*This review is in regards to their pie* I didn't try their food yet. My husband and I just wanted pie and we wanted to try it here. Unfortunately, they only had about 5 flavors. I ordered the apple pie without caramel and a la mode. It was warmed up and delicious!! My husband ordered the pumpkin pie and it was delicious and flavored well (but very cold. I flew in from California yesterday and prior to coming to Ann Arbor, I knew I needed to come to Bob Evans. I had been here 1 time before and feel in love. The server was so friendly, didn't catch his name but he was very well mannered and respectful. I ordered 1 of the Thanksgiving plates and everything was so delicious. I wasn't sure if I should have ordered the roll or biscuit and asked our server which he recommended and said the biscuits and boy they were so good! My daughter had breakfast, chicken fried steak, hash browns and eggs with 2 biscuits on the side. I was expecting it to be chaotic since we went on Thanksgiving day but it was nice and quiet and there were a few empty tables. Also, the prices are very reasonable! Very cheery and competent service at 7 am! A lot of the Ann Arbor breakfast places don't open until 8 or even 9 am. So.... Tried This bob Evans. I could not have been happier with the service. The coffee was pretty weak..... then: amazing food! I am still in pleasant shock a day later. This was not heady and everything cooked to order. Plus: they have GRITS. Was in need of some comfort food yesterday and Cracker Barrel was too far away so I went with Bob Evan's, ordering their Chicken-n-Noodles deep dish dinner (served over a biscuit) and the banana bread from their dessert menu. Hubby brings it home only to find instead of banana bread, I was given two biscuits. He called them, and it turns out they were out of banana bread and simply chose to substitute more biscuits without saying anything to him when he picked it up. When asked what other desserts they could substitute, as they had several on the menu, she told him he could have a chocolate chip cookie. Like he should drive back for a chocolate chip cookie? They had a responsibility to let him know they were out of the bread when he picked it up, and there was no apology offered whatsoever. The food was just...okay. read more

Second time getting terrible service at this location. First time it took over half an hour before someone asked us for drinks and when the food eventually did get to us, this second time 45 minutes and not even a glass of water. In light of some recent reviews that I see posted, I feel compelled to stick up for one of my "go-to" places. When I am looking for a consistently good, fairly priced breakfast, I don't hesitate to pick Bob Evans. They can even accommodate tables larger than 4, something other restaurants don't seem able to do very easily. I've never had bad service at this location and I've dined as a party of one, two and 6 (our family is growing) on more than one occasion. They have plenty of menu options so no matter your tastes or appetite, you should be able to easily find something that will satisfy. On our last visit, we had pancakes, mac 'n cheese, omelets, french toast, turkey sandwich and no complaints. Seating has always been quick. And, bonus: nice people eat here. On my first visit, I had breakfast on a Mother's Day. Surprisingly, I found myself alone first thing in the morning so I hit up Bob Evans as a treat to myself. I ended up seated next to another "single" mom at the counter and we joked about being abandoned on our special day. But for me it turned out to be special indeed because when I got ready to pay, my server told me the other mom, who had just left, had picked up my check! That meant I could spend my money on a loaf of banana bread to take home! Which I did and which I highly recommend everyone do as well. It is better than home-baked. read more

But when she dropped off the check, she said she would take it whenever I was ready . . . and then I never saw her again. I was able to bring it up to the cashier, though. We got our drinks and then asked for a minute to review the menu, 30 mins later the waiter never returned to our table so we walked out. Stopped in on July 18th around 5pm to give them a second chance, again they were only seating people on one side of the restaurant, we were told that we had to wait as there were no clean tables. Okay so I never used to go to Bob Evans nor had the desire to ever eat there. But my father-in-law introduced us to this ROAST BEEF SANDWICH back in 2015, and we were hooked instantly! So now that's all we get at this same location every time. It's so good! I didn't even have time to take a picture of it because we devour it so quickly. My dad likes to go to this Bob Evans. He thinks the lunches are pretty good. I tried their unlimited soup, salad and bread. I wasn't impressed. The cheesy potato soup didn't see like real food. The dining area was a mess and badly needed sweeping and bussing. The service was friendly and even after I left my cell phone on the table, and called for it 30 minutes later, the employees made sure it was returned to me. We will be back to try to find something a bit fresher on the menu. The employees are 5 stars, but can't give more than three until the cleanliness and food improve. read more

First off, let me say I'm not a frequenter of Bob Evans, mainly because I try to go to locally owned establishments mostly. I did happen to visit this particular Bob's after staying the night in Ann Arbor on a recent weekend getaway though, and in my opinion it's first rate. The manager and the employees were very friendly, helpful and communicative. The establishment was tidy, and all of our food was served up in a timely manner, hot and delicious. I don't know how any of the other Evans restaurants are, but this particular one is excellent, and should be held as the golden standard for all of the others. read more

My friend Kevin and I decided stop in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon around a month ago. We were told there was a 10 minute wait to clear some tables off. The first thing I realize is that 15, then 20 minutes had gone by. Meanwhile, the hostess at the FOH, started to seat customers that had come in after we did. We looked around in the restaurant and there was over a dozen tables that still needed to be turned that were dirty when we first came in. I have seen slow service before, but this is ridiculous. I always get the Farmer's Market Omelet, with side order of sausage links... and of course, you can't forget the coffee... Bob Evan's is the only place I know that serve Sanka coffee... and no, I'm not a fan of Sanka Coffee, but what else can I do? Bring my own?? I usually go on the weekends, so expect a long line... when you get in, make sure your get your name on the list... usually you'll get a table within 30 minutes. The service is great, never had an issue with service at this Bob Evans. They refill your cup quickly. Overall, I wish there was Bob Evans on this side of town... for sure I would go more often... give Bob Evans a try... if you like Sanka coffee... this is a must for you :) read more

I also received two biscuits. The portions were generous and everything was served fresh and hot. I ordered this to go. Very disappointed in our delivery we just received. My wife's omelet looks like the eggs were cooked, and then the toppings were just thrown in after the fact, they weren't even cooked. We are missing our biscuits and sausage gravy, I'm missing my pancakes that came with the meal. B Evans hits the spot. It's a very under-rated chain for us younger folk. This location is located right near Meijer and jail, which makes it a prime locale to catch a nice bite to eat before you do your marketing or a nice stop to visit after you get out of the can for committing a dumb crime. (Tip - I always salt and pepper my salad 2 minutes before I eat my salad - it brings out natural flavors and brings out the juiciness) My go-to dinner here is.......HOMESTEAD BREAKFAST HOMESTEAD BREAKFAST It's basically a standard 2 egg breakfast with one meat, a thing of home fries or hash browns and the toast is replaced with biscuits and gravy. Tasty as hell though. I like B Evan's sausage links and the eggs over easy with my Homestead, I'm old fashioned. Biscuits taste great - they aren't the cheesy biscuits from Red Lobster, but they are good. I just rip it in little pieces and throw it in the gravy.....toss it around like a pork fat fondue and enjoy each bite. Potatoes are good too, I get the home fries. Squirt of ketchup for the dipping. My other food choice here is the beef tips over noodles that they don't carry anymore I don't think. What a bummer - for athletes like myself, it is a tasty choice for a high protein/high taste/low cal meal......the meat was always tender and the gravy ever so yummy. I went here for breakfast in a pretty rural part of Ann Arbor. I grew up on Bob Evans, and I've always enjoyed their breakfast. I've grown to appreciate their lunch and dinner as well. The place wasn't that busy. For breakfast, I had some standard stuff--eggs, bacon, and sausage. Their sausage (patties or links) are from the Bob Evans farm, and they are pretty good. I think the sausage links are slightly better than the patties and go great with maple syrup. Bob Evans' signature dish is their sausage gravy over biscuits, and you just can't pass up on it when you are here. I've had similar dishes at other restaurants, but they are not as good. Some places have a white, milky gravy that is just bland. Others just taste like grease. But Bob Evans' sausage gravy has a nice consistent texture, it tastes great, and the biscuits are good. The whole time we were sitting there, a person who appeared to be a busser, made eye contact with us, and continued to talk to customers. Breakfast is always available which is a plus both for the adults and the kids. Generally was able to find a number of health conscious choices from the menu, and they were willing/able to make some changes to suit our tastes.
