Shout out to Paul J. for putting on a great UYE...humpy hour, I rejoice! Tara W. and I walked from our apt because we knew it was going to be one those nights, you know......drink sweet tea and vodkas until my vision doubles, just another Wednesday night. HA! On to the review....Sweet Tea & Vodkas...my new favorite drink in Sacramento, and talk about service! The owner came over and bought everyone a round, we went around the circle, "Sweet Teas ALL AROUND!" Nice....!!! The food was pretty good as well. We snacked on the bbq chicken sliders and the mac n' cheese. The sliders were tender with a great bun accompanying the chicken and the mac n' cheese had a really nice breadcrumb topping. Totally a fan of Thrifty Thursdays. Came with a group of people to enjoy "$3 You Call Its" (any mixed drink you want!!!!) and $5 pizzas. Great deal! They had music, but you didn't have to dance. They have billiards if you want to play, couches to catch up with friends, jut generally a very low key, casual bar. I had fun :) Will be back again! read more

Officially removed from my "Best Happy Hour" list is this place. THE SERVICE IS TERRIBLE! LET ME REPEAT - THE SERVICE IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!! See, its one thing if the place was packed, but there were literally under 10 people in the entire place including our group of 5. We went there last night because Blue Cue's website (www.bluecue.com) specifically says there is "Tuesday night from 8-10pm $2.00 Chicken Tacos, $2.00 Domestic Drafts and $3.00 Premium Drafts". We arrived 10/18/11 at 6:45pm and their normal "Happy Hour" on this day is until 7pm. So, we all ordered a drink each and some food before it ended & started playing pool. When it neared 8pm (when the Tuesday night specials were scheduled to start, I had asked the bartender what exactly the "late night happy hour" was. This girl gave hella' attitude swearing up and down they DO NOT DO ANY NIGHTLY HAPPY HOURS on Tuesdays. She rudely further explained she has worked there for two years and there has NEVER EVER been a late night happy hour on Tuesdays. So, being there was no specials, I purchased another round of drinks at full price & went back to our pool table & re-looked up the website on my phone to clearly see there are specials on Tuesday from 8-10pm so I went back to the bartender and showed her the phone and this MOTHER F-ING BEEZY has the nerve to say something like "oh, well you said HAPPY HOUR and technically its not a happy hour, its just late night specials" OH HELL NO! So, either 1) she's stupid because she worked there for two years and still doesn't know the specials; or 2) she was purposely trying to be manipulative because I did not use the correct phrasing of "happy hour specials vs. late night specials". Either way, that is terrible customer service. I'm pretty sure this is the same lazy bartender I received service from in my review from one year ago 10/17/2010. I am very disappointed that Blue Cue has not done anything to improve their customer service after so many continual complaints about their horrible service. My hope is Paragary Group is able to re-evaluate the current "customer service staff" as we were certainly not provided with any customer service last night. Hopefully, then Blue Cue will be brought up to par with the rest of the Paragary restaurants we all love so their great reputation is not tarnished by careless workers. read more

I could have sworn that I had already written a review for Blue Cue... well, last night's CMYE event is definitely an excuse to write one now. Last night I got to try a bit of everything that Blue Cue has to offer - beer, bites and balls (had to do it). I love a good IPA so I was happy to find Racer 5 on tap. Our community manager, Alex L, ordered a few appetizer plates for us all to snack on (thanks Alex!) and everything was super tasty. There is good selection of classic bar foods - wings, poppers, nachos, along with a few burgers and pizzas on the menu. I really want to go back to try the steak sandwich and the mac and cheese, both sound delicious! After a few beers and stuffing our faces with all of those yummy appetizers, we decided to play some pool. There are only a few pool tables so you might have to wait to snag one but luckily Blue Cue has some yummy snacks and drinks to entertain you while you wait. read more

New Ownership! Ok so we used to go to Blue Cue for trivia night but we gave up after trying quite a few dishes and found them all to be rather gross. Then a couple of weeks ago I saw they were doing burger and a beer for $7 and figured we should give it another try. My gal ordered the chili nachos and we were both pleasently surprised! Both were super tasty! I met the new owner while I was there, he was a nice guy and has already made quite a few improvement to the place including new TV's and new specials. Went back and tried the $2 tacos and $2 shots of Jack that they do on Tuesdays and was not disapointed! I'm really looking forward to checking this place out for football season! read more

This place makes me realize that I am getting old. Ended up having drinks here on a Second Saturday recently and I think I can still hear the thumping bass of the awful music ringing in my ears. We couldn't even really have a conversation. The drinks we had that night were strong (a plus) but our server looked to be about 19, had the personality of a wet blanket and was in dire need of a sandwich. With the amount of cleavage she had showing I would assume she's getting tipped pretty well, so I'm not sure why she wouldn't run downstairs and at least grab a taco...or a stick of gum for that matter. There were folks playing pool at the tables next to us, and there was a large group of people wearing diamond encrusted flags hanging around their neck and velour sweatsuits and such so it wasn't necessarily my crowd. Actually for a minute I thought I was maybe in a Big Pun video, but then I remembered that he died in 2000 and that just put a damper on the whole evening right there. Well maybe not the whole evening. Anyway I have been here a couple of other times and the only thing that has been consistent was that their Fat Tire is always warm. And I'd like to make a quick Public Service Announcement to say that Fat Tire warm is a travesty. It's like dipping rancid, yeasty, soggy biscuits in water and I am not a fan. I've been here a handful times and am just not crazy about it! I've had food there, drinks and played pool. The food is super mediocre, it tastes one step above Wendy's or Jack in the Box. Super pricy for what it is. I have gotten mixed drinks and beer and would suggest sticking to just beer at the Blue Clue. The mixed drinks are extremely watered down and not worth the price. The pool of course is fun, but honestly you can play pool anywhere. Although this bar is conveniently located, I would suggest other places before coming here. read more

Came here last bight and the bar tender was putting other peoples orders on my tab... I had only ordered a few things and I was handed the huge bill. The bartender told me to figure out who's it was (he was assuming it was other people from our groups -but none of it was)and he was super rude... i reviewed it and told him what was mine and told him to figure out who the other charges go to. Turns out it was another bartender putting some random persons stuff on my tab- and they had left. So he recharged me BUT now I have to see if the refund goes through or not because he didn't give me a refund receipt. When I asked for it he said " I don't have it" and he said it should settle tonight- well it hasn't. Never once did he say sorry... And our group combined dropped several hundred dollars. The bartender that opened today was very rude. We went there for my fiances niece's 21st bday. We asked if they had bday drinks/shots. The bartender sexually harrased the bday girl by offering to do a body shot. Next he served us flat beer and flat soda. When I told him the soda was flat he said "ya we just opened...its going to be flat". Next my fiance asked for a water and the bartender asked "is that your dad?" Referring to me. When we decided to close out, he charged us for flat soda, flat beer, fake beer, an hour of shuffle board even though we only played 15inutes and left cause he was rude. We only took a sip of beer and flat soda. My fiance, our designated driver, was not drinking so its not like we were drunks at a bar. The final straw was that I did not tip the bartender and as I was walking out and he saw the no tip receipt, he said "hey thanks for that tip, I appreciate it". Needless to say I had some choice words for him. He deserves to be fired!! read more

I hadn't been to Blue Cue in a while when I was invited to the Red, White, and Blue! VIP event. It was held early in the evening in the middle of the week, so my perception of the place is a little skewed. The place looks good, it has been remodeled since I was there last. Sleek, clean, with a more open feel than I remembered. They still have pool tables, tall bar tables and a centrally located bar. The event boasted the Cue's happy hour pricing. $3 PBR, $4 beers, $5 well drinks and glasses of wine. They have some good food too! Chorizo and shrimp skewers, sliders, tomato/basil/mozzarella skewers... and their dessert! Apple pie with vanilla ice cream, sooo good! The service at the bar was good, bartenders were friendly, and the waitresses were sweet. I'd like to come back on a Friday or Saturday night to see what this place has to offer. read more

Blue cue has sneakily become one of my more frequented bars in Midtown. It is a hybrid of sports bar (lots of TV's and NFL package), pool hall (4 pool tables), karaoke (with a live band), frat party (XOSO flip cup/beer pong mid-week madness), and club (DJ's on weekends). Keeping all of that in mind, your experience will depend heavily on which day you go but it will always be a good time. It is a large space which makes it great for groups to congregate on a weekend and enjoy some drinks when other places may be too packed. The location is also pretty solid, if you are over it you can quickly get to some other venues close-by. read more

So I'm here on a Sunday night (and here for the first time since they changed ownership) and it's dead. Okay, whatever, it's probably because it's Sunday and most people work on Mondays. Right? It can't be because the bar and tables were disgusting. That nothing was cleared and half drunken glasses, half eaten plates of food, and dirty napkins were all over. And it definitely wasn't the bathrooms where somebody before me was either on their period or needed to go to the hospital ASAP. I used to frequent this place when it was still owned by the Paragary Restaurant Group but I can't say I'll be coming back any time soon. First time here to catch up with some friends...interesting place. It is upstairs and the pool tables are far too close together for any serious gaming but I guess it brings people in. If you actually book the pool tables near the couches don't expect to sit on them or you will get your eye poked out or poke out someone else's with the pool cue stick! I ordered a margarita for myself and a pitcher for my friends and it was $33.00!!! I gave the bartender $40.00 figuring we would be there a couple hours playing pool. He showed up 15 minutes later with a pitcher of watered margaritas and took the time to tell me in front of my friends "BTW I undercharged you but since you thought you left a tip, I will use that"...Seriously? ??? Awesome location located in downtown/midtown sacramento. Clean restrooms (even though their hard to navigate to) lol Multiple good quality pool tables, decent sized upstairs patio. Location is UPSTAIRS. So make sure you can take the hike up and down the stairs!! Good selection of music, slightly expensive drinks, but the vibe was worth it. Doesn't get OVERLY crowded. read more

If you asked me two years ago if I'd ever give Blue Cue a 5-star rating, I'd probably say you were out of your mind. But people change... I'll be upfront and honest that part of my rating is influenced by my former involvement with XOSO, which chose Blue Cue as the league bar for its dodgeball nights when I used to play. The fact that this establishment was willing to set up beer pong tables is cool enough, but then to offer discounted drinks on top of all that. Now that's impressive and it leads me to my first point: 1. Blue Cue's management is cool. They're willing to work with groups of various sizes and purposes to make sure you all have fun. They've been more than accommodating to me and my friends when we organize the occasional pub crawl. 2. Blue Cue's staff are awesome. The bartenders remember you and they're fun to talk to/drink with. 3. Pool tables that suck less than R15. I feel like the tables are getting a bit rattier, but they're still pretty good. Plus, I actually like renting tables by the hour. 4. Outdoor patio on the 2nd floor. Spy on the people at Red Rabbit, chain smoke, do whatever. It's nice that it's there. 5. Kitchen is open fairly late. Well, you've already spent the last several hours here tossing ping pong balls, shooting pool and discounted shots.... might as well grab a few tacos and call it a day. 6. I now live much closer. The rating for Blue Cue can really vary, depending what you consider it to be. As a place to get food, it's probably a 2. As a place to watch sports....still a 2. But as a bar, it's just fine. The space is a little awkward I admit; it feels as though they never quite decided just exactly what they wanted to be. But their pool tables are in good shape, and with 4 of them it's not impossible to get a table. They charge by the hour, as opposed to some places like Alley Katz and Monkey Bar, where you pay $1 in quarters per game. They also have nice TVs around the bar, which is nice when you're shooting pool, but not so great if you go with some friends to watch football games, as you may have to spread out to see your games (with that said, if it's not crowded they're very accommodating about moving the games around). The bar is stocked with a good variety of liquors and beers, and I have yet to order something that I felt was unreasonably priced. A pint will run you somewhere between $3 and $6, depending what you get, and they also offer pitchers. They have joined the trend of offering a PB&J (Pabst and a shot of Jamison) for $5, which is a pretty good deal. The bartenders themselves are really friendly. I go pretty much every week, and when I get tired of a drink they have whipped me up something new, and I haven't been disappointed. Yes, there is beer pong some days/nights. Wednesday and Thursday nights the sports/social league XOSO comes here after their games. So if you wonder why there's a bunch of people wearing matching t-shirts....now you know. :) The food is pretty standard bar food. Their tacos are one of my favorites, and on Wednesday nights you can get 2 for $4. The pizzas are also good, but cost about $8-10, which considering the size of them isn't exactly a bargain. All in all, it's a pretty good place if you're just looking for a bar. read more

I've been to Blue Cue twice. Both times were pretty much the same caliber. The DJ was alright except they seriously need to stop using the iTunes visualizer. I mean, honestly, that's really lame. Anyone can do that. My 5 year old cousin can use the visualizer! Drinks are a little pricier than I'd like so I just stuck with $4 bottles of beer. The scene is a little awkward just because they try to mix pool with a dance/lounge area. It's no big deal if you don't really care about that kind of thing. The outside patio is nice with benches and tables, and is a good place to chill when it gets too muggy inside. They are sticklers for keeping the guy/girl ratio intact. My 2nd time going there, I was the first to meet the bouncer at the top of the stairs. He said it was $5, so I paid, but my friends, seeing the exchange of money, didn't want to pay a cover and turned around to bounce. The bouncer, seeing 7 people leaving, immediately asked how many were in the group. Once he found out we had 8 people, 4 guys and 4 girls, he summoned us all into the club without having anyone pay a cover. The cashier nicely returned my $5 to me. I really appreciated that. Overall, it's a pretty ok place. It's not a super swank lounge and it's not a dive bar. I think the place has an identity crisis but it kind of works. read more

Blue Cue circa 2000: if you can imagine Centro Cocina Mexicana being a McDonalds on the corner of 28th and J, Blue Cue is the kids' Playland upstairs. Adults in one location, children in another. Yes, you may take that analogy to its furthest extent. Blue Cue 2010: all adults playing in a beautifully decorated, upscale lounge that features billiards, tasty treats, daily drink and food specials and comfortable surroundings. Other changes I noticed: -pool tables on one side of the venue; sleek, leather couches and high-top tables on the other. I think this works. One side for sport and strategy, the other for mixing and mixology. -a rooftop patio. Perfect for Sacramento. Not just for smokers but anyone who wants to take in the night air. -solid staff and dedicated new ownership. I was privy to insider information and observed the owners working the crowd, welcoming newcomers and attending to details. I liked their passion. It all starts at the top and I think they give Blue Cue a lot of potential. So, change has come to Playland. And it's definitely for the better. read more

I'm an LA girl. . . I came out to this place w/my cousin and his friends the last night I was in town. . . Granted I was already buzzing, but there were a few things that soured this place. Yes, I'm from LA, but that doesn't mean jack! I'm pretty friendly, like to talk to just about anyone, but most of all, I'm down for a good time - and I want everyone else to have a good time too. I may be from LA, Hollywood may be my backyard, but that doesn't mean that I don't like to pay for MY OWN drinks. . . stupid bartender kept putting drinks on whatever tab he felt like. Not that I'm complaining, but. . . The few times that I went to the bar to order a drink, I got passed over for the guy behind my shoulder that had just walked up - and to the other people that were right beside me by the bar. Chauvinist. When I/we finally ordered drinks, I tried to pay for it, and the bartender would say, "Oh. I already put it on his tab," indicating the guy I was standing next to - thank GOD he didn't mind (or at least didn't show it). But I still felt bad. The music was bumping, there was no dance floor, the lights were dim so people kept knocking into each other, there's pool tables, but for the life of me I can't figure out how anyone was REALLY playing. The drinks were semi-flowing, but the bartenders were a-holes - for what reason? I'm still trying to figure that out. Oh yeah. And there was a cover. A freakin' cover. Really. Is that necessary?? ($5 per person - male or female) It isn't like they're not making money off of drinks or rounds of pool. But on second thought, the bartenders are slow, so maybe they're not making $$ fast enough? I AM SOLD! Came here for the first time on a Saturday night. Just looking for a chill place to grab a drink with a girlfriend. Was I in for a treat! Reasons why I love this place: 1) Pool tables, rented by the hour, that actually have ALL balls accounted for and pool sticks are in good shape 2) Friendly, quick, and legit bartenders. No bull- just drinks! 4) Cheap drinks! Beers: 4.50, shots: 5.00. Not bad! 5) Good music! About 11 pm- live DJ starts up with sweet mixes of hip hop, electric, and oldies. I like it! But my favorite part? Wait for it... 6) Cougars and HOOD RATS!! Yes, you read this correctly. I don't think I've had such an awesome night of people watching for a while. My girlfriend and I had a pool table to ourselves for 3 hours. We got progressively drunker and had a riot just watching the crowds passing us by. One girl had EPIC boobie leakage (you know.. when you have your shirt unbuttoned too low, and your boob starts flowing out the middle?) and she had to grab a fistful and shove it back in- all while sipping on her blue cocktail (classsyy). I have a friend that frequents this place bc he lives close by and loves the wings. I will say we have enjoyed the wings and the pizza here, so kudos to that. Otherwise the 2 stars is for the drinks and service. The bartender was horrific. He was not personable and he butchered a gin and tonic. How do you butcher a gin and tonic? I don't know. My friend who is obviously over 21 was visiting out of town had his license but it had just expired. The bartender gave him such a hard time about it. He may have been following the rules, but as someone that worked many years in the service industry the bartender lost of party of 8 people that would have spent good money on drinks that night. Luckily we went left and had a much better time somewhere else. My husband also mentioned that the men's bathrooms were disgusting, unkempt and had an overwhelming smell of urine. read more

I didn't know this place existed until my roommate brought me here after his XOSO dodgeball game. It's upstairs above Barwest. They have a couple of pool tables but the best part is Thursday night when you can buy a pitcher of beer and play beer pong, flip cup, rage cage, you know the drill. The food is surprisingly good and very cheap. Of you have a XOSO card or a friend who has one you can get a discount off food and drinks. Not bad at all. The bartenders are all very cool and will get to you pretty fast so tip them well. This place is a great place to hang out during the week day rather than the weekend. Strangely there are tons more people here on Wednesdays and Thursdays than I've seen on a Saturday night. I like this place. Great atmosphere all around with a variety of music being played. Also the jumbo projector really helps if you're looking for a place to watch your game. read more

I was iffy about Blue Cue for a while. I was always weary of whether the crowd would be fun or weird. I had been ignored at the bar before and had to shove through crowds. The high point of my prior Blue Cue experience was singing along with a live karaoke band one Friday night - SO fun! That was until it became the league bar for the Xoso Dodgeball league I play in. On Wednesday & Thursday nights, when the crowd is mostly endorphin-powered Dodgeballers, the Cue never disappoints. I've gotten a chance to get to know the bartenders better (big ups to Albert & Scott!!), and they are really chill. Their bbq chicken pizza, tacos, and mac & cheese are all super tasty and their draft beer selection is pretty good! You will likely catch me here every Wednesday night, regardless of whether I'm playing dodgeball that season! read more

All the pool tables for taken up, the bar and lounge area had plenty of customers (over 30 crowd). Plenty of televisions to keep up with your sports and good music blaring over the speakers! Nice bartender who offered us happy hour prices on drinks during non happy hours times! Much better than hard times...... I'll be back more often! I'm not from Sacramento, so maybe I'm not trendy enough to hate this place. The space is great, the food is surprisingly good, and the staff are amazing. Don't like the music? I'm certain the staff would help you out if you ask! The drink prices are slightly less or comparable to other Sac bars and hotspots, but BC also frequently has specials and discounts that make them way under standard local price. I hosted an event here a few months ago, and the owner was completely down to earth and super helpful. He gave me tons of options and was always accomodating and easy to work with. This is in signifcant contrast to other similar locales I approached, where the owners were pretentious "I'm not willing to discuss drink specials for your event because our drinks are artfully crafted and it would be disrespectful to the art" (yes, an owner said this to me) or just didn't seem to care "yeah, you can have an event here I guess, but I'm not changing anything or providing anything for the fee you'll pay." Overall, a low-key but not dive place where there's things to do (darts, pool, smoking patio) and you won't be shamed for not being trendy enough. Would rather go here to hang out pretty much anywhere else in the neighborhood. read more

This place just needs to figure out what it's trying to be. Blue Cue...yet 2 pool tables. Yet it's listed as a pool hall in the yelp category? Do not go here if you'd actually like to play. This place is a curiosity at best. Blue neon light theme, very metro decor, looks like it could be a dance club. Problem is, no real room to dance, and nobody really seems to be aside from a couple of very sloshed cougars (who seem to make up a fair amount of the patronage). Well, too bad nobody is dancing, as they just blast that music away so that nobody can actually interact with each other, or the bartenders for that matter. Can't really play pool, can't really dance...and to boot the drinks are small and largely overpriced (poorly made in some instances as well). They do seem to draw a solid crowd in there. Definitely a slightly different crowd than what you'll see in most of the nightlife locals in the city. Again, too bad that the crowd itself seems to make it difficult (at best) to actually play on the 2 pool tables there...if you can even get a chance to play them. Nothing on the 35+ people out there, I'd like to think I don't ever really have age issues for those older or younger than me when I'm out and about. But I just felt really outnumbered and young in this place each time I've been there. It's an odd feeling to say the least. Guess this place really caters to the downtown business crowd, or some such. So overall...been here 3 times, and that's that, not getting dragged up there again. I'll have a nice dinner at Centro's and then go find someplace where you can actually enjoy yourself. They get one star for the staff, who seemed pretty on the ball and courteous. They (politely) escorted out a few people who were too gone to put a lid on it, and take good care of the pool tables that they do have there. I read below that someone organized an event there, and it went well....that might work out nicely, if it was a small event. BLue Cue is another Paragary's establishement. SO needless to say, I almost NEVER go there. But Teusdays, they are the exception. They are one of the few to have a taco teusday. And what a fine tesuday it turns out to be when I oblige my stomach with their chicken crunchy tacos! Oh my crispy goodness!! So crunchy is the shell, so moist is the chicken, so delicious and mild is the salsa and so slightly tangy is the cheese. Only $2 and a lot more filling than those street tacos that everybody else serves. The bar on teusday is prettty much empty- even better to escape from the normal jackassery or DBs that hang here on a popular night. ANd the music is not thaaat bad... I've been to Blue Cue on numerous occasions - who knows why I keep coming back? After last Thursday I'm pretty sure my friends and I won't be back. There are better bars with better bartenders and better prices in Sacramento. Long story short, well drinks were supposed to be $4 and drafts $3 that night. When I went back for a second drink I wanted to make sure I was getting the right price. I ordered a beer and was like, wells are $4 and beers are $3 right? He basically said I could argue with you all night about the price and you won't find another bar in town with well prices that low. I started listing names of bars with cheaper well drinks (although I started with Faces because you can get wells for 75 cents) and he immediately said, "well, that's a gay bar." Whatever. Peace out Blue Cue. You should send some of your bartenders to customer service training. The Cue is definitely tarnishing the Paragary's brand. read more

Went here tonight for the Red, White and Blue event. Free food was a plus but I was not pleased that the disclaimer of "no plus one will be allowed" was false. Everyone that came was coupled up or with a group so I was not able to meet other Yelpers. This had nothing to do with the establishment so I will attempt to remember this while reviewing Blue Cue. Pros: Chic, decent priced drinks and specials. Cons: The dj/music selection tends to be very top 40 minus r&b or hip hop. This place is pretty much a let down. They've won for best billiards for multiple years in a row from the Sacramento news and review. But this place only has four very worn pool tables. The bartender was nice enough and she reminded me that not to get any food or drink near the pool table because there would be a $250 charge for spillage. We got there at four when it opened. And it was kind of hard to find the pool cues. They are camouflaged to blend in with a support beam. We ordered happy hour appetizers. The appetizers are six bucks from 4 to 7 PM as long as you don't pick the sampler. We ordered the buffalo chicken wings and also the smoky barbecue chicken wings and got six of each flavor, we ordered the cheese quesadilla, and also the mozzarella sticks. The wings only came with ranch and the Buffalo ones were not as good as the smoky barbecue ones. The three cheese quesadilla was good but it was hard to get the guacamole and sour cream on the quesadilla. The salsa looked unappetizing, but I bravely dared to taste it, I spit it out into a napkin and immediately drink some beer. I'm glad I did not read redeem the check in an offer for chips and salsa. The mozzarella sticks were good and they came with marinara. Another bummer about this place is the temperature inside the bar. It felt like the air conditioner was on when I first came in, but unfortunately it didn't feel that way one hour in. There are no fans above the pool tables only in the main bar area and the side lounge area. There is an upstairs deck that's open air that you can go out for a smoke. It was too warm to continue to stay and play pool. If you still do decide to go here, go during happy hour, and get the Groupon before you go so you're not paying full price. The beer selection was lacking the only decent choice was Deshutes fresh squeezed IPA. I got the large one for 8.50. They also do sodas for 2.50 and they are bottomless. read more

I don't think I've ever used the word "posh" while describing a pool hall/bar- so tip of the cap to you on that feat, Blue Cue. Blue Cue is cool venue upstairs over Centro. The bar and lounge has a posh feel, with beautiful granite counters on the bar and at the tables, and upscale couch seating for that VIP corner feel. Across from the lounging area are the pool tables. From the times I've been there, it seems like the bar/lounge attracts the midtown professionals, the hospital workers, and the generally upper-middle class types. The pool area attracts the regulars, the college kids and the casual crowd. And inbetween there is the random sprinkling of jock types from nearby BroWest. Despite the large variation of patrons, the crowd is cool and everyone's there to have a good time. I've always had a good or better experience with the staff and have never had to wait very long for a drink. So come on up, grab a drink, play a round of pool, and relax on a couch near the windows and people-watch the block of bars below. read more

Very lively, lots of TVs and 4 pool tables. Food is reasonable and staff is very friendly. There are often large crowds of Xoso sports and social league people drinking on weekdays if you like flip cup or beer pong. read more

I came across Blue Cue through a Yelp Elite event and I can say that I would consider coming back for their happy hour. They have $ 3 beers and if you check in through yelp, you get free chips and salsa. I was actually very impressed by Blue Cue. It is a chill bar where you can play pool and simply go to relax. The appetizers that they have are good too- typical bar food but for 50% off during happy hour, it does the trick. The bar service was great too! read more

On New Year's Eve, a friend of mine and I were going to drop into Centro for dinner before seeing a band at Harlow's. Well we took too long (pre-party mode) to get there and they had closed the kitchen. We knew we needed food before continuing our night and as we walked towards Harlow's we hears someone say "We have food.", in a low voice. The doorman at Blue Cue overheard us. He got our attention! LOL. So we went up and decided to order the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. It was fantastic! The bartenders were friendly. The service, great. For the fact that it was NYE and they were packed, we still got our meal in a decent amount of time and were able to still make the show at Harlow's. I would not really suggest this place if you want to play a decent game of billiards since it seems to be more a place to be "seen" than a place to play. I suppose on a Sunday afternoon would be ideal. I will have to check it out on a Sunday and let you all know. I do plan on going back for that pizza! read more

Great place to play pool, good food as well. They started a happy hour/ special on Tuesday's for Jack Daniels which made this my new favorite place for Tuesday's. Their pizzas a good too. Rack em up! read more
