One of their popular items in Pennsyltucky which they call a Yuenling dupe, since Yuenling is not distributed on the west coast but is highly requested by many transplants to the state of Washington. You be the judge! The location is situated in the middle of what appears to be a craft district/industrial area. It could be a fun place to visit on nice days and depending on who the food vendor is and if there is entertainment. Also other breweries and such in the immediate vicinity.

This little area near the airport seems to be the brewing epicenter of Olympia. Triceratops has high quality beer in a relaxed environment. The two times we were there they had a baseball game and a football game on the TV. It doesn't seem as "trendy" or "hip" as other breweries, but I'm not always interested in a trendy brewery. Sometimes I want to try a new beer on tap while watching the game. It helps that the garage door is open creating a hybrid outdoor/indoor environment. The last time I was there I enjoyed their red ale. My wife and I don't find many red ales that we like but I'm always searching for the elusive, quality red ale. Triceratops has a good red ale.

I genuinely find it in bad form…read more Sometimes, though, a business does something- not necessarily good or bad - that bears mentioning for the benefit of the public. My wife and I had been looking forward to trying Hoh River Brewery since we moved to the area a few months ago. The South Sound's brewery game is *weak,* and Hoh seemed promising. So on a rainy day, we loaded up the family and some card games and headed to Tumwater for some beer and good times. We walked in at 2:00 pm on the dot on a Saturday. Literally no one else was patronizing the place at the time. As it happened, neither would we. We were immediately informed that the place is 21 and over only. Look, 21+ establishments are fine. Whether it's for compliance reasons or just because the owners want a spot free from kids for adults to relax in a quiet atmosphere, I get it. I don't think it's a smart business decision if you can avoid it, but I get it. My *problem* isn't with the policy. My problem is their lack of transparency about it. It should be on their website front and center, not under the "when to find us" tab with their hours. They should also, at the *very* least, have a sign on the door like a normal 21+ establishment so you don't even walk in with kids. We didn't see a sign before or after entering, and if there just had been some warning, I wouldn't be writing this. As an example, here is the text from an event on Facebook: "Heads up, Tumwater and Olympia -- we're heading your way! Mark your calendars for 12/10 and join us for our pre-order pick-up event where we bring the best of our bakery to you! Swing by to pick up your order and indulge in a wide selection of refreshing lagers, delightfully smooth sours, and more from our friends at Hoh River Brewery " (This was I believe written by a guest vendor, but just an example of when mentioning age restrictions wouldn't hurt.) Here is from their FB page header: "Craft brewery in Tumwater with Hoh River connections. Combined taproom with a distillery." On their business website, there is no mention of age restrictions until you get to the "when to find us" page. There are plenty of family-friendly breweries/taprooms in the area (we went to Triceratops Brewing after being rejected here), so it isn't weird for us to expect that here. And again, I'd be fine with them being 21+ only IF THEY WERE UP FRONT ABOUT IT SO I DIDN'T DRIVE 20 MINUTES TO GET THERE! This review is a heads up to readers, and a plea to the owners to be more up front about the restrictions on Facebook and their website. It's naive at best and rude and idiotic at worst.

Personally I think since the change took place the cider has gotten better. I was kind of iffy with the predecessor business that was here and their cider but I liked the several ciders I tasted with Chapman quite well. I tried the Strawberry Fields cider, Apple Pie, Tumwater Tea , Bourbon Vanilla and a few others. It was good cider and the place was friendly and informative. I actually really like the location for this cidery as there are breweries very close to Chapman Cider. Matchless and Triceratops breweries are easily within walking distance and with any luck a food truck or two while you stroll about trying out the different drink options that are in this business park.

This brewery is a collaboration effort with South Puget Sound Community College's craft brewing and distilling programs. So you can try craft beer options, cider options and distilling options. We stuck to mostly trying the beer that they had to offer which was a Bohemian Pilsner and their Pale Ale. We decided we like the the Pale Ale the best between the two and from the person that took our order seemed to indicate that that was the usual general consensus from customers in regards to the beer. As far as things to eat they have snacky types of things of a more fancier sort. We got some bread with oil and olives but you can also get things like a charcuterie board as well among other menu options. The size of the portions are perfect if you are snacking around the Tumwater Craft District building trying out different things and don't want a big meal in one sitting. The beer itself is alright. I have definitely had beer with more personality but knowing what the set up is I guess I should adjust my standards accordingly. I like the lounge like decor and bar setting which makes for a nice, quiet place to relax.

I think their hot dogs went up in price too. Don't even get me started on the food truck prices I've seen there, lol. But I tell you what, it can be a nice change from the other grungy bars in town. One time a performer was pretending to be very kind to me. He had got me all excited about going up on stage to sing a song with him, and then said I couldn't, and humiliated me in front of everyone. It was super weird. He seemed like such a humble guy at first. What a creep! Needless to say, with the price, chairs and everything, I rarely stop in. And I always make sure it's before any performers arrive if I do. More into their beer garden events and involvement in the community.

I was at the winery when this occurred and…read morewitnessed the full incident, and I urge you to not judge this winery or its owner based on her review. To be clear, I have been coming to Endless Sound since shortly after it opened and am a wine club member. I was at the winery with friends this evening when I watched this unfold. Melody came in with a man and small child and was told to take a seat. Mark (the owner) was single-handedly managing 20-25 people while preparing for the wine and cheesecake pairing. Shortly after sitting down, Melody got up and went to the counter where she proceeded to verbally accost Mark at a high enough volume where she could be heard throughout the space. She did not allow Mark the chance to respond to her, nor did she ever try to engage with him in a less confrontational manner. After sitting, she sat and waited. She never tried to flag him down. Instead, she went straight to a verbal altercation with a raised voice, in which she made an absolute scene and embarrassed herself. She immediately ran to Yelp and left this review. Frankly, she should be ashamed. To call Mark a racist is also deeply problematic to me. As someone who has been coming to this winery since shortly after it opened, I have never once seen Mark treat anyone with something less than absolute respect and kindness. Melody's accusation has malicious intent, and frankly, maybe she was having a bad day, but Mark is a phenomenal human and welcoming to all. For those of you looking for a real opinion, this is an incredible local spot with great wines, awesome ambiance, a ton of cool events, and a wonderful and knowledgeable winemaker.
