Red, White and Blue pancakes, delicious

They recently remodeled this restaurant with new flooring a fresh paint job and removed the annoying fake bird. The service is always great here, I had the Red,White and Blue pancakes, light a fluffy, fruit was fresh. My wife's omelette had the ingredients mixed into the eggs which tastes so much better then putting them on the eggs and folding them over like some of the area restaurants. We've been here many times always gets seat quickly even though the parking lot is full. We will keep coming back!

Nice country style restaurant and the prices are more than fair. Breakfast was delicious, will be back for the lunch soon.

The Myrtle Beach area is chock-full of these kinds of all-purpose diner or pancake house type places, and for the most part, they'll serve you well for a quick sit down breakfast or lunch. Blue Sky Restaurant was convenient for where we were heading, and it's a very large place, so no waiting at all. The menu is vast, with every kind of reasonable breakfast thing you could possibly want and some surprises. There is also a nice size lunch menu of sandwiches, burgers, chicken, and a few entrees. I was in more of a lunch mood, so I went for the club sandwich. Food took about 20 minutes to come out and the sandwich was a nice size, well presented. That said, I would have liked a better ratio of meat to bread, it was a little sparse. I had also ordered it with honey mustard, and was half done with my sandwich before our waitress appeared again with a cup of it for me to self apply. The onion rings were pretty standard, nicely crispy, but didn't stand out in any particular way. I was happy with them, and generally happy overall.

Last day of vacation in the area. First time here. We were looking for something traditional breakfast options. This hit the mark. Ample parking. First thing we noticed though as we walked in was an incessant squawking. For some unbeknownst reason, they have a bird on their balcony in a cage. The thing was shrieking nonstop. Not exactly what I want to listen to at 0730 while trying to have breakfast with my wife. Ambiance...cue the 80s set design. The interior was straight outta 40 years ago. Time for some updating. However, our server was excellent. She was attentive, but not overly intrusive. Much appreciated. The food was good. Standard "diner" style breakfast. My wife had French toast and scrambled eggs. I had the "Carolina Omelet." Both were good. Can I say this place blew me away? No. But it was a good, basic, homestyle breakfast with no fancy frills. That's what we were looking for. Mission accomplished. Will we be back? Maybe. No real reason not to come back when we are in town...but there are a bazillion other breakfast places to visit as well. Overall, well done.

7/15/25: We enjoyed super service from Brooke. Beautiful, spacious interior with comfortable aqua blue padded booths. Mark's Blue Sky Special: two buttermilk pancakes, two eggs, and three crispy bacon strips; was $13.95. Laura loved her stuffed French toast ($10.95) with a side of 5 bacon strips ($6.95). Our first time because we live about 30 minutes away, and the restaurant closes at 2PM daily. We'll see you the next time we pass through! - Laura & Mark VanValkenburg, The Bluffs on the Waterway, Myrtle Beach.

Always crowded, but you can usually sit pretty quickly. Attractive decor. Pleasant staff. Good food at reasonable prices.

Best soups around this area! Great friendly service, clean and fairly priced. Closest thing to a NY style diner.

Old fashioned on the inside, but the food and service was wonderful. The Eggs Benedict was delicious, the sauce was creamy and delightful.

Before our meal, they brought out warm hush puppies with what I believe was honey butter, and they were so good they disappeared in no time! The atmosphere is fun, welcoming, and family-friendly, and the live music made the whole experience even better. It's easy to see why Dead Dog Saloon has been featured on the Travel Channel and in Southern Living Magazine. Great food, generous portions, excellent service, and an awesome waterfront atmosphere make this a place we'll definitely be coming back to. Highly recommend!

We've been coming to this area for more than 20 years, had family homes in the area, so we've had…read morean opportunity to try many places over the years, but today was the first time we tried Dead Dog Saloon. Let's try the good first. We arrived and we're seated immediately, but was also arrived just before 5pm, and it was already packed. Not surprised as it is the peak of the summer season. Our server was pleasant and attentive, and in my opinion, that was pretty much the extent of the " good". The "OK". - the food was just that, ok. The cobia had no real seasoning on it, if it weren't for the butter sauce, it would have had zero flavor. The fries are obviously from frozen and cooked until very crispy, almost hard. The mac and cheese sampled from my wife's plate also tasted like a mass produced, frozen deal. She said the scallops were good, and the shrimp I sampled were decent. My son enjoyed his fish and fries, but he's 6. The "bad"...since I'm using those words. It's loud, and got louder around 5:45. No surprise though, it's called a saloon and the reviews clearly say it's loud. Be prepared. Parking. I guess if you can find a spot on site, you're good, but the pay lots across the street are $20 for 2 hours...the least you can get. And again, something I failed to read, researcher whatever, but the pictures of all the 4 legged friends that have crossed the rainbow bridge that adorn the walls, it was, to me, a bit of a buzz kill. I quite frankly never realized it's concept was to honor actual dead dogs. My bad. We've been, and I honestly don't expect well go back, at least not for a while. I'll give it another shot, but in an area like this, there are always new places to try, ones that have been open for 30 years, and ones that have been open for 30 days. It's important to make a good first impression to generate return business.

Hannah provided us with excellent service and was well versed in the prep and presentation of the food. Well done Hannah!! Our flat bread appetizer hit the spot and the crust was amazing. Both the pulled pork and pastrami sandwiches were on point. If you up for something spicy, try the jalapeño baked beans. Loved em! We had banana pudding for dessert and if I were to make a single negative comment would be the mason jar serving vessel for the pudding. While certainly nostalgic for a BBQ place, I couldn't reach all the nooks with my spoon to get all the last bits of delicious pudding out. But don't worry, will be back for another helping. Very cool spot and I bet it's great when there is live music and during bike week. Thanks again to all.
