I'm giving this place 4 stars because the food that we ate was very good, the service was quick and friendly. Also reasonably priced with a good sized menu. Also when handed a menu, they also hand you a card that apologizes for the fact that they are a small one flat top grill restaurant and they can not cater to food allergies or special diets. They also offer to make you a special order, priced according to ingredients and cook time. But this is truly one of those hole in the wall restaurants with good food and not much atmosphere. My son said he's always wanted to try it but could never find it. Why he didn't GPS it is beyond me. Because, that is what we did today to find it in the Commercial District of Port Townsend WA. They have maybe 8 tables, and it probably wouldn't hurt if they wiped off the condiment bottles that are on all the tables. Their kitchen is approximately 6' x 8' and you can see the dishes being manually washed. The "kitchen" refrigerator is in the dining area. Yet, the bathroom was amazingly clean. They also had a couple of tables outside if you happen to bring along your dog. Don't think about air conditioning, but ten again in WA, most days you don't even need the air. But, Yes, I would definitely go back ... it's kind of funky. read more

Great place for breakfast! The place fills up quickly with limited indoor seating, so plan to sit outside in the morning shade. We arrived at 7:30 and got the last outdoor seats. Service was good considering how busy they were, the burritos were awesome, and the coffee just right for a local diner. We would definitely come back again. read more

First motorbike ride of the year and i found this place from reviews i had read. I was not disappointed, Staff were so polite everyone and i mean everyone was working hard with a smile. Char ( charlotte) was my server and was great although everyone made sure i was taken care of. Fill your own coffee if you don't want to wait for server to serve you which is a great idea for a small slammed cafe. Food was very good might try the burrito next time. We came here as we saw a review that said 'like Maltby Cafe, this is nothing like Maltby. For three of us we waited about 5 minutes, however it took awhile to be greeted, get our breakfast, and we never got our bill. The food is average, its nothing that you couldn't get at your local Denny's. French toast was weird, it had bits of something crunchy, when it was delivered we had to ask for syrup. The eggs Benedict was just ok. After waiting for our bill, I finally went inside to pay, the older lady was very rude. What do you need? Cornbread hash had little to no flavor and the French toast wasn't warm enough to want to melt the butter. We ordered a side of home fries...and maybe our expectations were wrong. We met friends here for a weekday late breakfast. The food and service were both excellent. The atmosphere is funky and fun. It is small, so we were glad we'd chosen 10am to meet. A little earlier would probably have also been okay. I would never try this place on a weekend unless it was warm and they had the outdoor seating open. Adjacent parking is limited. It might be necessary to park near the water (at the trailhead) and walk over. This is a working neighborhood, so watch for traffic! read more

The best breakfast I've had in a long time. Extremely friendly staff, almost like eating at a friends house. Was with a small group and zero complaints from anyone, exact opposite whole table was raving about their meal. Honestly; I feel like this place was overhyped. I could be wrong, as there was a long wait considering it was a Sunday morning while church was in, but it just wasn't that good. The most amazing meal! Between the four of us we had juevos rancheros, scooter, french toast, and bagel sandwich and we all were convinced we had the best meal ever. We quickly agreed that any time we're anywhere close to Port Townsend we have to go there every time. What a great hidden gem! We went here early for breakfast after reading Yelp reviews. It was awesome! Located in a ship and dock yard, it was out of the way and looked a bit unusual. However, we decided to give it a try, and boy are we glad we did! A few picnic bench tables out front and 6 or 8 tables inside. They have an eclectic vibe. Lots of locals were there. The staff is super friendly and the menu is amazing! What a wonderful variety. Lots of veggie options for breakfast. I had the veggie scramble and it was so good! Hubby ordered the home made corned beef hash. It was amazing - so tender and flavorful! The meat melts in your mouth. Great seasoning - not too salty and nice and lean. We even saw the cook preparing 2 big pans of brisket for the next batch of corned beef - adding the spices and wrapping in foil to begin the slow cook process....now that's home made! No wonder it was so delicious. If in Port Townsend, seek out and try this place. We were here early but I think it gets busy later...it would be worth the wait though!! read more

Oh my god. I don't know how I can ever get breakfast anywhere else. The atmosphere was so cute and family oriented. Our server Ashley was super friendly and kind, both to us and other patrons, and very speedy! Alicia (sorry if I'm spelling that wrong!) was also super friendly, as was the gentleman who sat us. The woman working up front was also great--literally everyone we interacted with was so friendly. It felt like walking into a family breakfast. And, wow, the food. SO GOOD. I got the sizzlin t-rex scramble which was amazing. The sourdough toast was perfectly done, and the home fries were literally life changing. So well-seasoned and soft on the inside while a little crunchy on the outside. Additionally, the whole plate was only $12 for a huge portion. My sister got the morgan scooter and loved it. Huge portion for only $7 and she said the bacon was delicious. My dad got a lá carte ham and two sunny side up eggs, which was also great. Literally everything about this place was perfect. No clue how this place has so many positive reviews. The only positive thing about my visit was the friendly hostess who greeted me. The rest went downhill quickly. I saw my server, ONE TIME, when she took my order. The hostess checked on me a couple of times, but my server was missing in action. The seat and the walls, at my table were dirty, the ketchup bottle and syrup container were sticky, and the food was disappointing. They gave me an overcooked pancake that tasted like Bisquick, with no butter and a knife would barely cut it...using a knife to eat a pancake shouldn't ever be necessary. I wanted to go to Spruce Goose, also in Port Townsend, but they were closed. I always tip generously when I go out to eat. This is the first time, in as long as I can remember, that I didn't. Why waste my money on service that was terrible and food that fell short?! Also, Blue Moose is in a boatyard and not easy to find. I drove around in circles until I found it. I won't be returning! $15 for 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, and a pancake that wasn't edible? What a joke. read more

Very excited to have breakfast at this place during our first visit at Townsend. We arrived at 11:30am for brunch and were seated so we thought I'd be a quick meal. We ordered our food right away and orange juice too. Servers brought juice and the waiting game began. Unfortunately we waiters roughly 45 minutes for our food to come out. As we sat and waited for our food we saw a huge line of people picking up online orders for lunch. It seemed like workers prioritized online orders before us. Also, during our 45 minute wait we saw 2 couple get up and leave because they were waiting so long. Once the food came out, it was good. The only concern is that French toast could've had a little more flavor. If you have lots of time to spare, definitely come out and try this place but if you're in a time crunch look up other breakfast places. read more
