I've only seen one reservation for Blue Bayou come up, you bet I snagged it!

I was expecting the usual garlic noodles I get from Asian restaurants, but this had such a unique flavor. Garlicky and cheesy, with some cajun flavors. Was it spicy? Not at all. I've driven past Hot N Juicy Crawfish in Fountain Valley many times but never stopped in until now…read more We were looking for a happy hour that ran into the evening, and their 3-7 PM happy hour was exactly what we needed. There were five of us and were seated immediately on a Wednesday at 530pm. We ordered the Cajun fries, mozzarella sticks, shrimp po'boy, catfish po'boy, green mussels, no-head shrimp, fresh clams, and frozen crawfish (they were out of fresh crawfish and étouffée). Everything was so good that we ordered a second round of almost everything again but with black mussels and head-on shrimp. The head-on shrimp was definitely better than the no-head shrimp. Everything was coated in the Hot N Juicy seasoning, and it was delicious. My favorite was the fresh clams--they were a great size, packed with flavor, and had a subtle sweetness that paired perfectly with the seasoning. The head-on shrimp was my second favorite, followed by the mussels. The frozen crawfish was surprisingly good, but I'm looking forward to trying the fresh crawfish next time. The Cajun fries were tasty, but the portions are small, so we ended up ordering two baskets. The mozzarella sticks were just okay and not something I'd order again. Several of us ordered margaritas (I had the mango), but I wouldn't recommend them. They come in a tall glass instead of a traditional margarita glass and tasted more like a soju-based cocktail than a margarita. Service was decent, but a little slow considering the restaurant wasn't very busy. Overall, the food exceeded my expectations, and the happy hour prices make this a great value. I'll definitely be back for the fresh crawfish and, especially, the clams!

I visited this establishment for evening rations after Sunday evening church service…read more I was seated rather promptly. I asked for "wooder" to drink and it had a rather strong taste of chlorine. Because of the chlorine taste I am dinging this establishment one point. I ended up ordering Dr. Pepper and got free refills. I really wish Pepsi would have been available. I ordered the Catfish Basket which had four pieces of catfish and French Fries. The food was tasty but I really should have ordered the catfish without any spices. Men's washroom was clean but lacked paper towels so I am dinging this establishment one point for that. As far as personal appearance of the employees is concerned I am glad to see the guys wore their t shirts tucked in which I consider to be professional. I did notice one of the employees wore Black Levi's. At the conclusion of my visit I was given a peppermint and a little moistened hand towel which I thought was a nice touch. If I was to assign a letter grade as is done in school this establishment would be in there solid with a C.
