Found this place on Yelp after an 8 mile hike. We were starving and in need of coffee. Very welcoming host. We ordered coffee from the bar while we waited. Ordered the chai latte, vanilla latte and a caramel latte. All delicious! The host had initially said it would be a 45 min wait but it turned out to be a 20 min wait. We ordered the breakfast combo and eggs Florentine. Both dishes were delicious! Plenty of food and very fresh! The bacon was cooked just perfect. Crispy but not burnt. Ordered orange juice and it was freshly squeezed. Great tasting Bloody Mary too! All the dishes that we saw go by looking amazing! We would definitely come back. We started with Sangria (they offer both red and white) which was $7. It comes in a mason jar and offers two servings. Next, we ordered oysters, $1 each with a 3 order minimum. They were hearty and delicious, served with red-wine vinegar and shaved horseradish. The eggplant dip is a must-have! There are so many bold flavors in this warm dish and it comes with a very appetizing bread. We also ordered the feta dip, which was slightly on the saltier side but still very good! Also, ordered shrimp tacos, two per order. They were just ok. If I were a local, I would be here on the regular! Glad to have come to this place. Pro tip: Check-in on Yelp for free dessert! A truly enjoyable experience in a cute spot just blocks from the beach and in the Southern section of Downtown Santa Monica. We happened upon the spot playing Yelper's Roulette, and I am so glad we settled on eating here. Relaxing and well curated decor throughout even down to the table settings. You can feel and see the thought and care put into The Blue Daisy. We came for brunch, and picked a comfortable spot in their patio area. Even our newly rescued pup made himself right at home. Service was quick, friendly, and non-pretentious throughout our meal experience. We opted to share dishes since it was our first time here and there were too many items we wanted to try, and we wanted to try to eat a little light. Funny enough, we went right down their breakfast appetizer portion of the menu. Our selections included: Zucchini Hash w/ Poached Eggs - the eggs were done perfectly. I was excited about the hash, but honestly was a bit disappointed as the flavor was a bit underwhelming on its own. Avocado Toast - their version included sesame seeds, hemp seeds, cilantro, pickled onions, along with perfect avocado slices. We added an egg (best decision!), and this was quite the delicious treat! The pickled onions gave this a little extra in flavor (some tang!) and texture that we really enjoyed. Figs, Honey, & Goat Cheese Toast - this was my favorite, and I would definitely get this again the next time (because there will be a next time!) we eat here. This provided a perfect mix of sweet & savory in every bite. Waffle - we always enjoy having a waffle to cap off every breakfast or brunch meal. This one was nicely done and served with fresh strawberries & blueberries. We should have asked for things to come out a little more staggered, namely the waffle since by the time we got to it, it wasn't hot and fresh. But that was our fault for not asking ahead of time. For drinks, the Irish Coffee is a great choice for those who like a little "extra" in their cup o joe. There are so many more mouth watering options listed on their menu, and with the relaxed atmosphere, I'm looking forward to coming back and exploring more of their menu. read more

Was looking for brunch food after hiking and I had Blue Daisy bookmarked. Honestly the egg scandia was the winner for my friend and I. I never had a croissant sandwich so that was a winner for me. I ordered the egg scandia with smoked salmon and my friend got the crab-cake scandia. I really enjoyed the croissant with hollandaise eggs and smoked salmon. It was such a perfect brunch meal. They had I believe zucchini hash browns or fries I kind of wanted to order it but didn't so definitely will need to try next time. Overall the food was good. I had to get some car repair done in the area so I decided to venture on out and enjoy the beautiful morning and as I was walking I stumbled upon Blue Daisy Cafe. I had never been here before so like any novice yelper i decided to look them up, and yes they have some pretty good reviews with some good looking photos of the fiddles. Upon seating, it's a first come first serve kinda place so basically walk up and find a spot no need to wait to be seated. Ordered a cup of decaf and I tried out their breakfast burrito, the coffee was decent in a nice cup, but this breakfast burrito was the star. I was a little upset you don't get a side like, hash browns or potatoes, kinda weird but whatever. This breakfast burrito was fantastic, nice good size burrito, egg, sausage, bacon, and it's all cooked with some spices, maybe a salsa poured in after, but man was this one good breakfast burrito. I would definitely get this burrito again which I think I'm planning on because the car didn't get finished after an all day ordeal, that's life sometimes. I saw a few other dishes go out while sitting there and everything looks pretty good, porched eggs Benedict, French toast w/ berries atop. Definitely a locals place for breakfast for sure. We had stopped by this spot for brunch because of it's great reviews. It's a cute little place with friendly service. I had their Turkish Latte ($6) which was creamy with a touch of sweetness and strong. My better half had their Turkish Coffee ($4) which was small but also VERY strong! We ordered the Ham Eggs Benedict ($19) on an English muffin with cream cheese, poached eggs, zucchini hash, and hollandaise. They were tasty! We ordered the French Toast ($16) which came with bananas, strawberries, and powdered sugar on top. The French toast was good as well. I just think it was a little pricey for French toast. I was very excited about this place but it left me a little disappointed. The fig and goat cheese toast was wonderful and the ambiance was cute but everything else was mediocre. We got the bacon and egg croissant there was no sauce taste bland, the Nutella crepe with banana and strawberry was fine but again that's something hard to mess up the presentation could have been better. The bananas and strawberries was inside the crepe was fine but aesthetically they could have also put some on top to make the plate look pretty. The chai latte I got was warm milk I actually sent it back they brought another one which was a bit better but didn't really give an authentic chai latte taste. The Turkish latte was also ok nothing spectacular. This I overall this place is fine as a local spot but I wouldn't go out of my way to try it. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for a Sunday brunch before heading to Santa Monica beach, and there was already a wait time at 10 am. Luckily the wait was short and we were seated shortly after putting our name down. We were seated at corner table.. - immediately after being showed our table, I noticed that they left a dirty cloth on the seat.. and no staff in site to flag. I understand it can be busy... but the cloth was dirty and on the seat... how?!? Aside from the bad start, we tried to enjoy our brunch. After ordering our food, we waited for a decent amount of time for it. We were hoping for the food to be impressive because of the four-star and thousand of reviews on yelp.. however, we weren't too wow-ed over the food. My boyfriend ordered the smoked salmon benedict and I ordered the egg scandia. Both entrees were very average and was very disappointing. Overall, the food was just okay, but nothing outstanding compared to LA brunch places. The ambiance is very homey, but the place had a strange smell like dirty towel smell throughout the restaurant. Came here on a Saturday at 11 for brunch. Wait was about 20-30 min and we were seated inside. Service was a bit slow but they were pretty busy the entire time. We got the salmon Benedict and the bagel and salmon plate, both were really delicious and surprisingly filling. The salmon tasted fresh and they were very generous with portions. The zucchini hash was delicious and filling - I'm not normally a zucchini fan but theirs tasted great! Definitely recommend the red sangria! It tasted great and it was such a large portion. Drinks in general were about $11 each and food is $14-18. Parking around here is all metered. We were able to find parking a block away. You could also park near the promenade and walk - it's two streets down from 3rd street. read more
