So this is a valenced review, the the star count representing aggregate racial issues cuz we are in St Louis, y'all. I would like to review the food, but when I asked my white bartender his opinions re what I might order--he said "I don't make recommendations. We are all adults". But, he was generously conversational with the white chicks beside me, asking if they might like anything else re food. Go figure? Okay, that dood is middle-aged like me, such I relate: maybe lil more therapy and a lil less transferred and targeted hate might be in order. And when I chatted with the shift transitional bartender/ perhaps manager, he was white-guy empathetic s p e a k I n g v e r y s l o w l y. So after years and quite a few concerts downstairs in the Duck Room, I finally got a chance to try the food in Blueberry Hill. O e of my friends was in town from Chicago and wanted a late nite vegan place.lol Late nite vegan in STL yeah maybe in the Chi but about as close as they come is late night vegetarian in these parts. So I suggested this place. 5/5 This is definitely the best reuben sandwich that I've had in a St Louis restaurant. Worst service ever!!! Don't waste your time going there. Took over an hour & half to get our burgers. It was a Sunday evening and the place was only half full so I hate to see how long they take when busy. When I asked our server, Mason, if I could speak to the manager he told us he was the manager. When I asked who his boss was, he said he didn't know. Worse of all, because we had 8 adults & 2 children they charged us a "mandatory" gratuity of 20% for the lousiest service if ever had. First of all, the Denmar Loop is a super fun neighborhood. Now, don't expect a fancy menu or a large variety here, but what we ordered was good and our server was cool. Read some reviews last night which slammed the food and the service and almost did not go. Very glad I did! Service was fast, friendly and exceptional! My breakfast burger was excellent! Good meat cooked medium rare, exactly as ordered with crisp bacon, american cheese and fried egg. And some perfectly cooked tater tots. The bun was a little too bready, and the tots were food service type (Sysco I bet). But for 12.00, it was a lot of food and of course you can't beat the amazing Blueberry Hill vibe But really good stuff overall. Hoping this means they are getting back on track. read more

I try not to leave negative reviews, but my experience at Blueberry Hill was so poor I feel compelled to share. This was my first time here and I was so excited to try it and post about it, but in the hour and a half we were there we quite literally had nothing to post about. We were told to seat ourselves, and we did, but then it wouldn't be another 30 minutes until someone eventually came over to take our drink orders. We got our drinks and our food order was taken. An hour later we hadn't received the appetizers much less our beers and water had been empty for a while. When we eventually flagged down our waiter he told us our food would still be another 15-20 minutes on top of the hour we'd been waiting. We only ordered pretzel bites, two burgers, and a baked potato, all of which would take 15 minutes to make. Leading us to believe he most likely forgot to put the order in and was avoiding telling us. If the kitchen really were backed up, this is something he should have told us when we sat down, when we ordered, or even in the hour we were waiting. Additionally, we saw other tables around us who sat down after us get their food. We had a concert we were running late for so we left. I gave them two stars because they did cover our one round of beers, but the experience as a whole was very disappointing. Just a warning try not to go before a concert or other event, and if you do make sure to sit at the bar or somewhere with service provided. read more

Apps were great! I'm told burgers were excellent. My Reuben came out cold and soggy, so I am not sure if it sat a long time or it was never hot to begin with, but it wasn't very good cold and soggy. Our servicer was good, but we were never asked about our food. read more

A St Louis landmark by any measure this place is iconic. The menu has something for everyone, and there is no other atmosphere like it.

On our last night in st louis we made it to the Delmar Loop. We were disappointed the trolley was not running but it only runs on weekend nights in the winter season. We walked up and down the loop and had an early dinner at blueberry hill and were not disappointed. Husband had a burger with cheddar cheese spread and fries. Both were excellent Burger was juicy and hot and fries were hot and crispy. I had a salad with grilled chicken. Everything was fresh and it had a good mix of fresh greens. Green peppers, celery, egg wedges, cheese and carrots. Fat free French dressing was very tasty. The decor is just intriguing. The owner has had his pic with hundreds of celebrities and that was cool to see. Also old toys movie posters, etc.. you have to see to believe. Service was excellent. Beautiful evening, amazing western burger MEDIUM-RARE AS REQUESTED, fries were to die for and martinis were filthy delicious. It has games, arcade, pool, it's a good spot for drinking and laughing. It has a concert venue in the basement too. The drinks are strong and reasonably priced. The food is basic diner/ bar food. Nothing special about the food. Any and all things fried taste delicious especially to soak up the alcohol. I like that they card after 9 too. read more

How do I leave the most disappointed review possible? Came here excited to be back in my hometown with family after a long time. Waited over an hour and a half for food that never came. By the time 9pm rolled around and we still didn't have food, we decided we had to leave and get our infant to bed. Meanwhile, the restaurant said/did nothing to help, gave no reason for why it was taking so long and the manager was eating in the back while half the restaurant didn't have any food. We were told over 5 times to check out this place, at first we went to the Peacock due to the brights lights there (check review) eventually we finally made it and I'm beyond pleased! We should have came here the first time! ‍ Our server Emilia was absolutely amazing! She was so friendly! And helpful with suggestions for us. We tried out the two famous burger and the kids chicken tenders and they are worth every reward! I was upset when it was all gone! Not because I was still hungry but because it taste so good! We sat in the dart room which was cool my husband loves playing darts and there are a few video games as well in this room. The prices were good and the food and drinks were amazing! This place is more than a restaurant it is an experience! Now we see why everyone we met said we have to go here! We will come again!! This is a really cool place to take your friends and family to when they are visiting town! There is so much cool memorabilia inside and vintage items. It is also really cool to see all the photos that the owner has taken with celebs. They also have bar games and arcade games! Favorite thing is that you can just walk in and explore and seat yourself. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because we ordered the toasted ravioli and some other appetizers and they were over cooked. I've been going to Blueberry Hill all my life. I will say if you're going for drinks and darts, 4.5 stars. The drinks aren't anything special but not terribly expensive. The dart room and games are a blast so you can't go wrong on a night out with friends. I have to say though, I've never been impressed with their food. The burgers are sloppy and often stale buns that fall apart when eating (huge pet peeve), the appetizers I've tried lack luster, and frankly nothing I've had is "I have to come back for this" quality. The wait staff is nothing special and there have been nights that even with a large party (that would bring a good tip) we've been neglected. As a waiter for 12 years of my life I understand the basics of what is or isn't a rational request/need. Unfortunately they miss the mark here. However, I will keep going back for standard fried food, beer, and darts. read more

This is a fun place with eclectic decor that just begs you to look around. The service was great and our waitress was knowledgeable, personable and efficient. It's your typical bar food menu, but the food was good, the fries were crispy, and since I have to eat glutenfree and vegetarian, I was happy to see an Impossible burger and glutenfree bun offered on the menu. I would never recommend going to blueberry Hill in the loop terrible service our waitress Kylie didn't come around wasn't good at clearing the table didn't come by to refresh our drinks all the hot meals hamburger french fries were all cold I specifically had reservations for 5:00 at their tables were not ready also with specific we had 10 plus people in the group however I told her she would have to go around the table and get people to pay their bill I was specific in that my husband and I were only paying for our appetizers and our immediate family she was told two times said she understood and ended up paying charging us for the entire bill and then when I made a complaint they emailed me back and said basically there was nothing they could do so nothing was done they didn't void or take anything off our bill I would never recommend going there in the service took forever to get our food an hour and a half after ordering our appetizers place is dirty too bathroom terrible. My suggestion dont put anymore money in the owners pocket. He needs to revamp hire people who know what they are doing and hire cleaning people. read more

My family and I just came from Blueberry Hill and I love the atmosphere. While seated we can speak a normal volume and due to the natural noise cancelling from the music and the perfectly spaced seating arrangements I felt very comfortable. I have the Famous burger and it was good. I really liked my wife's fries she got with her Western Burger. Western Burger reminded me of the Smokehouse burger from different restaurant. I will be going back to Blueberry Hill Restaurant and Bar, if I am back in the area. I also want to visit other places around there. Delmar Loop will see more me. read more

This is a four or five star bar, but a 1.5 star place for food. Granted, prices are pretty low, but the food is not even close to being up to standard for bar food. My pic doesn't include the 1.5 ounces of really poor-looking (probably had been sitting in it's container for awhile prior to getting on my plate) cole slaw. I told the server "ewww, I don't want to eat that" in an obvious reference that it looked bad. Her response was to take it off my plate and walk away. No "sorry" or "can I get you a fresh one or something else," she just took it and left. Also, we were there about 6:30 on a Sunday night and it took about close to an hour to get waited on and get our food. By all means, go to blueberry Hill for the atmosphere and beverages, but don't spend money on food unless you're drunk and ordering off the late night menu with no nearby alternatives. I found my Christmas Dinner at Blueberry Hill and had a fun time, too. I was one of the many folks who had to work on Christmas Day and when I got home at 3:30PM, the last thing I wanted to do was prepare a holiday meal. As I relaxed with nice cold winter beer, I search Yelp and the internet for restaurants open for dinner. I found a couple open and serving luxurious prime rib meals, but after a 10 hour work day, I just wanted simple and relaxing. I then saw Blueberry Hill was open and thought, "Why not, it should be fun." I finished my beer and we headed over to The Loop. I lucked out and found Prince parking directly across the street. As we exited the car other diners were arriving. Once in front of BH, I pulled on the door and it was locked. Immediately I thought, Oh, no. Then I read the sign, they'd be opening at 5PM. We arrived 15 minutes early and it was a good thing we did. In a flash, there were over 2 dozen folks waiting for the doors to open and by the time they did open there were 4 dozen. Once the doors opened, it was obvious who had been there previous years. They knew how the system was going to work and rushed to the appropriate lines. Once inside, you were informed that there was no table service and to place your order at the back booth. When you placed your order, you got a number and they told when to be at the kitchen pass through window to pick up your order. This may sound like a pain in the ass, but they had it down to a science. We enjoyed a beer, a shot of scotch while waiting and when it was my time to be at the pass through window, my number was called shorty after I arrived. My dining partner claims his was the best Fish-n-Chips he has had in STL. I think they were good, but not the best. My Reuben with a side of French Fries made for an unusual Christmas Dinner, but fulfilled my needs and received a spot on my Reuben List. It was obvious some of these diners come every year. The crowd was fun and full of the holiday spirt. I hope to be prepared for future holiday dinners better, but BH made my 2014 Christmas, unique and memorable. read more

They are up for the National Championship this year in the "BCS." With plenty of underclassmen at the skilled positions, they are poised to compete for a very long time. I loved this place, despite it's touristy feel. It seemed like a restaurant that tourists love to frequent, but that locals can still appreciate. There's all kinds of random merchandise all over this giant establishment. I kind of wish I could have cool displays like this at my house, but I get anxiety from ever hoarding anything. Initially had high hopes for Blueberry Hill. Went there in high school a few times and it was lovely, however, let's just say it was anything BUT this time around. The plan was to go to Tuesday Night Trivia, but upon arriving to their cold drab basement, it appeared only two other people were there to play trivia. I noticed one of the team names was something along the lines of, "suck my nuts." No, thank you. However, I can't dog on a place for low trivia numbers, but perhaps that should have been our first sign to go elsewhere. We chose to leave trivia and go back upstairs for dinner, because with the happy hour cocktails we'd indulged in earlier, we were HUNGRY. Everything cost extra! Want cheese on your burger? Extra $1.50. Fries instead of chips? Extra $2.95. Side of honey mustard? $1.50. Ridiculous. This is St. Louis, not NYC, I do not expect to have to pay for burger condiments! But I figured, alright, if I'm basically spending my mortgage, this food is going to be fire. Wrong. After waiting a ridiculous 45 minutes for our food, including appetizers, I began to contemplate if I should resort to eating my napkin. When the food did arrive, I realized the napkin probably had better flavor. The pretzel bites were burnt and the cheese was reminiscent of the yellow goop a fifteen year old serves you with nachos at your neighborhood pool. The onion rings were also burnt. The black bean burger lacked any real flavor, but could be somewhat salvaged with copious amounts of ketchup and mustard. Overall, I would recommend saving your bucks and going to Dairy Queen or Sonic. Surprisingly, they have better food and much better service. read more

Their burger patties have been consistently great for a long time until recently when my husband and I visited the restaurant to pick up our take out orders. This time the burgers were very different ...the patties were packed much much tighter so the juicy soft texture was no longer there. They were under-salted...and most importantly, the patties were cooked much longer than medium rare for some reason. Honestly, they were more like well done for both of our burgers (my husband and I like our burgers medium rare so we ordered them that way). In addition, inside the restaurant was filled with people who did not wear masks but perhaps that was to be expected since people cannot eat & drink with masks on. My experiences with Blueberry Hill are a mixed bag to say the least. It's a reliable place for bar or diner food, and you pretty much get what you ask for. The service can be slow at times so I wouldn't revoke d this place if you're in a rush, but it's suitable for a good evening. The tables and seating are cleaned well, but I will admit the decor above the seatings and wall mounts are generally super dusty. It's quite off putting when you believe that at any moment a dust bunny could fall into your food. read more
