Open outdoor seating, on bohemian shared picnic tables, with a smaller section inside, with a counter and an 8 top bar table....delicious coffee, the best kombucha (Health-Ade) on tap, and Love the caveman bowl with some ferments, and simple tasty avocado toast. A new spot in the neighborhood! We had the avocado toast, salmon tartine, and Bondi breakfast with poached eggs. The salmon tartine was a highlight as they cure their own salmon and make their own labneh (a creamy spread), but honestly everything was really well executed and tasty! Also ordered a flat white and a green smoothie and they were also good. The interior is tiny and cozy. We sat on picnic benches outside. Loving this laid back spot. I have enjoyed coming here for a cup of coffee, lunch and breakfast. Their healthy and tasty food makes me so happy. I tried rad bowl and it was amazing! I like their everyday deli selections too. I have had this place flagged for so long and just kept forgetting to go. What a mistake! This place is great!! The menu is pretty big, and they do breakfast, lunch, smoothies, etc. I had a bowl that was really good -- cauliflower rice, kraut, hummus, fried egg, turmeric quinoa ..such a great combo! The place is also clearly a neighborhood favorite. We got there on the early side of lunch, so we had no problem finding a parking spot (they have quite a few dedicated spaces out front). There is an equal number of eating in vs to go (at least when we were there) so there was no problem finding a seat. Plus, everyone who worked there seemed to really like their job (so rare!), so the atmosphere was great. I am looking forward to going back and trying something else!! read more

Bondi is a very cute little Australian restaurant tucked away in the more industrial part of Santa Monica! A girl friend and I came here before a hike because we had seen pictures of the food. She ordered the rainbow bowl & I got the sweet halloumi tartine (avocado toast with honey, pistachios, and halloumi cheese). We both enjoyed our meals! You have to wait in a (very long on weekends) line, and then again wait for the open seating at the tables-- indoor was too warm and stuffy so we opted to wait for a table in the shade outside. The restaurant itself is decorated very cute with great wall art outside and the presentation is fab as well. We witnessed several people engaged in photo shoots of their food, one girl even standing on the picnic bench to get a good angle. The halloumi tartine was an interesting twist on traditional avocado toast- the honey and pistachios added lots of great flavor, and the cheese was delicious. My only complaint was that the slices of cheese were very thick and somewhat overpowering-- nothing you can't fix with a knife yourself. We will definitely be coming back! read more
