In town visiting, my mom likes this place and took me for dinner. I had the fiery phoenix wrap. What I got back was something I would have called buffalo chicken. NOW SERVING BRUNCH! So I came in here after my good Sunday deed...church. I was all happy and jivin' from all the singing that I just unleashed in the world, that this place was so appropriate as the next place to go. This was my FIRST TIME here and they were testing out their new brunch menu for the first time. I love to be in a place on their first day of anything, because it really let's you see the true character of a place. They showed me that they cared and were attentive to my needs. I am a fan of this place because (here is another one of my lists) A. They noticed that I was having trouble with the blinds on the window and immediately came to the rescue. B. The waiter was honest that he was new to the menu as well, so I went easy on him. C. The Chef and Owner introduced themselves to customers and asked opinions on price and amount of the food from new menu (VERY SURPRISING) D. The WHOLE WHEAT BREAD from my "Egg-Stack" sandwich was better than the the bread at my favorite joint in LA. E. The atmosphere was wild and free, which I think envelops Asheville area's personality...very unique. Go to this place for a nice portioned and hearty brunch in a happy funny cafe. This is a great place for good comfort food. Blue Sky is in Fletcher, near Veritas Christian Academy and TD Bank. Blue Sky has been one of our families favorites for a long time until it got more popular. It's become so popular that the wait to order is pretty bad. The restaurant itself is pretty small, but it has a heated outdoor area for extra seating. The food itself is pretty good, little greasy. But it's what you'd expect for comfort food. They have wraps, burgers, sandwiches and more. The burgers are massive, so it's great if you want to take any home for tomorrow's lunch :). But their fries take the spotlight. They are well seasoned, crispy (but not burnt!) and just great. I'd recommend this place if you want some burgers and fries, or some wraps. Full disclosure... I'm a vegan from Los Angeles which is a vegan Mecca when it comes to food. There are some decent vegetarian/vegan options available. I agree with earlier comments that the fries are good. I would stay clear of the deep fried tofu, kinda flavorless and tastes oily, but the hummus is good here. Before today's visit I would have given 4 stars, but not anymore. My daughter has celiacs and we have frequently visited this location with many options for her. I routinely ask the cook that is prepping her food to change gloves incase they have touched gluten and too avoid cross contamination, so I ask as I always do. The cashier told me she would have to ask the manger bc they were very BUSY. She walked to the back talked with the manger and she came back and said "I'm sorry due to it being busy the manager says he can't accommodate those needs and we don't have anything that is a safe option". My reply "we have eaten here many times before they have never had any problem with doing these things and being busy isn't an excuse for no accommodating my daughter as you always have. I want to speak with the manger myself." She said "okay he is cooking" another staff member walked to the back and stated to the manger "she is going to wait until you are done and just to let you know she has been very rude to us". When she came back I stated "I haven't been rude just direct about the needs of my daughter who is just as important as the other people in line". Need I mention that this facility is also listed as gluten free friendly with options. Being busy isn't an excuse EVER. Btw wait for the owners response to this review it will again be filled with excuses about how he perceived the question from the cashier and how they were busy. When I read his reply to my google review to my daughter her comment was "I wasn't embarrassed of you I was embarrassed of them for not doing something, so simply" I want to reiterate my only request that I clearly communicated to the cashier was changing gloves or washing hand prior to making her salad because she has celiacs. We also had another adult with me that will be posting her review which is the same as mine. read more

Your run of the mill cafe. It's in a shady area. I called for delivery they stated they have not had a delivery service for a year now. So I went to pick up the food. The food was cold the fries were in a greasy oil bath. We are vegetarians so the menu states that it's vegetarian but just a few choices. Just you're normal run of the mill American style cuisine. You order at the front right when you walk in, so if someone's not familiar with the menu it could be a while to place your order. Ordered a chicken fajita wrap with fries. It was bland and watery, gave away the remainder of the wrap to a colleague since I knew the wrap wouldn't last. The fries are double fried which is nice. My two companions ordered a salmon salad and chicken wings. Again nothing too amazing abouy the flavor. It's a bit pricy for the amount of food you get but its a decently okay option for the area and a quick bite. For the area it's probably the best healthy option around. read more

If we're craving quick, delicious, amazing takeout, we always hit up Blue Sky. They have a huge menu and everything is delicious! We have dined in as well and have had great service. Friendly staff and I'm telling you that their sweet potato fries are the best I've ever had. The buffalo chicken wrap and the Carolina chicken wrap are two of our favorites. Amazing desserts as well. This seems to be the healthy alternative diner. Their 'Wraps' are truly wonderful. Blue Skies cheese cake and chocolate cake are divine. While not the 99 cent menu, of todays fast food restaurants, I have found their prices are very reasonable. Particularly, when taking into consideration the value of food used in preparation. While the restaurant is an older building, Blue Sky is always neat and clean. Their outside patio is nice. They are conveniently located in Fletcher with easy access. Hometown place. Their menu is HUGE!! Nothing is really out of the box. The prices are good. I've not had a bad meal here. The staff is nice. The atmosphere is a little odd. It definitely matches the name. I dislike the seating. It's very cramped. Very little room by the counter to pick up or pay. I suggest the spring rolls. Pesto chicken melt. Sweet potato fries are good. Cut the menu in half. Become the master of a few items over being ok at 1000. read more
