Went here for the first time an hour before they close and lucky us it was an anniversary week special. Even while looking through the window to see if very busy or not, I could see a server with his "nose in the air" glaring at us. I kind of wanted to turn away but we were out of options for a Sunday night. We go in and are seated with one menu only for 4 people and I had to ask for another. We ordered most of the anniversary special menu in addition to a spider roll (not on menu but they have it). No one comes to take our order for 15 min and I have to call the haughty server. Not even a hello or smile just takes out his pen. The food arrived pretty quickly though and was nicely displayed. Cucumber roll was huge as was the spider roll. Rice could have been a little softer or seasoned with the sushi rice sauce but not bad. I wouldn't come back for the Japanese food however the Thai food was awesome. The Penang curry so flavorful and not overly salty, chicken satay was good and they were able to switch out the peanut sauce for a pickled cucumber/onion side. Roti curry was also very good and we used that to dip everything. Overall pretty good Thai food but service may need to be upgraded, especially for the prices they charge. read more

Picked up food here on 2/14. Got the tofu red curry and cashew stir fry with tofu. My husband and I both got a severe case of food poisoning and spent the whole weekend puking and feeling sick. First time here after my friend told me how good the food was. Came here on a Tuesday lunch at 12:30, seated right away, but the place is moderately crowded. The interior is quite nicely decorated. As you enter the place, you're greeted by a Buddha shrine. There's nice wall decor, as well as a wall of flowers! They give you 8 quarter slices of fried roti with a very nice coconut sauce (that's a very appealing orange!). Yummy for an appetizer :) Pumpkin Curry-$11.95 (with the option of soft tofu or chicken). All their lunches come with a choice of brown/white rice, a salad (disappointingly with no dressing), and the soup of the day (which was a pleasantly sour vegetable soup in a small bowl). I ordered this with the chicken. The curry was a good size, mildly spicy (I wish it'd have more of the coconut flavor though, but maybe the spice overwhelmed it). You can order this with soft tofu, chicken, or shrimp and prawns. Good chunks of pumpkin and carrots (don't remember if there are green beans though). Good veggie option if you go for the tofu :) Service-Really not as bad as other reviews said. I am usually suspicious of places that serves two different restaurants in one, especially since I'm extremely picky with my Thai foods. We came here before the Kendrick concert for dinner. This is located in a shopping/food plaza right across from Target, so I was happy I didn't have to deal with street parking and was able to park smoothly into a lot. My friend had this place before and suggested it. I can conclude the Thai foods here are mediocre at best. It was empty when we entered around 5:30pm on a Saturday. I ordered the bowl size of tom yum soup with a side of rice (about $6 ish) and my friend had the vegetarian pad kee mao aka drunken noodles. My tom yum soup in medium spice was okay. I don't remember much about the soup, except it was clear instead of red and it was a bit bland. I finished it with my rice quickly though. My friend's vegetarian pad kee mao looked and smelled great! She thoroughly enjoyed her meal. This little restaurant is located in the very busy Coleman Ave center (doors from Trader Joe's) off 880. We were debating between Ramen or Thai. Thai won because we wanted the Thai coconut soup. It is really, imho, a 2.5 but I think it needs additional customer service training, as one of the things to improve. Upon arriving we were greeted by the fast moving wait staff. Place was pretty full maybe 75% full. We were seated immediately and given 2 sets of laminated page menu (sushi and regular menu). Service was a bit slow. We literally had to call them to get attention. Lots of business group filled tables, so I think they were more focused on the larger groups. So service was little service for us. We decided on a tofu themed experience from Pad See Ew w/ tofu, Panang Curry w/ Tofu, a couple of 2 vegetarian type sushi rolls, white rice and 2 ice teas. No soup was ordered b/c it came with complimentary No meat Thai coconut soup. Here's my review: 1) Thai coconut soup-very brothy, very light coconut flavor, ingredients were over cooked and teeny tiny. 1/5. (It was good it was free, cuz it's not worthy to pay for it) 2) Tofu Pad see ew had nice tender wide noodles , lots of tofu triangles, veggies were al dente, but even tho this dish is seasoned with soy sauce as part of the main sauce, it was bland and seasonless. The low sodium soy sauce was added, to our liking. (She charged it as "red noodles" on receipt) 3.5/5. 3) Penang curry with tofu-very soupy to my liking. Most places I've enjoyed this was a more thicker curry, which I love. It was served in a small bowl with rice and an undressed tasting super mini salad greens on the side. 3/5. 4). Zebra roll- it was ok. Had 8 pcs of cut pcs. A little thin. But it was vegetarian from its vegetarian sushi menu. 3/5. 5) Fruit roll up roll-this was the favorite of the table. It's the one with a mandarin orange segment on top. It was unique and refreshing. Also 8 pcs of rolls (thin) 5/5. 6) Thai ice tea-refreshing and creamy, good flavor5/5 Overall, a bit "blue" leaving this place. It's still debatable if I'll return. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really great for a date or a family dinner so you don't have to worry about being too loud. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so bringing a party bigger than 6 could be difficult. There's a lot of options of the menu for Thai food, and they even have a selection of sushi from the sushi bar. They have some of my favorites such as Spicy Catfish and eggplant, Pad See Ew, and Pineapple Fried Rice. There are also a lot of vegetarian options for both sushi and thai food. We ordered the Pad Thai and Lion King Roll to share! It was pretty good Pad Thai and sushi. The noodles weren't too dry like some places I've been to. They give a good amount of chicken, tofu, and prawns for every bite of noodles. Most bizarre​ experience ever! The waitress was not welcoming at all. Her attitude makes you want to leave immediately. I ordered Spicy noodles (Phad Ke Mao) and it was in tiny pieces. I couldn't​ see one proper noodle in my noodle dish. When I explained this to the same waitress​ she just looked at me as if I asked her for her kidney and did not even respond. Located near the Target plaza by the SAP center, Blue Mango is located in a smaller area next to Sweet Tomatoes. I've been here twice and both times we were seated fairly quickly with no wait. The menu has your standard Thai food options like Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, and your various curries. They also had other Asian food options like fried rice and sushi, but I didn't really think about ordering rolls at a Thai specialty restaurant. I went with the Pad Kee Mai, also known as drunken noodles, which are served with thick noodles in a glaze of sweet and spicy sauce with your choice of protein. You can adjust the spice level from 1-10, and as a fan of spicy foods, I went with spice level 10. It was a pretty good dose of heat, and I wouldn't recommend anything above a 6-7 if you're not used to spicy foods. We also ordered the Panang curry and unfortunately if you want rice with it, it's another $2.50 for a small bowl of plain rice. Overall, both of the entrees we ordered were decent, but nothing spectacular. The portion sizes seemed smaller than other Thai food restaurants around the area, but the prices seemed higher. read more

Looks small for being almost $20 but I did liked how spicy and flavorful the broth was. The mussels did not taste very good, it had a stale taste. I know it was frozen but the texture was very rubbery. The crab pad Thai was nothing to rave about and I didn't taste the crab very much. It was overpriced and looked like takeouts on plates. The food was very basic; not amazing or exciting. It felt like the Chinese foods version of Thai. When the bill arrived they accidentally charged us for a second coconut that we didn't order.... Good thing we caught this. The service is so incredibly slow here. I would not come back and as we were leaving, I saw that Panda Express was nearby and I would've rather saved myself the money and had a similar dining experience there. I decided to go with a Curry meal and opted for the Scallop & Prawn curry and a Thai Iced Tea. The meal is a yellow curry filled with slices of potato, carrots, onions, scallops and prawns. It comes with a house salad and what seemed like wild or brown rice. The curry itself was good, not too spicy but good kick. With generous portions of scallops and prawns that tasted fresh and not overcooked. The rice was good with the curry, but I wish there was more of it in proportion to the curry. The salad had a questionably sweet and milky looking dressing, you can bet I passed on that. We also shared a Salmon roll, which was alright. A typically saucy roll with slices of salmon and tempura bits on top. The Thai tea was sweet and strong, you can't go wrong with Thai iced tea. The food is a bit pricey for the portions as most have mentioned. The service was alright, wasn't really greeted upon entering. We ended up getting $7 off our bill, which was like half a plate. We got three dishes and boy these were the smallest plates I have ever feasted my eyes on. The rice and noodle plate were friggin small and you always expect larger dishes that will give you leftovers. For the price you pay, you definitely deserve more. We got green curry which was average and nothing special. The house fried rice was gooey and I liked it but the pork was super tough. I had remnants of msg in my mouth after that. The only dish that seemed to be the least popular among my colleagues was this spinach salad with chicken and mushrooms. That's fine but they charge $18.57 for this after tax. And on top of this, they don't give any utensils or napkins or sauces with the take out orders. So I decided to come back to Blue Mango after being cordially invited by the owner to try out new items on the menu. Foodwise, the food was, for the most part, very good and quality is acceptable. We ordered the Roti, Panang Curry, Mango Pork, and a sushi tempura roll, which the name escapes me. The Roti, although small, was very good and is Great dipped in their yellow curry. 5 stars for taste, 3 stars for portion (only 4 small pieces for the 6 bucks they charge you!) The Panang Curry was nice and creamy, although it could use some more seasoning to give it a kick, otherwise, its an acceptable dish if you want something more spicy than the yellow curry. The Mango Pork was pretty good and the sauce was amazing when drenched over their brown rice. Mango was nice and tender and not sour. Sushi tempura roll...it was ok, nothing too memorable here, but I do like their rice! nice and sweet. Service was awesome, water cup was constantly refilled, as I down at least 5 cups every meal. When it came to the bill however, the server tried to deny me using a coupon that I had and specifically tried to make me feel stupid and say that I couldn't use it and insisted that I was already using some other random discount that I had no idea.
