My fiancé and I had brunch here today and we're a little let down. Considering we are from out of town we were excited to try Blue Mesa as we have heard wonderful things - however, between a hair in the food that was not even remotely apologized for and the apathetic service we are unimpressed. We did not see a manager the entire time we were there, and I think it's a little absurd that a customer has to chase down management when there is a problem - when the staff should have notified management in the first place. According to the manager a meal is normally compensated under these circumstances (and he stated he didn't know why it didn't happen today). While it was kind of him to compensate the meal after the fact, I would have preferred an apology more than anything else. All in all the place is "meh". The food is decent, and the atmosphere is comfortable, but if there is another brunch place you're eyeballing maybe go for it instead. read more

I was here for an event that was upstairs in their huge rent space, and I really enjoyed the food and drinks they provided. The rice and sweet corn + the fajitas were great, and the margaritas were delicious. The space is truly beautiful, and I would totally recommend this to someone looking to throw a party or big meeting. I want to come back for the happy hour with friends. Happy New Years!!! We found this place online and decided to give it a try. We called for a reservation and they said by the time we would arrive, we would get seated. We drove 25 minutes. We still had to wait 25 minutes after we got there. Our waitress Telma was awful. She ignored our empty drinks and was not very attentive. We asked for no salt on our bloody Mary's and they all came with salt. We asked for lemons and got limes. The buffet was decent. I did discover something shockingly AMAZING... Mac and cheese... AND maple syrup!! Please do yourself a favor and try. The waiter next to us was a ROCK STAR and was VERY attentive and personable at his tables. He also has the voice of an angel. He sounded like a mixture of Fergie and Jesus. REALLY wish he was our waiter! The mimosas are pure... how do I say this in a nice way... CRAP! Do yourself a favor and skip them. Came here this morning for Sunday brunch. The restaurant itself is very pretty and clean; however, I did have a fork and plate that wasn't the cleanest. They could do better. The good: Lots of selections, lots of seating, happy hour quesadilla bar. The bad: tacos were not spiced at all, table-side guacamole made me a little sick (the ingredients are in glass jars that look like they're left out), they cut the street corn off the cob at the table (I think this should be a choice, a lot of people like eating it on the cob). It's Texas, and with a half dozen Tex-Mex places just down the street, there are plenty of other, better options. read more

Nicole with Blue Mesa's catering department really turned a bad situation into something wonderful. We had a caterer leave us in the dust two months before our wedding date, and Nicole really came to the rescue! We absolutely loved all the food at our family-style reception - especially the mini corn griddlecakes with shrimp and the shredded beef tostaditas. We contracted Blue Mesa for their tableware, bartenders, wait staff and, of course, food. Everything was perfect! We highly recommend working with such a reputable company, whose professionalism and hospitality are second to none! read more

This place is hit or miss.... Luckily I've gotten mostly good experiences. Their shrimp cocktail is amazing and they're seafood platter is the same (love the blue crab enchiladas). But... sometimes service is slow and usually drinks are weak. Whenever I come in with a freebie that was emailed to me the waitperson is confused. The chips are always stale and funky. I'm not so concerned about that but my Dad was bummed the last time we went. He said if you can't count on the free chips and dips what can you count on!!?? read more

Terra and her crew made everything SO easy and they were very flexible with our numbers as the event drew near. Anything we needed, they provided! Blue Mesa has unfortunately not impressed me the two times I've gone. I like the atmosphere of the outdoor patio and the free quesadilla bar during happy hour, but I've never been blown away by the food or drinks. I've tried the enchiladas and the tacos, and have had better elsewhere on both counts. I've also tried the blue margarita (frozen) and thought it just tasted like frozen ice dyed blue. However, TCU used to use Blue Mesa for Honors breakfast a few years ago, and these breakfasts were amazing. I loved the adobe pies and the breakfast tacos were great too. I've never tried these while at the restaurant, but would absolutely recommend the adobe pies! Because I've had such polar opposite experiences, I've settled on an in-the-middle three star review, but I would be willing to give this place another shot since I know they do have food that I really enjoy. read more

There was nothing outstanding or great about the buffet. Our server was good and very attentive- 5 stars there. There was a good variety of food but it was all very bland. The mimosas were watery and barely had a splash of champagne if any. Every time a server brought some out, they were all a different shade of (watery) orange. It's not a bad place but there is nothing I tried today that would make me go back for a $22 buffet (with 2 watery mimosas included). The service helped save his review. read more

Great Happy Hour and Weekend Brunch spot!! Blue mesa is a weekly stop for me and my friends because of their amazing happy hour which features $4 drinks and a complementary quesadilla bar/ chips (not gourmet or incredibly delicious but a good deal for $4). Another favorite of mine is their weekend brunch... although a bit more expensive (around $20 pp), they offer tons of selection, and you are guaranteed to leave happy and full. read more

I ordered the chicken street tacos which were small even for street tacos, they were bland chicken slices with a couple teaspoons of pico on top. Very disappointing for $14. My wife had the fish tacos which had no flavor either. Our waiter was Pedro who was very attentive. Blue Mesa Grill is far and away different from the typical Mexican Food establishment. For one thing is brings Huahacan flavors and styles of cooking from the center of Mexico to your table. Chefs are top notch. Servers just perfect in my opinion. Prices reasonable. Quality of ingredients amazing. I have eaten here 3 times. I want to give you one example of what I enjoyed. I think they call these Texas Toothpicks. It is an "appetizer platter for about $10.00. I ordered it as my entire meal and left stuffed to the gills. They give you three (3) kebabs on a stick grilled over a smoky open fire. One steak, one chicken and one sausage. Accompanying these is a generous bowl of creamy quest and several pieces of Pano flat bread which is fabulous. Pano is from Huahaca and I've never had it anywhere else. On the side are a couple of relish portions that really compliment the richness of the skewers. Delicious! You need to go try this place. They have plenty of space for dining inside even with Covid separation as well as outdoor seating. Go and enjoy. read more

Blue Mesa has a great happy hour. Get a house margarita and unlimited quesadillas for less than 10 bucks (includes tip) is a great deal. The quesadillas are not very filling, nor are there many options, however. Additionally, the house margaritas can get a bit too sweet. Overall, if you want a cheap happy hour and some pretty decent food, I recommend this spot. read more

I can't complain about the Happy Hour situation. Yes, it's packed. No, there are never free tables. Yes, the staff hates you and everything you stand for. No, it's not better on weeknights. But still, it's so cheap, and I have never gotten anything less than a solid buzz from a single drink, and sometimes, I've even gotten a little drunk from one. (Go for the mojito, skip the blue marg.) Plus, unlimited quesadillas are my favorite kind of quesadillas (especially the grilled veggie ones, unf) and I die over those sweet potato chips every time. The best way to do Happy Hour is to order your drinks at the bar, sip them happily while you stand in line for cheesy goodness, then mean mug the lingering couple in the corner until they vacate their table, then swoop in. Don't even bother with a waiter unless you're dying for a seat on the patio-- but the ambiance isn't much better there, anyway, so why bother? read more

We ordered the Red Chile Salmon Salad Wrap ($8.50) and Avocado-Sun Dried Tomato and Pesto Quesadilla ($8.95). The quesadilla was healthy and yummy but made me feel "heavy" due to the cheese. The salmon was delicious and BIG. I recommend splitting the salmon wrap and salad so you don't induce any food coma. Service was great. She brought out a new tea when mine was 1/3 to 1/2 full. I would definitely come here again for lunch and highly recommend the salmon wrap. read more

In college we used to go here for happy hour a little too frequently. The blue margaritas were cheap and effective. I love their chips, a delightful combination of sweet potato, blue corn and regular tortilla chips, and their salsa. I've gone a couple of times for dinner and have always been disappointed. I can't remember what I had the first time I went but I do remember the dessert. Churros with a chocolate sauce. The churros were served in one of those black wire french fry cones. They were so greasy that oil dripped down, through the paper and across the entire table. We were moved to a different table and had our meal comp'd. The second time I had the tacos. The were below average. The beef had an odd mouth feel. Almost artificially tender. The portobello taco was alright but really sweet. The service was awful. We waited forever for our food, were seated by a fountain which sprayed water on our table and us, and our waiter never came back around until he brought us the check. I had their brunch at a Dallas location and was pretty disappointed. I think this place is fine for happy hour but it's one my least favorite restaurants in Fort Worth. read more

I have only ever been to Blue Mesa for brunch on Sunday and it has ALWAYS been amazing. The perfect mix of breakfast and lunch items. The food is fresh, flavorful, and bright. The brunch has a perfect balance of sweet and savory and the buffet includes the following plus some: waffle bar, eggs cooked to order, salsa, guacamole, fajitas, fresh tortillas, ham, enchiladas, migas, ETC, ETC! The brunch price includes as many mimosas as you want or whatever other non alcoholic drink. My only advice is to go as soon as they open, otherwise, the wait can get crazy and it can get very crowded. read more

One of my most favorite restaurants in Fort Worth. They have been around for years. In fact, my family and I spent time here way back when I was in HIGH SCHOOL in the late 90's. We spent so many special occasions here and the memories I have of the times spent here are fantastic!! Now that all that is out of the way, I have to admit I probably haven't been in about 5 years since I moved away but some of the things I remember the most is happy hour coronas on the back porch, made at your table guacamole & queso, and the best Apple Pan Dowdy I've ever had in my entire life! The dinner menu has always been spectacular but my fave's have always been the enchiladas and fajitas. When I want tex-mex, Blue Mesa is my standard. Unfortunately, you have to live in Texas, and I don't anymore so I'm constantly disappointed. You can bet that the first place I go to when I get back to Fort Worth is this place. =P read more
